Welcoming, informal restaurant serving Argentine & Italian specialties for dine-in or carryout.
Skirt steak is better than the ribeye. Awesome service.
The empanadas were absolutely incredible. Probably some of the best empanadas I have ever had. I highly recommend the corn empanada.
Frist time eating Argentina 🇦🇷 food 😋.... delicious
I have been coming here for many many ages over 20 years it is always the best Argentine food around. A must have!!!!!! The meat the pastas and the chicken Milanesa is mmmmm
I had the lunch special: two empanadas with lentil and bacon soup. Delicious!
The owner, Rene, is a really nice guy and treats the customers like family. The food is delicious. You can never go wrong with their empanadas. The chimicurri sauce is excellent, as well. One year during Thanksgiving, we ordered the Thanksgiving take-home dinner for the family. It was great and saved me from cooking.
I went yesterday to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Everything started good, the waitress was friendly until I complained very politely (honestlyabout my chorizo sandwich. I was expecting something good since “choripan” is something characteristic from Argentina, instead I got a lettuce sandwich with 1 tomato slice on each side and 1 hotdog size chorizo cut in half (one half for each half of the sandwich), I could barely taste the meat, all I tasted was lettuce with mayo. After I let the waitress know that the sandwich was pretty disappointing she turned rude and said “well, no one has complained about the sandwich before” like saying I was wrong. I asked her if at least was possible to get another half of chorizo to put in my sandwich, with a rude face she agreed and after she returned with the chorizo she gave me the check, didn’t even ask if I wanted dessert or something else, letting me know that she wanted us to leave, that was so rude.
Great service , foods excellent, a little expensive.
Early lunch with friend who recommended for great Argentinian affair. Great patio seating with a smiling and friendly server. Complementary bread and Chimichurri. Ordered the spicy beef and chicken Empanada. Good size, crisp and flavorful stuffings. Main course was the Entrana and Asado De Tira, medium done. Steak was juicy and flavorful. Topped off with Sangria.
Wonderful customer service and really great food! Someone else said this place was a hidden gem and they were absolutely right. High recommend to anybody looking for affordable and good eats with incredibly kind staff. 10/10
SUCH a great meal! Super tasty (some of the best morcilla Ive ever had), the meat was tender, and everything felt like it was prepared by your Argentinian nona.Theyre clearly short staffed, so please be patient with their team. There was only one server working the night we came and still the service was really great.Well definitely be coming back!
Everything was exceptionally good. From the service, to the ribeye to the wonderful flan. Definitely coming back. Well recommended.
The worst tasting food we ever hadNo seasoning not even saltWe had lasagna penne and chicken piccata all three dishes lacked salt and flavorChicken was so gummy and the sauce wateryJust the worst experience with my kidsWe had to go next door to eat because we left the food as it was
Best Enpanadas! Whole Menu is Delicious! Love There Sangria #1 in Customer Service! Monica and Rene Your The Best!
Phenomenal pink bolognese ravioli.Place has been consistently good for 20+ years.
Great service. Despite extreme shortages of staff, these folks have kept their service and food quality at top level. It did take a long time to get served, but that was completed by staff and expected
Empanadas are amazing. A hidden gem, amazing food and super friendly staff. Everything is delicious
Service is welcoming, the people serving here are really sweet. It was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I had the pastel de papa, which reminded me a lot of my step-dads own recipe from Chile. Good food, prices are fair.
Great Argentinian fare with impeccable service in a cozy, inviting atmosphere.Covid and all, this joint has been able to stick around; and for a good reason. Try their Milanesas, pasta entrees, empanadas, entraña (skirt steakwith chimichurri, paired with a sumptouos Malbec, or a fresh Chilean sea bass paired with a great cool-weather Patagonian Sauvignon Blanc. And...a meal is not complete without their to-die-for house-made flan con dulce de leche! Cheers!
The food was awesome!! But just the bathroom was a little stinky. 5 stars!
