El Jardin del Califa - Moroccan restaurant in Cadiz, Spain
We had a wonderful evening at Jardin del Califa. The service is very attentive and the ambiente makes you forgetting whats happening outside of the Jardin. There are also good vegetarian alternatives in the menu.
Always a great place. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here.
Delicious morrocan food! Loved it!
We stayed at this fantastic and charming hotel and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the restaurant.Magical and moorish small hotel with delicious and home baked breakfast goodies. In the loveliest settings on the square in beautiful Vejer. Will return one day
Very impressive and well worth revisiting.Portions are very generous and my advice is order to share. They offered blankets as it got cold But had no Gas Heaters which would have been more appropriate
Extremely lovely place with amazing food. It feels like you landed in a hidden, secret garden straight out of a tale from 1001 nights.
Top restaurant! The space itself is charming and the food is Gourmet quality! Dont forget to try their desserts, I still dream about it ☺️ was definitely a highlight in our Andalusian trip....
Ate lunch on the street area. Very friendly staff. Gorgeous Morrocan tapas, good value, tasty food, highly recommended
Very very delicious 👌🏼👌🏼
A wonderful place to eat and well worth a visit if you come to Vejer, could not fault a dish or course and the price was pretty reasonable as well.
Very nice atmosphere, beautiful, brilliant food and professional staff! We loved it! Definitely would recommend! Lamb cous cous, lamb tangine, cheesecake and baklava 💛
Food, service and location excellent. Very popular and just off the central plaza, I would strongly recommend booking as far in advance as possible. When booking, opt to eat in the outdoor terrace, its an amazing setting.
Nice set up some plates were good. The rest were ok. The mixed mezze almost comes mixed in the same plate. Portions are small. The Lebanese Taboule is nothing like the Lebanese Taboule
Beautiful restaurant in Vejer city center, amazing Moroccan food. Highly recommended and if you are traveling during summer time remember to book way in advance.
Just loved it. All of it. You have to experience it, nothing else to say
Even booking a few months in advance, we were restricted to a mid-afternoon midweek slot in early August. Wed been recommended this restuarant by two sets of friends when they learned we were holidaying in Andalucia. People often say, Dont believe the hype. In this case, go right ahead, Believe. From its setting, its decor, its ambience, its design, its service and the quality, presentation and taste of its food ... all good, really good.
Great moroccan meal in a lovely terrace. The service is also on point.
My favorite restaurant in Jerez.and one of the best in the region. Great choice of food. The location is so beautiful, friendly staff. Kid of fusion spanish/African/European. So many to chose from but really good and consistent quality. Highly recommended. Recommend to book a table...
Loved the Tagine of organic beef and prunes! And the selection of mezze.Very nice setting, great service.
I cant believe I havent reviewed this place before; its awesome, an obligatory stop if youre ever in Vejer de la Frontera or even Costa de la Luz.
Lovely infrastructure and even better food. The service was of high standard and very friendly. Highly recommended!
They don’t respond to reservation emails in a timely manner and therefore you can’t plan an evening nor is the telephone answered .Automated message says they are full for July & August, in other words they can afford to not reply to interested customers. Supply and demand I suppose.
I expected much more from this place. Food was tasty but nothing special. Big minus is that service can not speak single english in restaurant at this level.
Great and beautiful atmosphere. Delicious food.
Very beautiful place with a good food.
This is one of my favourite restaurants of all time, anywhere in the world. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.
Beautiful restaurant that serves fantastic Arabic food. Everything we ate was really good! Friendly and attentive service. Really good wines. Make sure to reserve a table or come early since its very popular.
Amazing restaurant. Food is simply delicious, they have plenty of options and I am super sad I havent tried more meals there.
An extensive, labyrinthine complex incorporating a hotel, a restaurant, and a café, it can be difficult to find your way around but the interior is fabulous. It does get extremely busy here, booking ahead for the restaurant is essential.
Wonderful hidden garden and great food. Lovely rooftop cafeteria with gorgeous views. Well worth a visit.
After waiting for more than half an hour finally the waiter showed up bringing the wrong drinks and ignored the question about ordering, letting us sitting in the rain without shelter. Rain fortunately stopped, but after 45 minutes we decided to leave, staff is absolutly overwhelmed.
Very characterful restaurant with N African style food. Would recommend.
