El Patron Mexican Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in Marietta, United States
Who has a Mexican restaurant with no salsa and no margaritas!!!! My Cinco De Mayo was a bust. Very disappointed.
Really good food and honestly good service. Just expect a wait if there are people sitting or having a party. They don’t have too many chefs or servers or hostesses. But as long as you don’t mind the wait the Birria Tacos are pretty good. Def ask for hot sauce
no stars...went to Casanovas , they never served me... went across the street to this place(owned by same folksNow it has a NEW NAME on the the outside. I stood there and no one came up to me. so I took a look at the menu on the counter, blahh simple fare no variety at all maybe 12 items. I left there as well, so sad. Where is there a good Mexican place close by?
Please order from this restaurant if you want cheese dip with no chips, 14 Tacos with no salsa. Not one chip included in your order which makes sense since you don’t have one tiny ounce of salsa to dip it in. 45.00 dollars down the drain for nothing but dry disappointment. Oh and don’t bother calling the restaurant the number doesn’t work. Thanks for reading and don’t bother calling the yelp/uber customer service line because they will say since salsa is free there is nothing they can do. Well folks ketchup and mayo are free too when you order a burger, but in this case it doesn’t count as a viable complaint. Stick with door dash or grub hub.
I guess today was a miss. The waitress did not listen and ran me up for two quesadillas. I should’ve notice that price was high. I ended just taking both meals because getting a refund was too much trouble. The portions were small and there was no guacamole in the salad 😡. Chips were stale and the beans and rice were messy in the plate not to mention that kid size portion. 😤I’m finding a new place.
Awesome to get back into a restaurant! First time visit and the food was awesome! Service was great and very careful, following the Covid-19, wearing mask and trying to keep a distance when taking our order and placing our food quickly. Highly recommend the cheese dip with all the meat goodies in it! And I love their chips and salsa too. Will definitely be back to this place!😀
Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Had the El Patron fajitas and house margaritas. Fajitas were cooked to order, alot of food for the price.
Rude! Don’t come here. Liars. Hours don’t match the restaurant. Literally walked in and politely asked if they were still open at 10:05pm because google stated they leave at 10:30pm. Lady politely said yes- I went back to tell my family- walked back in and the lady starts exclaiming that they were closed. Even the others that were seated in the restaurant looked at this employee like she was crazy.Went to Casanova Taqueria across the street and was welcomed with open arms.
This place is under new management, and its horrible. 1st of all, they are not serving alcohol right now. When you walk in, the girl behind the counter just stares at you like youre supposed to know what to do. (We saw other people come in who were confused when they walked in also. When we walked up to order, if the menu didnt have pictures and I didnt speak spanish, we wouldnt have known what they were serving. Not to mention they were out of a few things. You seat and serve yourself, so I had to make 3 trips to get our complete order; 4 if you count me going back to get napkins and silverware. We ordered fajitas and nachos, meals that are served on hot plates which require an oven mit. That is a law suit waiting to happen. The old owners left on New Years Eve; They opened under new management New Years Day. The new owners need help bad!!!
Had to keep looking for waitress. Waitress service was bad. The lunch fajitas was so salty and scorched to where uneatble. Didnt come back to check on us. While we were looking at check and telling her about food she cleared table and acted unconcerned about our dislikes.
Our server was great, the chips were old and stale. My steak was not seasoned. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I loved the food, environment, everything. Steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Nachos were huge and delicious. I would really recommend as a quick place close to home.
I decided to try this place today out of convenience and wasnt expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised!! Walking in, atmosphere was nice with good lighting and colorful decorations. Food was served hot and delicious. Big portions for the price, too! Our waitress, Jennifer, couldnt have been more friendly and attentive. Ive been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant since moving to Marietta from Chamblee, and it looks like I might have found one finally. I will definitely be back!!!
The food was mediocre. The beans and rice came out cold, the drinks were thick and syrupy and there was no excuse because it was a slow Friday night. Not to mention that gnats tried to swarm our food. Would not recommend this place to anybody who wants good Mexican and drinks with friends.
Food is good and prices are very reasonable. Specials every day of the week except Friday. Very good House margarita prices every day. Service was very good as well. This is our third time and we will be back.
