175-acre site with many rose varieties, themed gardens & parks, plus disc golf & a fine arts center.
Nice break from all the traffic on 26.
Beautiful place to get some rest and clear your mind
Beautiful roses and benches, to sit to have lunch and and taking a a walk around the park. It was very relaxing .
Enjoyed this place my whole life and now so does my kids
Lovely walking gardens full of roses. There are also azaleas, walking trails along the river, and themed garden areas. Its always a lovely experience.
I seen a gator swimming upstream at Edisto gardens in Orangeburg SC
Very dependent on what is currently blooming, but the river walk is always nice.
This has a very touching memorial for those that have lost their children
Not worth stopping for! The walk goes around marsh land and all you see is copperheads; you cant even get near the flowers- nothing but wet marsh!
Park itself is nice but had a number a people laid out on the ground under the gazebo and along the benches. Wouldnt go alone. We didnt finish the boardwalk.
This was such a great experience. I enjoyed the walk and the roses! I am a country girl at heart and this tooook me to my happy place. The park is welllllll maintained. I will return and will definitely recommend to friends!!!!!
Brought my kids here for the splash park and picnic cause the weather is in the triple digits and what are the odds it’s completely closed the look of disappointment on my childrens faces this is a very beautiful clean park not sure why it was closed just know it’s extremely hot and this would of been nice to know prior to coming
One of Orangeburg favorite places to take a stroll any day of the week. It is nice, quiet, with a Forrest scenery. I love the Open water fountain with the Plam tree that sits in the middle. I also like taking pictures there.
Pleasant park, with ample parking available. Nice place to spend some time walking or with the family, beautiful and pleasant enough for a good photoshoot.
Since my son was about 4 years old he has enjoyed coming for walks and to take pictures. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature.
Such a beautiful rose garden, and its free to attend!
Great Place! The Garden is quiet and peaceful. The bridges lead to different directions of the attraction and each dead-end had something different to offer. Highly recommend.
What a beautiful park!! We didnt stay long but will definitely return!!
Beautiful gardens during 1st April and Mothers day and even better it has a free admission!
Brings back a lot of childhood memories. Its good to see the scouts raise money to keep up the gardens. Its been maintained well but could use some extra help from the county. I do love this place and love taking my little to visit as well. Wish they had some food dispensers to feed the turtles and ducks, bread isnt good for them. Great nature walk for everyone, very peaceful.
Edisto Memorial Gardens is a wonderful time out from a busy schedule. It is a wander through a beautiful garden, a solemn, serene river stroll, or a hearty, brisk walk. Meditate, visit with friends or family, and enjoy some much needed fresh air. My favorite thing is to walk my dog around the boardwalk and pond area and enjoy the scenery of nature.
Flowers year round & they’re all gorgeous. Such a peaceful walk through the gardens.
My daughter and my 3 Grandsons visited here from out of town on Christmas. It was very nice. We drove through it. Then my daughter decided to take the 3 year old to walk around while I stayed in the car. With the 2 younger ones while they were sleeping.
We had a really enjoyable afternoon walking the trails here and going through the rose garden, which was --surprisingly -- still very much in bloom despite it being the first week in December. The trails along the river were gorgeous and peaceful, and the Christmas lights shown like jewels despite it being daytime.
Its tradition for my family to walk through the Christmas lights every Thanksgiving weekend. The lights were especially bright this year and we really liked the new lights that were added. We miss visiting the Santa in the gazebo and they only played one song on repeat this year which got annoying. Other than that we enjoying visiting every year!
A wonderful place to stop, picnic, and walk around. Camellias and roses are the fall highlights. The supporters of the garden should be very proud.
Wonderful. Rose garden and wetland park are together. Great place to take a long walk.
Beautiful rose garden. Nice walking paths. Decked out for Christmas🎄
Such a beauty in Orangeburg and pleasurable experience for new comes quite clean and very memorable
Loved this place! So beautiful. Lots of different trails with different scenery.
Beautiful and wasnt even in the peak of blooming!!
You have to experience for yourself but absolutely gorgeous!!
Sweet little park. The rose gardens were in bloom and the colors were phenomenal. Great picture taking opportunity for the kids.
This place is full of beauty!! Edisto Memorial Gardens is an outstanding place for a family outing, romantic picnic, bridal photo shoot, engagement photos, just to name a few. There is a cool grassy path that you and your love ones can walk along holding hands while enjoying the serenity of the garden. You can take a breather and sit on any of the benches around the fountain. The grassy path way leads you to a wooden bridge, a full bridge that literally has all sorts of twist and turns. One word of caution, a tree fell on one section of the bridge and we were unable to explore that area as it is blocked off for safety precautions. There are monuments and statues as well as various fun facts about the garden. Each section of the garden has the name of the flower visible. Just a word of warning as there are numerous caterpillars crawling on and around the bridge. I definitely plan to return mainly to see the plethora of butterflies that will be gracing the area in the upcoming weeks and months. The ducks are friendly and are not afraid of humans. They will literally walk alongside you and approach you so dont be alarmed.
Beautiful place! Needs more parking space..we had to park across a very busy 4 lane street.
Beautiful place! Loves all the flowers!
The garden was lovely even in January. I can imagine how lovely it would be when the rose garden is blooming. Highly suggest a visit and stroll along the boardwalk to lks.
Even in January the rose bushes look good! We will be back back when the roses are in bloom We enjoyed walking around the boardwalk and seeing such beauty. This place will be on our list to return. A big thank you for those who take care of all those beautiful roses.
Love this place! I love walking the boardwalk. The flowers are lovely and the river gives you life!
Let me start by saying this was the first park in South Carolina that we visited and we did it on Easter! It was so beautiful! The flowers and statues and fountains at every turn were well kept and breath taking. They had a bridge with tadpoles in the water! The kids loved seeing them swim around. The fountain was super cool! I had to do a double take because the water changes and I didnt see it do it but I heard the water change. It was a fun surprise. My kids liked watching me trip out about it changing. We plan to go back and have a picnic. If you found this review or the photos helpful please like the review.
Edisto Gardens is a great place to visit for two main reasons! One, its always well kept and makes for a nice walk outside. Two, its one of the best places in Orangeburg for a photographer!
Nice little area with great trees and many variations of roses in season. The river is different and lovely in a low-country kind of way.
We went as a family but in winter. They had everything lit up in a festive display with Christmas music. Walking trail and a roadside display you drive through. Free of charge. I can only imagine it in the spring. Will definitely be checking it out.
Nice gardens and park right off the old downtown Orangeburg. Scenic walk by the river and many banches provide great places to enjoy the nature. Pavillion with fauntain view. When roses are in bollon they add a great visual effect!
Beautiful, serene location. Could use a small church or school group to pick up trash. Beautiful flora and birds.
Really enjoyed the Rose festival. My grandbaby rode every ride. The food and fun was amazing. The weather held up and people really enjoyed themselves especially the kids. The roses were in full bloom and they were beautiful!
Had a great family outing and great choices of food ,lived the music and the kids dancing..
Great place to visit. Flowers were dying due to the time of year but place was very well kept. The black river is beautiful! The pond there is filled with turtles and they come up close to see us. There is lots of geese and ducks as well. Several waterfall type features and plaques all over to memorize heros
It was hot when I was there. 90 degrees but the shade was beautifully cool. The water with the geese, ducks and turtles were nice. And the collection of roses available were stunning even in this heat.
Wonderful trails and a lot of variation. The sensory garden is very nice. There is a trail along the river. Sculptures and other artwork can be found throughout.
