El Barón in Cartagena

Had shrimp coctail, tasted like brown sugar, i did not order a meal after that, date ordered a seafood rice Dish, seafood was rubbery... Do not recommend going heré for food.

We just tried desserts and they were below average. Its expensive. Nice patio outside though.

Came here twice while in Cartagena, we sat outside and had the same server (wish I caught her name, she was lovely), but I loved it here! The cocktails were delicious and the second time we got a charcuterie plate that was so good. Great people watching spot if you’re outside too.

Best drinks without a doubt, u could tell right away about the bottles in their bar. They also have the knowledge and skills to back it up

Awesome atmosphere, good quality drinks and great service! Nice relaxed music not too loud. I had the gin basil smash it was very refreshing just like how the menu said! This is a hipster place.

Amazing service & great cocktails + beautiful ambiance

Not super memorable. But the fact that it seems like all restaurants and bars in the old city center are a lot better than anything else outside of the wall. So even though its average for the old city its still a lot better than anywhere else Ive seen in Cartagena.

Superb tapas, wonderful setting, great cocktails. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.The Tapas was outstanding we had to order more because it was that good. The staff were excellent they were bilingual so were able to communicate in both Spanish and English.Seating inside and outside, the outside seating faced onto the square in front of the church. Be aware that people will try to sell you things.Cocktails are wonderful very flavoursome some of the best we’ve had.

One of my favorite places in all of Cartagena to get a drink. Or two. There are several mainstays on their menu that you must try, and feel free to ask their bartender for some recommendations. El Baron is one of the premier cocktail destinations in this city, and you should carve out time in your evening to experience them.The service is phenomenal. We felt taken care of even though a large party from a wedding came in shortly after we did. The space isn’t huge but can accommodate a crowd. We felt like it was a very intimate and inviting spot. I would highly recommend if craft cocktails and stellar hospitality is your thing!

We went for dinner around 7. Pretty small inside, reservations are recommended, but there are tables on the plaza. Cocktails were amazing and tapas was pretty good too. We had trouble making a reservation and they were very accommodating on WhatsApp.

Excellent! Food was great, crusty salmon salad was fab, Mojito de la casa was really good, we loved sitting outdoors by the active plaza, fantastic and attentive service, everyone was beyond nice, come here, highly recommended, the San Pedro historical church as a backdrop is simply beautiful, you wont be disappointed, although the biggest annoyances are the constant vendors and beggars approaching which really is the most unappealing side of staying here

El Barón is the best cocktail bar in Cartagena hands down. Incredible food (the dessert is next level!), cocktails, and a gorgeous setting with stunning decor on the interior. And the exterior seating is in a picture perfect historic Cartagena plaza complete with a 16th century church.But, the best part of a visit to El Barón is their people! Everyone who works there is unbelievably friendly, helpful, and hardworking.Angie, Manuel, Shirley, Jorge, Luis (and all the bartenders, servers, and other team members we interacted withare fantastic! They provided amazing recommendations on drinks and food, they were happy to provide local tips about Cartagena, and really made our time at El Baron (and Cartagena!super enjoyable and memorable!Highly recommend a visit (or twoto El Baron! You wont be disappointed.

I had this place saved and stopped during the day to escape the heat! Very friendly staff making some tasty cocktails. They explained their menu and helped with our decisions. Only stopped for drinks, but the food menu also looked really good.

Nice little restaurant. Good food and good service at a good price.You can have a table outside, next to the San Pedro Claver church, which is a great experience at night.

Amazing craft cocktails in this cute hipster bar in the plaza. Love the Venice spritz and a blueberry cocktail called the veritas (truthserum. Alejandro does a great job at managing the bar. Their tapas are also great! Loved the Spanish tortilla. It’s super tasty and served with a garlic aioli. Come for aperitivo (happy hourdeals. On the weekends they open the upstairs part of their restaurant.

Great spot for cocktails! Loved the ambiance and the DJ last night! Seriously though… amazing Mai Tai!Jorge took very good care of us, he was super helpful and very sweet. We saw him running around and he was so professional and hard working. He really made our experience here at El Baron wonderful!Thanks so much for a fun night!