I cant get enough of their food. Prices are nothing compared to the amount of food the flavor, the texture, the authenticity and the all around satisfying feeling of fullness from inexpensive amount! Im so glad they are right down the road!
Amazing place for authentic Mexican food. I tried this place because it is close to my house. My daughter and I loved it! It wasn’t so busy despite it being a Saturday. I read other reviews that talk about price changes and I didn’t experience any of that. The prices were decent for the amount of food I received on my plate. The waitress was VERY sweet and so nice .
Authentic food in a family run restaurant. Prices are good, quantity is impressive, and its a nice change from the usual Mexican chains.
These people are really nice, and also fast service. Occasionally they miss and leave something out, but not usually. Food is good!
We were hoping this place would make it when it first opened as the food’s decent and the staff seems nice, but after repeatedly having issues when the bill comes, I’m over it.Their special pricing is never accurate and, even if their sign is wrong, guess who’s fault it is? Yours. Triple check all prices before ordering and review your bill like a hawk. I’m tired of constantly being overcharged with a shrug and a ‘sign is wrong’ quip, so I’m done with this place.
Very good service. Awesome, personable staff. Great food and good prices. I normally get the Nachos. Chicken and Beef. Awesome daily specials too.
I tried to give this resturant several chances despite the blatant lack of customer service and the manager who has bias issues. This past weekend was the last attempt and I will never go back. I went their on Sat 6/22/19 with my family which includes me, my son and his dad for dinner. My son who has food allergies had a pizza from a near by pizza place and his dad and I were going to order our usual Mexican dish and margaritas which usually averages to a $45-$55 bill. We were turned away by the rude manager, that I have encounter before, that we could not eat there becuase my 11 yr old son had a pizza box in his hand. This is clearly ricidulous and based on my interactions with this manager prior it clearly confrimed what I knew all along that he has a serious issue with black people. He has shown me this on serveral visits in the past and we stopped going for almost a year. The ONLY reason we went this day was we didnt want to drive the distance that we normally do to get great service and Mexican food, however I should have followed my instinct and went the distance. We have visited a number of Mexican resturants in that area and surrounding areas, and my son has always taken a pizza, and it has NEVER been an issue. The kicker to this was there was only one party of 4 in the entire resturant when we came, so he decided to turn away a paying customer when he had hardly any customers there at the time! I pass El Patron several times a day for its near my home and along the route in my daily commute and the parking lot these last few months is an indication that business is definetly slow and it is largely because the manager lacks interpersonal skills along with fair treatment of people especially of those that are black. The fact he turned us away at the door shows that he decided that he did not want to serve a black family PERIOD!!
This is my third time going there. First two times was great today the owner? Manager? Not sure who he is but he yelled at me. I told the waiter instead of fries to replace with fruit and I ordered chicken chimichanga. Kids food was great. My chicken chimichanga was overpowering with too much salt or seasoning. I was kind and told the waiter. He came over and said ‘two of us tried the chicken and it was fine. Your opinion and it is wrong. You complain too much. This is a Mexican restaurant and we do not replace fries with fruit. I will take off the chimichanga off the bill’. He never once offered to remake it he spazzed out and other times I have been there I have seen him do this to other customers. No bueno. And fyi every Mexican Restaurant I have been to in the area, or in Mexico do substitute fries for fruit. Not many kids like fries. 2nd Never yell the way you did... to a customer like that. Very disrespectful and in front on my kids also talking about me in Spanish is not cool since I so speak the language. Finally every Mexican restaurant I have been to NEVER put that much season/salt on the food. That amounts can be a health hazard especially for people with high blood pressure. The cooks you had today need an education on how to cook food properly. I have read reviews of people saying similar things and instead of gritando (yellingat the customer listen on how to be a better restaurant. I did not yell. But because of the manager/owner ( not sure his position he had cap and white shirt on my kids are scared to come back. He clearly has anger issues and that is not okay in a restaurant business. I am not the first or the last to say this. Seriously chill out when a customer says something isn’t good with food. The cook might have messed up and it is ok. It happens.
