Eden Alley Korean Restaurant and Karaoke in Christchurch

Excellent Korean food in Christchurch while we visited. Lots of people, but ample of parking space. Must try if you are in the area.

The food is delicious! The staff are awesome, very accommodating and professional. Eden Alley Korean Restaurant is far the best and more hospitable than Ye-Chon BBQ (worst Korean restaurant in New Zealand)!!!!!

Such a great meal out. The side dishes are a highlight, my favourite dish was the kitchen pancake. Very friendly and helpful staff too

It wasnt great. My food wasnt properly cooked, had no flavor. This is an imitation of what korean food can be. I do not recommend

Food was pretty good. I got the chicken and tteokbokki! After eating for a bit, you get sick of the taste, but it was still great!Karaoke rooms are awesome for hanging out with friends and family! The small rooms are pretty cheap when you go as a big group. Strongly recommended for relieving your stress!

Very sad experience. My family came earlier than our reservations. So we decided to come inside and asked if we can sit and have our dinner. We came inside the restaurant with only 1 group of young boys eating in the restaurant.. no people queuing and it’s just empty sits. When I approached the staff and said that we wanted a table but we came early than we expected.. he said there’s no available table… our reserved table was the table where the boys are having their dinner at that moment.. but we looked around and all are empty sits.. he said all empty tables are reserved for all walk-ins customers??? And we need to wait for 20mins. I was wondering why do we have to wait for 20mins if there’s no people queuing at that time and literally no one around. So my family just decided to cancel our dinner with them and went to different restaurant. Unexpected service. We heard a lot of good feedback about this restaurant but, unfortunately we didn’t get a good service from them.

Nice portion and friendly service.

I heard this is the best Korean food New Zealand has to offer. Some said the foods are even better than Auckland. Personally, I found the food did taste nicer than Few Korean restaurants I visited. I enjoyed the ox tail bone soup. My favorite is the seafood noodle soup which there are not many Auckland Korean restaurants has.

Came here for lunch and had a great experience, the food was incredible and the staff was so nice. Only "downside" was we ordered waaaay to much and ended up having leftovers for a couple of days. Its a shame there arent better views because its such a nice space with big windows, but I suppose Riccarton is to blame!

I had the fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce. Absolutely delicious!

This is my first restaurant to visit by myself. Its like my new comfort place. They have a karaoke and a wide variety of dishes.I highly recommend this place if you want to try korean cuisine while enjoying the atmosphere. Customer service is also noteworthy 👌 good job. I want to visit it again.

The food is delicious. Staff are nice and welcoming. The place just looks fine but a bit of organization and beautification will give the customers a better experience. The parking is also limited here but you can park on the road.

Hits the spot (: the staff are Korean so the food tastes authentic with generous portion sizes. Service was great too. I had the 잡채 $17.50 and 계란찜 $7.50. Would have loved to try their stews and pancakes - I’ll return for that next time !

Went for first time a week ago. So good Ive already gone back and taken others to experience it.Staff and very friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious and speedy coming out. Portion sizes are perfect and cheap for the size.The only down side is that credit cards have a small surcharge - this wont be stopping me from going back again.

Good food and big portions so be careful not to over-order! We had the stew ($50and the seafood pancake ($24and it was too much food for two people, so we had to get takeaway containers for $0.50 each.

The option for 0 stars, forced to select a star:Poor and irresponsible service, ordered vegetarian and specifically told the waitress "vegetarian" three times. However, was given seafood, did not see the prawns under the cheese until later on. If I had an allergy, my life would be compromised. Worst place and would not recommend. If you cannot follow instructions, you fail as a business.

Worst dining experience i have had in Christchurch didnt come around to ask for drinks forget peoples meals staff had no clue what was going on with bookings or meals. booked for karaoke on arrival one staff member said we hadnt and the other staff member assured us that we had. end of night said that we could do karaoke after saying all night that we couldnt, karaoke translation was really bad. then charged a ridiculous price for room hire after having to talk to the manager twice overall bad experience and would not recomend to anyone looking for a fun and care free night. also be carefull that you dont slip onpisss when walking in to the toilets!!!!

It’s not bad food. But I can’t say delicious. Just normal food. I’ll not go back this restaurant again. But if I should choose one good thing which I have experienced at Eden, I probably say parking area!

One of my go to places for Korean food, I like their side dishes and their Pork Backbone soup. However have been quite disappointed with the customer service. We went there for dinner after a concert, it was quite late but definitely before their kitchen closing time. Ordered my usual Gamjatang and it was drowning in oil. The meat itself was cold but the sauce was smoking hot, the potato was undercooked. I let the server know who said sorry and offered me a soft drink but still went on to charge the full amount of a very unsatisfying stew. Tbh it didn’t even taste like the Gamjatang I have known to love. Disappointed and will think about going again.

