Eish + Malh - Italian restaurant in Cairo, Egypt
I went there once. The food was okay. Maybe because I only tried pizzas and tiramisu there. Its a little bit dim because I sat at the corner (the opposite side of the open window). And they didnt turn on the light at that time. The music and athmosphere were nice. They have many tables there. Also the toilet is clean.
We went at around 2pm so at lunchtime. The staff was nice and respectful but we weren’t impressed with the food. The veggie calzone dough was, as you can see, undercooked. It was stuffed with zucchini, way too little mushroom and way too much bell pepper. It lacked any sort of sauce to blend the flavors together. As for the bruschettas (tomato/pesto and cheese), two of them had only tomatoes (lacked any additional flavorand the other two had cheese but very little pesto sauce that we didn’t even get a hint of its taste. The juices were normal. The overall ambiance was nice.
Overall good! The coffee was not as I expected it but the food was good. When I asked for Pizza they said there’s a problem with the oven. Later on the next table ordered pizza and they got it!I was surprised and annoyed.
Late and coffee were perfect but food is over priced. We ordered pizza , shakshouka, eggs & fetter and all of them were below average.
We went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The order came wrong twice. The food was really bad after waiting for an hour we had to eat the wrong food because we were very hungry. The service was very slow. The coffee was horrible. Very bad experience. We will never go there again.
Very good time at this restaurant we head food and iced coffee grilled chicken was very good and nice andAs well goat saladHighly love this placee
I dont like the environment, the food is not good and the sweets.. pancakes are famous in this place but really I am making them better. They put fake chocolate (chocolate syrupon the top which is very sweet and awful. I really wonder why they cant put small quantity of Nutella. Their dishes are also not so nice ( they are bringing you the plate totally hot coming directly from the microwave and you cant touch it). The only good about this place is that it is in very central place but there are so much better places to eat in the center than this. Its supposed to be italian but I didnt see anything Italian there. Also the toilet is very old and kind of mess. Really I dont suggest this place at all. The only positive except of the central place that some nights it has some kind of live music with two music players that they are also singing.
Focaccia has nothing to do with the focaccia that I know, flies were all over the place, overpriced. Disappointed
Stayed in the cafe for a few hours getting some work done and while waiting for my bus. The cafe has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and speak English. The WiFi is, as with most places in Cairo a bit hit and miss. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. The food is very good. I had the vegan Calzone, and a vegan meatball pasta. Both were very good. Definitely recommend for a quick coffee or a bite to eat
The place is really nice and cozy.Staff are friendly.Best lasagne I had in a very long while.
One of my favorites spots around the world. Reminiscent of the 19th century french Cairo. Great food, great live music and great vibes.
Wow restaurant with very good lunch we head pizza and risotto its really good very friendly staff and professional for sure will be back again,
Nice experience, friendly staff, reasonable food quality. It is a little pricey.
One of the beautiful places in downtown Cairo. I prefer going in the morning when the streets are quieter. What I luv about this restaurant is the v cosmopolitan feeling. The customers are from diverse cultures but they coexist peacefully, this isn’t v usual in Cairo! The breakfast options are yummy and the coffee is v satisfactory. Today, I ordered the pancake with cream, cinnamon and fruits
An enjoyable Italian restaurant, the best revioli pasta i have ever eaten, and the brownie is mouth watering and delicious. I loved the mood and the prices are fair somehow. I didnt like the music, as the volume was high. I totally loved the restaurant. ❤️❤️❤️
It’s a good place to meet with your friends but not the best, I ‘d like to wonder at downtown streets more than sitting there tbh.Though, I think I might go there again.
I loved it here. The best Coffee i drank in Cairo. Food Was very delicious.
Nice decor and professional waiters, however high price compared to the food quality they offer. We enjoyed our time with friends but we didnt enjoy the food. I will go again but for a drink or a coffee not for food.
This place is under new management and it shows. Excellent food, service and ambiance! A gem in the heart of Cairos Downtown.
