El Patron Restaurant & Bar - Mexican restaurant in Atlantic City, United States
Great local (non-chainrestaurant that on Tuesday’s offers an unlimited taco bar. They offered birria, chicken and steak alhambre, grilled shrimp, suadero, pastor, and carnitas. Freshly made tortillas were available as well as hard shells. Two types of beans as well as two types of rice were also available. It was $21 per adult and $14 per child. Honestly, a good fair price for the quality of the food and the service was excellent. Their jumbo margaritas are legendary and a must have. When in Orlando I would definitely recommend a visit!
Let me start with saying the food is normally decent but the service and practices of the restaurant are abysmal. I ordered two take out meals I substituted rice instead of beans for one. After waiting almost 75 minutes which is 40 minutes over my quoted my pick up time they originally gave me. I wasnt given my extra side of rice , I asked for Mexican rice and they refused to substitute it for my beans. So they gave me a cup of gross plain white rice . As well as they charged me 10$ for half a cup of queso. My enchiladas had no meat. And the chicken in the tamales was disgusting and almost grey in color. For 50$ I wont be going back
Terrific food, had the tacos and chile relleno, both good sized portions. It’s beautiful restaurant too and fast friendly service. Nice sized portions, highly recommend this place vs the typical noisy overly crowded tourist spots.
Great, vibrant restaurant with delicious food and drinks. I was in town with friends from the UK for a conference and we wanted someone different to eat. We order chicken, steak and The Patron fajitas and the food was very tasty with a large portion. The rice and black bean sides were delectable as well. The staff was friendly and they had a DJ on Saturday night and the atmosphere was festive. I would sure recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again on my next trip to Orlando.
We will eat here every time were in the Orlando area. Some of the best Mexican in the states we have ever had. EVERYTHING is from scratch! The quality of the food was par to when we stayed in Mexico, with an upscale flare of flavors thanks to the incredible Chef!
First of all, the food was overall good. However it took them 3 times to bring me my correct order. Everyone at the table ordered, but they completely forgot my nephews order. Everytime I asked for a refill, it was never the drink I ordered. The chips and salsa were very good, however they charged us for them. Also, make sure you check your receipt because an extra meal was charged on mine.
The food is ok, the pork belly taco was a little bland, my favorite was the shrimp taco. The mango Margarita was really good, the staff is very nice and decor is really cute too.
I was impressed by the shell bowl. I knew I was taking a risk when placing the order because the shell might come soggy, but was impressed by the crispness. I thought the portion was quite small, but given that, it was still enough to fill me up. Two things to mention, I paid $6 for shrimp and received 6 small pieces. We paid 50 cents for extra Lettuce on another dish and received this ridiculously small plastic container of lettuce.
This please was by far the best in buffet!!!!The food quality is to perfection and the taste of everything was delicious and unbelievably yummy. We came from Chicago and Wisconsin where the majority of restaurants are Mexican and believe me I had all different kinds of restaurants in the mid west.El Patrón will always be are place to eat when we are in Orlando thank you all from the Wollesen family!!!!
Taco Tuesday at El Patron. Amazing all you can eat buffet starting at 4:00PM. Great food and great service. A must go next time you go to Orlando.
Food was served warm at best. Had to ask for salsa for my tacos twice by time I got the salsa they had give me fresh tortillas. They don’t give free chips and salsa that’s and extra $4 and food in general is a pricey but good portion size. My friends fajitas barely had any veggies. Only reason I have 4 stars is the food actually tasted good if they just serve it hot.
Pros:Love the look and atmosphere of the restaurant. Food is good and pretty fast. Margaritas were very good! Cons: server could have been more attentive, left part of the order out and didn’t come to check if we needed anything. Had to flag down other servers to ask for things. A bit pricey $$$
Hold on to your Taste Buds! What a roller coaster of flavour, everything came out how i dreamed it just took a little longer than expected but definitely worth the wait. Visit and find out for yourself and you will thank me! It looked, smelled and tasted amazing 🤤.
Unlimited tacos on Taco Tuesday for $19.99 - perfect! The tacos were delicious. The taco bar was already made, so it was perfect if you were really hungry. There was a station and signs to remind you before you took a plate to use hand sanitizer and gloves. The meat stations were managed by the employees to ensure the meat was hot and fresh. There were a variety of toppings, salsas, corn soft and corn hard tacos shells available. The meats included chicken, steak, pork, shrimp and brisket. Sides included corn on the cob, rice both white and Spanish, pinto and black beans and grilled cactus. The margaritas were delicious. You have the option to make a reservation, which we did not. The wait was about 30 mins. Bar is open sitting. It took us about 20 mins to check out due to an issue with the server - other than everything else was good.
