El Choco National Park - National park in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic
Come to Climbers! Excelent !!
Great experience, to see another part of the North Coast of the Dominican Republic!
Guided tour of 1.5-2 hrs for 20$/person ; an access to 3 beautiful caves with the possibility of swimming in two of them, a nice jungle walk with the botanical local curiosities shared on the way, and the remains of "Jungle Johns" club (must have been quite cool when it existed). Great place to visit when spending some time in Cabarete.
Its a lot of fun and its beautiful. The guides are really nice its $20 per person including the guides.
Great to visit
Easy access, great experience, low cost and really fun activity.
Caves are privatized, must pay $20 each person to a private company to see. National park is only surrounding the caves. Very disappointed.
So beautiful
Awesome company
Awesome place to visit, locals were very friendly.
It was awesome, the weather was clear on the way up, but once we got there it got nice an foggy. Loved it.
A quiet and peaceful place, in touch with nature and amazing clean water
Natural misty flowing through the air
Very beautiful forrest.
Absolute scam. After being ripped off, my girl friend and I went to the Ministry of Environment I’m Santo Domingo and reported these thieves. Hopefully things will change soon. The bracelet they give you days $1 but they charge you $20 just to see 2 caves. And only for a short time. This entire country should be avoided. Instead go to the Bahamas or Mallorca or anywhere where they don’t take advantage of you for being a “gringo”. Y ahora un mensaje por los ladrones guías que trabajan en el choco. Tú vas a estar pronto y voy a regresar y me voy a reír de ti viviendo en las calles
They need help with keeping this place worthy of a visit.. the people there are special and would welcome your visit
This is an absolute scam and should be avoided at all cost. The guy who runs it charges $20 per person and claims that no one else is allowed to the national reserve. No surprise this happens in Cabarete. It is an absolute wild west. We were told that the fee would be around 100 pesos plus a tip for a guide so that you do not get lost in the jungle. The Cabaretes officials should take care of this and get rid of this guy. What a shame. Please stay away.
Nice place to spend an afternoon.
Good place, if you like the adventure.
Great place to visit and explore
Caves!!!
Nice place but now only 2 caves available. And They dont tell you in reception. Swiming Cave is great for cooling after trip
Wonderful place come and see it
Awesome landscape however administration will always ask you for money, poor organized
Not much to see, very short tour, less than one hour. Small caves, very short walk. Sales pitches along way for jewelry. Not worth the price of tour. Thought that there would be more hiking and interesting sights.
Nice country side
Great tour, the caves are impressive and have underwater pools.
Nice Montanas
Zip lining and the monkey jungle are located here. The road is in decent shape until you are half way in and then suddenly it gets very rough and just as you think that it cant possibly be here, you will see another sign encouraging you to continue. Once you are there, it is worth the trip.
Beginning development, very bumpy road there but black topped. Marcus speaks English but all others only Spanish. Rugged walking to caves.
This place isnt only a super good plqce to visit and have a lot of fun join the natural and manantial clear waters also you can swim and dive the water inside the caves. Scuba diving is practice in this caves. I recommended this Natural Monument to all!!! Family, kids and blue moon😁😁😁
Nice place, 3 little caves, friendly people and in mine opinion very overpriced
They will yet and charge you double of you walk away they one down in half
It is very close to main part of Cabarete. Guides talk about flora and take you to three caves. The second is largest with nice stalagmites and stalagtites. The third is small but has a six meter deep pool into which you can jump from about 2.5 meters. Enjoyable 2 hours. Maybe a bit pricey at $20 pp but the park gets proceeds.
Excellent experience in the Caves of Cabarete in the north of the Dominican Republic.
Interesting. Worth to see, but. . The tickets cost 100 pesos, but seeing the tourist, they offer at the entrance only the trip at the price of 20 USD. This makes 1.000 pesos !
Tourist trap! Go with a local to avoid being ripped off.
Wonderful place to see
Fun exciting interesting
Beautiful and nice place
Great to see the jungle.
This is not a national park. The caves are worth checking out!
Speechless. Amazing. We are not your average Joe travelers, we are high-end, local spots, hidden gem type travelers... but this place, yes. Highly recommend!!!!
Very nice
Exelent for biking and running, but dont have sign or indications.
Beautiful park with Monkey Jungle zip line on top. We didnt hike in the park itself as we didnt have a guide. When we arrived there were no monkeys unfortunately. Zip lines are fun, take about one and a half hour and cost around 50 bucks which is quite a lot of you compare it to 27 waterfalls. Make sure to bring cash as they do not accept cards. We had to go all the way to Sosua supermarket to get cash afterwards and the guy on the motorbike charged us extra 500 for going with us. The road is quite bumpy in the end (last 3 milesbut it is doable even in a normal small car, you dont need SUV
An undiscovered gem. Find a local who will act as your guide
Very nice and cute
If you love natural beauty definitely you will love this place
Fantastic location, very quite and beatifull
