THE River Cat of Cali!- 2022/08/15
Relaxing walk en el parque de los gatos, with the sound of Cali river!
A riverwalk, a shady natural space, and a themed art gallery all in one. Lovely must-see spot in Cali, perfect for a stroll!
This place is spectacular, it shows a great variety of cats that will blow your mind. Unexpected cat figures for any art or cat lover. Also a great scenery since is by the riverside. One of the place every person must visit if they are in Cali, Colombia. Be sure to get your camera ready since these cats are unique from this place. Finally the best thing is that is free.
Owesome!!! We liked to visit this pleace!!!
The true Art hearth of Santiago de Cali. This is a place were you travel inside your childhood, under the eye of an artist.Dont lose the brides of the cat, a proposal made by many Colombian artist as a tribute to Fernando Tejada. If you dont visit Tejadass Cat and ist brides, you didnt visit Cali.
Lots of interesting cat sculptures to look at
It was so beautiful to see these pieces of art near the river. You can also buy mini sculptures of the same cats displayed in the museum nearby. My only comment as a tourist who doesn’t speak spanish is to provide the description of each piece in english. It was only in spanish
Beautiful little park, nestled in the heart of a bustling city. There is plenty of fine dining a short walk away so I would suggest eating and then walking this park to burn a few calories.
Iconic place in Cali. Right next you can visit the Gatas park which is really nice too.
Nice sculptures along the Rio Cali!
This is a nice place and the green spaces are very quiet and safe. It is a good place to spend afternoon with family and friends
I love it amazing place. Beautiful park.
Nice place to walk around to admire the big cat and his girlfriends. Also, you can enjoy a coffee or ice cream in Ventolini on the other side of the street.
Urban art, iconic place from Cali, located by the river in the west side of the city. normaly a safe area with police presence.... But you need to keep aware for any suspect who approach to you.The Cat of the river and his fiances its a must if you came to Cali !
Very unique, really enjoy visiting it. Recommend ;)
This city is into cats. I love it. A park by the river with statues of many cats with descriptions of the history of it. lovely.
Are you a cat addict? I recommend you go to this place ... Several artists have left their mark relating sculptures of cats (femalebehind a the Tejada cat (male). Go in the afternoons or at night. You can then go to one of the bars next to the park, or you can walk to the Peñon Park.
Cute little park with cat statues that tell different stories and share tidbits of the culture of Cali.
Take a walk along the river from the "Simón Bolívar" Park all the way up to "El Gato" you can feel the city vibe and enjoy the birds and nature.
Filled with many many cat sculptures with all kinds of stories behind them. If you are visiting Cali this is a must see. If you move quickly you could see the place in about a half hour but I recommend reserving at least an hour to better appreciate the sculptures.
Wonderful place for picture taking, a stroll, or grab some lunch or ice cream at dozens of shops all around the park. The kids will love the cat statues and the adults can read the interesting story of each cat. The park runs next to the river in a clean, safe part of Cali.
Its fun and you can let your imagination flow
Cat lovers delight. Many feline related art work right by Cali River, in a tourist zone.
We took an evening stroll through this area and it is really very pretty with the variety of cat sculptures all with their own meanings. We felt safe at all times, this is a lively area so if you are in the vicinity make sure you pass by.
Great place to spend your evening walking and seeing some cool and colorful sculptures. La Tertulia museum is pretty close and there’s some restaurants around you can go to. Also, the location is pretty close to most of the tourist life of the city so you can walk almost everywhere.Oh and don’t forget to go to the Cali sign that’s located a few minutes away. You can’t leave without a photo there.
Very nice neighborhood. Clean and green. Well kept statues of the cats. Walking around in the evening is great for anyone. Restaurants are around for a quick bite and taking pictures is always a great idea.
How do you rate something like this! When in Cali it’s worth a look. Lots of crockery cats!! Very colourful and unusual.
Nice statue and original set up
Lots of cat sculptures. Nice park.
Excellent place full of culture and art. If you know the story behind the cat, it makes it all more special. The area around it is awesome to walk around too! Visit el peñón or granada if you are looking for a nice bar or restaurant. Or walk to the other side of the river to the museum the tertulia.
Interesting, cheeky tourist spot with a fun story about it, as with many Cali places & symbols. Lots of workout enthusiasts here weeknights. Restaurants across the road are great spots to people watch.
Beautiful place for taking some pics. It is a must-see if youre visiting Cali. It has a short path with the sculptures of some representative cats donated to the City by different artist on both sides, and of course, the biggest and most important one "El Gato de Tejada". Located in the west area of the city.
Go here with a date to take some pictures and choose your favorite cat. Not very interesting to do by yourself.
Nice park. One of the nicest one the city. Also with dozens of these cat sculptures its pretty cool. Walk a little bit further and youll find the Cali sign for more photos.
Cute little strip of land by the river and surrounded by trees where there are several differently styled and painted cat sculptures. Takes about 10 minutes to stroll through and take a few pictures. Nice spot and a little novelty tucked away in a sprawling city. Its lovely when you find something a little different from a usual tiny park unless you hate cats 😂
Great place for a Sunday walk - nice walkway by the river with interesting cat sculptures- good for kids and adults - I enjoyed it
Cute, nice place to walk and rest. VERY unique
I enjoyed this Park very much. All the"The Cats" are really Beautiful with pernitent information about the Sculptures given. The park, The Trees and green area, The River makes this site even more interesting. Id highly recommend it.
It is like an malecón showing different cats figures with a short story of them. Right here there is a antique big tree, Around This place there are several shops to buy souvenirs
Nice but not amazing. This is the kind of thing tourists want to see but the Cali Government needs to invest a little more to make this a better attraction. Think better pathways around the sculptures, landscaping, restroom facilities etc. Also none of the explanations were in english.
Nice cats as Lucky Tanner, Sox Clinton, Felix, or Lucky Moreno :D
It is a good place to walk around! I do like the idea that all the gatas, want to call the attention of El Gato del Rio !
When one statue of a cat was erected to watch over the river the Caleños couldnt stop themselves from placing a cat harem behind it to keep the original happy. Original artwork and a Cali classic. Worth the 5 minute walk through a wonderful park on the north side of Cali close to San Antonio.
Very nice place to visit in Cali, it is like an outdoor museum.
Its a park filled with cat sculptures. On one hand its as lame as it sounds. But on the other hand the whimsical artist experiment is charming and interesting if you can read the signs that are, understandably, only in Español. The hell-raiser cat is definitely fun, just dont trip and fall into it. The surrounding area is awesome and the ice cream shop across the street is excellent.
Some artist made a cat. Another artist decided it needed a mate. Other artists decided they needed friends. And was born cat park
Interesting stop if you have a some time to kill. Not too impressive.
Nice little park with cat sculptures decorated by different artists.
