Casual daytime dining chain serving American comfort food in family-friendly surroundings.
Nice basic cafe, but service a bit inattentive. If you have their attention you will be pleased with how and what they offer.
Pastries and Pfannkuchen were very tasty, taking one star out because I was in the hope of having one of those curved spoons for my latte macchiato. Otherwise very good service.
Just walked out from this place. Most of the tables were empty, yet they said I can eat only at the bar (breakfast 09.00am), I said i would eat and leave quickly, so they should not worry about the table, still they insisted that I have to be seated at the bar (again - most of the tables were empty at the moment!). Ok, I agreed. What‘s next? They said they are excepting only cash 😆. So I left to the breakfast place just across the street WALDEN and breakfast and service there was wonderful.
I had a delightful breakfast here. Note it is cash only, but there is a sign out front that says this in German and English. They have English menus, just ask. Good translate helped me tough through it though.I ordered the Bornheim and it was a lot for one person. I was a bit disappointed the fresh fruit was cut so thin, but it made up for it in freshness and taste.Overall, definitely 4* for my experience.
We came for breakfast early in the morning, and I believe you have to book in advance or you’ll end up in a bad table in the corner lol.The food was okay but I didn’t like the fact that it was cash only
Food was amazing but the service was a bit off. They were busy but it’s not a reason to skip me when I’m trying to pay for 15 min…Would still come back !
The wide variety of breakfast choices , very friendly and nice staffs (only drawback is cash only placethe quality is perfect
Nice decoration and location in the centre and works well with reservations. However, the staff was not friendly and helpful. The food is ok, nothing exceptional, besides the pantry with the jars of jam.
Nice location to have a breakfast on a weekend but other than that everything else is average. The price is expensive, food is not upto the mark and service is not good.
Osthafen + Flat White. Mixed bread basket, butter, smoke salmon, home-made cream cheese, avocado, ramen egg and fresh slices of fruits. Almost got reminded of Switzerland food when I ordered this after examining the menu for something that I would prefer. The cafe is a popular breakfast spot for locals and has a wide variety of jams. The homemade cream cheese is pretty good but minus points for the lack of coffee art which feels more latte than flat white.
Two brunch+two normal juice(they have freshly squeezed too)+one cold brew coffee = 43€. It was okay, not really our style or amazingly good but as a traveler, I can say its an experience. But when we tried to pay she said they dont accept the cards. Which is what she shouldve told us before we order. I dont understand it since its not cheap.
Crepe/pancake was nice. Croissant was not French. Espresso good. Ate on patio but smokers a nuisance. They dont accept credit cards which was an issue when we did not have enough cash. Good thing I didnt have to do the dishes.
love the omelettes!coffee was okay, service was decent.but Omg the omelettes! go get some!
I recommend. Really good work and food. Worker was really good and nice same as other ones. Go here and see the looks inside. And it’s near getheos house so you can visit also that
Very expensive for the quality of food/service you get. Ordered an omelette, some rucola leafs (+€1.90a few slices of tomato (+€1.90etcetera. Would not recommend.
This is a centrally located nice cafe with outdoor and indoor seating. Everything was good but not exceptional. The service was a bit slow. It’s a good option since their selection of food is not very limited and it is very close to the center.
It is the WORST CAFE in whole Europe. I am not kidding. When I asked the waiter whether he could give me the English menu and he said yes .And I just waited for 15 mins for the menu and I just asked another waiter for the menu . He said they don’t have English now and gave me the German menu. When I waved him and ask for some questions and he just answers 2 words and left. In the end, I just waited for 20 mins but still no one come and order my food. I was soooo angry and left the cafe .
A good start for weekend morning :)
Too expensive for low quality food, they ask you to pay 1,50€ more for one more bread, and there aren’t enough bread already in the basket. Moreover, the waitress is not friendly at all, not polite and speaks very fast with us and doesn’t take time to explain us things. If we ask her for details on the menu, she keeps sighing, I mean, it’s her job to explain, no?Also, she didn’t have coins to give us back money, so she gave us less money that it was supposed to be.Avoid this place !
