This place is a place i highly don’t recommend to anyone looking for Chinese food in mru .firstly we arrived there and all the waiter were on there phones ,when we sat down the waiter did not bring enough menus we had to ask for more the waiter barley spoke English he was also sick he was sniffing his nose while he was taking our orders we ordered spring rolls and they came fast but they were very oily and there was no dipping sauce overall the service is terrible the music is way to loud they play pop music which is not fitting for a restaurant of this level the drinks are the worst they were very sweet and had very little juice inside just ice cubes and lemon on the other hand the noodles were somewhat good but other than that I do not recommend this place

Disgusting. Ordered a black bean teokon veg as take away but when returned home found a very poor quality tasteless chopsoye which consisted of only teokon and brède. Will never set foot there again.

One of the best restaurants in Mauritius, fantastic food, great staff and the live music on Saturday evenings is amazing. We have been to Eighty Eight many times and always gets a 5 star from me.

The menu was not good we got just buffet not value for money at all😑

Quite disappointing for what in on offer. There are better food options at Bagatelle, even if its not buffet style

Worst, Not even one star, clicked just to be able to post, got some take aways from them, i wonder if the chef (if he really isknows his job! At least respect the food and the customers please.

From the outside this place looked really nice, but from almost the moment we stepped inside it became clear this was a bad choice. Multiple dishes on the menu not available (how on earth do you not have spring rolls?!?!), very low quality meat used in each of the dishes, and service could be best described as “generally confused”. Very surprised it has customers, I definitely would not dine here again. I suppose it was reasonably priced if nothing else. Go find some mine frite from a street vendor and save yourself a disappointment here.

Rude and lazy waiters who do not clean up tables to welcome new customers. No sense of welcoming. Its all like a game to them. Unfortunately, because of this incidence, I did not have the chance (?To eat.

One of the quickest service i had for the delivery of food.But one of the female waiter was not friendly as it should be.

The food was good but it can be better, good presentation, nice deco, nice réception. Will go again for sure. Staff was very friendly also.

Very bad experience. We took canard aux légumes et gingembre and special fried noodles. For a price of 455rs we had very minimal pieces of duck (6 very thin slices). The fried noodles were not cooked enough and tasted raw. Disappointed and not at all recommended!!!

The food are excellent but the worst service I ever had in a restaurant..The waiters are just having their chat in between them without even caring about the Customers.. after my starter it me who had to move all the use plate on the tables..it just disgusting

Went for the Buffet and was slightly disappointed with the starters which were underseasoned...main course were Ok and desserts were dull to my taste... a bit pricey for the quality of food proposed

Buffet is OK, but not as tasty as the a la Carte. Slowest service Ive seen in the evening. They warned us that it was going to be slow but they could easily employ more people as the slow service seems connected to being understaffed. Given how busy it is at all times, they could easily afford more staff. Toilet was broken, no tissue, not very clean and staff had their stuff lying around outside the womens toilet. Its obvious they are not very good with taking care of their staff. Though service was slow, it was good customer service.

Lots of variety in the buffet...sweet and sour prawns is really goodThe roasted chicken and squid in the starters were also nice. The tofu dishes were also good.Totally recommended

The prawns were not properly clean, some foods were very salty, for the price I think it could have been better.

Went for my dads birthday and the place is awesome.. The food from starter to snack was very delicious. The food was not oily nor salty as compared to the negative comments on this restaurant.. We had nice family time and a great thumbs up goes to the pianist. Please ignore negative comments as we ourselves were a bit reluctant at the beginning.

The buffet was OK not great I liked the fried noodles and calamari were good. The dessert was rubbish. The fried rice was tasteless.

WORST FOOD EVER.. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE... went to spend quuality time with family..after longtime.. but total FLOP.. Had to wait for very long for a waiter to come + errors on the order when served. Food portion are surprisingly small, be it starter or main course. The food quality is also very low...no value for money overall. Even the one star I gave is too much.. not recommended at all..

lovely place. went for the Menu a la carte. ordered some foods and was very happy. a good choice.took a snap of the Bill for you to know our choices. highly recommend the Seafood Piquante Soup and the Chia Sew Chicken. marvelously deliciousssss.special thanks to Mr Kisnen who attended to our every requests.will come again.

Place is nice but the food I think changed compared to earlier. I didnt like the food as much, barely eaten out of a huge variety of food. Service is very bad, they take a lot of time to serve you, I had to leave without dessert because it was too late.