Excellent family owned restaurant. They are one of the friendliest restaurants and generally good peeps that serve Great food!
Great meal. Entraña "Skirt" Steak medium rare was perfect. The ham and cheese done perfect.. Nice and hot as they should be. Sausage added to plate.. Im coming back
Amazing food! Very good service. Can’t wait to come back soon!!(The meat was super soft!!)5/5!
i had such such high hopes of this restaurant.I eagerly waited for my delivery order.I open it to find, the tripe is NOT what you think it is (not cow stomach)and my empanadas were empty because the filling had fallen out while it was bring deep fried and the restaurant did not notice.incredible incredibly disappointedthe blood sausage was very good though
After having my first complete meal of Argentinian food, I am ready to crown Argentina "The Land of Good Livin". 75⁰ today, eating outside was a good start, but when I got my glass of Malbec wine, I couldnt think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.I started off with the Lengua a la Vinagretta; thinly sliced beef tongue in a vinegrette with garlic and parsley. It was sooo good. Also included was a basket of bread to soak up the vinegrette. Yum.Next I had the Asado de Tira, homestyle short ribs Papa al Mojo, roasted potatoes with toasted garlic and parsley. The restaurant, El Morfi is an excellent parrilla, but credit is also due to Downtown Glendale for setting up comfortable, safe outdoor seating. Thank you.
Have to give them 5 stars for customer service, safe & warm outdoor dinning set up. We enjoyed everything except the Paella, for it does not live up to my expectation. I am sure a different cook could make the dish tastier and seafood less dry.
Back in the before pandemic times, I would come here at least once a week for lunch. Probably some of the best food you can get in Glendale tbh. Dont think Ive ever had a bad meal here in the 2-ish years Ive been going. All the lunch specials are great.
Excellent Argentine cuisine! I came in for lunch and had the “Antipasto” salad and it was fantastic. Everything was fresh and crisp and came with a nice soft bread, fresh herbs and olive oil! I’ll be back again...highly recommended.
Ordered for takeout flavors were good but it was a bit cold but cant complain since its hard to eat at locations now. I will definitely be going again when Normal returns to give it a proper review..
Oh they had morcilla! And while it made me miss Buenos Aires more than anything else,it was delicious and gooey and made a perfect snack. Now if only they had choripan...just saying...some of us might be craving it and it would work incredibly well with the rapid empanada business. They talked me into the tiramisu, and normally I do not like tiramisu, but I think if I had started with this tiramisu I might have become a devotee of the dessert.
Ive been going to El Morfi for a long time. I highly recommend the pork chops with potatoes. The staff is very friendly and remember their clients. Great place to go with friends. Try the empanadas and take chimichurri sauce.
There are a number of dishes that we like. The prices are reasonable. We almost always dine here before we go to the local theater. The servers are pleasant and efficient. Try the eggplant parmigiana or the chicken pinata. But any dish is great!
With season tickets to the Glendale Center Theatre my friends and I are always looking for places to eat before the show in the area . Discovered this restaurant walking on Brand Blvd to another restaurant and decided to try it. Have returned many times. Great menu, well prepared foods, good prices, good service. Very convenient to the theatre.
Our server Ruth was great. We felt welcomed . The food was very good and fresh. The serving sizes are good. I reccomend this spot for people that want to sample a taste of Argentinean food. The music and the art on the walls gave it a unquiet Argentinean touch. We will be stopping by again soon. The FLAN is a MUST!
Ive only dined at El Morfi at lunch time and it has always been great. The staff has been very kind over the last three years Ive been going. When you sit down and order, they provide a basket of sliced bread with an amazing little plate of chimichurri. They will happily refill the chimichurri if asked (goes great on their pizza and with the empanadas). The empanadas have been great every time I order them. Theres usually a lunch special where you can get a bowl of soup with two empanadas for about $11. The jalapeno empanada and the onion empanada are my favorite. Theyre filled with cheese and each of the fillings enough where one does not over power the other. They occasionally have lentil soup and its great. It reminds me of my grandmothers, but it has large bits of beef diced up into it.The pizza is rather good as well. Ive only had pepperoni (recommendand the salami (its beef and I dont recommend it). The crust isnt thin, but it isnt thick. It does have a great taste and they put a good amount of cheese on it.Ive never gone during dinner, but I know they have a rotating heater unit outside with four types of empanadas to select. Consider skipping the heater and instead head inside. They have a bigger selection that will be made when you order.
