Set in the city center, this bright hostel in a medieval building is a 7-minute walk from Granada Cathedral and 3 km from ancient palace, The Generalife.Colorful mixed and single-sex dorms, private rooms, studios and apartments include original features, such as wood beamed ceilings. Rooms add free Wi-Fi, and some have flat-screen TVs and en suite bathrooms. Studios add kitchenettes and sofabeds, while apartments have separate living rooms.Breakfast is offered (fee). There's also a shared guest kitchen, and pets are welcome.
Best hostel in Granada. Dont even look for another one. Lots of activities, all amazing. The staff is the best, they really care about making you feel at home. Didnt wanna leave!
Nice lively hostel. Great for meeting people. No complaints.
El Granado Hostel is a great place for (solotravellers in Granada. The hostel is very social and organises activities each day. Staff is super cool and friendly and gives you tons of recommendations. I stayed in the private room and was really suprised about how big it is (and how comfortable the bed was)! It is right in the center of Granada and everything is in walking distance.
Super happy vibe, there’s always fun activities happening that are easy to join. Amazing staff & clean quiet rooms. 10/10 recommend.
Excellent hostel! I wish more hostels would be like El Granado. Top notch check-in (if you book it directly via their websitewith nice rooftop to meet people. The only downside - the upper shower had cold water which I couldnt get any warmer even after waiting a minute or two for warm water to reach second floor.. Nevertheless, best hostel in Granada!
I was there on a school trip, when we weren’t walking, sight seeing or shopping the hostel was great too take a nap, socialize and relax on the terrace with friends
One of the best hostels I‘ve ever been ! Very kind and lovely stuff, very clean place, nicely decorated with a cool and clean vibe, good workspace and also good chillspace, nice and very easy for connecting with other people ! Dooope rooftop/terrasses and cool activities - especially the cave-dinner :)
Amazing place! Facilities are clean! The activities they have are amazing! Hike to cahorros and the cave dinner are must dos!!
Amazing hostel! Very nice common room where some people played guitar and you could easily socialize with everyone. The staff is incredibly nice and make you want to stay longer than you can. The activities were also guided very well and they are worth the price. I would absolutely recommend it!
It was more difficult to choose a hostel in this city but I am very thankful for having ended up here. First day I walked in and was offered wine and genuine Italian pasta (made by a volunteerand the rest is history. Met people my age that I really vibed with and a bunch of other zany characters which was also really fun. More than 4 diverse chilling spots make it a great place to hang out and chill and if one area isnt working for you its easy to switch it up.
I really enjoyed my stay at El Granado and is by far the best hostel Ive stayed in. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. It was very clean and definitely felt like home from home. I would totally recommend El Granado as a place to stay if youre ever visiting Granada
The location was very central, the shared bedrooms and the bathrooms were kept clean to a high standard. However, we ended up in a shared room with people who seemed to be staying there long term/ maybe living there who made us feel as though we were invading their space by just being there. We tried to be respectful as much as possible but some noise or people coming in and out of the room is to be expected in a shared hostel room. The people who were staying there long term were very unfriendly and made the stay somewhat uncomfortable. All in all, the hostel and it’s facilities were great but just a suggestion, perhaps keep long term guests separate from short-stay guests.
I really really liked it. Doing a mobility semester I spent a week there looking for flats. I was suprised how well it was in shape, very clean and tidy. The employees were really friendly and there were offered some small-scale social events like city tours, yoga etc. It was really easy to get in contact and with the accessible office space good to work there. What I didnt like was the lack of space to store things in the kitchen or in the 4-bedroom-bunkbed rooms. With a huge suitcase and just a locker it got a little annoying. Also the top-beds didn`t have any fabric to block the view, so only very little privacy there. But in this price-class I guess this is fine. Overall I really can recommend the hostel and would definetly go there again. Really a great way for starting my stay.
Very nice hostel with super friendly staff. The hostel organises activities such as family dinners, hikes and gipsy dinners. The gipsy dinner had already been recommended to me by another traveler in Italy and it really was an unique experience.
