Counter-service chain offering egg sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods & a variety of bagels.
They make it drive through only and dont answer the intercom just so they can hide from customers and goof off or whatever they are doing, you can see them from the windows.
Alfonso at this Einstein Bros. location is an excellent window/counter person. He was handling all window and counter orders by himself on Thursday 9-8-22. This gentleman is ready for management!
The employees are lazy with bad attitudes ! Also never have nothing either. Last time I’m going to this location. Went Saturday and had no tomatoes to complete the order. Went today and had no salmon to complete the order.
This was not the first, but the last of very poor experiences at this location for me. I dont know what is going wrong here, but there are significant delays and issues with equipment not working. Today, I had to get out of my vehicle to ask the drive through line to move in order let me out to get to work. Each of the times there were issues, the workers were frustrated, and let that show in how they spoke to the customers.
How are you gonna call it avocado toast and then not toast it 🙄
For some reason they lock their inside doors (not even close to closing timeso you are forced to go through the drive through. everyone is so lost here it’s honestly embarrassing. i called before one time and asked for a bagel sandwich on what bagel, the lady thought i had order 3 bagel sandwiches with a random extra bagel. another time before my friends bagel had a mustard packet in it. they messed up my order multiple times. i had ask for the avocado veg out bagel sandwich and the straight up just gave me avocado toast. common sense is most what this restaurant lacks and when they make a mistake they act that you are in the wrong and don’t know how to go about it.
We walked around the building trying to open doors only to realize that it was drive through only. How hard is it to post a sign? Only three cars in line, but it still took 40 minutes to get our order. They were out of coffee and the sandwich I wanted. When I got home everything was cold and I toasted. Terrible!
The dining room was closed. It took 45 mins to go through a line of four cars. When we ordered we found out that they could not serve any coffee drinks of any kind. When we got to the window, we had to change our order because they were out of several items (but somehow didnt knkw that when we placed out order). We finally got our food and the service was not polite or caring. I wont be back again and I suggest others find another place to eat. Save yourself an hour of dissapointments!
I’m never going back to this location. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS! If I could give 0 stars I would. I asked for a toasted bagel and got a RUBBERY BAGEL! I also had HAIR IN MY BAGEL! Save your time and go somewhere else.
I usually love Einstein, but this was disappointing. There’s a sign on a single side of the building that said drive-thru/to-go only, but nothing on the doors. If you didn’t happen to notice the sign (which isn’t very noticeable, we only saw it as we drove offthen you pull on the doors because there’s no sign stating it. The hours on the doors are also incorrect; the drive-thru window has the only correct sign for hours. My food was not good. My bagels were cold and rubbery, and it was dripping in cold butter. I asked for it toasted but this was barely even room temperature, borderline refrigerated.Hoping for better next time.
Doors are locked during business hours, no sign on door. Why is this drive through only? Thats fine then we get to the drive thru line and find out most things on the menu are unavailable. This is a failing location
Idk who’s in charge of this location but if you’re reading this, your place sucks. Rude staff and your food comes out cold, COLD. I’ve never been disappointed in Einstein Bros until now. Either shut this place down or get new management.
So so sooooo bad! Cold pre made breakfast sandwiches. Inedible waste of money. So sad, they used to be one of my faves.
My husband and I stopped by this morning but the doors were locked, as we were walking back to the car, another car pulled up to us from the drive thru and the lady driving it told us that she had also tried going inside but the doors were locked, so she had then tried the drive thru and no one was answering.I decided to call the restaurant and a employee answered. She confirmed they were open, but just the drive thru. So we joined a few other cars who were in the drive thru, but it also was unattended. We tried to talk to the speaker, no answer. We pulled up to the window, but no one was there. We watched a few other cars do the same thing we did just to make sure it wasnt a mistake. It was completely unprofessional, we were so surprised that they answered our call but then wouldnt come to the drive thru. Might as well close the place down if no one wants to work. There are others in Lubbock, dont use this one.