I am continuing with my honest review, from moms word. The owner/manager lectured me that "This is a Mexican Restaurant. We dont substitute fries for fruit for kids meals". The owner doesnt realize that Papas Fritas (or french Friesare NOT Mexican/Spanish/French. They are Belgian-Flanders. And called "frites" I am Belgian-Flemish by-the-way. Last time I checked hot dogs and burgers are not Mexican either however, they are on the menu. The food has been good other times i had been there but the aggressiveness you showed me; yelled at me in front of my kid because I said "the chicken had too much salt/seasoning" was no bueno. Look it up, too much salt in food is poison to the human body; people with high blood pressure, also bad. Most restaurants have reduced salt in their foods, including Mexican in the area. You also need a contact email for customers for suggestions. You just lost three customers due to your aggressive behavior, also offending my Belgian-Flemish culture by saying Fries are Mexican. and p.s. EVERY Mexican Restaurant does have option to put fruit as a side instead of fritas/frites. Stop getting upset because someone makes a suggestion or something isnt bueno with the comida. Also speaking Spanish near the customer, complain about them is not cool at all. Spanish is my 3rd language and many others can speak Spanish that might not look "hispanic" in your eyes.. seriously , chill and listen to the customer and it might help your restaurant to succeed better.
Slow service they only had four table with customer and it took them 15 minutes to take our order. They got my son-in-laws order wrong. They fixed it but forgot his sides that he ordered And when we told them about it they said that was extra charge, he got upset all he wants was his food done right .we will never go there again
Me and my friend another black woman went there for dinner, and we were treated so disrespectfully. We ordered an appetizer and it came out burned and without the sauce shown in the picture, we tasted it and it was horrific. We called the manager and told him it tasted like the rotten like it had gone bad, he told us no, were crazy and not to talk about his food like that. Long story short he told us he was going to call the police if we don’t leave, he yelled and screamed at us and then once we walked out the front door he said “make sure you get an education u n*ggers” and locked the door, unfortunately for him we are both very educated I attend the number one HBCU in the country and the woman that was with me just graduated college. Honesty I’m so tired of the racism amongst cultures that should be united, I was more hurt and disappointed than anything to be spoken to that way. I’ve tried to call and speak with a manager or someone but no one ever answers
My 1st bad experience there. The sign said combo specials 6.25. But combo on the menu is not the special.BS!! Weve been there many times and ordered the special. To bad your employees dont have a clue. 4 dollars isnt much its just the way we were treated. Well find some place new.
Food was not cooked properly, as in flavor was wrong, they were out of everything, server was snappy and dismissive, but prices were right. Guacamole was just slices of avocado on a plate, fajitas werent fajita flavored at all
Ive eaten here a few times now and have enjoyed myself each time. The food is that awesome Mexican style that Southerners love. The prices are fair, its a clean facility, no complaints here.
To be honest I have never been so disrespected at am establishment in forever. When ordering my food I asked for some white cheese top of my order and I was told it would be an extra charge *per usual* so I paid the extra charge, now this was my first time coming to this place so I wanted to check it out. Not only did they forget my that part but a whole other part of my order so I got home and called them to see if I could bring It back to be remade and nothing is missing I havent even bitten my order and they said "No" because everyone is complaining about the food and they dont do remakes nor refunds. I will not be coming back. If I could give it a zero star I would.
Me and my family really enjoyed the food. Our waiter Eric was very pleasant and attentive...I loved his attitude because he was the only waiter there and yet he delivered good customer service. This is a plus for me because there are so many restaurants that lacks good genuine customer service. We will be going back!
Best Mexican restaurant in town. The manager knows our names and doesnt even have to ask what were drinking. They even have live music.
OMG...this place is awesome! We are about to leave, but dont want to because of the atmosphere (live music). The food and service are amazing. Love this place.
Amazing. Ana and Adolpho (ADare the best. We happened upon here by chance and will make it our regular spot. The mixed drinks are few but for good reason. Fresh squeezed juice with the fruit puree makes the drinks refreshing and unique. I will suggest the Coctel De Camaron Y Pulpo to eat. Mixed seafood in a cocktail sauce made of fresh cilantro, tomatoes, lime, red onion, and clamato juice.
Discovered it by chance while visiting from out of state. Great food, ample portions, good prices and excellent service! What more could I ask for? Give it a try!