Not worth it at all. Very small portion of food for the price. The food is not well cooked and definitely lacks salt . I had to return a plate just because it was not cooked enough

Terrible experience, went for dinner with the whole familyThis restaurant is soooo expensive and the food is not even worth the price. The starters itself were so oily, we had to leave the restaurant after the starters itself. We cannot imagine how much the bill would have been if we sat for the main course. I would not recommend this place to anyone, save your money and time!!! There are other places much more affordable with better food!! F+AVOID AT ALL COST

Good restaurant, delicious food and, not expensive

Crispy chicken was very salty. Fried rice and noodles were way to bland. The waiting time was also very long.

I had wanted to try this place for years and finally had the opportunity to do so when they advertised for a buffet. This was a perfect opportunity to sample on several menu options at a low cost. I didn’t delay and snapped the Rs750 opportunity by booking a table. On arrival, I was promptly seated but left to myself for a good while. I wanted to order drinks first but no one came to me. So I got up and went to the buffet. Food options were quite extensive including a veg section. Stand out food were seafood wontons, eggplant fritters, sweet & sour fish and the black pepper beef. I managed to order drinks into the main course buffet and it took more than half an hour to reach me, by which point I was almost done eating. Dessert options were quite poor and they had run out of plates and cutlery for this too which meant another long wait to try something. Poor service, long wait for drinks and okay food means it only deserves a 2 star.

Had buffet dinner there. Food was good, except the trouble to take out the cover to take all dishes. A few time guest dropped the metal cover and making loud noise. Hope can improve in the buffet utensils with flip up cover.

They give the vibe that they are just here because they couldnt get a job elsewhere and they do the basic minimum expected.👎A lot of things on their menu are unavailable(ex: lamb nem.)👎They dont go the extra mile for their customers... Ex: ordering a boiled tofu instead of a fried one results in a rejection.

Not the same restaurant as compared to some years back. Had to wait for 45 min for 3 simple dim sum basket while the restaurant wasnt even packed. The dimsum werent the worth. Rest was good the waiter are friendly and explain everything. Clean place. Good ambiance and deco.

This restaurant is not worth the price they charge. Portions are measly, dishes are poorly seasoned, service is extremely slow & waiters do not have the courtesy to tend to clients. We had an awful experience with the family & would not recommend.

The atmosphere was good, lovely music. Had a great waiter. But i have to say that the food is terrible. We were served cold fried calamari, sent it back to get hot frozen soggy calamari.

It is not the first time.that I book this restaurant, been there around 10 times but I must say now that it seriously does not worth it. First of all, the Aircond was not working , everyone was sweating in that restaurant, spoke to the waiter he said he cannot do anything about it . The food was very oily. The noodles, fried rice, calamari everything was very oily. Ordered a bottle of water and it took 35 minutes to come, ordered tapioca dessert at last and it took them 45 minutes to bring it. So I am just asking myself...does this restaurant seriously worth the price ? Why would you pay this much and get treated like as if you were eating on the street ?(no differenceThe amount of money we paid there we could have gone to a 5 stars hotel ,have dinner there and of course get treated like we deserve.its a shame.

Nice chinese food, very nice setup, can also cater for private parties on the firat floor, affordable and good quality, dim sum is great

The place is okay. Good atmosphere. Especially if you are coming with collleagues. However, i would say that if you would have the menu before coming, then order before hand. It takes lots of time to get the food. Or the drinks.And they are not very attentive when ordering for the food. Like i asked not to have mushroom but i still i had it in my meal. Maybe we should have asked them again.Contrary to the waiter, the supervisor/ manager is very attentive and ready to explain the menu.Well overall it is an okay restaurant.

I was invited for lunch there on 04 June 2019. As the restaurant is in a mall, so parking facility is excellent. The restaurant specialises in Chinese Cuisine but surprisingly do not serve pork. The waitor seemed to be new as when I ordered a Smirnoff Ice, he said that they had none. So I decided to take a glass of Rosé wine. He came back after a few minuted to advise that in fact they has the Smirnoff Ice. He did not ask if we wanted a bottle of water and decided that he would remove the glasses. When I found out that I forgot to order water he has had to bring back the glasses with the water. Not very professional. Anyway the food was served rather quick as the restaurant was not full. Quality acceptable for the price paid.

Improvement needed.. Didnt like the lamb menu at all!

Looks great but not! I expected to be in an Chinese quite exotic restaurant. I expected to be impressed happy to eat Asian cuisine. I expected the plates to taste exotic. None were there. The food did not taste great; quite bland, not so tasty. The menu is varied but quite expensive a simple 100ml soup costs around $5. I am not sure I will visit again.

Bad Service. Too Oily Food. Our table was very uncomfortable, restraining us from extending our legs. We reserved for lunch but they literally improvised a table in front of us when we came. Additionally, we were not even welcomed properly when we arrived. So deceiving...
