El Olivo - Restaurant in Pinar del Rio, Cuba
El Olivo in Pinar del Rio
Description
Privilege
Great farmer to table restaurant! Nice pasta and lasagnes with goat cheese.
The best restaurant in whole Cube imo! Very fresh and well done.
Very nice and everything is locally and ecologically sourced. Everything on the menu has goats cheese in it, which is really nice. If you don’t like it they’re happy to leave it out for you
MoreAll the locals agree that this is the best restaurant in town and I agree too! If there is a line up in the evening it is totally worth waiting. Just chat with people around you. Live a little! If you go on the horse ride ask your guide to take you to the farm where they grow everything for this restaurant. You will be impressed. They make the only goat cheese on the planet that I like (I have tried over a hundred). Super cool visit!
MoreGreat moussaka!
We were recommended to check out this place by our host. It didn’t disappoint. Make sure you take one of their lasagnas, truly special. Local produce too.
MoreThe dinner was very nice and the waiters were friendly.
Very tasty food and drinks! Recommended
Went there because of Lonely Planet recommendation. Not amazing as expected. Both croquetas and Caneloni were average/low quality. Standard drinks. Not worth the money you pay here as you can find better, more cuban authentic places in Vinales.
MoreExcellent food - most especially if youre coming from Varadero.
Great food and drinks for a reasonable price! This was definitely the best restaurant I visited while in Viñales! Service was great and restaurant was clean and modern.
MoreThey have a couple good vegan options, including a vegan paella that is good but needs salt. The dish is really pretty! The vegan cream soup is really good too. Weve been here many times over the years and its been a steady solid restaurant. The outside seats fill up, but theres a lot of space inside.
MoreI visited this restaurant based on wonderful recommendations online. The food was good, prices were reasonable, but my husband and I got both sick after eating at this place. I’m talking ongoing days of sickness and food poison. So if you want to enjoy your vacation, be careful.
MoreWe had dinner here because our local guide recommended it. The $3 Mojitos tasted better than the expensive cocktails back home. We had spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti bolognese and it was simple and tasty. The portion size was small but it was very cheap that you could easily pay for a second serving.
MoreWent for an after dinner dessert and coffeewith tempered expectations. This is a small four street village in the middle of farmlands after all.The good, the coffee, the tea and the service..The bad, the flan tasted like slightly aged cheese, barely any sweetness to it, but perhaps thats the Cuban way, it wasnt for me. Unfortunately the crepe my partner ordered was just out of the fridge, cold, and quite forgettable with a good chocolate sauce on it. There are only a few options for dessert in Cuba usually, and in contrast we had an excellent ice cream elsewhere just down the block a different night.
MoreThe best restaurant in Vinales! Good value for money! Desert is also very good! Cheese is from local farm. All I tried was delicious.Location city center and service is very niceTotally recommended!
MoreOne of the best restaurants in Vinales. Quality food with low prices! The portion of each plate could be bigger!
MoreFantastic fresh food .... everything was from a nearby farm. Was clean and great service ... looking forward to returning
MoreMy brother and I went to this restaurant during our first night after going to tres hota, I believe thats the name. That restaurant was good. We decided to try this place and the food was very bland and mediocre, with undercooked rice and we had different service from different servers. Im big on tipping but I dont think they deserved tipping because how slow the service was and how terrible it was. I decided to tip and a bald server completely lashed out at me and my brother despite us giving them a generous tip. This really ruined my experience. I never give bad reviews, I rather not give review at all but I just thought that I had to for this place because of how badly I was treated by the server. I should have just took my tip and went off to other restaurants. There are definitely much better options, we had much better food elsewhere. I have backpacked all throughout Cuba and this is probably the second worst or worst place Ive been to. Bad food and bad service. The terrible service really put a bitter taste to my night. I dont encourage people to go here. There is much better options just a block away.
MoreThe food was good but my boyfriend had big problems with stomach after he had a salad there. Be careful!
MoreBest food in Viniales cuba they have wery nice home made pie. You should visit this restaurant and try delicious food.
MoreEasily the best for we had in town, perhaps in Cuba. The lamb was flavorful, and tender. Salad, actual salad after a week of searching. Really, you must go.