Place is close by thats the only thing that was good about our visit. After seated it seemed our server had to be brought to us by another server. Ordered drinks and abruptly left even though we did want to order an appetizerDrinks came beer was warm and flatPlaced our order and finally ordered our cheese dip app at this time. Waitress never wrote anything down.Never saw her again by our table until the entrees showed up, wifes order was completely wrong and when brought up she said thats what I heard. We also asked about the cheese dip which was finally brought to us still before my wifes order was fixed. Someone else brought my wifes order and we never saw our waitress at our table. She was near the same bar. For the total cost the food and service was not worth. We were hoping that it would of turned out to be good but we were wrong. I would not recommend this place I know that we wont go there again.
Just aweful. Went to get take out.The very uninterested girl at the front would not take my order and told me to wait..just like that...”I don’t take orders, you have to wait”. She looked like a high schooler so I was patient.. I waited and waited and finally I asked who should I talk to... and she said they will come... 5 minutes later... I ordered and they told me it would take 15 minutes. then 20 minutes in they approached me and asked me to repeat my order. I asked them to please tell me if they had not done it. My husband is waiting at home with my baby and he is very tired.... they said “it’s already ready...Then 45 minutes later I got my order (and so I thoughtand left upset bc I knew they had lied to me about having it ready. As I’m driving out, the same girl was running after that car to give me the other part of my order 🙈. Then I got home... 3 minutes away and the food was not that great. AT ALL. I will say though, they had a DJ guy playing there and thought it was a very nice touch. But the service was just plain rude and a huge waste of time.
Service was okay, food was okay (Ive definitely had betterbut we then read that they recently got a 49 on their health inspection. What really got us was when we went to pay, their Thursday "specials" were not discounted on our bill. When we brought it to the managers attention, he said "We will not give you the special price unless you ask for it". They will not discount the specials unless brought to their attention. Trying to scam people is what it is....bad business. Will not be going back. Much better choices in the area.
Failed its recent restaurant inspection in part because of flies in the kitchen and dirty equipment:The inspector reported “black residue” in some of the tea nozzles and a “heavy accumulation of food debris” in the microwaves and margarita machine. In addition, the inspector saw “several flies flying around throughout the kitchen.”Avoid!!
This restaurant is horrible! I ate here for lunch and had to wait 40 minutes for my food, and we were only the second table. When my lunch burrito finally came out it tasted like they covered it in pizza sauce. I watched them mess up three orders while I was here. The service is bad and the food is worse!
Food is great. Good lunch deals and service with a smile. Manager is super friendly and polite.
Food is delicious and service is very friendly.Cheap and quiet atmosphere
Food was not that good. I ordered the Carnitas dinner and got boiled pork with rice and beans. No real flavor. Service was ok but we will t be back. Too many other good choices in the area.
Not a pleasant experience after our order arrived. The chicken breast was dry and the "cheese sauce" that was supposed to be smothered all over the chicken ended up being some barely melted shredded cheese over the chicken breast. Then, my husband found a hair on his food, when we talked to the person who seemed to be the manager, he refused take any responsibility and told us no one in the kitchen had that kind of hair and that it was actually part of a jalapeno pepper which was the most ridiculous explanation/excuse Ive ever heard. We paid full price for our food and will definitely not be going back..
Nice atmosphere i went during late lunch. The speed of service was fast. The drinks were strong and food tasted great.
Food was great. Atmosphere was fabulous. The staff was very courteous and fast and efficient. I would recommend this place.
Prices went up...portions went down. Chicken wings are now the size of pigeon wings and they are overfried and dry....but wait for $2 more you can get 12 fries. Bbq sauce on the wings taste like spicy ketchup! Under new management...bring Angel back please!
Not a good experience. The burrito supreme came out soaked in sauce that was so oily I used four napkins to soak up the oil and couldn’t even eat the dinner. And still paid for it! We love Mexican food but this was really just not good - so many better options in the area. 02/03/18
Realy great and friendly service. The chicken boritto was incredible but I found the ground beef in the tacos a bit flavorless. They have a homemade hot sauce thats really good, so a heaping of that made it better. Prices are fair and the resteraunt and rest rooms are clean.
This place is so good. Been twice and was blown away at the quality of food. Chicken and steak are both amazing. And I’m hard to please. Seriously yummy status
