Very good food. Not fast and not cheap but very teasty.

Good atmosphere and customer service. The fish and chips was a bit expensive for the quality of fried fish and quantity of fries.

Great vegan / vegetarian meal options, huge servings. friendly service, and neat vintage decor, tons of charm.

Nice place with a good ambiance. Friendly staff…! Food tasted good, they have plenty of veg options. I like the ordering process, you can just order it online while in the restaurant providing your table number or you can order it going to the counter. A nice woody restaurant with average good food at normal prices for Norway (which is extremely expensive overall; around 200-250 NOK / meal).You have to order from your phone or at the bar.A few vegetarian varieties, apart from fish, which might be the best alternative in Norway (not such a vegeterian friendly place): vegan boul, noodles and asian dish, some pizza varieties. They have Italian and American pizza, but of course the Italian one doesnt compair with true Italian pizza. Its just as good as anywhere else outside Italy.Glutenfree friendly.No terrace.

Service friendly, food is below average. Pizza cold, burger and pasta acceptable, fish soup is sour.

One meal came, chips were cold, veges were cold.2nd meal never came despite being told it was on the grill,after querying they “didn’t have a ticket” for my steak despite them being ordered together.I had to speak to the staff to find out what happened and get my meal cooked.Never came, left without the 2nd mealAs you prepay they could only offer cash as a refundWorst experience for a very long timeAvoid when busy

I came for pizza buffet (like a proffesional studentand there wasnt any vegetarian on the table, I asked for one and they made it - it was really cool and pizza was tasty, delicious sauces ! but salad buffet is only lettuce 🙈 i was hoping for some more vegetables, at least tomatos.Seaside climate inside.

we ordered two of the same dish and got completely different tastes one was bland and one was over spiced.but worse of all most staff was rude and confrontational. they shouted at a lady at the door because she was confused about at a certain process and was very dismissive and rude tones when we asked if the kitchen was open and for the toilet password. this lead to us not speaking up about our poorly done dishes as we did not want to deal with the staff.definitely DO NOT recommend there are way better restaurants near by.

Review written in English since more people will understand: we (group of 4), were seated on a dirty table to begin with. We ordered a appraiser, which we got 3 plates for?? We didnt get our drinks before we promptly asked for them later. The food (biffsnadder), was the driest and most tasteless Ive ever tasted. I regretted not eating some bread at home instead.When we were done eating, nobody came to clean off our plates so we could order some dessert, when i finally asked them to, we waited for the dessert for almost an hour, and again had to ask where they are. I mean it doesnt take that long to make a bannana split.1/10 experience, ill never go here again

Went for the all you can eat pizza buffet. Note that if youre vegetarian youll need to ask a member of staff to arrange a suitable pizza to be added to the buffet. It was well worth the wait. Maybe the best pizza Ive had in Tromsø. Highly recommended.

Amazing restaurant with great atmosphere. Food is tasty, wide variety however the portion can be quite small. Prices are affordable comparing to others in town.

There was a large piece of hair inside our salmon and when we stopped our meal to inform the staff they simply said “thanks for letting us know.” Overall table service level was poor and the food average.

I did my order at 19:47h. 1 veganbowl, 1 pizza prosciutto and 1 sotpotetfries. Im still waiting (more than 1h 30minfor the pizza. 30min ago I told this to the waitress and she has never done anything. I will never come again

Very good food and friendly staff. Prices are high but its a good deal considering that this is Norway 🇳🇴.You can have a good meal for 500 nok including beer. The location is good, in the city center of Tromso. You order and pay at the bar using your table number. Its a Norwegian take of a TGI Fridays restaurant. They have an all you can eat pizza bar in the afternoons.

The food is good, the plates are big, about the staff, some of them are polite, some others, no. We have visited, these days three of egon restaurants (Bergen-Oslo-Tromso), the menu is exactly the same in all of them, the design it is rustic in all of them, and we had the best fish soop at Bergen!

I loved it! Steak was really good, by the way, alcohol free, as all restaurants here 😉

Thin, creamy salmon and cod soup. Slightly tangy but very nice. Comes with bread and butter.

The pizza buffet (13€consists only in 2 or sometimes 3 pizzas, only one of them being vegetarian. The "salad" option is just some lettuce with one kind of dressing. I dont recommend it at all.

We had the cod fish and the salmon. Loads of options to choose from. The fish was ok, the food was not too warm though. Desert was really nice, we had the panacota was it was delicious. Nice atmosphere.

Note: never order Asian food here.Had the beef Bulgogi and "dumplings".The Bulgogi meat was decent on some parts. Half the meat was tender enough but other parts were really dry and hard to chew.The rice i got was mostly okay, but it had multiple chunks of completely hard rice that had probably been scraped from the bottom of the cooker. I mentioned this and got a new bowl of rice on the side. The second bowl of rice was overall fine. Nothing to brag about but fine. Right after the second bowl arrived someone else came with another one. This third bowl was atrocious. The rice was borderline paper-mache. No consistency, no nothing. I cannot fathom how in three bowls of rice you go from mostly okay but with hard parts, to decent, and then to literal mush.The chef is clearly incapable of making rice on a consistent basis and should refrain from doing it till he gets a grip.I also ordered the "dumplings". What i got was not dumplings, but steamed buns. These are not the same thing..I made the staff aware of the incorrect information on at least the English menu, and they said they would look into it.After i gave them the feedback i got the dessert on the house, which was fine, but also expected at that point.The Panna Cotta was actually very Good and very well made, which was at least somewhat a saving grace.The staff were very attentive and tried their best, so i will give plus points for that.Anyhow, until something changes, DO NOT order Asian food at this restaurant.