Food is very good and portions are big. Place is full so come early. I think drinks were way over priced compared to other restaurants in the area. Chips are not free which is a bummer cause all the Mexican restaurants I go to give free chips. Other then than I liked the food. The fajitas are amazing.
I’m visiting from Texas so I must say I was a little skeptical about a Mexican food buffet in Florida. Well this place blew my expectations out the water!!! I was expecting food that taste like it was frozen and heated in a microwave and honey was I wrong!!! The food was amazing! The food was seasoned well! The meat was extremely tender. They kept the buffet line hot and plentiful! You name it it’s on the buffet. Service was pleasant and speedy! I couldn’t order a drink because I was on duty, however they looked really good. I didn’t ask, but it has to be a scratch kitchen based on how fresh and delicious the food was. My coworkers were extremely pleased as well. I hope they’ll open some restaurants in Texas!!! We need this place in Texas yesterday! My opinion it’s outstanding and that’s my highest rating!!!
Absolutely incredible family-owned restaurant! Quick to seat us. Delicious menu selections. One of their most popular selections is the El Patron fajitas and I can see why!! This was our first time and Juan was an amazing server!! He was fast, efficient & very friendly!! While we are only visiting ORL, we will pass this place on to our friends!
We came from Detroit, and this is the best Mexican food we ever had!!!The staff was so nice and service was perfectAsk for Lucia, she’s super nice and gave us the best service and she was fun !!
Hands down one of the best Mexican Restaurants I have ever ate at. I travel a lot and eat Mexican at least one or twice a week and this place is full of flavor. We were looking for a Mexican restaurant while on vacation and found El Patron. They had a lunch buffet which I wasn’t expecting, but it was delicious. I’ll say that I am not a fan of buffets because everything is usually just thrown out in a feed trough, flavorless but abundant, but this place took pride on what they put out and the way it was presented. Nothing here was thrown together, it was well presented and so full of flavor. The service was excellent and friendly and the food taste great. You can’t go wrong with this place.
The food was good and portions large. We were here on a Saturday night and they had a DJ. The music was loud and we could not hear each other. When the waiter came to take our order, he couldn’t hear either and asked them to turn it down. The music was mostly modern and didn’t add much to the ambience. The drinks were expensive but reasonably large.
Ever since I was a kid, we had heard stories about El Patron. The magic, the pageantry, the influence over the rich and powerful. The army of minions and mountaintop castles. But, it turns out he was just some dude who made yummy Mexican food. I will say he does whip up a mean Margarita. Also the Pozole was insanely delicious. So theres that. 👍🌮🇲🇽
Great flavor in food and big margaritas. Brenda was very helpful to our questions about the menu. They had fast servers bringing out food and drinks. This place is great for big group They were able to accommodate our team on Saturday night.
Brunch buffet and food were great, same with the love music. Made for a great mean. However, two major red flags. They charge for chips and salsa, major Mexican restaurant stable. And our server only came to us twice, and we had to get up and find her to get the check. Same thing with forks, had to grab them from the server counter ourselves. Definitely need work training staff here.
The vibe here is amazing and the food is just as good! We were so well looked after and had a wonderful time. Really easy if you are looking for a place to eat out side of Disney. We will be back!
Not only the best Mexican buffet Ive ever had, but probably rates as one of the very best buffets Ive ever had, and I have had my share. Unbelievable layout and everything is top notch. Great atmosphere. No loud music to contend with. Excellent service. I love Mexican food but this place is over the top. If I lived in the area I would have to do this at least weekly. The only thing missing on the buffet was enchiladas, but that was no big deal because there was certainly plenty high quality Mexican food to make up for it. This goes down as one of my all time favorites...
We were surprised that there was a taco buffet here. Im not sure if that is available daily or not. The food was cooked to perfection. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. It is a little pricey but you will get quality food.
Best Authentic Mexican food in town. We Started with the Botana Platter, enough for 2-3 people, with Empanada, Flautas, Tamales, Chimichanga, etc, Great flavor and portions. Right after We have The Patron Fajitas, with steak, chicken and Shrimp, well seasoned and with both corn and Flour tortillas, side of guacamole, pico de Galo, crema, rice and beans. Overall a great experience, Fiesta ambiance and friendly Service
This restaurant is awesome! Food is cooked to perfection, juicy and tangy and not spicy at all. We had an authentic experience. Portions are literally for a beast, so come really hungry and with an appetite. El Patrón is the real boss here.