MoreMy husband and I went here two weeks ago and I was quite impressed with the cheese plate, slightly less so with gratinada. Whilst filling, the latter was not as tasty. The cheese plate was very good with sharp, mild and medium selections and drizzled with a pesto and honey. My husband had croquettes and said they were average. The menu is definitely Mediterranean which is nice change from your traditional Cuban fare. Dinking a star only bc the service was so slow and our food took forever to arrive. Prices are petty typical from 3.50 CUC to 18 CUC pp depending on what you get.
MoreOne of the best restaurants in town with excellent pastas, build-your-own-burger, cheese and salads. We ate there four times during our stay in Vinales
MoreDefinitely worth trying in Vinales. Food was good and service as well. Pasta is very good for Cuba.
Morevery good mediterranean style restaurant. pasta bolognese was good along with a salad
MoreThey have some TripAdvisor flag outside but dont believe such things, the restaurant is bad, as bad as the rest in the street with the difference that this one is quite cheap. Dont expect to eat good in Vinales.
MoreFirst night we had dinner there we were so hungry, we were barely checking what we were eating.. Second night we went back with a couple of friends.. We all found the food unacceptable! Cannelloni with spinach was just overcooked pasta with raw spinach inside & lasagna vegetables was just veggies baked in a pan (broccoli, eggplant etc), at the bottom of the dish with some lasagna pasta on top and some sauce to garnish the dish..
MoreExcellent unique restaurant with delicious salads, veggies, pastas and meats. We ate here several lunches and dinners, the staff, food and ambiance were all exceptional.
MoreWent here for lunch, they have good food with reasonable price.
The first genuinely good food Ive had in Cuba. Very friendly and helpful staff, vegetarian options, farm-fresh food, and goats cheese galore. Definitely recommended!
MoreService, food, and drinks here are very good. Some of the food, however, is amazing. I would highly recommend the lamb. Its a great meal for a great a price.
MoreLasagna was burnt and tasted weird, the salad we ordered had way too much ruccola and tasted even weirder. Wasnt cheap either..
MoreOutstanding food, low prices and good service. Probably the best restaurant we went to in 4 weeks around Cuba.
MoreIf youre into goat cheese, thats your restaurant! Weve been there twice during our stay and enjoyed it very much. I dont like goat cheese, but my friends did. They have a lot of dishes with goat cheese and pasta. Make sure to book a table in advance
MoreExcellent restaurant, good price
One of the best restaurants we visited in Cuba. More vegetarian options, with also some different options like cannoli. The sautéed vegetables are recommended, good portion as well if you add rice. You’re very lucky if you can get a spot outside on the terrace!
MoreGreat restaurant in Vinales with good value for money. Try the salads and be prepared to queue if you come after 7h30.
MoreVery decent food and the service is on a high level.
Oh what a feast to have find this place in Viñales! We went there every day - we sat outside and inside, no difference in the pleasure! The service was excellent and the food delicious. We had Gaspazo, Vegetable Soup, Salad, Cannelloni, Pasta, Creme Catalan for dessert - but the highlight was DuckOrange.Nevertheless did we love the Amuse Gueule of goat cheese and olive and the homemade lemonade. The chef uses a lot of goat cheese which he gets from a nearby goatfarm, great cooperation...El Olivo clearly a Cuba highlight for me :)
Moreafter being recommended by a friend we were initially excited. However upon arrival the staff werent very welcoming. The food was the worst we had in Cuba. contrary to travel guides the pasta dishes were of a very low quality, undercooked and extremely watery. Very overpriced for what resembles a restaurant from Ramseys kitchen nightmares.
MoreTypical cuban frozen food but with good service.
Good food, great atmosphere but be prepared to wait a bit.
Good food in big portions. Not cheap compared with the average restaurant, but higher standard.
MoreVery cheap but the food is not great and the line to get in is ridiculously long , don`t get fooled by all the people waiting, it is not worth the time.
MoreQuality and service are good. We had lovely duck and rabbit. Quite busy usually.
Great food in Vinales. After eating a whole lot of rice and beans during our travels throughout Cuba, we enjoyed a nice dish of pasta at the El Olivo Restaurant in Vinales. We missed a hint of spice and salt and pepper on the table but otherwise it was really good :we would definitely come back. We recommend the restaurant.Oh and: the cocktails were really good as well!!!
Morenice restaurant. dont eat the Musaka!!
We ate here about 3 times as it had Aircon and proper good pasta! Not bad for Cuba!
MoreExcellent dining option in Viñales. Mediterranean and fabulous pasta dishes. Reasonably priced, good service. Go early, its a busy place.