This location is closest to my place of work.I stopped in this morning, waited in the drive thru line for 7 mins with no one answering....Drove around and had to play musical doors, (there is three and had to pull them all to find an unlockedthe lobby has 0 lights on, walked up to the front counter and a girl was setting there on her phone. I stood there about a minute with out her ever batting an eye, then said "hi", she did not even bother to set the phone down, as I asked if the drive thru was open.... She stated "yes" and I stated that I had set out there as well as several cars behind me for around 7 minutes. She yelled for a girl in the back named Amanda, now Amanda was the sweetest and apologized, she did give me a coffee for the wait, I ordered the "all American", Amanda asked her to make the sandwich, as sge made my coffee.... I know I should have checked but since all the up and down I had to rush, went to eat it and let me tell yall it was COLD, and you can tell just slipped together... There was one piece of bacon and the bagel was so hard I couldnt eat it. Such a waste of 8 ish dollars!!!
This is not something I normally do but this location is only drive thru so when I got home and went through my order it was totally wrong and when I tried to call and explain to them the problem no one picked up the phone. I called twice and it just rang until the phone hung up on me. So here I am on the internet.Honestly they are probably busy right now I think church is letting out but it’s still aggravating especially when I spent over 30.00 and did not get what I ordered period. So I ordered 2 toasted blueberry breakfast sandwiches with butter instead of smear, 4 plain bagels double toasted with extra plain schmear, 1 six cheese bagel toasted with onion and chive schmear, and an order of avocado toast. So I get home and find that instead of blueberry breakfast sandwiches I only get buttered blue berry bagels and I was shorted 1 plain bagel, also not any of the bagels were toasted at all. Not even the avocado toast which on their menu states that it comes toasted. Also if you order extra schmear and then smash the bagel halves together and get the cream cheese all over the packaging is pointless. I am very upset that I spent money on this. Honestly this isn’t the first time I have had problem orders but they were small inconsistencies. This makes it to where I don’t want to ever go back though like honestly I know most places are short on workers thanks to Covid but this lack of care for your customers from the employees has lost you a consistent patron.
Majorly disappointed. They do not stay open until their posted hours. Could see employee inside asleep on the counter.
Out of almost everything we tried to order, they dont serve hash browns at this location even though its on the menu, menu sign is falling apart, speaker clarity is terrible. Go to another location
A lot of things on the menu arent available, and pretty much everything thats "trending new", no online ordering, and random only order through drive thru
Says theyre open for takeout, but theyre not. Drive thru speaker is incomprehensible. The menu in the drive thru is falling apart. They dont have anything, so dont even try to order anything besides a drink.
Listed as dine in available, but entrance door was locked. Its stupid to wait in line simply to be told they dont have the bagels you want.
The management of this location needs to seriously take a look at their business. Why is this location locked to the public and drive-thru only, in Lubbock Texas in the year 2022?? Is COVID still the excuse? Schools are open, movie theaters are open, sporting events are happening mask-free now! Heck, even McDonalds let’s you come inside again. Instead, you get to sit in the drive-thru trying to absorb all the selections on the menu while the impatient customers behind you rev their motors at you. Then they can’t make the meals because the store has no hash browns. Seriously, management, the world is moving on after COVID now. It’s time for you to do the same.
This is a bagel store. Something you would think is simple. These guys can screw up it up. Texas tech finest working here.
Why have items on your menu that your location doesn’t make. Wanted the bagelrito but was informed that they don’t make it if you don’t make it take it off your menu broad.
This location is the worst. The staff is rude, someone needs to teach these kids proper customer service. The sandwichs we ordered looked like they were tossed around, zero care or Fs were given when packing the order. The only reason for the 2 stars is because despite it looking like a toddler made our meal they didnt taste bad.
Shorted us a bagel. We had appointment so couldnt return and us thats always awkward having to claim youre not just hiding one or something. Carmel maxhiato was not so carmely and oh so coffeeey. Bagel was alright. Not brilliant. But taste was satisfying and belly still happy even though i only ate one instead of two.
Location is drive thru only. Would be nice if that was posted on their door or on the google listing. To avoid being that person walking up, and pulling on a locked door like a dope. Food, coffee, and service was fine.
3 times I have tried to come to this Einstein and they refuse to answer the phone or the drive thru. Workers are just sitting inside getting paid to not work. Horrible service. Lazy staff. Close it down or get new management
Good food for breakfast. Nice staff! Jalapeño and cheddar bagel is the best!
