El Mercado - Gourmet grocery store in Vilnius, Lithuania
Amazing decoration and cozy place. Food is fine
Really great food and kind staff who served us quickly and with grace when we arrived late. Thanks so much! I hope to return!
Very cozy place, very delicious food. And the waitress was 10 from 10!!! Strongly recommend!!!
I want to provide a review on a Spanish restaurant named El Mercado. Entrance to the restaurant is located on one of the main streets of the old city of Vilnius, on Didzioji gatve. Besides, it is worth mentioning that it was sharing the inner yard with our hotel, which we were staying at. Our family was quite attracted to visit the place in question, because of the cosy and festive atmosphere, which was created through hanging a lot of coloured flags on the ropes under the sky and using sea-themed materials in decoration and furnishing, for instance, they used white and blue colour, dry reed and fresh fruits and vegetables in wooden boxes. In addition, there was incendiary Spanish music playing every evening quite loud. So, we gave it two tries, but the food was not as delicious as it was promising. Price tag was about 100 euro for 2 desserts, a small sea plate with seafood, and a small portion of pasta without any alcoholic beverages. It was quite expensive and not nutritious at all. However, the service was quite nice. Food was delivered by waiters under umbrellas from the main hall to the summer patio, in spite of the hard rain.I do not recommend this place, if you are starving to death and have scarce financial resources. But it is a good place to sip your glass of wine and listen to relaxing music while chatting with your partner or friend in the summer evening.
Simply pathetic.Plate of seafood - cold. Only a handful a mussels, 3 prawns, crab leg without basically any meat. No wet wipes presented with the dish.44€ for this plate is a joke.Meat plate. Same story. Pork was more chewable than the cheapest and tasteless bubble gum. Two lamb chops in a plate. Beef was the only good thing on this plate.Appetizers were subpar.Would not recommend.
Very nice place and beautiful yard. The tapas were good and also the wine
Poets at work! Delicious food, great atmosphere and a very good service (that even speaks perfect spanish and writes poems).Try the croquettas!
The place is just outstanding!Interior, food, service. The stuff is very friendly and helpful, gave us directions and advices we asked for. This place have a lot of spanish products to buy and dishes to try in house. We were mind blown by their green olives in garlic- paprika marinade. So far the most delicious olives we have even eaten (probably real spanish ones). Got extra portion with us.Highly recommended!!!! Best experience!
I was really happy about spanish food (tasting dinnerand service. You cal feel real Spain in the heart of Vilnius. Olives, cheese, chorizo, sea food: everything was owesom.
Decent food - particularly the cod fritters & chorizo. Unfortunately, the bar service is slow.
Simple and cozy Spanish restaurant, not a fancy high tech food lab. Go for mini squids and papas bravas, they are reminiscent to the tastes found in Canary islands. Cheese plate is also very delicious. Great wine card full of cavas and Spanish wine choices. Avoid paella, nothing special there. Check out the beautiful Barcelona pavement tiles when going to wc. If you opt for churros, it is advised to dip them in another desert, crema Catalana.
I love everything about Spain (travelled throughout all of itand what they have created here is a gem! Vibe, music and wonderful food - is a place not to be missed!!! ♥️
We wanted to have some sun, and they had all tables in the shade. Mojitos was ok but a bit pricy.
Ive visited this place a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, the food was amazing and the wine delicious. The wine is still delicious, but I was disappointed with the food. It was tasteless and everything was very oily. We had tapas, no mains. Im happy to see a Spanish tapas place in Vilnius, but I dont think Ill going back here for another couple of years.
Really great cocktails, tapas and full meals/dishes. Be sure to check out their Sunday brunch!
Nice experience with large range of spanish wines. I can definitely recommend Sauvignon Blanc.
I will say that if you are looking for testing Spanier food, this is a good place to try out.It has a great selection of dishes and a great variety of winery. Also you can buy some products for your home if you wish to enjoy of some Jamón from Spain.
Great vibe and service! Reasonable prices, good quality, fast service. Loved it!
Found this awesome Spanish wine bar on our travels. Artūras was really accommodating and made the experience great which made us stay an extra 3 hours than intended. Highly recommended ✌
Make sure you reserve your table on the ground floor, unless you like privacy. Loved the vibe the music good food and spanish size beer!
Loved the decor and service , good was amazing the lambchops and grilled mix. Warm and cozy in autumn and deserves to be visited on those long summer nights
Best Spanish experience! One could feel like in the center of Madrid. The tapas concept allows you to try as much as you wish. Impressive wine list!
Disappointing experience. Have been waiting for the appetizer (cheese platterfor at least 40 minutes, and then around one more hour for the main dish. The portions are ridiculously small and the prices are ridiculously expensive for nothing. Would never come back and definitely do not recommend to go.
Looks ok, but not sure what to eat here :/Asked for coffee and desserts. Got coffee and 15 minutes later got desserts. Because of reasons.
Cozy spanish restaurant in the very heart of Vilnius old town. Has a nice outside seating area when the weather is nice, and a gourmet shop inside. Dont forgo the desserts, they are worth a shot. Its definitely on the expensive side though.