Very nice restaurant, the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, the place is clean. The service is little bit slow. But in general i like it
Good place with good vibes. We went for lunch, the pizza they have is great and I like it very much. But we waited a bit for the food. The workers were kind and friendly. The bathroom was very clean. It was a very good experience
I went afternoon. I had a sea food pizza and hazelnut coffee. The pizza was really tasty and enjoyed it, the coffee was not that good. The place is cozy and peaceful and the staff were friendly. I like the fresh sunflower on the table🌻
Quiet restaurant with some great rock music. We ordered the breakfast pancakes and sandwiches (both vegan), the cappuccino was pleasant too.I’d recommend this breakfast place to anyone living around downtown cairo!Service was quick, and the staff understood English which was a plus & Free Wifi!
Great little gem in downtown Cairo. I love their coffee and the freshly baked bread. Their egg dishes are very tasty. My favourite is the pastrami calzone.I went twice, the second time was busy and service was slow. This is not cheap by any means you easily end up paying 250 egp pp for breakfast coffee and a small dessert
A place that have good food good staff and good mood, the service was bit late but the food was actually so delicious and fresh
What a great experience! The breakfast I had was very delicious. The staff were super friendly as well. The restaurant itself presents a flavor of contrast in its decor and menu.
Nice decor, ambience and tiramisu. Bad and slow service. Mediocre food, the spaghetti wasnt cooked well, the risotto lacked a proper amount of cheese, and the ravioli lacked spices. I asked for a change of table when they had 4 empty ones, yet the manager decided its more about the candlelit dinner, which lasted 5 minutes. I ended up half-watching the "live performance", which had more technical difficulties than actual performing. I probably shouldve went to McDonalds and people-watched instead.
I dont understand the hype. The eggs were overcooked-- the egg white were so overdone they looked and tasted like plastic. The charges were ridiculous. We ordered a caramel macchiato which was listed for a certain price on their menu but they slapped an additional 8 pounds for the caramel. We ordered a cheese pizza and they just forgot about it too... which is probably for the best since we were unable to finish our food. The service at 9 am was terrible and slow. I will not be returning.
Disappointing food but nice ambiance and good service. The Ceasar salad with anchovies had soggy breadcrumbs and the sauce was a bit off. Lasagna bolognese was a cheesy mess with hardly any sauce. Denise fish special was also disappointing - bland taste and didn’t taste very fresh. .
Salad was good taste and good size, a bit of Greek dressing I missed. No vinegar or oil on the table.Pizza ( I choosed the "Eish Malh was still to "white" and by far to small for me ( I, and for sure other also, could easily eat two of them ).Everything was very clean and the waiter very fast, always looking if something is missing.👍Unfortunately at the end on the bill they add Service Charge AND tax !It should be included in the prices on the menu like on 99,999 percent of the other restaurants in Egypt. The customer shouldn,t need to calculate when he want,s to go for dinner or lunch....
Very nice place for breakfast 👍 loved it. They have some cool fresh juice options, golden milk, all kind of eggs combined with other ingredients. The staff is very friendly, clean toilets. Would totally recommend it
Nice vibe with decent food. Prices are reasonable for the not small but not large portions. Gets a bit hot in the evening.Pizza tasted good.Polo a lemon wasn’t great. Chicken was dry. Sautéed vegetables weren’t sautéed. Very small portions
My first time here. Tried their Shakshuka. Essentially cooked tomatoes, 3 eggs sunny side up with spices and red onions, comes with 2 slices of toasts. Mind you this might be a little hot for some.
Comfortable cafe not too far from the Khan el-Khalili Market. Decent food but not really Italian (they use local cheese not Italian cheese). Food was priced well but not top quality. Service was good but food was slow. Note that there is no outdoor seating and they allow smoking indoors.
It is really good.. amazing unique atmosphere.. we tried breakfast menu and it was really good and rest of food looks really delicious.. prices are very reasonable.. they play Jazz on Saturdays from 1 to 3 its really beautiful
I liked the atmosphere but the food and service were so bad! There was jazz from 1-3 pm which I really liked it.The place decore and atmosphere were so good as well. However, the food quality and quantity was bad. The chicken taste was not good and the escalope was so hard to cut. The risotto was tasteless. We ordered 3 main dishes and they served each dish separately and there was a gap of like 15 minutes between each dish!
the place is light and the vibes are instantly good, the waiters are friendly & the breakfast dishes are different which i appreciated because honestly everywhere in egypt makes the same breakfast now.i recommend the smoked baked egg because it has sausage & lots of cheese in it 🍳the iced tea is good as well
Nice place...overlooks a really nice street with significant architecture...nice natural lightning...liked the sunflower alot...had small problem tho.. flies are everywhere :( Portions was a little smaller than expected but considerable with the prices.
