El Canaveral Mexican Restaurant - Mexican restaurant in Cabot, United States
We had a good experience. The food and service were good. There were plenty of options on the menu, and I enjoyed what I ordered. The prices were fair, and the service was quick. Would eat here again, but not my top choice in town.
Don’t waste your $ here! There are way better Mexican restaurant options in Cabot. Asked for fresh to-go chips for my cheese dip and they brought me a bag for the 5 chips left in the basket from my dine-in lunch. Rudest staff and never busy. Wonder why?
All good for an after church lunch with the boys.
Always friendly, food is great, only thing i have ever had an issue with is there is t enough seasoning on the chicken.
Food was not good customer service was horrible
Came here for lunch since we are working in m Cabot. Ordered the El Cavañetal 8.oz steak with shrim and scallops and side salad. Our food was brought to us and I didn’t realize that my scallops were missing until mid way through. Asked the waitress about the missing scallops and she said sorry I don’t even know what they are. She went back to the back and I’m assuming she asked someone and then came back to the table and said sorry we are not serving scallops. I proceeded to tell her then I should be charged full price for the meal since the seafood part was why the dish was more expensive. She went back to the back and then came back and said sorry the price is still the same scallops or not. She said she just receives orders and she can’t do anything about it. This was the 1st and last time coming to this place and honestly the food was not good at all and definitely not Mexican food.
Prompt service. Wonderful food.
In short, my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Cabot. food was fantastic they were not busy and the prices were reasonable. I usually just eat the refried beans because why not but these were delicious I would eat them by themselves.
My husband and I really like this place. Clean, good food, good portions.
If you want real deal small town Family Ran and Staffed,(yes I spent three months in a real Mexican small town Family Ran and Staffed Mexican food place 40ish miles south of Rosarito Mexico helping rebuilding houses after a hurricane sometimes Young adults need as much Patience as kids🤗
This place is a lovely gem! The decor is cozy and inviting and the food cant be beat.
Surprisingly not bad. The chips and salsa were great, looked like homemade chips that were warm and the salsa tasted fresh and wasnt too spicy 😋. I had fajitas and they were also really good and my son had a big ole burrito that he devoured. The reason for 4 stard was because the fajitas we not served with cheese and the guac was pretty thin, mostly it was a pile of lettuce with a tablespoon of other stuff on top. Also, the cheese sauce was the consistency of milk. We find that a lot in this state which to us is just weird and not palatable for cheese. All in all not bad and the bathrooms were clean so that says a lot!
Delicious food for sure but they do need some ceiling fans & they would be complete.
Worst service and food ever the good reviews are mostly from the employees will never eat here again
They were rude, food was cold. Got charged for a kids drink when I ordered a meal. Ridiculous. Have never had such bad Mexican food than I did from there. Cheese dip was cold. So bad: and so expensive.
One of our favorite places in town. Casual, and everyone is very nice.
Used to be one of our favorites until today.Went in to order a to go, waited the 15 minutes for our food. Went in to pay and their machine wouldn’t read the card we were using, chip or strip. The girl said they aren’t allowed to type it in manually. I even asked for a manager, there wasn’t one there. Luckily I had another card to use (but this won’t always be the case so what do they do when they can’t type it in and someone doesn’t have a different way to pay so in the time I went out to my car to get an alternate card to pay, I walked back in and the girl had given away our order! Someone else had came in for a call in order and she gave our food to them ! Didn’t double check their order, let them leave with our food. So we said forget it and left.
Horrible cheese dip. Do not order. It was cold flavorless and had a milk consistency. Worst cheese dip I ever had. It was served in a styrofoam cup. Really? Fajitas were ok and service was good. I complained about the cheese dip and was told we get that a lot. Take it off the menu for Gods sake. First and last visit. Stay away you can do better anywhere else.
Calling order yesterday, though want to get something different today, just realize they block my phone number ? Whats going on ? I even leave a $ for total 15$ togo when i pick up my order, didnt complain anything when i pick up my food! If i can leave a 0 star i would!!
The food was good the service was nice food hot the restaurant looked clean
Food and service is okay. Had not eaten there in a while. The cheese dip is too expensive and like water. The guacamole wasnt much thicker. Our main courses were good!
Awful, the woman who runs the place was extremely rude, they didnt even have common sense enough to ring my 5 year Olds food up as a kids meal, charges me ala Carte for bean burrito small kids drink and fries..makes no sense and the quality if the food was awful!!
This was the worst experience I have ever had. The food was horrible, and we were told when we entered they only had water, or tea to drink. The cheese dip was watery. I dont know if they were trying to close and were made to stay open. Because the service was bad too.We will not be back and will spread the word!!!