In a side street away from the bustling business and shopping areas is a quiet oasis of calm. Good breakfast selection. It gets busy though.
The location amazingThe food are very very delicious 🤤The staff are sooooo friendlyThe coffee are excellentThe tables are cleanThe prices are reasonable compared to the food quality
15mn to take a order, 30mn to bring the order, 15mn to wait to pay. We just ordered two cappuccino ( not the longest order to take or make ). People arrived before us, ate breakfast, pay and left before we even got our order. No sorry or anything. Never again
One of the waiter so rude. She don’t have good communication skill at all. I was wonder why she got hired and working in customer service if she don’t know how to talk with customer. First, she was rude to me when she taking my order. I ordered scrambled eggs with croissant but she bring me the omelette with croissant and she gave the reason they don’t do scrambled eggs with croissant because its not in the menu. Its ridiculous reason for me. She should explain about it when she taking the order. She even make a face. Its really rude. When we want to pay, she said only cash. She don’t even mention it before or after taking an order. Im really upset with the service from this waiter. Other waiters was good except her. To Owner or manager of Cafe Karin - you guys should do something about this because im sure this is not first time she being rude to customer. I never gonna come back this cafe because of the service from this particular waiter.
The waitress was very rude!! A little piece of cake costs 4,50 EUR and it was old and dry. I would not recommend anyone to come here!!!
Average food. They forgot my friend’s order and it came about 15 minutes after we reminded them (and long after I had finished my food). His order was a wrap with smoked salmon and greens which should take 30 seconds to assemble… They didn’t even bother to say sorry either. The lady who brings the food is very nice but the other lady who I believe is the “main” waitress and takes orders isn’t.
While going to take a look at the Leica Store exhibition, not knowing it was Sunday, although Monday would have been as closed, I passed a little coffee place and saw that there was a line outside. After being disappointed by the Leica store being closed, decided to take a look at that coffee place, as I had 1 hour to waste.I managed to get a small table, although place was almost full at 10.Coffee was nothing spectacular but, due to the high number of cakes that you could choose from, I decided to eat a orange cheesecake and a Frankfurter. These were really good and I could also cross test using the coffee as a cleanser.Staff was pretty ok and came when you called them. Did not have to wait much for my order. As customary, you get your drink first and as soon as your main, or desserts for me, order is ready, they will bring it to you.
It is a place with a nice cozy feeling. It is not easy to find a spacious breakfast place like this one in Frankfurt. The service is very friendly but not a high quality. It is Frankfurt style. The food menu could be better. It is a very classical menu with limited vegan options or healthy ones.
Let me explain: the food was fresh and good quality. However nothing was really memorable and everything was too pricey, imho, especially when compared with portions size. Finally it is really UNACCEPTABLE that in 2022, in the middle of Frankfurt, few meters from the ECB, it is not possible to pay with credit card or EC.
Cozy and nice place .. food was greatIf you ever woke up late and miss ur breakfast this place is happy to serve you till 6 pm 😁
We came from a Stuttgart with no plans and we came across this cafe through google. I am glad that we hadn’t planned for anything and we got to experience this amazing cafe. The food was top of the line and the breakfast combination was mesmerizing. The food was good value for the money and the staff were too helpful and friendly. If you are going to Frankfurt you must pay them a visit!
Very friendly staff , and also amazing service. However the breakfast wasnt the best. I got the club sandwich which was okay, nothing special. The salad was cold and so was my friends breakfast. The avocado cream was really not up to to the mark. However we also ordered the croissant and omelette and those two i would say were the highlight.
Came here for what we thought would be a nice Sunday breakfast. We received our drinks after 20 minutes. Our food after one hour! The server had completely forgotten about our order when we reminded him about it. The food turned out to be average at most. The breads tasted stale. The service was most unpleasant. You cannot pay by card here.
Too long to wait, and they serving a cheapest tee that you can find in store, however food is very tasty.
It is truly lovely. Nice interior and delicious food. The toilets are nice and sanitary (at least in the mens bathroom). The bowls are pleasing and intriguing. I was enjoying myself a lot in there. The restroom resembles a place of tranquility and privacy, Cafe Karin was able to capture this exact ambience splendidly. I could finish my business with a solemn outburst of happiness. I can recommend this Cafe as it is good.