Best hostel in Granada! They have great activities, they have awesome staff, a huge kitchen and lots of places to hangout. The best definitely is the activites they have for their guests where everyone gets to socialize and have a great time. Had the best time here when I was in Spain.
El Granado provided the ultimate hostel experience! The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, the staff was beyond friendly, and the community atmosphere was amazing! Be sure to take advantage of the family dinners on the roof and, if possible, the Gypsy Cave dinner.
Absolutely had an amazing time at El Granado! The staff was more than amazing, very helpful with travel information and friendly. They arranged group events with other travelers so plenty to do! I loved the homey atmosphere they provided. Would definitely go again!
Nice social hostel, with respect for other people sleep. Clean bathrooms beds and kit hen. Nice sunset walking tour.Definitely recommend it!
Great rooftop, super daily activities, friendly and helpful staff! I particularly liked that the hostel had little curtains at each bunk bed that allowed for more privacy and better sleep :definitely will be back when in Granada again!
Superb hostel in beautiful building, really friendly staff, great roof terrace and kitchen, perfect location for exploring the city. There are various activities for those who want them - the city tour was a highlight, and a great way to meet other guests. Facilities are quite basic but everything works, everythings clean.
This hostel is amazing! The beds are very compfortable. The staff is great. They organize a lot of activities. Its very easy to meet people (for the solo travelers out there 😊. The cocktails are fantastic & cheap. The location is really central. I would definetley recommend anyone to stay there! I had the best time in Granada, perfect hostel, beautiful city!
One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Bathrooms and bedrooms are always super cleans. The rooftop terraces were a perfect place to hang out with everyone. All the staff were amazing. Hamza made me feel at home from the day he checked me in. Christina is the sweetest person in the world who brought us together with her amazing family dinners. Javier really took care of us when he took us out hiking and on the tapas tour. Will definitely come back here when I come back to Granada!
Since this was my first stay in a hostel I was a bit nervous, but I found a nice, friendly atmosphere, comfy bed, clean bathrooms, everything you need in a kitchen. The kitchen end the terraces are great commune spaces where you can meet everybody, guests and hostel personnel.
Booked there for 2 nights, stayed 10... This hostel is a rare gem, staff is super nice, the venue is really beautiful, beds are comfy and best of it all, the atmosphere in here was just soo good. Definitly in my top 5 hostel ever.Couldnt recommand enough
Where to begin... What was supposed to be a 1 month stay ended up being 2 and a half months. I fell in love with this place. It seems to attract the best people possible from every corner so theres always really good vibes and big adventures together. The people running the place and volunteers also add to this atmosphere and make it feel like a home. And its right in the centre so its super easy and quick to go and explore the rest of the city. Granada you are magic and I will be back!!!
OK, so... This is a hostel BUT its decorated/kitted out to the standard of a Hotel, I have personally stayed in 30+ different hostels and this is without a doubt the nicest. Also Roberto is a legend and Trufa (the dogis super cute! Love it here, will definitely stay again!
This was my first time staying in a hostel. It was an excellent experience. Everything was very clean and convenient. One of the things I really enjoyed about this hostel is all the activities they offer. I was traveling solo and the first day I arrived I went on a walking tour of the city with other people from the hostel. It was an amazing way to be introduced to Granada and I made friends along the way. The staff is friendly and helpful and there is an overall welcoming vibe. I would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic hostel, just 5 minutes walk from the cathedral.Great location with local shops and transport. Easy access to the nightlife but not noisy in the hostel.Very clean and modern facilities plus an excellent roof terrace.
An amazing, clean hostel! The staff is very helpful and provides various tours and community/family gatherings for the guests.. which provides a great way to learn about the city and connect to other travelers. This is the place to be if you want to spend a few days in Granada. I definitely plan to return if I come back though Granada!
