El Pollo Loco in Riverside

Customer service is terrible, they constantly forget items and its basically impossible to get a refund because of the terrible customer service. Last time in the drive through the employee had his back turned to me and was too busy conversing with his coworkers. I waited patiently and then he looks at me and says, "Did you need something?" I honestly didnt know how to react. I was like yeah just my food. On top of that they forgot a couple items. Tried to call and no answer. This location also seems to occasionally close early, unless google got their hours wrong. Ill happily take my business elsewhere

I was very disappointed in this location, I accidentally ordered on the Polo App, few min after ordering I called to cancel it, I went to a closer location. When I called the Van Buren location they said no problem we can cancel your order and told me I would receive a refund. No such luck. All of this on my birthday, I picked El Polo Loco as it is my favorite chicken restaurant. Well was, I emailed the company and never received even a email back. I sent a picture of receipt to prove I purchased before the mistaken order would have been ready. I also have the phone call length that i was promised a refund. Very disappointed and not a good bday when you spend 50.00 for absolutely nothing.

Used to come here so much as a kid. So much has changed but the chicken is still the same including the sides. Ive always loved that grilled chicken and beans. So good. Happy to be in California visiting.

Ok its been a few years since Ive been to El Pollo and we bought a 12pc. Family dinner. This restaurant literally killed the chicken, the skin was BURNT and overcooked and cole slaw had NO SAUCE whatsoever. Tortillas were good but beans were tasteless as always along with the rice. Thank goodness for salsa!! Got plenty of that.

I love El Pollo. It is always good eats and pricing is consistent without being outrageous. Good food at an affordable price, whats not to love?

We love the tostada salad.

We always go here for the taco salads. Not that we dont like their chicken, which we do. But the salad are our favorite.

I used to love the food here.Its over cooked dark.They always forget something.

My favorite is the chicken tostata salad. They do a great job at this location.

Eat the snack taco combo. Those tacos are bomb. To bad you can only get it in the combo.

Prices have definitely gone up over the years, but definitely still a great spot

I ordered my Mac and cheese my side and went I went to order again they told me ho I forgot to tell you we dont have Mac and cheese do you want something else and I couldnt get my money back because I pay with card the should check in with the people whos in the kitchen if the have or not never coming back

Highly disappointed with this place. We ordered online, and it seems since they dont actually have a see the customer then it doesnt matter what they give you. The shrimp tostada salad came with chicken, no chips were included and the salsa was the wrong kind. If you dont have the items or just dont care, dont be part of an online delivery company. This isnt the first time this happened, but we tried again hoping it was just an overlook the first time. But rest assured you wont have to deal with us anymore since we wont be ordering again.

This is my first time visiting this place the chicken is great ordered the family meal with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese great looking forward to ordering different things from the menu

Moderately long ( 5 carsdrive thru line, but moved quickly; VERY pleasant reception, order accurate . Noted that menu abbreviated, less options: thats a bonus to me as streamliness process

Quick to get my food served, cool location too.

Come in and stop by to get your chicken fix you will get what you pay for so if your tired of meat give chicken a try it is healthier.

The SLOWEST service ever. It took me 45 minutes to order my food and to get it.Not to mention at sat at the, intercom (order sectionof the drive thru for 10 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me and take my order

Not thrilled about this restaurant. Chicken was small and dry, beans were flavorless and no dressing for the tiny tiny side salad

Been coming to this Pollo Loco location for years and they still have familiar faces and great customer service in this team..I dont eat chicken but im always coming here for someone else and anything else they have besides chicken....

Typical decent food for El Pollo. Strictly drive thru and no walk ins but the gal at drive thru was very nice and our order was correct.

Got my double chicken tostada home found my dressing wasnt closed tightly and had spilled in bag. Lettuce was wilting no cheese and shell not the freshest

Loved their tostada bowl and would keep ordering again here. I also love the creamy cilantro sauce; It’s a sauce to die for. Next time I go I would definitely order some more of there creamy cilantro sauce. I would recommend this place to anyone but the food was a bit under the temperature of what I expected. But overall pretty good place.

They need to have more patience in the drive through I was the only one there in the drive through and who ever was taking the order was being so rude and inpatient.

