El Sendero del Cacao in Santiago de los Caballeros

Coincidimos con un grupo numerosoen la visita…pero lo peor fueron los mosquitos (era finales de agosto). Hacer tu propio chocolate lo más divertido!

Muy bueno lugar, muy amable el personal se pasa un muy buen momento en familia, se disfruta mucho conociendo sobre el cacao recomendado para ir con niños.

Es una hermosa finca de cacao de la empresa Rizek en San Francisco de Macoris con un espacio para degustar un chocolate caliente y un área para explicar cómo sw procesa el cacao, además de una tienda de 🎁 regalos.Ofrecen paseos por la finca para exolicar el proceso de producción del cacaoUn bello lugar de mucha paz y tranquilidad.

Si vienes a San Francisco de Macorís en turismo interno, este es un lugar que debes visitar, aquí se conoce el proceso de cosecha, recolección y preparación del chocolate. Una experiencia muy interesante y deliciosa.

Where does our chocolate come from? Here you will see the whole proccess from growing up a plant to your own chocolate.On the guiedet tour, you will learn how the company protect his fruits, you will see two different ways of making chocolate and in the end there is a good lunch whaiting for you... it will cost about 2000RD/p with lunch.

We haven’t had time to do a tour. But place is nice, you can see cocoa farm and cocoa trees everywhere there as well as small chocolate factory with equipments for making chocolate. Nice small shop with Kahkow chocolate. I would recommend to clean a little bit some places around from plastics etc… good to see if you are near toSan Francisco de Macoris.

Loved my experience here learning about the cocoa to chocolate process, getting to taste everything from the cocoa straight out of the fruit to the different stages of chocolate along the way. Staff was great as well.

Nothing special

My family gathered to celebrate my father’s 91 birthday celebration. The place was amazing and we all were in loved with the place and location of Sendero de Cacao. It is so very much the place to be enjoy a safe family reunion. I just want to make a suggestion to the administration of the place, please keep the secret treasure as it is…. Only improve your customer services and communication skills to help the future customer’s celebrations to be smooth and enjoyable without any unpleasant surprises. I will rate the place and location 4.5 the customer services and communications skills 2.5.

Good price and great experience

This visit was above my expectations. My friends and I had lots of fun. The tour guide was excelente at taking pictures, and we tasted from cacao the fruits, to cacao bits unprocessed, traditionally made cacao, and different cocholate flavours from 40% 60% and 82% cacao. This plantation is organic and they only produce produce vegan chocolat by using coconut and almond milk. Their is and exception, 40% cacao chocolate contains milk. I encourage to go. I would go again and buy tons of chocolate. 🍫

Little did we know when we pulled up in our rental car, but the place was closed to group tours that day due to filming a documentary. We were delighted when an employee offered to take us around anyway. We learned and tasted new things and saw the whole process of tree to bar. We even ate cacao fruit! Really great experience for us!

Highly recommended great tour. The start of the tour started with hot chocolate either with water or milk your choice then showed us the history of how chocolate is grown, harvested and manufactured even the old ways they used to. Plus at the end an excellent meal.

Great place to learn how the dominican chocolate is made

We drove for 2 hours to find the gate closed. We called and they said you have to call and book a day in advance. Would not recommend coming without calling in advance.

Beautiful place! You will learn everything about cacao, from how it grows, get processed and how fine chocolate is made.

What a wonderful experience my sisters and I had learning about planting and harvesting organic cacao. We were highly impressed by the staff who participated in every activity. Lunch was delish!

Excellent experience

This place is wonderful to go along in groups of chocolate lovers friends, family, or with your lover.We went on a family trip and enjoyed every part of it. We learned about the process on the making of chocolate from the moment you plant the seed to the marvelous time you eat it.If you are planning to go, you must consider bringing your sunscreen and mosquitoes repellent with you for the part of the tour when you go into the plantations. Also consider that there is a small part of the road that needs repairing so, it is better to go in a Jeep or a suv. However, you can also go in your car or van but you will have to take it easy.

Wowwww this place is just incredible! Fantastic excursion, excellent service and quality. This is quality that is rare in the RD. They speak really good English. The tours are interactive and very intersting. Geat lunch. This place is off the hook!! Highly recommendable!