Very good hostel if you want a comfortable and cheap place to stay. My favourite aspect of this hostel is that the dorms are very spacious. But its not easy to meet people, compared to other hostels. The only common place is the kitchen, very cosy place though. Nice little rooftop. The hostel is in the city center with the cathedral 5min away. Employees are nice.3 euros for the breakfast which is fair you can have bread cheese and turkey along with the usual coffee and stuff.
Absolutely great hostel!!! Location couldnt have been anymore perfect in relation to the main parts of the city. Staff were second to none went out of their way to suggest us many different things to do. The rooftop was almost being finished whilst we were staying and we shall definitely be returning to enjoy the beautiful space they have there! Beds were extremely comfy and all that you could ask for! Dont think twice about booking anywhere else in Granada the way to go is El Granado!!! Ole!
Pretty, friendly and comfortable accommodation in the centre of Granada, within walking distance of all the sights. Excellent value for money. They offer dormitories as well as individual rooms so you can choose according to your budget and the size of your party. I was very pleased with my stay.
Great hostel. Close to everything in Granada. As a solo traveler it was a great place to meet people. I especially enjoyed their tapas crawl, and that the do group activities you can join. There needs to be more bathrooms and showers, as there arent that many for the amount of people on each floor.
El Granado provided us the ideal stay in Granada! Every hostel worker was friendly and helpful, giving us directions and advice on our itinerary whenever we needed it. The shared spaces provided a fun atmosphere where we were able to meet and get to know other travelers. We ended up going on tours with other people staying at El Granado! In addition, the bathrooms and bedrooms are perfectly clean and tidy, the artwork of the hostel is cool, it is centrally located and possible to walk everywhere, and they serve a delicious breakfast every day. 10/10 would recommend El Granado!
I really enjoyed staying at El Granado Hostel. They were so friendly and helpful when I arrived in the heat of summer, with a detailed explanation of a map and local tips about where to eat, things to do, and how to book your Alhambra tickets last minute. Great location in the heart of the town, good clean facilities, sufficient bathrooms and showers, very social and also quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for other solo female travelers!
Very central and easy to get to, the staff are very nice and helpful. The hostel is designed to help guests meet, and the common areas are very friendly and homey. The rooms are comfy and washrooms are clean, they also have a small kitchenette. I would recommend you try not to stay in the ground floor room as it may get a bit noisy for an afternoon nap.
Quiet location with easy pedestrian access to the center of town and the railway station. The hostel is very homely, tidy and clean. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. I especially liked the communal kitchen/living room that was very homelike and well equipped. The addition of group dinners and tapas/bar tours added to the home like and welcoming experience. Id highly recommend, my favourite hotel in Spain.
The communal area was a good size for getting to know people, with a fully equipped kitchen to do your own cooking. I preferred the 6 bed dorm to the 3 bed because of space and privacy curtains available in the 6 bed dorm. The roof top patio is great but not well promoted. Hostel activities need a little more organization and a little more initiative from staff to really make the hostel welcoming.
I actually stayed here a few years ago, but they sent a little request to review and honestly, I remember it so well I thought Id give it a go.First of all, this IS a hostel. Adjust your expectations. But it is a very, very *good* hostel. Its cozy, the 4-bed dorm I stayed in was very comfortable and a good size - we werent packed in. It wasnt too loud; it doesnt seem to attract hard partiers. The communal areas were clean and well maintained, and it was social but not in an intense or forced way.The location is central, easy to find your way from because its not in the Albayzin, but still has a lot of character. Walking distance to almost everything you need in Granada, and an easy distance from the bus stops if you do need them. But the real kicker was that I was there as an international student, crashing until I could find an apartment - and the owners went out of their way to help all of us students find a place we loved. They gave accurate, practical advice on apartment hunting and the realities of Granada living (bottled gas, anyone?and made sure I didnt get ripped off. I appreciated it so very, very much and it made settling in to a new country much less daunting. So for anyone who is on their first trip to Spain, or overseas, you can trust this bunch. Theyre good people.