Outstanding experience. Service is great, did is great. I had empanadas (spicy bed and spinachand grilled short ribs. You could tell they care about food prep and presentation. Every bite was thoroughly enjoyed.
It was our first time at El Morfi and it was absolutely delicious! We ordered several items from the appetizers section, empanadas, beef tongue, cheese dip and it was all yummy! Also "The Heraldos" Malbec bottle of wine was a great choice. We will definitely be returning!
Im maniac for Japanese Dish. But here, I dont complain. They really do great job!
Amazing empanadas and overall experience. Ruth was awesome as well!!
Ive been stopping by El Morfi for lunch or dinner for several years. The food is very good and the ham and cheese empanadas are world class. The staff is dedicated and super friendly. I definitely recommend this place. Without any question one of the best Argentinian restaurants in LA.
We had a great early dinner experience here. Rene and the ladies were super nice and welcoming during our visit. All the food is very delicious. The Entraña I had was amazing and very juicy, I recommend it. Gracias por todo!
Great food. Enjoy having the choice of an Italian dish or an Argentine dish.I just love their skirt steak, known as "entraña", but Im also crazy about their chicken piccata, all kinds of empanadas and their house chimichurri salsa. Please dont forget to end your meal with their delicious panqueques con cajeta!
Great place for Argentinian (or Uruguayanfood.I visit each time Im in town. The Pink Sauce Gnocchi and the Ham and Cheese empanadas are beyond description (specially the latter).
Tried their pastas and 🍕. Very good! That’s why I keep coming back. I wasn’t impressed by their desserts.
I love this place let me tell you it was my 3rd time yesterday night and I loved every single bite I had 😊😍 I recommend this place since it has a nice atmosphere and also as how clean it is, the chef wave at you when you passed by them since the kitchen is clear glass is such a warm and welcoming feeling! Cant wait to go back! 😊
I want to start with we went with an Argentinian friend fluent in Spanish who had been here at least several times before. I feel like we got the "Cheers", everyone knows your name experience. Very friendly staff. The food was all excellent. I had the Napolitana Milanesa, and it was excellent. Also got to sample the Ñoquis (gnocchis), made in house awesome!Try something a bit different, this place was delicious.
You know El Morfi is a true family restaurant I knew since I was born. It was opened by two brothers one of them owned it the other helped every day I see the owner doing his job making sure at everything is alright. I see his wife cleaning tables and setting them up. And their kids oh my they are such a help to their parents. And the employees are like their family because they always try to do their best in everything. Now lets help this family and go and try El Morfi. Please support them because they give the best service and really good but once again really good food. And by the way when I mentioned the part since I was born well its because these lovely people are my family. Thank you for your lovely support☺️☺️😄😄
Great place!!! I just moved to California from New York and I was looking for a restaurant that reminded me of the Argentinian restaurant I use to go to every Saturday and I found it!!! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. If youre looking for an authentic Argentinian restaurant, this is it!!! Try the empanadas, theyre great!
I came here and was torn between the Lasagna and another dish. Our server recommended the Lasagna and let me just say THANK YOU! Oh my goodness, that was one of, if not the best lasagnas that Ive EVER had. The flavor and quality are impeccable! Layers and layers of goodness. HIGHLY recommended. Ill definitely be back for more. Really good Sangria too!
Let me just say the owner is such a great guy and welcomes you in!! Great food! Love the empanadas most, but have heard that the pizza is quite good too! Great, cute atmosphere and good people behind the apron.
