El Meson Sandwiches (Viejo San Juan) in San Juan

Their sandwiches are always good and the meats fresh. The pastries/dessert they offer are always fresh and their coffee is great! Great place for a quick lunch.

Love coming here when visiting. Definitely, Try the Mallorca and Harina de maiz. Oatmeal is very good too. And dont forget the Quesito for dessert!!!

Had the omelette trio breakfast sandwich. Bread was amazing & super fresh that was toasted nicely. Hash browns were crispy. They have other sandwiches for lunch also.

Food was fast and the menu robust. I ordered a Pastrami and it was really good. Thin sliced and tender. Fries were hot and had good flavor. The Monte Cristo was nothing more than a ham and turkey sandwich. It was dry and left much to be desired.

If you are in San Juan, this is an awesome place for a Puerto Rican sandwich. Locals eat here, which always is a big clue. My sandwich could have fed 2 people.. the fries were hot and fresh. Reasonably priced. There is an upstairs where you can eat that is not so packed with people. The line was long, but they were fast on getting orders done.

Fast food sandwiches, but good quality. Lots of choices for any taste. Fries arent my favorite style but are good. Clean, quick service.

Hangry for some bfast.. short line, moved quickly.. the register lady didnt speak English but another lady who did stepped in quickly to help interpret. I asked for recommendations & that confused both of them so ordered a bfast Jamon, Huevo & Queso (picked cheddarsammich $2.99 🥪 & Cordato (with regular sugar0.99c ☕. Food & drink came out quickly - went upstairs with my goodies & found a seat overlooking the Plaza de Armas water fountain.. air conditioning was full blast & frosty. So delish.. hot, melty cheese 🤤 & the coffee was on point.My sister ordered same sammich 🥪.. she was a very happy customer & took a snooze 😴 while I did some work emails.My hubby met us there a little later (he had an urgent conference call he needed to attend& ordered same sammich & another Cordata for me.. again very happy customers ❤. He plugged up his laptop so we charge some of our mobiles & fitness watches. We finished up some more work emails then left.Highly recommend this place for bfast 👍👍

Hey folks... great eats! Pretty good prices! But honestly... their quite slow in service. If you have time to blow... for sure get some great lunch here. If your in any kind of a hury... Id say dont even get in line till you have the time. Ill go back.. but very aware of the time involved

I didn’t visit this location, but coffee is awesome best coffee ever! Love the sandwiches too, I had the omelet something and love it too, make sure to try the MESOTRON you wont regret it

Their signature sandwich spicy pernil(porkwas delicious. The pork was perfectly seasoned slow roasted on toasted roll with mayo and some lettuce and tomatoes.

Got the Island 3 meats (tripletaand Mallorca with ham and Swiss cheese. Lots of food for good price!

Every time I comeback to the Island, I make a stop at one of El Meson Restaurants. The biggest restaurant chain from Puerto Rico. Tasty, full filing, reasonably priced sandwiches. This restaurant located in Old San Juan is relatively small (like most businesses located in Old SJ). But, you can clearly see an effort from the crew to keep it as clean as possible. Everyone inside that kitchen was masked at all times. There are two different seating areas, one on the first level (in front of the ordering areaand another on the second floor. Im not going yo recommend a specific sandwich, but I will recommend switching the fries for "sorullitos de maiz". Believe me, you will love them! My picture shows the aftermath...

A must go anywhere you can find it. Beats Subway by a mile. Just the coffee and bread alone. Also the cheapest by far in this neighborhood. This is where the labor force goes. Good for them.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The ham, cheese and egg sandwich was really tasty. She recommended to add the butter and mayonnaise with it. I don’t regret it at all. Inexpensive breakfast. I definitely recommend this location.

Busy place but very quick service. We needed dinner and a quick breakfast for the morning so we got an extra sandwich to warm in the microwave in the morning. Breakfast sandwiches available all day!I tried the rotisserie chicken and it was really good! Sandwiches kept well overnight too.

If youre a vegetarian youve gotta try their veggie sandwiches! Their "meat" is similar to seitan strips so if youre into that then these will not disappoint. I had the philly and wish I could have tried the others. It was really delicious.

My family and I we visited this store on 5/10 .We had purchased 3 combo sandwiches that comes with a drink and fries.The food was ok ,the staff very rude and confused.I understand that is a pandemic and stores have to close at a certain hour ,but the staff not polite at all,confused and very unprofessional.After we purchased all this food ,they didn’t let my wife to use the restroom inside the store,and the cook that was preparing our food whistling at some other staff,the server getting our drinks ready was touching the inside our cups with no gloves on her hand.Poor managed and very rude.I will not recommend this to anyone.

I wish i wouldve tried this place on my first day in PR. They have locations everywhere! The food was so good. Philly steak sandwich, balsamic chicken wrap, traditional PR sandwiches and every other kind you can imagine. Highly recommend it

I was with my wife in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. We had a couples sandwiches with french fries and soft drinks. The sandwiches were very good. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. I recommend it.

Nice local sandwich place. We had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and a café con leche for breakfast for almost a week straight while traveling around the island. Not only because is cheap but because it was really good! Breakfast for two people under 8dlls. Love it!

Delicious breakfast or lunch at a great price. In old san juan so we started here and then were walking distance from it all. The iced coquito latte was pretty good.

We stopped here after the recommendation from a nearby shop owner, and it didnt disappoint. Simple sandwiches served up quick and at a good price. We ate a few delicious bacon, egg, cheese sandwiches, and service was exceptional and the bathrooms and entire restaurant were very clean.

Excellent choices. Can get pretty crowded. Theres a second floor for additional seating, with views to Plaza de Armas. When we went, the bathrooms on this floor were not available. Four stars for the wait in the only one bathroom stall downstairs.

the sandwiches were pretty good, simple but filling. fast service. not my favorite so I wouldnt eat here again but it is definitely worth going to and trying a few items for yourself. inexpensive menu with okay size portions. always a busy place

Ordered two breakfast sandwiches and both were completely cold. Large menu. Cheap. Will maybe try again for lunch in the future.

This place has vegetarian sandwiches and they can be modified to be vegan, then its decently tasty but not very filling.