Lovely inner yard. Outside also good when its raining. Good snacks (especially churros, fried seafood, shrimps). Main course menu has decreased only to paella (what a pitybut not sure if its only for outside.
Great experience and amazing food! We went there for a Sunday brunch, services was beyond our expectations - super friendly and attentitive, and oh food.. super! Definitely the place I will visit again. Nuoširdus ačiū visam personalui :)
Great place for some nice seafood and beer, the beer garden is awesome 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻👌👌👌👌
We enjoyed our dinner there. Will definitely come back and highly recommend 👍The food was very good. Cocktails were absolutely amazing, exactly what I like. Atmosphere was nice and cozy; we loved the terrace on the backyard. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
The place was very nicely put together. The food was "ok" we had seafood mainly The desserts were not good at all. Also very expensive for the experience
Seafood Paella (30euwas very tasteless, everything from rice to shrimp tasted exactly the same. I tried paella in Spain Malaga and frozen from local marketplace and there were 100times more taste. Taste was extremely bland. Also colleague got uncooked catch of the day, blood were pouring from that fish and got stomach ache. Ordered meat were mixed. Very disappointed. Tapas were good though. Maybe we were just too unlucky, but never coming back to that place. Good luck
High quality Spanish cuisine & tapas. Great selection of Spanish wines from all regions. High prices but it is worth trying. Cava Codorniu Maria Cristina was top as well as the Albariño by the glass. Also friendly service.
The staff was great, the place is cozy and the prices are acceptable. As for the food, it could be improved. The portion sizes were off, and the amount of seafood vs pasta in my dish was wrong (compared to restaurants in Spain). All in all a good place to visit and try different dishes.
Great appetizers, very mediocre main dishes - not worth their price. Also service is poor, menu isnt translated fully neither to Lithuanian, nor English. Vines are sold only in bottles - so works better for groups, not couples.
Cozy restaurant in the middle of Old Town with a very nice terrace hidden from passersby. Seafood of good quality, the staff is friendly and speak very good English. The prices are from moderate to high, but it worth to visit for a romantic dinner.
Kind of cool place design-wise. Drinks were good and strong, we had pasiflora cocktail and beer. Service was slow.
Really beautiful place with so cozy and romantic atmosphere in the heart of the city! Delicious food, pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed our dinner so much! The cat and beach sand are the cherries on top!
Great place for dinner in town! Delicious dishes and amazing atmosphere. Reminded me about a place in Alicante, just that here the food was definitely better and staff frendlier. If I need to find one negative point - meat we ordered arrived kind of cold, although all the other ingredients in plate were warm. Nevertheless giving 5 stars because ot was delicious!
The restaurant is a perfect place for dinner if you are searching where to eat in the city center. The food was delicious & the staff is super friendly! Recommendable
One of my fave places for a nice meal in Vilnius! Had a bottomless Sunday brunch recently and enjoyed it a lot! Great place for Spanish food or seafood lovers. Great atmosphere and superb staff.
Food was fantastic! Nice interior and very friendly and polite staff. Prices are higher than average in Vilnius, but sea food is always expensive.
The El Mercado is a great place to visit with your family or a company of friends. On one condition, you have to be fond of Spanish cuisine, because dishes is made of Spanish goat and other milk cheese, tasty sea food, long line of different taste and price wines. What I found interesting it is also serves as it is called El Mercado or a market, so you can buy fresh fish and other sea food to take away. Prices are higher than average in Vilnius.
The restaurant was full except the bar so I left, but decided to go back which Im glad I did or I would have missed some good food. The Paella is a must try, very delicious. Even though the restaurant was busy the paella was ready in 20 minutes, very impressive. The Crema Catanala is creamy with the taste of lemon, overall I enjoyed every bite of my meal.
Good place, right in the city center of Vilnius, worth visiting but keep in mind that is a bit expensive. I would say 35-40 Euros per person. Quite cosy, with nice wine selection and tasty paella 🥘!! Ideal for 1:1 or groups, but in this case you will need a reservation.
Spanish cuisine is very rare to be found in Vilnius. I would recommend this place especially for paellas and their sea food offerings. But it is very expensive IMHO. We paid 87eur for 2 persons, main and beer for each + one soup and one cheese cake. Too much even for Vilnius center.
The food is very good, but you need a lot of time, the waiting time is very long. At noon there is unfortunately only a small business lunch and nothing of the right menu. The service is only motivated if you wear a suit, otherwise you are guest of second choice.
Amazing tapas and good cava selection. Perfect interior, brings you back to Barcelona. Excelent service, prices are not low. Always vibrant, book a table in advance. Worth visiting
Great lunch selection. Salat and soup was really good. The deserts a bit too sweet, but still delicious.
I liked it, but there were few things missing to perfection. The interior is beautiful & snacks were very delicious, but I didnt enjoy the paella. Moreover, all of the wines form the weeks menu were very sour. However, I am definitely coming back to see if I can adjust my review.
Nice place. 2 areas - at bottom bar seats for tappas and dri ks plus few tables. In the upper floor brigth and nice place + place for children to play! Amazing food. Really!!! Prices are adequate to the market. You have definetly visit it!
