Paella is fine, the atmosphere is ok.But don’t know the reason why we don’t want to stay long.

Overall, incredibly quality of paella 🥘 Most of the tapas are decent and tasty, I would say a bit pricy but still affordable. Anyway I had a really delightful dining experience, will absolutely come back again.

Damn I gotta say El Marqués amazed me! Out of five stars

Super chill and delicious tapas place located in the city heart of Taipei. Order a sangria carafe as its of the right size and taste, get a few tapas plates, maybe paella if youre hungry, then enjoy your evening with great food, drinks and company.

Love their cuisine! Chef is a friendly and devoted individual who cares his customers. Delicious Spanish tapas and dishes. It is one of my favorite restaurants in town.

Best Spanish restaurant Ive been to in Taiwan, so far. Every singe dish we ordered was homemade, with top-qualitiy ingredients. Real Spanish taste. I recommend to try the croquetas (hard to find good ones in Taiwanand also the prawns with garlic sauce. We ordered a seafood fideua which was really great as well. For dessert we went with a rice pudding (arroz con lecheand, to my surprise, it was one of the best Ive ever had. The chef, Jorge, is a very friendly guy who did personally come over to greet us and ensure we were having a pleasant dinner. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic Spanish food at very reasonable prices! The chef Jorge is very friendly and came to check on us multiple times throughout our meal. The food is authentic Spanish fare and the presentation is very nice. The service was quick and efficient. Great experience and will definitely go again!P.S. dont forget to try the paella or fideua!

Wow, I never knew about this restaurant. What a fantastic restaurant.I was invited to have dinner with my friends at this restaurant. The food was fantastic ! I enjoyed it so much I want to bring my wife there for dinner. My favorite was their Paella (with crab). I wish I could make a Paella like that ! :)I cant wait to go again

If there were negative stars, I would give it the maximum minus points. First time dining here and utterly disappointed! I traveled in Barcelona and know what proper, authentic Spanish food is. We reserved a seafood paella, which turned out to be the most pathetic (and I use this word sparinglysight. The amount of rice was dismal, where we could see the bottom of the pan. Flavors lacking. The zucchini soup was flavorless and non-identifiable. As for the mushroom alioli, the jus and oil separated….The tastiest dish was skewered olive, anchovies, and pepper, which required cooking and merely assembling canned goods. Boyfriend said he felted robbed. A romantic date turned into a sore stomach and sour taste in the mouth.

Authentic, delicious Spanish cuisine and wines and surprisingly good gin selection. Jorge, the proprietor is friendly, laid-back and knowledgeable. A very special taste of Madrid found in Taipei!

Good service from staff, but quality of the dishes was underwhelming. The potatoes on the octopus + potato dish (picturedwas so soggy, soaked in oil. Every piece i tried to pick up disintegrates and falls off the fork. Basically had to scoop it, and it tasted pretty salty. Garlic shrimp was pretty salty as well.I could not believe how the paella (for twowas served (pictured). It came in a giant pan and there are sections of the pan where you can see the bottom of pan, as if they ran out of supplies and this is all they could find in the kitchen to put together for the dish. Like come on, i get that we ordered portions for two, but presentation of the dish is a huge part of the dining experience and no self respecting restaurant chef should approve a dish to be served like this. Paella itself was mediocre.Overall, i thought the prices were high for the food received. Maybe the kitchen was just having a bad day but i most likely won’t be back again for a redemption, sorry.

Cozy place with delicious food

TLDR: Vibe was warm and welcoming, but food was pretty horrid. Two stars for their customer service and Sangria!We ordered their tortilla, fried squid, and seafood risotto (not exactly their names on their menu). The tortilla was pan fried using a little bit too much oil. On top of that the oil was either bought from Costco or was expired.The squid was fried to a point where the legs were harder than twigs.The risotto was the biggest disappointment - our Spanish friends wouldve disowned the chef. The rice was too wet in the center and overcooked in the edges. Shrimps are nicely cooked but the clams was just disgusting.Upsides: loved their Sangria and their polite waitresses :)

Great food and friendly service. Love their patatas bravas and their salted cod croquette. Never tried their paella because it needed to be reserved in advance, but I heard its pretty good. Will definitely be back for the paella

Great Spanish food, great staff and a lovely restaurant, just go here you wont regret it.Hints :- If you like seafood, try the spicy garlic gambas youll be happy 😊 The pepper and blue cheese was fantastic and the desert, Dragon fruit and ice cream was particularly delicious.Probably my favourite Spanish restaurant in Taipei.