This place was Awesome!! And the Guacamole was graded A1!!! Our drinks hit the spot and only needed one to feel relaxed and enjoy our time. Our food was amazing! Filled us all and we shared meals. Our Waiter was Great!, Hector was very attentive and informative telling us the special nights they have while our family is in town on vacation. Highly recommended!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love this place, the attention and service is excellent, the food is delicious. I recommend it 100%. Glenda and Gabo are the best
Had to see if El Patron was as good as we remembered, it was. Make reservations if you can, meal time gets crowded. We like their seating area outside but there are not many tables out there fyi. Our server was decent but got lost a few times for extended amounts of time. The salsa, guac, queso, and chips were excellent again! As we’re the El Presidente and Cadillac margaritas. The shrimp fajitas were excellent. The steak/chicken fajitas were spot on and had a crazy amount of meat. The chimichanga was great and the burrito was also excellent this time. The kids also recommend the cheese quesadilla, beef tacos, and jarritos.
A GREAT spot! The food is authentic and freshly made. The buffet offers a wide variety of options that are normally not seen at Mexican restaurants (nopales, caldo de res, etcThe aguas frescas are all delicious and the service is outstanding! We are visiting the Orlando area for the theme parks during spring break and loved this place so much we are going again! Highly recommend it!
Hated paying $4 for mediocre chips and salsa. Enchiladas suiza with shrimp were terrible and one large margarita cost $24!? My wife liked the fried fish. Nothing seemed authentic Mexican, except ambience.
We wanted to try this place because I had read that it was "authentic" Mexican food. As Mexicans, I would like to mention that the statement is totally incorrect. The carne asada is basically an American steak over a bed of onions, the beans and rice had no flavor, there are no complimentary chips and salsa(there is an extra charge for them). The food came out a couple of plates at a time, so our family could not eat together as we would have liked and if we had waited our food wouldve gotten cold. The fajitas had no seasoning. We had to wait a long time to be offered refills. It was just an overall disappointment and the food is totally overpriced for the taste and quality. Not going back there on our next vacation, thats for sure.
This place was super delicious. 10/10Cocktails were a perfect balance and service was great. The food, amazing. I got the mole with steak and my cousin got the quesadilla.
Great Mexican food in Orlando! Had the Huarachas with steak, very tasty! We got there around 6:15pm and beat the dinner rush. Staff is very attentive except when time for the check. They were busy at the time however. Also had a DJ playing music, not too loud or annoying. Definitely will be back to this place when we visit Orlando.
The food is delicious. I came here during lunch time and it was my first time going. I could easily say this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been too. The staff is friendly, the environment is great. I came here with my family and we where all pleased with the food. A little pricey but it was honestly well worth.
We decided to eat off property before heading to Disney Springs and found this gem online. So glad the reviews led us to this place! Great atmosphere and friendly service. We started with the freshly made guacamole which was delicious and came with freshly made, still warm tortilla chips. The margaritas were really good- nothing artificial and not overly sweet or sour. Loved the presentation too.. For dinner my son had the empanadas (which he would have preferred without the sauce that was drizzled on top - hes a kid). The rest had the artisan tacos (chicharron pork belly probably our fave, bit the carne asada and fish we yummy too. What made the whole thing fun was that they had a great DJ taking requests that kept the patrons bopping in their seats. Ok a little loud, but great family atmosphere. Would come back!
Amazing food. Best tasting! Everything. We have had many appetizers and main courses. The mole is amazing. So are the tacos! You cannot go wrong here with anything on the menu.
Greeted friendly when we walked in... Seated quick and with nice friendly service... The first margarita I ordered actually had a large fruit fly in it so not a big deal but I brought it to our servers attention and she took care of it by taking the drink and quickly replacing it, then halfway through that next drink found another, this time the owner or manager on duty came out and handled it very well so thats why they still get a full 5 stars.... Into the food and drink now!!! We ordered one of each of the tacos and all were very good, came out quick and all had great unique flavors, drinks were strong and well balanced.... Strongly recommend this place
We had a party of fourteen after a baptism. Several were very young picky eaters, a few were older teens, and four adults. The food was good and all amazingly came at once. The waiter had a hand held electronic order taker and cashier. The only minor mix up was between two of the picky eater dishes that inadvertently got switched. My pollo loco was delicious, a goodly amount, and not just the same old same old. My son liked his chimichanga nortena, I admired the Mexican bowl and Mexican salad others got. There were a variety of familiar foods for the picky eaters, ranging from chicken fingers and fries to varying kinds of simple burritos for the slightly more adventurous. Picky eater meals were about $8-$9, most adult dishes were in the $14-$16 range.
