El Torcal de Antequera in Marbella

A very special and interesting walk in a national park.The green rute is one hour and is possible to do in sandals, but recomended in closed shoes.Rush hours (approx 11-14no access in own car but parking 3 km down. Only few parking spaces at visitor center and the road up is pretty narrow. Price on the bus is 2 €

Really enjoyed this park.We went on a Sunday and while it was very busy we still had a great time.We arrived at 10.30 and the top car park was already full.A good shuttle bus system is in place so we were able to park in the bottom car park and catch the shuttle for €2 per person for the return trip (keep your ticket for the return trip),When we came back to our car about 12.30 the bottom car park was also full and people were parked on the side of the road.I’d recommend coming early or later in the afternoon when some people have left.The scenery is great, we enjoyed the walk and the cafe had good coffee.

Magnificent scenery and amazing rock formations. Easy to access with a good visitor centre and good size car park. Small café/ bar in the complex and a toilet block. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Stunning scenery & drive, found by accident on a mystery tour of the area. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing landscape and visitors centre

Fantastic outdoor space with varying rock formations thousands of feet up a mountain that was once under the sea. A few marked walks from the car park of different lengths, not for those without at least an element of fitness though. Parking is free and there is a visitor centre with cafeteria attached.

A real beauty in daylight, but if you get the chance, try to visit a night session of the local observatory. In the summer months they organize sometimes a star observation at the Torcal site. Should be announced through leaflets or if not, ask the café employees for this kind of event.

Perfect place for a fantastic walk through an even more fantastic adventurous landscape. You can take the short ( green or long ( yellow walk. Be prepared against the heat or sudden fog / cold and but your trekking shoes on.

Amazing example of “karst” landscape. Its name comes from torcas Meaning sinkholes. Interesting formations Of circular concavities. This is limestone more than 150 million years old formed by marine debris thanks to erosion. It’s really something different to see and feel when you’re up in the antequerras. Expect the temperature to be a few degrees lower than sea level due to altitude. There are walking circuits anything from one to 3 1/2 km. I would suggest suitable for beginners but there is some essence and decent and pebble paths with big rocks that require large upward and downward steps are in so the fitness of the hiker must be ample. There are disability provisions made by the national park please check these are suitable for your purposes on an individual basis. All in all the drive up and down the mountain to spend an afternoon walking around a wonderful national park is well worth your time in a visit.

Always a superb place to visit no matter what the month or the season. Amazing karst rock formations, always Spanish Ibex to be seen and great birding.

Amazing place to take a hike and discover interesting rock formations that arent that common to find in nature. We took a shorter, green road thats easy to hike with kids (about 40 min without kids they sayand yellow one makes a bigger circle.

Could have stayed here all day! Fantastic walks through all the rock formations. The paths weren’t at all difficult to navigate and were easily suitable for young kids who are used to doing some walking.

Beautiful and scenic geology. Would highly recommend.Do note: make sure to wear large-profile shoes. Especially when wet (slippery clay-like mud).

Stunning natural rock formations and views. If you dont want to hike, you can just go to Mirador de Ventanillas, it is an easy 100m walk from the parking area. Well worth the drive up.

Gorgeous scenery, views and hiking trails. Watch for the Spanish version of mountain goats. Plentiful parking. I think there is food available but didnt try. Restrooms out of paper - Europe! Be prepared for wind and a sharp temperature drop compared to the lowlands.

A very nice landscape, a big area with limestones.A minus is that cannot go with some public transportation, you need to rent a car or book a taxi. The taxi price is 36€ and wait one hour or 25€ per trip and came after you at any hour that you request.

Must see! you can choose between two walks each its level and color. this place has an interesting history that you can discover in the info point before you do the walk, there is a small museum that shows you the history and it is free! You can also have a drink in de local cafe. We did our walk around 10h00 and it was very calm. When we came back around noon it was kinda busy, so if you want to do your walk when it is calm I recomend to do it before noon (We came on a sunday). Oh and dont forget to say hallo to the goats who run freely ;)

A unique site in Europe: limestone rocks, sculptured by weather during millions of years. A fantastic site where you can literally look back millions of years of history. Ammonite fossils, found at this location, are shown in the museum. It means, while the limestone rocks are now at an altitude of approximately 1,240 meter above sea level, the sea used to cover these limestone formations..