This was my family’s first time to try Einstein Bagels. I have always heard good things and was excited to try it. I was very disappointed with the customer service and how we seemed to inconvenience the employee taking orders. Not a very pleasant experience for the first time. I highly doubt that we will be returning.
Waited in line at the drive-thru for over 30 minutes and asked for items from the online menu and told “we don’t have blueberry muffins”. Drive-thru person was very rude when placing the order and even worse at the window. And for a “drive-thru only” restaurant it would help if the speaker actually worked, we had to yell into it.
Ordered two bagels. Had to repeat myself multiple times, even at the window. You would think this would make sure my order was correct? Nope! Ordered a bagel double toasted, and another toasted. When I got home both were completely raw and cold. Food prices are too high to get worse service than McDonald’s..
The lights were off?, The drain by the soda machine had something growing in it, the staff was pretty busy talking to each other but they did get my order correct. Bagel was okay a little chewier than other Einstein locations. The signage was falling off behind the counters and they were out of Carmel syrup for coffees.
If there was a 0 star option, I would’ve clicked that one. Not only are the employees incredibly rude and lazy, but the quality of anything you order is always horrible. My bagel that was supposed to be toasted was cold when there was nobody in line AND the HOT coffee I paid for was cold and stale. And on top of that they were out of most bagels at 10 am. You’re called Einstein’s BAGELS… this location is an absolute joke & I don’t understand how it’s even in business
Let me start by saying that I’ve been in the food service industry for over 6 years working in restaurants and now as a barista, and something’s just not right at this location. I tried ordering at the drive thru today and sat there for a good 5 minutes with no response, so I just left. The speaker has always had issues. It used to not be all taped up, then we had a winter storm around 2 years ago that knocked it down. I guess something else happened again because there’s now ribbon holding it up. Sure it still kind of works, but it’s difficult to hear the employees, and for them to hear us. When something that barely works anymore that’s important for customers and employees to communicate to get orders right, it needs to be fixed. Something else I’ve noticed is that they’ll only accept gift cards if they feel like it. My mom lives in Austin and likes to send me these, so they’re electronic. My guess is that their scanner doesn’t work for the QR code, but I know it’s doable by hand. I’ve seen them do it for me, and I do it for customers at my work when their gift cards won’t scan. It’s an extra step that customers appreciate, but for some employees here, they treat like a huge hassle. I’ve seen some other reviews talking about the drive thru taking a long time, and I have to agree with them. I completely understand being backed up, but it’s ridiculous when I only order 1 thing and it takes 20 minutes with only 1 other person in front of me. Yes people get baker’s dozens for work, but I’ve seen other stores getting those ready within 5 minutes. Typically the food comes out ok, but I’ve had a few instances where the bagels are burnt, over or under-proofed, missing something, etc. I keep trying to give them a chance to see if they’ve improved, but that’s usually not the case. Either the employees need refreshed training, or the store needs new management, or both. It’s unprofessional and disappointing, but with some fixing this place has the potential to be really great.
Drive through only. 2.5 months AFTER Texas has been fully opened. Very close to the highway. The "intercom" box on the drive through pedestal was broken and looked to be kinda zip tied to a conduit. The audio level and quality was such that I asked if I could just drive to the window. The staff was courteous. I asked what type of sweetener was available for coffee as I like stevia or splenda not sugar or syrup. The young lady told me there was not sweetener. I could chose a flavored syrup. I qualified my request asking " yall dont have splenda or anything?" The young lady looked at me and replied that they do have splenda.. OK OK she did not know what sweetener is???? God help us
Dining room is frequently closed with no notice online. Thus I foolishly TRIED to call them to see if their dining room is open before going to the store. However, they DID NOT answer phone calls after multiple attempts. Really? Apparently they can’t be bothered to put correct information online about their dining room being closed AND they refuse to answer their phone. I guess they don’t deserve/need my business. Bye-bye to Einstein’s!
The absolute worst experience I have had at this location. Called in an order at 9:18am and didnt receive it until 10:14 am. Not only that but they forgot part of my order! Will not be coming back to this location.