Charming little gem tucked away in an alley! Our party of 5 thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. The iberico ham variations, octopus and shrimp plates along with the sangria truly sated our cravings for authentic Spanish tapas! Very well done Jorge and team!! Well surely be back to try the paella next.

Pretty authentic and delicious coming from someone who has tried NYs Tapas restaurant and Barcelona. Tapas is one of my favorite types of food and this restaurant is on the top of my favorite restaurant list.

We had a really lovely dinner here on Saturday evening recently, the food was very tasty, and the staff were super nice, however, here are some of our polite observations that are likely to improve the customer experience, hope we dont offend:1. Please ask first if customers wish to purchase your water as most believe the water is free-of-charge.2. Please provide correct spoons for soup, not dessert spoons, this is because the soup can easily spill over the edges of a dessert spoon.3. Wine specialists recommend serving red-wine between 15~20 degrees celcius, not chilled.4. Try to avoid long waits between dishes.5. Please ask before removing plates.6. Please do not lean-over/through customers plate of food when removing finished or dirty dishes.Totally recommend this lovely restaurant to others... we will visit again soon, thank you.

We booked this fine dining restaurant because of a post on Business Week magazine, and our expectations were high also because of its 4.3 ranting on Google reviews. However, we were a bit disappointed and a bit overpricing for the full course of dinner.

A great place to be and enjoy, excellent food, great people, cosy authentic atmosphere. Do not leave without diving into the collection of Gin‘s.Makes me forget i cannot go to Barcelona right now!Back soon!!

Monday morning, walked in and no booking, the place was 80% full, being anti-social we opted to sit at the bar rather then at a table, it turned out to be the perfect place to watch the chefs at work as well as what other people were eating before we ordered.Got a bottle of Chardonnay with the Gildas, the wine a very characterful and dry, we found it has the perfect pairing with the food.Garlic shrimps were cooked perfect, needed a little more garlic to our taste (we love garlic), tortilla was a mini version of the classic, cooked fresh and still runny inside. The meatballs was a nice fusion creation and the reconstructed trotters was simply genius! The dessert was on the house, cinnamon ice cream inside a dragon fruit taco, an explosion of flavour yet refreshing.Chef Jorge took time for a chat a a drink, and together with the lovely lady (sorry we forgot to ask for your namewho served us they made this a warm homely neighbourhood joint. Officially one of my favourite in Taipei, have to come back to try their Gin collection next time!

Authentic Spanish cuisine in Taipei.Went to this restaurant on the 24th of December for having an authentic Christmas Spanish dinner. We other some tapas as appetizers and a leg of cochinillo (young pig). It was very tender meat and crunchy crust. Everything was tasty and well cooked. Despite not being in Spain, these flavors, as well as scrambled eggs or Piquillo pepper, all returned me to my land.Also, the service excellent and very attentive.I definitely recommend this place. It’s worth it.

Delicious traditional Spanish food, nice atmosphere and great value for money.

An excellent place for Spanish food with a nice spanis vibe. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I wish I had tried the paella, they need 24hrs advanced notice.

I have been here twice, at first time they served mind-blowing good food and service, we tried 5 tapas and the chef seems never failing to surprise us with his creativity and amazing seasoning skills. The quality of the ingredients is great and the chef makes sure he makes the best use of it. Sangria is extraordinary.However the second visit was a disappointment. I brought a bunch of friends and made reservations for a customized menu. The food was not what I expected, surprisingly bad seasoning and some of them overcooked(burned actually, pic attached.and totally losing it. I did not voice out immediately because I didn’t want to ruin my happy hours with friends. Hope the chef can really manage the quality control... it is really a shame.

I have the Valentine’s Day set menu today, the highlights were Peru sword fish ceviche and the consommé of Ibérico Bellota. The paella and main dishes were alright but not so impressive. The menu ended with a well prepared rice pudding. Overall it’s a good dining experience. One little flaw is the space is pretty small and the distance between two tables are extremely close.