What a great hostel!! I have no complaints whatsoever! It got cleaned everyday, the kitchen is perfect to use daily, the common area is perfect for meeting people and socializing. This hostel is just like hostels should be! Nothing too big/industrial, no bars or forced activities to socialize. You just do whatever feels good and in this hostel, it will always (depending on how proactive you areend up in great stays with great fellow travelers! Also a great hostel to catch up on sleep because the rooms are almost dead silent and the bunkbeds are high quality. No squeeking, shaking or whatever.
Fantastic place to stay if youre in Granada, with good clean rooms, excellent service and location. In fact, the service was superb! I was in charge of booking a hostel for myself and five friends and somehow managed to make a mistake when doing the booking online - something which I only found out when we all arrived in the pouring rain and very wet. The owner was very good and understanding about it though and luckily we were able to get enough beds for us and we all laughed about it afterwards!
Best hostel we stayed at in Europe. Lovely common area / kitchen, some communal dinner events, guitar for use, rooftop terrace, and the private double room has spacious bathroom and lovely high ceiling. Very clean - Be aware theres no elevator. Staff were exceptionally helpful.
Wonderful and cozy place to stay! The atmosphere and experience of the hostel is amazing. People were friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and people were considerate. It is very good to sleep and rest there. I would recommend it if you want to tour or go on a holiday! I am looking forward to take my husband there in the future.
Technically I would give this hostel 4.5 stars for facilities, but everyone was so nice that Im bumping it up to 5 stars for this review. It was easy to get here from Granada airport with the airport bus, and the taxi back (arranged by the hostelcost a little under 30 euros. When we checked in, we were met by Charlotte, who was extremely welcoming and helpful. She went over a map of Granada with us and gave recommendations for sightseeing and food. Marco the next night was great about answering questions and returning my storage locker deposit. Towel rental is 2 euros but for locks you have a refundable deposit! They also sell drinks for good prices (e.g., water for 1 euro). The hostel is centrally located, at a flat part of the city.My friend and I stayed in the female only 6 bed dorm. Apparently this is the only one with air conditioning and so sleeping on the top bunk it was hard to keep cool with the fans. Storage locker is in one corner of the room and not under the bed as we saw at other hostels. The shower is also tiny with no shelf for you to put shampoo, etc. so kept bumping into the door whenever I had to pick something up. We stayed there for two nights and the bath mat was very dirty, by the time we checked out. Next time I would just ask for a replacement after the first night.
The place was perfect for a any length of stay in the heart of the city by the college. I felt safe and it had a great courtyard. Met a lot of good people in my short stay . They seem dedicated to their job and are there at all hours to help as I had late check in
This was my first time at a hostel, and the first time I’ve ever been inclined to write a review. My stay was excellent, comfortable and magical. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and made me feel like I was at a home. Leticia and Daniel, in particular went out of their way to make sure everyone had a great experience in Granada. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet and exciting environment. I hope to come back soon!
Had a great stay here and enjoyed the location a whole lot. It was close enough to walk to all the touristy spots but just far enough to feel like a refuge from that scene. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a more quiet/mature hostel crowd. As far as the accommodations go, Id say it is about average for hostels.
Fantastic hostel, great location and so atmospheric. Felt like you were stepping into an oasis of calm. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff, and very pleasant, relaxing communal areas. The rooms were well appointed, clean and quiet. Would highly recommend and cant wait to stay again.
Amazing hostel with modern facilities. The bunk beds are three high but they are very sturdy and each one comes with its own plug socket, lamp and mini bedside “table”. The kitchen/dining room area is a great space for sharing experiences and meeting new friends! Would definitely stay again, great hostel!
Best hostel ever! Perfect for any kind of vacation! I went there to relax a few days and to meet people, which was easy with the sangria evenings, common dinners and nights out together. The whole time there was a really great vibe, especially thanks to the staff which was really friendly! This was the most beautiful hostel Ive been to. Moreover it is just a short walk from all of Granadas best bars and the city center.