Was our sixth visit in one of the Egon restaurants along our tour up north and I would say, that one hit all marks. Service super friendly and attending, food was perfectly prepared and the tables spotless. Thanks to the Egon team for a great experience.

Food was delicious, but the modern way of ordering your food via mobile was somewhat difficult. Of course there is also a chance to order your drinks and food from the checkout but as tourists we found it safer to order within distance from other people. Our drinks and starters were brought to us at the same time with main dishes, which was kind of weird. Otherwise the staff was friendly and the restaurant itself was cozy.

Bergen Egon is better than Tromso Egon... Better food taste and behaviour of serving stuff. Love the taste of Bergen Egon resturant ... Had same food over there and here ... Thats why comparison came to mind ...

Egon Restaurant creates its own ambience. The tables are smaller then you would usually expect but that fits perfectly in the surrounding ambience. When it comes to the food you wont regret it. The Laksfilet, i.e. Salmon Filet, was super delicious and the dessert as well. Dont miss a starter too. One thing to notice you have to occupy a table -remember- the table number and -go- by yourself to the counter in order to order something.

Busy restaurant, with a quaint atmosphere and delicious food. Serves locally caught and produced, as well as catering to the fussy eaters who just want pizza or pasta. I had the salmon, it was beautifully cooked.

Beautiful ambience, due to the decoration one feels a little like in the museum, very well done. The food was very tasty. We ate a Pizza Parma, a BBQ Pulled Pork Burger with fries and a Ceasar salad. In addition there was a big fanta and a big beer, each 0.75 liters. In this restaurant is self-service, it must be ordered at the bar food is then brought, the drinks can be taken directly. For this a star deduction.

Decor is beautiful and filled with nice knickknacks and rustic wood panes. Prices are expensive, especially for the small portion. Menu is diverse with various food options. You order and pay at the bar.

We had all you can eat pizza lunch, which was priced rsasonably and was quite nice. But unfortunately there was never enough pizza, by the time you get to the counter there is only a few slices left. So my advice, get a table close to the pizza so you can see it when It comes. But I would go back, nice reasonable priced food.

A cosy Resteraunt. Food is really good and so is the service. Our group has lunch twice there because we loved the place. They provide a wide variety of foods. I would highly recommend the Salmon. The shrimp open sandwich was also good. My friends ordered burgers, soups and pasta. They all loved the food. The workers are well mannered and friendly.

A nice place to go for groups, its got something for everyone. Food is good, not great, but the location is nice and staff friendly.

It is a big restaurant with many choices, so everyone can find something they like. I normally go for the burgers because I love them but they have many more things that look great as well. Service is fast and friendly. All together a safe and good choice in Tromsø!

This is probably the only restaurant in Tromsø where you can dine as late as 1am. The foods here are really good and the staff very friendly.When you come into the restaurant, you dont need to wait for someone to come and find a table for you. You need find your own table, remember the table number, decide from the menu and order whatever you like at the bar. Your foods will be served very soon at your table. Therere take away boxes available if you cannot finish and dont want to waste your food, or you can just order takeaways.If you are one of the Midnight Night Sun Marathon runners like us, Egon will be your friend after the race. They open really late (2am?), you can have a decent post race celebration meal here.

We had the baked salmon. it was quite good. the food and ambience is quite nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. will come back as i had a good experience.

Must try in Tromso, good food in city center and friendly staff. The ambience is very unique and incorporate a lot of ship comments. We tried the cod, Thai soup and Bruschettas. They all were great and did not disappoint at all.

Got a lovely mix between restaurant / pub theme but very friendly helpful staff, food was great! Vegetarian options , Thai soup to die for ! Even after eating sat here for extra couple hours just relaxing tea on the house very happy with this place

Great feeling with great service! the prices are a little bit higher than everywhere else in Europe but you are in Norway so everywhere its expensive!

Ordered #540 wild cod fish, #512 wok chicken and tempura scampi, draft beer, and desert #751 hot apple cake. The main dishes tastes pretty good, both the fish and chicken scampi ones. The environment is very comfortable and pleasant. Although it’s self service you’ll need to order at the counter, the waiters are very friendly to ask you if you like the food and any thing or help is needed. In short, I like the casual atmosphere and pleasant environment in the restaurant. The food are delicious too.

I eat out a lot. This year I’ve maybe eaten 300 days out. This is, easy, the worst meal of all year. The Christmas Plate was really really infamous. To make it worse, it’s expensive...

Decent place to eat in Tromso, but nothing especial. Opens till late. Good food and service. Salmon was OK, but not as good as expected.