Eish + Malh has a rustic feel while dinning with a touch of modern. The wallpaper is very expressive and the red brights the place up.Beverage: Double espresso latte — is a solid choice. I also tired the coconut milk, which is brewed in house. It gave the latte a rich feel to it.Round 1: Food: Lemon Pancakes: super fluffy pancakes and the lemon reduction was out of this world. I was full after one serving.I order the chicken mozzarella + roasted potatoes to go. It was good.Round 2: Breakfast Pizza: Basterma: dough was light with an egg in the center, along with pastrami and arugula. good for hangovers.Fairly priced and friendly staff.
5 stars for the amazing and delicious food. The customer service was very good little hiccups but was solved professionally by the manager.Theyre still in the soft opening process you can still smell the fresh paint.
Generally a very nice place. It’s very spacious and comfortable. The staff is cheerfully friendly. The bathrooms are clean.I like their menu, the melanzane was so good. Pastas were tasty but the gnocchi was a little underwhelming. I’d definitely come here again.
Modern cafe. Fast service. Kinda all over the place music. I really enjoyed my time there. The disinfectant smelled a little weird but its not a complaint. Just bring your own disinfectant and youll be fine. The minty lemonade is really good and refreshing. My all time favorite hideaway 💜💚💗
Socially distant seating, good service, busy environment, with live music entertainment on special occasions and weekends.Visited on Christmas eve. My meal was perfect but I didnt choose the Christmas dinner set menu, instead opted for items off the 4 course fixed price menu. The reason I dont score it 5* at this time is because the Christmas dinner plate was somewhat unsatisfying. The turkey was dry and the cranberry sauce was replaced with strawberry jam.We will be back and try other menu choices, and then will update my review.
Great breakfast spot for a casual sit down meal. Good for solo or group, staff was nice and quick (granted there were only two other patrons). Internet was good with speeds ranging from 6-11 mbps.
Very cool place in one of the busiest neighborhoods in Cairo. I dont know why its considered as Italian restaurant when it doesnt have any Italian vibe. It has this rustic style yes, but thats authentic for the European cities like Prague, Budapest, etc. Having only Italian food doesnt make you Italian restaurant. Anyway, the food is tasty and the prices are decent, but the portions are not that big especially the salads. Definitely its cute and different spot in Cairo and its worth visiting especially while strolling in Downtown.
Very nice space with very ambitious menu, friendly service but like everything else in this place they promise more than what they can and will do, I tried the tomato soup and Greek salad, the soup taste more like koshary souse than any tomato soup I have ever tried, the salad fresh with good quality of white local cheese but not a fine feta cheese, good but not great, not even very good, some of the items on the menu was not actually available, but the space is good and quite, I couldn’t tell what part is for smokers and what part for nine smokers, but this is very common in Cairo where everybody smoke everywhere, in total it’s a good place with very clean restrooms on the second floor.
So this review is based on the dine in experience.I ordered the penni fungi (basically a white sauce pasta with mushroom and parmesan). I didnt really enjoy it as much as I expected. For the price, you should expect something a tad bit better. What I also didnt like is how slow the service is, I was in a hurry and had to wait a while before getting and paying for the receipt. I think this place is more popular for coffee lovers.Price:100 EGP incl taxes for this plate .
Cosy everyday type of place. Ingredients are fresh. Small portions but over all value for money... Good initiatives like the slow down market with a creative menu that goes with it .. Would go again for sure.
Really nice place great food, they serve eggs with creative ways like a small Pizza topped with an egg, or multiple oven dishes like shakshouka. Also they serve Pan Cakes, coffee, and fresh juice. They don’t serve beans (Foulthat the name may let you think it is. The place is very simple and easy to find in Downtown Main Street you will be able notice its Red Door. From inside it is well natural lighted through out many huge windows overlooking Tha Main Street. Highly recommend for a great experience and it is not expensive at all. Try it...
Nice and cozy for gathering or even date. For big group i advise you to make a reservation before visiting them. the waiter is not that nice and place of non smokers is very small and there is no separator or even the air suction doesn’t work. You are paying in cash only.Prices is nice, but the portion of the food is not good.