I have gone to this location for the last few years, and they regularly are out of bagels or their machines are broken. Today I went there and they were out of all but 4 DIFFERENT KINDS OF BAGELS. Then when I tried to order a mocha coffee, they said their machine for that was broken. This machine has been broken for years, because everytime I have tried to get one in the past, their excuse has always been "our machine is broken". This is a joke. Not to mention the workers are rude. How can you run a food business when over half of the menu is not available? I see bad reviews where the business wants to make it right, but these problems have been there for years. The entire location needs an overhaul. Horrible.
Terrible service! I waited in the drive through for over 15 minutes just to order and there was no one else in line. The employee was super rude. They couldn’t make hash browns at 10am?? Finally got my order and scanned my rewards to pay. The employee asked which reward I wanted to use and still charged me for the whole thing! When I asked if my rewards went through they ignored me and closed the window. And on top of everything my order wasn’t even right!
this place NEVER toasts my bagels. when i go through this drive through I make it a point have my bagel toasted and they can’t seem to figure it out!!! I wish this location was as good as the one on campus because until that one reopens i’ll make my bagels at home
If I could have given a lower mark I would have. This was my first time to ever visit and I ordered a basic cinnamon and sugar bagel, no schmear. Upon first bite a long hair inside the bagel. The cashier asked me if I wanted my Chai tea hot or cold? I said, "hot.". Then she proceeds to tell me the steamer machine is down. My husband ordered a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. That is Not what he got. There was No bacon on his bagel. No thanks, I will not return.
Consistently slow and terrible service going on a year. Takes forever to order in the drive thru - even when there’s nobody there. Service people have always been rude and act put out. There’s not one person in line today and I’ve been sitting here 6 minutes without my order being taken. I pulled up and she said “wait please”. Then nothing. Finally I said “hello” and Tanya was obnoxiously rude.1/2 the time, they’ll mess up your order and give you the wrong bagel because they’re out of it and just don’t tell you.Tanya just gave me an onion bagel and I ordered garlic.Open another location this one sucks.
Employee seemed irritated over the speaker in the drive thru and when we pulled up to the window, they overcharged us for the wrong order. I know mistakes happen, but they did not handle it with grace. She employee was blatantly cussing with the window open, and had no idea what was going on.
Love this place when we come to Lubbock! I always get the Blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese smear. My hubby got the Farmhouse toasted. Can I just say yum!!!!! I took a bite of his breakfast and oh man was it good. Love this place!!! The staff is always nice too.
This is the slowest einsteins ever. I waited in the drive thru for 45 minutes and there were only 2 cars ahead of me. I gave it another chance thinking they must have been extremely shorthanded or something. I again waited in the drive thru for well over 30 minutes. Plus they had my order wrong. Not a big deal, it happens. I corrected the order before I paid, and they still left it wrong. When I corrected it the second time, they acted like it was a huge deal.Ive never had problems at the one on Slide, so we now drive out of our way because we know itll still be faster and better service.
When i walked in I was greeted by a very nice young lady in the lobby. I walked up to the case to look at the bagels and a few were not labeled so I was waiting for someone to come over to the "order here" sign. A lady with A LOT OF HAIR (not containedyells from the "pay here" sign "I can help you here". I told her I was wanting to know what kind of bagel it was since there wasnt a label. So instead of walking 5 steps she wanted to guess what one I was interested in. Instead I took one that was labelled. Ive never been to Einstein before so I didnt know what I could put on my bagel. She then pushed a sign out to me with choices. I guess I was just frustrated with the young ladys lazy attitude. This will be the last time I visit this location.
The bagels there are really good. I went there today though, ordered, and AFTER the girl slid my card, she proceeded to tell me they were out of the bagels I ordered! Very frustrating! If I would have been told that beforehand, it would have been absolutely no big deal.
Just left paying $3 for a cold not good cup of coffee and there latte machine is broken employees more worried about being outside to smoke. I did go back in and was giving a refund for a large coffee.
Einstein Bros is consistent with their product. I enjoy going in ordering my go-to bagels and knowing that I will get the expected product. The drive through is pretty efficient on Sunday mornings. Inside can get a little busy.