Awesome place with delicious food and drinks and great service. The paella and tapas were all delicious and so was the gin tonic. The price is relatively high, but with food and service this good its definitely worth it. Will be back for sure.

Ive living in Asia for over 8 years and it was a great surprise to find out this place. Me and my Taiwanese wife really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and personal attention from the Spanish chef Jorge. Highly recommended.

I have visited 5 times in a year 😂 I have been missing Spanish food all time after staying in Barcelona for half year. Tapas is nice ,desserts are nice too.Cozy place :)love the place

Overall food is good, fairly priced and authentic, however, it is a little too greasy to my taste.I really don’t want to nag on the service but when I sat down the first thing I noticed was a dirty napkin and a few stains on the table. I asked the waiter to replaced it and he responded politely, where he also tried too hard taking away the plates and adding water too frequently, it is kind of distracting for me to enjoy the meal.I would like to revisit, to try other items on the menu but I’d hope the service and the cleanliness can be improved.

Great Spanish food with homey atmosphere.

So delicious! Every bite was perfect...the aioli mushroom dish was the best! And so was the caramelized onion goat cheese bruschetta, the quinoa, the vegetable tower...

A homey and sweet tapas bar. Food choice is limited but quite tasty. I am impressed with the variety. Wine selection can be improved. I like its warm atmosphere and the personal interaction with chef.

Its not like awful but its actually totally over rated. I think PStapas or whinos are much better than this restaurant, food wise, environment wise.

Extremely satisfying meal from owner chef Jorge. From the Spanish signature dish paella to simple tapas like the grilled mushrooms and scallops, everything we tried was excellent. They also have an amazing gin selection that are apparently whats "in" right now in Spain. Place is cozy and sits about 20ppl so reservation is probably recommended.

I’ve had my fair share of Spanish tapas in Taipei and this is hands down my current favorite.El Marques Tapas Bar is a homey establishment, the type where the owner is able to briefly leave the kitchen and personally greet you at your table. Price point is somewhere between appropriate and generous given the excellent quality of dishes and swift service provided.Some must-tries are the mushroom with aioli, suckling pig (which literally drew gasps from the neighboring table, to the point where one lady came over to take pics), and garlic shrimp, which I still dream about 🤤🤤🤤.I haven’t had a chance to try their gin and tonic, but the owner Jorge made it sound just absolutely incredible. Will be back for sure!

Just opened in May 2017, this homey Tapas bar had a good selection. Everything was well flavoured and well presented. The service was decent. Plates could have been changed throughout the meal and the order of the food could have been more well thought out.Excellent dishes:Quinoa saladArugula saladRoasted Mushroos with alioli sauceRoasted vegetable towerRoasted baby potatoesThe only dish that was disappointing was the garlic shrimps.Jorge, the owner, came out and spoke to us for a few minutes. It was a very pleasant touch. I suggest you book ahead as there is limited seating. Paella and suckling pig must be pre-ordered when you make reservations. Dont be surprised when a woman answers the phone nonchalantly. I think they are still working on telephone manners.

Excellent paella, suckling pig, and tapas. This place was not busy on a Saturday night. It deserves a lot more attention. Food is excellent... especially the paella. Spanish Chef and owner Jorge is from a little town outside of Madrid. We will definitely be back for the other stuff on the menu. Hidden Gem.

Surprisingly awesome Spanish restaurant thanks to recommendation from Google. We had 4 adults for dinner on an impromptu Sunday night. Shortly after our arrival the place was packed. The roast suckling pork ribs is the highlight, although everything was good. My parents also especially enjoyed the cold cut platter, the paella. We are not wine drinkers so had refreshing Moritz beers instead... Will definitely be back!

Amazing tapas, if you want cozy atmosphere and try real Spanish food you should definitely go here (went to few more Spanish restaraunts in taipei before but this one so far ahead). Very friendly and nice stuff,everyone speaks english very well. Great wine/drinks selection. Prices are affordable( we ordered 7-8 different tapas and few beers+cocktails, all together was 4k ntd). Highly recommended!