I am visiting from out of town. This is my first time here. The lunch buffet is not cheap, but it had quality foods in all portion sizes that were all wonderful. I would highly recommend El Patron.
We’ve enjoyed the buffet at lunch a few times over the years and never ever are we disappointed with the food. Extreme value for quality that you get, especially considering a buffet line that close to both Disney and Universal. Our only slight complaint yesterday was it took over 20 minutes to get our check when we were finished which made it uncomfortable for a family dining with a toddler. But service was friendly and with food so delicious, I can’t honestly take a star away just based on that. I often recommend this location to friends and we most certainly will return time and time again. We did a video review also, which can be found on our channel on YouTube, called Hammocks to Coasters.
My fiancé and I were in Orlando overnight and needed a place to stop in for a bit to eat. Scanned through google for a bit and found this place. Made a reservation, and headed there. Walking up to the place I wasnt sure what to expect. Walking in we were greeted to a beautiful set up what I assume is related to Día de Muertos. Then walking through the doors we were greeted and then sat down a minute later. When getting to the table we were informed of using a QR code for the menu (side note make sure to note down the WiFi password by the podium the reception in here was a little wishy washyWe were greeted by our waiter Hector and he brought out utensils and asked about our drinks. At this time we had decided on the chicken flautas and were deciding on the main course. So he took the order for the app and will come back in a bit. We deliberated for a few and when he came back inquired about the fajitas and if we could add a few more tortilla shells how much would it be which he informed me was an additional $1.00 no problem. So we proceeded to order the El Patron which is the fajitas with Grilled chicken, skirt steak, shrimp & bacon, topped with Chihuahua cheese (description for their website). We decided we could split and boy we were not disappointed. First the flautas came out followed by the fajitas maybe 5 mins later! Talk about lighting fast!!! We were shocked this was maybe 10 mins after sitting down. As you can see from the photos the fajitas were loaded! So we ate everything and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great mustve had a birthday party going on or some sort of gathering. Oh to boot the manager came over and checked on us during our meal. Really a great place to come, also the bathroom was cleaned up nicely and cozy. So overall if you are looking for a nice Mexican place to eat look no further.
Food was cold but tasted good. Had Ranchero enchiladas The white rice and beans were plain and no flavor. No complementary chips and salsa. Drinks are pricy and not strong or flavorful.Had gluten free options which was nice. Listed them right on the menu. Order came out quick and staff was friendly.
So... our problem was the artisan menu... it was kind of like *shoulder shrug* what is any of this?? Our waitress Louisa was amazing at helping as best she could. It was goodness thats what!! Now youve got pictures and a marked up menu. Other than right there at dinner, it was fantastic warmed for next morning snack.Notice the beverage in the background. Thats a Georgia Peach, I think 48 or 50 ounce pitcher. It can not go with you😲 which is how we ended up unable to finish dinner. But it was the best margarita we had in Orlando!!!!
I go here every time I come to Orlando, without fail! The nachos are delicious, the enchiladas are amazing. Their skirt steak melts in your mouth and just out of this world. Very fresh ingredients and very good quality. They sometimes have a DJ playing upbeat music and just overall great atmosphere for casual dining with a little entertainment, check their schedule for when they have the DJ there if you like that kind of thing. You wont be disappointed here. Easily my favorite Mexican spot in Orlando. A must try!
This was our first time experiencing El Patron while visiting Disney and we were pleasantly surprised! We were a little surprised by the lively music and DJ but our hostess sat us away from the music. Be sure to expect a loud atmosphere (great dancing music). Our server Hector was spectacular! He was thorough, efficient and pleasant! In addition to great service, the food was incredibly tasty. The ingredients used were very fresh and appeared to be authentic. We enjoyed our meal and service immensely so this restaurant is highly recommended. P.S. The food service was very quick and fast!
On our vacation we stopped in and wanted authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere was very loud and lively. The service was ok could t really hear most of the time to ask waiter questions. The food was good the drinks were great.
The restaurant was busy yet the staff (our server Amywas super friendly, apologetic, and attentive. Never had to ask for water refill or more chips, she was on the ball. The amount of guacamole was phenomenal! I thought the price matched the quantity. The tacos were flavorful and had a good variety to choose from in regards to beef, chicken, fish or veggie.Highly recommend to those staying in the area and tired of over priced hotel food.