Id say the Breakfast reviews are bit hyped up!Average service - the staff was pressing for a tip, find it oddly increasing trend in Frankfurt!Average food - taste was ok, and portion size isnt great.. not a value for money.Omlette was good, breads were not good - prettty bad for any cafe to have not so good bread, crossiant, etc.Great ambiance and feel though!
We arrived at 9am when they open. Not many people there yet. Only 3 tables (include usbut the staffs are soooo slow. The staffs were not attentive at all and not very friendly. When we entered the cafe. they were not busy but they let us wait so long until they took us to the table. After we got a menu. It took at least 15 minutes until they came to take the order. We ordered breakfast plate which include a basket of breads. I asked if i can change some breads to be croissant. I said i wanted to have 1 white bread and 1 croissant. But i got 1 croissant and many kind of breads except a white bread.. but thats ok. My breakfast plate with egg, cheese, ham, cream cheese and salami was very delicious. But breads were not good at all. Especially croissant. Its not really a croissant. It was bread that look like croissant. The price is too expensive for the foodquality that you get.Good location. Cold pressed juice was great. Coffee was very good too. Cakes look yummy. They have many kind of cakes but unfortunately i didnt try any.
The place is great, I really love to come here but yesterday I got a very unfriendly waitress, the table was with water and she just put the menu there and for 2 cappuccinos we were waiting almost 20 minutes and the cake 5 minutes more, I hope this change in the future and may be we can go back again😒
Nice cafe in the center without crowds of tourists. The terrace is a big advantage. You can take coffees and pancakes with different fillings. The waiters are a little bored
Nice place to have a brunch, the environment is good and quiet. The brunch was good and served in nice quantity. The price doesn’t include the tips and the coffee isn’t in the brunch menu, at the end it’s a bit expensive. If you are looking for a good coffee, the chai latte elephant (vanillawas delicious.
Top and cozy place in Frankfurt! Good food and atmosphere, perfect for brunch!
Great place for a casual meal. I really enjoyed the tomato soup. Cosy environment & friendly staff.
We tried the farmer’s omelette and had a great breakfast here. Service is really good as well. Coffee was a little disappointing though. Cash only.
- Delicious breakfast. The omelet was fantastic and the pancakes were ok as it is different from the American style pancakes that I am used to.- The hot chocolate was really nice.-The service was slow.In general, I recommend trying the cafe if you want delicious food and can tolerate delays in the service.
We sat almost 6 min. Nobody came. We went inside. I said, I wanna a beer. They responded not very well. I was at 9 pm. Service is not pretty well. After one more beer, I have to wait more than 5 minutes. That is not a service. I love to drink beer but this times was terrible
Had breakfast here the other day, cozy atmosphere, prices are okay for the Frankfurt inner city (paid around 27€ for a big breakfast for two people), the coffee was not the best one I ever had but still good, can recommend the omelet which was really tasty.
Great place for a enjoyable, casual meal. I had a full day layover in Frankfurt and stopped here to have a leisurely brunch. The food was really nice and the staff was extremely kind (contrary to some of the other reviews I read). I came on a Wednesday morning so it was very quiet, but I would recommend it if youre looking for a place for brunch. Plus there was outdoor seating which was really nice to enjoy the sun.
Nice place fo breakfast or brunch on weekends. You can choose your Marmelade on your own. Service is fast and friendly. Very busy on Sundays in brunch time, so it has to be waited for 15-20 minutes to be seated. But still it worth it.
We went to this place because it was recommended by our tour guide. It’s located next to Goethe’s birth house. We take three hot chocolate and two pieces of cake. All was ok, and the staff were not so friendly. Prices are... ok.
Delicious food and great service! We ordered the pancakes and omelette and cheese / charcuterie board to share. Everything was fantastic and portion sizes were generous.
The breakfast options are plenty. You can mix choices however you want. I put salmon in my eggs but the salmon was overcooked. Black coffee was decent. At 11am on Friday, it was crowded and service was slow but staff was friendly and attentive. There is an English menu.
