El Faro de Puntarenas - Museum in Esparza, Costa Rica
It is small, nothing special
Great place to visit as there went many people, water was warm, and did the dolphin tour with a local fisherman (2500 colones per personand saw many pods of dolphins. Food vendors and retailers were good and prices were pretty good. It was a great day to spend here!
The view is amazing
Cool little lighthouse, lots of parking spots around.
Not so nice to get here, but there are a lot of restaurants and it has a nice cool breeze (when you get near the water).
Really nice spot for a beach side walk, specially at afternoon.
A nice place to hang out and take some pics :just make sure to arrive early so you dont run into too many people. The place and the beach was nice, but the dumpsters were flooded with garbage, not a nice view. But overall, I liked the place.
View to Pacific is great, place itself is not much interesting.
Awesome view, worth seeing if youre passing through!
Puntarena was a big Port in the past, I had bigger expectations, to bad it was not taking care
Great place to experience if you are close by. Night life was good w plenty of restaurants/bars close by and local activities going on.
Cultural landmark for the area. Very refreshing winds on the west side. Worth a visit even if only for a few minutes.
Its just OK... not a tourist attraction in comparison to so many other places in Costa Rica. You can skip it and not feel that youve missed out.
"El Puerto" has its magic attraction still. Got to eat a churchill
Nice but the city looks like running down.
Excellent place to visit, very touristic
Incredible place! Definetely will come back during the daylight.
Beautiful and the locals are lovely. I adore cats and there are many around the spot.
Cute little place to see the sunset .... street vendors ... good food ....
Very busy place. A lot of street vendors selling snacks. A lot of restaurants by the playa. Nice place to hangout
A nice place were you can go with friends and or family see the pretty view nice sunsets and good breeze, perfect spot handy to any needs you May have on a small outting...
We fell in love with this place and its people. Very friendly specially the people at the Aldea Restaurant
Nice public area for walking pictures and enjoying the view... No facilities
Very pretty but there were too many people out late at night for pandemic going on.
Very nice for a good picture. Dont come if its raining!
Best sun set view point in Puntarenas, CR
Amazing sun set
Beautiful quiet place. Sunsets are beautiful from here.A must visit if youre in Puntarenas and like nature.
We were driving to monteverde and stopped here as it was on the way. The lighthouse is tiny. You can walk around the area a bit , the landscape is beautiful. We visited this place in December 1 st week ( 2019). This place was super deserted. We paid 2000 colones for parking to a guy who looked official . I think it was a ripoff since it looked like free parking - I could be wrong.
Its a small lighthouse, more a tourist attraction then everything else. Nevertheless, it seems that Puntarenas is doing more to attract people to this nice place.
Simplity wonderful, if you go to el Paseo de los turistas, you definetely need to stop by this place, Nostalgic and from the Old school this lighthouse will make you feel like if you are about to go into a cruise trip, i had great times around this place with my friends and the sight to the sea is just incredible.
Great views of sunset in a dead tourist town. Lots of stray cats everywhere. Water is not for beach water -- more so for fishing.
The lighthouse seems to too small and short to be of much use for navigation but it is adorable, well kept and scenic. Unlike the towering lighthouses in the U.S.A., you cannot go up into it for a view of the area. I asked the locals about it and was told that it used to be important and functional but nowadays it is not much more than a tourist attraction.
The area was very slow due to the season, so many places were closed. The lighthouse is a small one that has been decommissioned, but in great shape. It would be nice to visit the area again in the prime season.
A short, squat, cute lighthouse on a clean, gorgeous boardwalk overlooking the ocean.
Nice place!
Terrific sunsets with the locals.
Nice to visit alone, partner or family
Good ambiance at night. A nice place to spend good night.
Great place to watch the sunset and eat local street food.
Beautiful sight seeing
Its a quick site to see. Non-functioning lighthouse. Beaches are nice. Views a good. Cats all over the place.
You may enjoy walks with family, loved one or friends. At night you may feel the nice breeze from the coast.
Nice lighthouse next to the municipal pool
Nice place, good views!
Quaint, beautiful spot. Local restaurant closed, but plans to reopen.
Nice little park with a great view.
Nice place to see the sunset
Gorgeous view of the gulf! If you have time before/after the ferry, take a few photos.
Its a landmark of Puntarenas, really famous... Whoever goes to Puntarenas needs to stop there and snap a photo.