I have been there two years ago. But I wont back after this time. Poor service and dispoint food. We went to there on Tuesday. Only three group customers. But we wait for a while to get response every time. Besides we ordered bbq, they gave us almost empty gas bottle for use. Their fried chicken also worst Korean chicken, quite shame for that. Do you change the ownership?

찌개 for life! Had a bit of fever before I came and the spicy tofu soup was kicking me back to being alive. It was a nice dinner, thanks.

Great place to have Korean food. Yummy food with nominal price tags. My favourite was spicy chicken stir fried. BBQ was awesome as this place is known for. Samosas were also good. Stuff service was good. Highly recommended.👍👌

Our meal here was fabulous. The only qualms I have is:1We waited for 5mins to be shown to our table2Not having dined at a Korean BBQ before, it wouldve been appreciated if the process of using the hotplate to cook said food was explained in the beginning.

This was my first time trying Korean food.The food arrived fast, and fresh. The Waitress was super friendly, and had top notch customer serviceI cant wait to come back and try something new on the menu, I had the spicy squid and pork belly it was delicious!

Pleasant service with good food. Quite authentic Korean dishes but not the normal large portion you would typically associate with asian restaurants. The good thing is the authentic constant refill of the side dishes and theyre yummy, although some variety to change with different days would be nice. Parking at this outlet can be limited and DO NOT park at other lots except the designated ones for the restaurant if you want to risk being wheel locked.

Delicious food, super friendly, funny, kind staff. We got complimentary starters and the waitress helped me pick out my first ever sura (which was delicious!!wish our table was just a tiny bit bigger to fit all the delicious food on it. Reasonable prices for the food and portions you get!

Food tasted really great. Definitely order the fried chicken and the steam egg.

We ordered two kimchi stew yesterday. But the tofu in my bowl was spoiled. At the beginning. I was think that taste soar is because kimchi, but when I try my friend’s one. It’s taste totally different. So I tell the waitress. But after 5 to 10 minutes, she told me that chef said the tofu is okay. Does she think that the sense of taste of the four people has a problem? ??I had a stomachache in the morning, so I thought it was necessary to write it down.such a disappointing experience!

Not many places deserve a true 5 starts. Eden Alley is one of them. Great tasting food, excellent side dishes added as part of the main meal. The "Don Katsu Bento" deep fried pork cutlet lunch box is amazing.

Yum!!! First time having Korean bbq and the hostess was Amazing! She took very good care of us, helping cook our food, recommending how to get the best flavours by using the sides. The food the service and the atmosphere were Amazing!!!

Absolutely delicious and authentic feeling Korean place. We ordered spicy rice cake, pancake, pork belly hotpot, beef ribs, and steamed egg. All of these were amazing. Side dishes were fairly standard, but they do offer free refills, which is nice.The service was good and the prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend over ordering like we did and doing takeaway!

Great tasting authentic Korean food.Friendly and genuine staff.Good atmosphere.Parking is limited, so you may want to park elsewhere nearby.Always have a good time and great meals whenever we go.

We came as a group of 5. Eat quite a lot but the veggies tray for BBQ as if it a proportion of 1 people :The waiter seemed seemed to be quite mad. Not sure what happened to him yesterday. But he is fast in service.In general, the food is good and the atmosphere is cozy.

This restaurant used to be on casual street in town. Now moved to a larger restaurant with indoor space. However the parking space is comparatively alot less than the capacity of the restaurant. There are private parking at the back but cars will get towed if parked at the wrong spots, some parking off street. The food is as great as it used to be, large portion, authentic taste, quick table service even when they are busy. There are karaoke rooms available too, not sure how it works.

Very good Korean food with friendly and fast customer service. Their hot stone pot bibimbap and chicken soup (samgyetangwere delicious and authentic. However I give 4 stars for their average interior seating.

Always a lovely experience and booking gets you in one of the rooms.

Yeah boy! Korean fried Chicken was 10/10, bulgogi was great, Soju amazing, one of my best Korean restraunt experience.

Amazing food, absolutely loved it. One thing you might have to tell them to bring entree first. We received our entree and main at the same time but this is probably my fault or perhaps Korean style.

Authentic Korean food. Especially the potato beef soup was the best of best. Their side dish and the fried chicken were awesome as well. Highly recommend this place. The beef stew (galbijjimwas a bit sweet and nice but the portion was not enough for one adult man.

Excellent Korean food. Some of the best Korean food youll find in Christchurch. The service is very good. The premises were slightly dirty, which we found off-putting. But we keep coming back because the food is so darned good and we know well always be happy.