I dont normally leave bad reviews, but jeez. Husband and I went in during dinner hours. They werent busy. Got us seated right away and informed us the fountain machine is broken. No biggie. Ordered 2 waters. Someone else delivers chips and salsa to our table. A few more minutes go by. A 3rd person finally asks if we had ordered drinks yet to which we reply 2 waters. He then yells across the restaurant to the guy who forgot our drinks that he had done just that. All is ok after this until the food shows up. My husbands molé looks and tastes ok. However, my burrito California is nearly inedible. Supposed to come topped with cheese sauce and pico de gallo. Theres hardly any cheese (which is thin as water btwand no pico anywhere. I dont complain and begin eating anyway as a party of 18 was getting seated next to us now. The onions were unchewable. As in they obviously hadnt peeled the outer layer off. The chicken had an odd, chewy texture that chicken simply should not have. And while Im a big fan of cilantro, never thought there could be such a thing as too much, I was proven wrong. The service and food were subpar to put it very kindly. If youre looking decent texmex nearby, go to Guadalajara or better yet make the drive to Ward for Cocos. Its beyond worth the drive to avoid your inevitable disappointment from eating here.
Tonight is the second time me and my family has ordered from here, and the second time this place has messed up our order. First time our two kids received nothing but beans and rice in their kids meal. This time instead of the two kids meals we ordered we only got one and didn’t receive their drinks either. I called them to let them know all of this and was spoken to very rudely and then was hung up on. I called back to give them the benefit of the doubt in case we just got disconnected and as soon as they heard my voice I was hung up on again.
Great carnitas. If you think these prices are high you probably need to travel more. Avg plate is $13. No alcohol, but I suspect thats a county thing. Over all a very good experience. Thanks!
They were amazing! We love the staff and the food. Fast and friendly service!!
I would not have rated one star...it made me give it atleast that. This place was horrible. I cant believe they are open and in buisness. The salsa itself was so hot it could not be eaten by any member of my family. The drinks tasted awful. Old and flat. When we mentioned that the drinks didnt taste right we were treated rudely. We paid for drinks we didnt drink and left the restaurant very displeased. The service was awful and they refused to listen to us. They misunderstood our English maybe(just guessing). We were charged 12.00 for drinks we didnt even drink. When we said we didnt drink them because we could not due to the fact they tasted terrible, they tried to get us to get them to go. We said not unless they will taste better. She then got rude and insisted we pay or we would be stealing. If any they robbed us. We paid as it was the decent thing to do. Felt responsible to warn anyone eating here. Please be weary of this business.
Great food. Great price. We have tried 10 to 15 other Mexican restaurants and this is our favorite. The staff is very friendly and remembers what we always order. Nettie is the best and part of why we keep going back.
My god I love this place. I eat here too much. Way too much. One night I really overdid it with fajitas and boy did I pay the price later. I was doing Lamaze to get that cheese dip out. Hey check out my cat
Ate lunch here today and as I was checking out, pulled out my credit card and cashier states that their card machine is broken. We’d already eaten all of the food and I had no other form of payment. The cashier looks at me and says “well I don’t know what you’re going to do”. Put a sign on the door so someone knows and can go elsewhere!! This was a horrible experience and I’ll never be back after being treated this way. I literally had to find change in car and call someone to bring me some money to pay and was late getting back to work due to this incident.
El Canaveral is always a great place to eat. Friendly staff, good food, wonderful atmosphere. They know us by name and sometimes know our exact order before we do!
I ordered 5 meals online, 4 flautas 1 chicken nacho and 2 extra enchiladas. I got a call a few minutes later and was told that they couldnt do the enchiladas, so I asked them to just take off the enchiladas. My husband picked it up and they had only made 1 chicken nacho and 1 flauta plate. I called and let them know that they made a mistake on my order and the lady was very rude. She said that was what I ordered and that was all my husband paid for. I told her that my order showed I ordered more and I didnt mind paying for what I ordered. She got snarky with me and I told her that I just wanted to return it all and get my money back. I ended up ordering from another place with much better customer service!
Fast and very nice. The prices are excellent because the portions are so big. I had enough chicken and steak fajitas left over for dinner too! Totally recommend this stylist relaxing restaurant 😍😍👍
I came to visit Cabot and stopped at this restaurant. I ordered these tacos and they were amazing! So authentic and great taste! Also I was amazed by all the decoration of the restaurant, so unique and original. Great customer service as well. I hope to be back soon! Highly recommended!
