El Rosario Church - Catholic church in Santa Ana, El Salvador
Closed in the weekend
Absolutely beautiful
Foreigners need to pay $2 as entry fee, the lighting reminded me of Le Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, it was quite beautiful.
Unbelievably this church charges $2 to enter.I only wanted to go in to see the windows and luckily theyd taken so long setting up their stupid signs I had already taken photos through the door.If you still want to go in, note that the entrance is on the side road, and the gate has no information regarding opening times or the ridiculous charge.A random passerby told me it opened at 2pm while 2 staff stood inside the gate just watching me obviously trying to get it.Basically just proving that religion is a scam.
We decided to stop by san salvador just to see this church and it was worth it. Note that the entrance is from a side street, not from the Libertad square. The first time we came by we thought it was closed because what looked like the main gate was locked but there is a small, nondescript gate from the side. Entrance is $2 for foreigners. We met a guy whose wife got rejected at the door so make sure youre wearing long trousers/skirt and have covered shoulders (tshirt is fine).
Beautiful
Amazing church. Its 2 dollars for a foreigner tourist entrance.
Beautiful curvy full of history. Amazing stained glass with a meaningful history.
Interesting design. Lights reflection, quiet space for reflection.
Beautiful and colorful church with amazing design
Beautiful church with an amazing design. From the outside, you dont see much, but once inside is extraordinary!
its a majestic work of art in the heart of historic San Salvador. The surrounding area is not ideal ( safety, dirtybut once you get there, go inside and take time to enjoy the beauty of this Church. its well thought and very original.
Beautiful church
Such a hidden gym.
Very cool worth a trip.
Closed. Took photos through the locked gate. Sketchy neighborhood!
Beautiful but closed to public bc of pandemic. Can still see everything through the gate
Most beautiful church in the world. I know that not many tourist goes to San Salvador but I strongly recommend to visit it.
This church has an amazing architectural design that is very unique. It does not look like much from the outside, but you are in for a nice surprise, especially on a sunny day. The church is closed to the public with the exception of mass on Tuesdays and Sunday, based on what the office told me. This is temporary for covid. If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend it.
Beautiful!
Beautiful glass interior
It is historic
Relax aura
Very cool lighting in the church with interesting modern art.
Really beautiful when the lights come into .less people .
Very nice Church
This was a really unique experience. Really beautiful church. The windows are beautiful but so is the stations of the Cross. Try to come at sunrise or sunset if possible. Also, be aware that they dont like guests, especially women, wearing shorts. I know this is normal when on vacation in 95 degrees plus weather but they make you wear a wrap if they think its too short. Also, theres no AC in the church.
Peaceful
A beautiful church a unique style
This place is weird. Looks like a dusty abandoned thing but it’s one of the most important churches in central America and it has a lot of story behind it like the architect was rejected by locals bishops then he went to Rome and got the green light directly from the pope or so. Anyway, 1,5$ fee to enter, quite outrageous, and then it takes 2 to 5 minutes to explore all.
Hermosa
Pleasing architecture in this modernist church with a good coffee shop attached. I found this more impressive than the main church in San Salvador.
Beautiful place, hint the expression "dont judge a book by its cover" great art also.
Wow just amazing.
Lovely place
A wonderful place to have a Good connection with God, and a gorgeous view inside.
Nice modern architecture
Amazing architecture
Very unique and interesting church.
Its a uniquely beautiful building, not just architecturally but for its portrayal of the Stations of the Cross.
The lighting in this unusual church is just beautiful, in the heart of the Centro Historico.
It is a very beautiful building with a unique history
Always Beautiful
Something unique church
Very beautiful church and distinct church. Come in the early morning or late afternoon to get the most dramatic effect!
Comissioned by Fray Francisco Peinador and designed by Ruben Martinez, this unusual church wws built on 1971. A truly impressive structure that replaced the main San Salvador church and seat of the Catholic Bishop until the Metropolitan Cathedral was built. Much of the materials used to its construction came from France, including the coloured glass used for the windows. It was designed having in mind the narrow space, making it one of the few churches i. the world to have a sideways altar. A truly marvelous building in the heart of San Salvadors Downtown, its a must-see for pilgrims and architectures enthusiasts alike.
Most unique Catholic Church Ive been in. The ventilation of the structure is quite impressive.
On the outside nothing much but on inside its very cool how they placed the stain glasses windows. Its free to go in so worth a visit if you are in or close to centro historico.