This is my favorite El Pollo that we visit often. Tonight was no special occasion, just didnt feel like cooking. We went through the drive through and went through pretty quickly, when we got to the window everyone was so nice and welcoming. As we were leaving they thanked us for our kindness and patience and offered us $5 off our meal. Honestly, I dont think we did anything different than our normal peppy selves but we are honored to have made their day as they make ours each and every time we visit!

Monday December 13th I started working g at Pollo loco. Mostly everyone wasfriendly and the manager named Ninfa was super nice. But on Tuesday my second day there, this old guy by tge name of Armando was so rude.this started happening when the manager stepped out. My second day and I wasnt ready to be at the front t register thing orders by myself. When I let Armando know that there was a customer at the front he replied with (pues atiendalowhich means (well take care of him he kept on bossing me around as if I already knew what to do. It was the longest 4 hours Ive spent in my life wasted because I wanted to learn, I really needed the job, didnt want to quit or give up. When I let Armando know that it was almost 2 oclock and that I would be leaving at 2pm he was rude to me and replied with (ustedes se va cuando yo le diga que se vawhich is ( you will leave when I tell you to leave).2 pm came I still wasnt able to leave because Armando wouldnt come to the register and there were customer in line to order, he said to take there order first.Once Again I approached Armando and told him I had to leave, he said ( the manager has you on the schedule till 4 oclockI said yes but I spoke with her in the morning and she said yes I could leave at early, I had no babysitter for my son to get picked up from school. He said in his Armando rude way ( ballast entonces(leave then)Rude rude rude!!. Cant believe you could have someone talk to employees like this. I was in tears driving back.One day the manager is there and everyone is trying to help me out very nice, the next day shes gone everyone turned their back and couldnt help when I asked. One of the female preparing food was very nice dont remember her name, she was there on Monday and Tuesday, the older lady on Tuesday was being very patient with me trying to teach me to bag the order. Other then that it was a horrible day, emotionally I was a wreck after.People Ive talked to about how I was treated by "Armando", they right away know who he is. They say the old tall man yeah hes rude I know who youre talking about.

***AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS***This location ALWAYS will get your order wrong. This location will ALWAYS take extremely long in taking, preparing, and handing you your order. This location is known for ALWAYS having horrible customer service. These were all problems they had pre-covid. The pandemic has only amplified the problems.Youve been warned.

They took forever to take my order and I was the only vehicle in the drive through and after they finally took my order they asked what kind of tortillas I wanted and I said flour please. As we get to the window to get our food we asked for plates and the ask how many when I told her 10 because my faking meal feeds 8ppl and I ordered extras she said they could give them to me even though I stated I could pay for the plates. She was rude and the manager just ignored us. Also saw the manager touching food without gloves and handling g the cash register at the same time. It was not a positive experience. As we get home to open up the bag I discover that she never gave us tortillas and the chicken was very dry and and stiff like maybe it was old chicken they had and didn’t want to cook us new chicken. I will not be returning to this location and neither will my family or business partners. They definitely need to work on becoming a better customer satisfaction location.

Mmmmmn I really like this place but I dont know if they care or I dont know I buy two lunch boxes because I want it in the box so when I get to the window and give me my lunch boxes nononononono a was a bag full of mix up food 👎👎

Delicious food for a fair price especially when you use their app..they give you points for every dollar you spend and I only go on my lunch break when they send me good options thru the app or if they have a chicken only deal..like theres certain franchise ones that will have a 10 PC. Chicken only for $11.99..for example..youll usually see splattered on their front lobby window..theres one off of Main un Corona that has that deal

Great horrible I had a coupon that I had a lady in for a buy one Pollo bowl get one free she chart and Fill price And after talking to the manager they tell me to come back with the receipt and tell them what happened and I’ll give me a free bowl I work customer service if you don’t have something written and signed then they won’t honor it will be officially just need more out of what I paid for and they charge me for something I didn’t want horrible staff super slow will not be coming back to this el pollo loco

Ever since the pandemic every El Pollo Loco have been Stingy with their salsa. I mean these containers dont hold much but they shouldnt be half filled nor should they be limited to paying customers. I have yet to visit one with the exception of the one located off of Milliken in Ontario that is glad to give you what you asked without a huff and puff like if youre unconvincing them. I worked for El Pollo Loco for almost 14 years 10 years ago and I was frequently asked for by frequent customers for my suggestion, service and effort to make sure the customer left happy knowing that order was correct and packed well freshness. I have gone to many where I am missing items dont move from the window open my container letting the cashier about missing items and them complaining as if I could of made it disappeared in their presence. I know that because of the pandemic the salsa bar isnt up like it use to be but I am sure their food cost have gone down because not many people are packing their own salsa but it shouldnt be given to a customer half filled or dry or passed they expiration date. El Pollo Loco start to take care of your customers!!