Amazing food, unless you are there regularly, I suggest order multiple dishes and share amongst yourselves. Flavors are amazing.
Honestly I am a bit disappointed by this restaurant. The food is OK but the service is quite disappointing. You can clearly see they have no problem getting customers so they don’t have to make an effort. In a couple of occasions (e.g. when asking what they recommend on the menutheir attitude was annoyed and a bit rude..For the rest the location is nice, but make sure you can eat outside, otherwise the experience is quite plain
One of the most beautiful place I’ve ever been too, especially the tea place it’s just gorgeous!!! I will be back for sure!!! The food was amazing as well!!! OMG this place definitely made my day☺️☺️☺️
A Valentines lunch today in El Jardin. Simply the best, always has been and shows no sign of changing. We love our visits to Califa Hotel. We come all the way from UK for winter in Spain and look forward to El Jardin more than ever. Food, staff, atmosphere and the decoration get top marks. And, it was a delight to see Khardija again today. She is a really lovely lady and a perfect hostess. Well done to one and all. Don’t change anything…you’ve nailed it!! Best, Tim and Lisa
Had a wonderfull lunch. We were on a daytrip to Vejer and found this place on Google Maps. Decided to walk in and ask for a table. The kitchen was not open yet and most tables had been booked. Yet the friendly host managed to squeeze us in.What a treat! The food is impeccable. There is so much taste. I have no (negativeremarks on this place. 10/10 would recommend anyone.Just make sure you are on time, have a reservation and it’s a bit pricey (yet, not in comparison to what you get)
The restaurant was an experience. I had the special and thought the lamb was really good but it was a little too sweet. I enjoyed it there.
The food was excellent! The atmosphere really nice. The service also very friendly and good. The place is really beautiful. I will definitely go again soon.
One of the best restaurants in town , delicious food with good service and nice Arabian vibes 💯 their food are highly recommended 👍
Wonderful, atmospheric, romantic place with fabulous food! Lots of options for vegans. Great wine selection. Lovely staff. Downside: difficult to find a parking spot in town - we had to drive around for quite a bit.
Awesome place , excellent service , lovely staff. The good was too delicious.Don’t forget to order Moroccan tea after you eat.
One of the highlights during our three week trip to Spain. A difficult place to get to but well worth the walk uphill. The decor is stunning, the drinks perfectly mixed and the food was superb. Presentation, quality and quantity were excellent. Desert was great. If you are in southern Spain make plans to visit El Jardin del Califa. Reserve a month ahead of time, there is a good reason its hard to get a table here . . .its because it is so good!
Indeed a five star. Was sceptical at the beginning because of the huge top rated reviews but it was indeed a great culinary experience. Intense flavours for those who appreciate middle East dishes is a must. Reasonable to slightly elevated prices. Ambiance is beautiful
The BEST food I’ve tasted in a long while! Amazing flavours and spices, full of flavour and presented well! The restaurant itself is fantastic and so beautiful. The staff are so friendly yet professional. One of my favourite restaurants in Spain!
The garden is beautiful!!!The food was nice.
24th May 2021: 4 hours and a half of road travel from Portugal and we arrived slightly earlier to enjoy our Moroccan lunch experience. We had booked in advance for a table under the pergola and we were glad we did. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. Along with our first glass of Alhambra beer on tap we were given a small complimentary dish of what would probably be the best olives we have ever had. We shared the Mezze del Califa with 2 small baskets of scrumptious warm Moroccan flat bread and picos (traditional Spanish bite-size dried bread snacks). My partner chose the mixed-grill of barbecued meat available as a half portion and I went for the Monkfish and prawns barbecued skewer. Of course we shared all these delicious dishes. We decided to skip desert and coffee. Our bill totalled 57.80 euros including the breads and 4 glasses of beer. We would not normally pay so much for lunch but this was the opening of our short-break and we felt we needed a quality treat. The place is very popular for many obvious reasons and well located, The experience is full of charm and it is very relaxing. We parked for free a couple of terraces further down, under the shade of trees of a triangular shaped parking. Be mindful that this is an old village and streets are pretty narrow. We recommend that you check the restaurants well appointed website for a mouth-watering preview. Their menu, wine and dessert list are there with prices, available also in English. So this is the end of another highly recommended address. Bon appétit.
Amazing place and excellent food!