Awesome place, wonderful mountain and very particular rocks. There are two different path: green (easy 45minsand yellow (medium 2h). I did the green one with family and my dog.About dog its mandatory to keep it on a leash and honestly it was not easy : the path is full of rocks so was a little bit hard to walk with him.

Unbelievable scenery, nice walking trail also with kids, shorter 1,5km and longer 3km trail available which both start and end at same parking lot

Just a magical place, almost like no place on earth, due to its unique geological creation. You can go your to hike from the bottom or park at the top and hike different routes. I just did an organised night hike, which was awesome!

Amazing nature reserve! Looks like something between Narnia and Avatar ser. Ancient mountains, that used to be the bottom of the ocean. There are few hiking tracks available- from the easiest one (around 30 minutesto the long one (~2 hours). We took the long one and it was easy enough for the child. There’re beautiful view in every point of the walk, don’t forget to just stand still for a second and look around. There’s a cafe, little museum and a gift shop in the station. Parking is free

A great hike through unique rock formations. We hiked the combination green and yellow trail, which wasnt hard or strenuous but required a lot of bouldering. It took a little over an hour with stops for pictures and water.

Nice walk, we took the yellow path, it takes roughly 2 hours. Its not a even pad, youve got to go through and over rocks, but that adds to the environment. We also saw some mountain goats.

Beautiful "rock town" with several touristic trails. You can see chamois here and when you know where (or you have a knowledgeable guidealso prehistoric fossils. Magnificent view of surrounding landscape. Free entry.

Fabulous. Well worth a visit. High so can be chilly and west sensible shoes mostly footpaths and easy going. Cafe and facilities.We saw 2 eagles riding the thermals. All in all a lovely trip.

Plan your visit in the afternoon so you can view the sunset. There is a shuttle bus in high season with many visitors. Admission to the park is free.

Lovely place, drove up here early in the morning and did the yellow hike which was 2 hours (although budget for longer if you plan to take breaks for photos). We were able to see a few of the mountain goats when we were there which was a pleasant surprise! Note that the visitor center doesnt open until 10am so no washrooms until then.

Great place for a short 1-2 hour hike. Trails are not that difficult, but are rocky and uneven. Excellent for families and energetic children. However, its not possible to take a stroller. Rock formations are spectacular and extremely unique. Magnificent view on the way up.

Great place to trek. Out in the middle of nowhere at the top of a mountain. Luckily theses a cafe and restaurant just before you start the trek. Make sure you were comfy shoes like boots or trainers and you are in pretty good shape as theres a lot of climbing up and down rocks etc.

Very beautiful walking area of limestone formed millions of years ago. Take some warm clothes with you, can be cold and windy. if you come after 14.45 you can go up the last few kilometres with your own car or busses bring you up the last part. Notice the busses goes till 17.30

The most fantastic place I have seen. Very hard to walk even the shortest route (1,8 km), but worth the effort.

Stunning, but too foggy to see that much, so we didnt go for the walk we wanted to do. Cant wait to revisit in clear weather. We chose to avoid visiting at the weekend, which we preferred. Even so, there were lots of people there. Café (didnt visit this). Excellent visitor centre too that talks about the fascinating geological and natural history of the area.

Great place for a hike. Beautiful views and special rock formations. Take your time and enjoy. The only downside are the screaming kids walking around in groups.

Beautiful landscapes, breathtaking views, massive limestones formations. Feels like being in another planet. Bring comfortable or running shoes. There is a small bar/restaurant with outdoor terrasse.

Although it was very foggy, limiting the views, a tremendous day in nature with outstanding geology, excellent facilities. Will definitely go back when better weather! And do a more thorough review!

A must go and explore location of Andalucia. Highly recommend the 3h hike (10€ / headwith local tourist guide. Very enjoyable