Rushed Service and cuts you off while you are trying to order -does not bring what is ordered!Refills were in same cup , some with straws still in the cup( I wonder how many times those straws touch a nozzle),which at other restaurants they bring a fresh cup- nasty! Have different Servers refilling drinks ,grabbing one tables cups and than another ,really concerning.Menu’s weren’t even sanitized-Removed TO GO items off table we dined at-so Comparing Guidelines being followed at other restaurants-this one is not sanitizing very well -I would recommend Chuy’s instead.
I called in two large chips & salsas and they were ready in 10 minutes. I showed up and my order was on the counter. I asked the cashier if I could add a large cheese dip and she said yes. She walked to the kitchen and brought out a 20 ounce styrofoam cup of cheese dip and said if I wanted chips it would be extra. I was confused because normally you would automatically get chips with your cheese dip. She punched buttons on the register and it was $23.40 without getting chips with my cheese dip. If I wanted chips it was going to be $29.??. I asked how much the two large salsas were and she said 6.99 each. The cup of cheese dip was $13.00 and didnt come with chips. I told her I didnt even want the $6.00 chips with my $13.00 cheese dip and ended up paying $23.40 for two large chips and salsas and one large cup of cheese dip. I wont be going back. I only bought the food because my daughter really wanted salsa and cheese dip. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS BUSINESS.
I got a to-go cheese dip and salsa. It was close to $18 with a drink....and my cheese was cold and watery,My chips were stale and cold....after going home to microwave them, I was able to eat it.. but definitely won’t order again... not worth the price.
Giant chicken chimichanga. The chicken was so good. Not bland & not overly spicy. Very good service & quick.
The food and service is excellent. The servers are always prompt and very friendly. I had the shrimp chimichanga which was very good. My wife had steak. She said it had a little bit of gristle. We both still think El Canaveral has the best Mexican food in the area.
It depends on what time of day you go for the taco meat to be seasoned correctly. Dinner time seems to be much better than lunch. Most dishes are tastey such as the enchiladas and fajitas, but I personally am not a fan of the quesadillas here. Very greasy and watery with very sad and mushy shredded chicken. Overall the food is above average, but the service leaves something to be desired. Most times Ive gone our server seems to hate thier life and you can see the irritation on thier face any time you ask for anything. I dont want to feel resented for asking for a refill or more chips, something I shouldnt have to ask for anyways. Aside from that this place is slightly above average.
Ate here once. Food was unimpressive. Normally dont post bad reviews because I like to give the benefit of the doubt, but I came to the little group of buildings this restaurant shares a parking lot with this past weekend. I had a Togo order at the restaurant next door. There was absolutely no parking anywhere else, so I parked in one of "their spots" to run in and grab my Togo order. Literally 2 minutes. They had three other spots open, but threatened to have me towed if I didnt move my car. They went straight to threatening to tow if I didnt move. Where? There was literally no where else unless I wanted to park across the street (in yet another business parking lotand try to dodge Friday night traffic to run across. They dont care about people. No wonder their part of the parking lot still had open spots when every other business they shared the lot with was full.
The food here was really really good! The service was quick and attentive. I ordered the Canaveral Fajita and loved every single bite. I will most definitely be back!
Friendly staff and the food is good. They have a buffet mon-fri until 3 pm.Enchiladas del mar, tacos cantina and the saldas are amazing. They dont have alcoholic drinks.Sundays or thursdays are busy days
Food was cold when I got home, and I literally live behind them. I called to complain and the owner said a homeless person would appreciate what I had. Oh and said they also would not have a problem with heating up their dinner in a microwave. $30 plus spent on 2 dinners and I have to microwave to heat up my dinner.
Ate there last night for only the second time since moving to Cabot close to 3 years ago. I found two hairs in my food. I stopped eating once I noticed. We asked if we could get the meal for free. All they did was take the enchilada off the price, still making us pay for the rest of the meal. Plus they dont even accept Discover cards. My wifes food was devoid of hair, but was still bland compared to the highly superior Mi Ranchito. Dont waste your time here. We were the only couple there at 6 PM. That should tell you everything you need to know in the first place.
Lunch buffet is awesomePrices for normal meals are greatService was perfectLove the decor insideCant wait to go back
1st time here! Im very impressed! Cant wait to come back! We decided to enjoy the lunch buffet. They have great food and this place offers a buffet never have I seen that. The service is great the food is amazing.
Been to this location several times and each time the food was excellent. The chips are always hot and the salsa is good, a little bland but it is still good. The food as always served hot and large portions. Staff is great, come to check on you often and always there to refill drinks.