Good thing we know the menu, most of it was gone from the ordering menu at drive thru, It makes it look abandoned. Chicken avo salad was tasty and filling, Classic chicken burrito is my boys fav. Pollo loco food is consistent, good beans , rice and chicken. Churros are a must have also. Tropical tea is also a favorite.

I was very impressed with the food the chicken tasted like what El pollo should taste like. All the ones i go to dont have any flavor but this one did. Thank you BBQ Chef

I love El Pollo Loco, but within the years they been making their dishes smallerI used to get most of the time the tostada salad, but right now its like half of what they used to be 😞

The service is good as well.. they forgot to put some of my food I the bag I called and spoke to Claudia and she was the sweetest .. she told me to keep my receipt and come back when I can to have it replaced ...3 days later I return with the receipt and with no questions asked my food was replaced... Thank u For being true to ur word...

I pretty much love everything they have here. Avocado chicken tostada is the bomb.UPDATED: Bad service now. Didnt get my order right. Made me get in line to reorder the item they forgot. Then they forget to give me my dressing. There was only person ahead of me and i was there for 30 minutes. Called the manager when i got home because thats when i noticed the missing dressing. The manager didnt really even sound like he cared. Ill be going to the Madison location from now on.

Best fast food locally on vanburen and probably healthiest. Weird parking lot and driveway along with drivethru jammed at dinner time... I usually avoid the crowd and dont go there because of bad drivethru layout and tight turns in my big truck. But otherwise its hard to get good food in this area

Delicious chicken and sides! We specially love the churros! Dont get me started on the salads yum! Friendly staff. Great can do attitude! Keep up the good work everyone!

Chicken was roached, and pieces were very small.. 14 bucks for 4 pieces (2 breasts, and 2 thighs2 baby sides is a bit much for pigeon size pieces.. i never seen such small chickens. I miss the pollo loco of old, (hot , juicybut its still decent enough if your in a pinch. Fuego 360 is the new regular chicken spot for me and its right up the street

This location really had great service. They worked hard to make sure they understood our orders and dietary restrictions and made helpful suggestions. They also walked around with a tray that had things like salsas, wipes and mints that just made the experience feel one step up from just a normal fast food experience. I have ordered drive thru from there and had my order messed up (beans in the burrito despite no beans requestbut mostly they do a great job.

Theyve improved, food better tasting, service was good. Think when you order the combo you should get more than the few tortilla strips I got. Pretty lame. Would have been better with some refried beans.

Good value here. I like the pollo bowl combo for $5.00 includes a small beverage. All you can eat Salsa bar is clean. My absolute favorite is the creamy cilantro dressing. I use it on almost everything they offer to eat here except maybe the chicken tortilla soup which is delicious and always HOT!

The service was excellent. The food was hot and the cashiers was fast polite and handled things very well. My only problem with this place is the bathroom, IT WAS DIRTY, TOXIC, AND A COMPLETELY DISASTER. Restaurants remember this: civilized people like to wash their hands before they eat. AFTER SEEING THIS BATHROOM IT MADE ME NOT WANT TO EAT. If the bathroom not clean that means the people or the kitchen isn’t neither.

I love El Pollo Loco. The chicken is to die for. Its always super moist and super delicious. The skin is always crispy and just packed with flavor. The salsa bar is incredible and the Avocado salsa is great. My only complaint is you only get 2 tortillas with your order and you need more.

This El Pollo Loco sucks! I kid you not, every time I’ve gone through the drive thru they ALWAYS forget something from my order. The first few times I let it slide but seriously enough is enough already. I pay for food and expect it to be in the bag. Yes, I can easily check for everything before I leave but that isn’t my job. I’m there for convenience and expect my order to be correct. I have three kids and I’m just trying to get out of there as quickly as possible. Save yourself the disappointment and go to another location. Because this one is awful.