There is plenty of outdoor seating here, but the decor of the restaurant is too nice to want to sit outdoors. This craft cocktail bar has many options, try the mezcal-based cocktail.

Location is great but food and drinks are overpriced, we had 5 cocktails and 4 of them were underwhelming, tasteless or unaccomplished. The service was excellent and willing to improve the offerings. I recommend going for the classic cocktails.

Very good craft cocktails! Nice air conditioned indoor seating. I had the Puro, rum cocktail with caramelized onion & tobacco leaf. The gin basil smash was delicious as well. Can’t go wrong with their drinks.

Daré and Manuel are amazing servers. They have a fabulous first impression of El Baron. The limonada de coco was so delicious I had three of them. Im addicted to this place now, its truly fabulous and of quality!

It is rare for a bar to have amazing cocktails and excellent food at the same time, but El Baron is an exception! Best drinks in town and their food is also delicious, despite their rather limited menu. We keep going back there pretty much every night now! Amazing service and great laid-back outdoor setting :)

Incredible experience with a great view of the cathedral at dusk. Street music with incredible food AND great unique cocktails. Will be going back multiple times while in Cartagena. Amanda was a fantastic server!

Went here for a Colombian rum and Cigar tasting. The sommelier was very knowledgeable about both. The bar and food are delicious also.

I believe it’s the best bar in the town. The drinks are the best at el baron, specifically if you ask the bar man for something of your taste, they will male sure you are amazed. While its small, the locations its incredible, just in front of San Pedro Church that brings an amazing setting for the bar. Food its also very nice. Outstanding place!!

Well executed drinks, pleasant sitting out on the plaza, and good food as well.Although we didnt try the whole menu we had an assortment of apps and all were good. Its definitely expensive, but par for the neighborhood.

Small bar with tables on the street. Together with Baruco are the only options that are open late for some food. Be sure to taste Peruvian Pisco.

Living in NYC, the land of cocktails, my friends and I know a good bar when we see taste it and this is an excellent one. I was in Cartagena for a wedding, of course I was, and I took 3 different group here and each time people were blown away but how fun, cute and unique the drinks were. Go here!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. And definitely the best ceviche I’ve ever had. They are great at pairing your likes with drinks you’ll just love. Currently they have successful recommended 4 drinks to me that I love. Can’t beat that level of service. If you’re in Cartagena you should be sure to stop by. Be sure to ask for Daniel to be your server he’s fantastic.

Really nice cocktails. This is a great place to start your night of revelry in Cartagena! The place is really small inside, expect a little wait for seating. We had the mojitos which were made with a lot care!

Real mixologists behind the bar making original and refreshing cocktails. Service is friendly. The place is small but they have a terrace on a pleasant plaza. We also tried their non alcoholic creations and they were delicious. Great option when you want to go easy on a hot afternoon.

Best cocktails in old town Cartagena, a much better lineup compared to the local favorite Alquimico. The appertivos and cocteles were superior to everything else we found in town, super friendly bartenders as well.

Lovely little bar, we sat inside and was nice to have some cool air! Very well thought out menu and drinks were lovely, kick of alcohol but very drinkable. Had some tapas - burrata, lamb sliders and cold cuts which was enough as we weren’t hungry. Staff very helpful and friendly

Come here around dinner time; get 4 tapas between 2 people. You’ll have a fantastic dinner that is tasty, in a setting that’s marvelous. Outdoor seating in the square is beautiful at night time

This is the perfect place to spend a nice evening.The cocktails are amazing, the food is delicious and the location is romantic.You can enjoy high quality products here for a reasonable price and we would highly recommend visiting El Baron for at least one drink when you pass by ;)Tip: We had the best Pulpo ever here and the cocktails offer inspirations from all over the world

My favourite place to sit and take in the day and people watch. Great drinks, I loved the charcuterie plate. Cigar friendly, and great view of the cathedral. Many tours selling hats and jewelry, but if you are polite they will leave you be if you say no thanks. They let you sit and relax and don’t pressure you to buy more drinks.

We randomly walked into this bar and it was charming with its interior design. The drinks werent bad either. I would recommend stopping by for a drink or two if you have the time.

Really great drinks. Small inside but they have outdoor seating. Reservations prob recommended on weekends. It is pricy especially for Colombia. No happy hour either.
