Basic neighborhood eatery featuring traditional Chinese dishes plus take-out & delivery capability.
Take out many, many times. Always good food & pleasant service.
This was our first time here and we will be back. The house fried rice was delicious, as was the orange chicken. Only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars was that we didn’t love the egg rolls, but everything else was fire!!! No one is perfect at everything :)
Best Chinese food Ive had. Too bad I live in CT I would come here all the time
Terrible food the batter on the shrimp was aweful falling off way too think barely any sauce missing items from my order the Szechuan dumplings the worst thing I’ve ever tried total waste of money never again
They always have the best good ever
Delivery driver and person who took order were extremely rude to my friends who ordered delivery to my home. Delivery driver rang my doorbell MULTIPLE TIMES and banged on my front door instead of calling my friends and then disrespectfully handed them the food and walked away. Customer service was awful and their food is subpar at best.
Very nice Lo mean. The tofu kung puo. Ask for hotter if you like it spicy. Its perfect for many midwesteners.
Went becuse of the reviews and yesgood food and flavor called ahead to orderRang no answer called 4 times tryingSo had to go there to place order and wait for it because of this could not order ahead for take out. waited 20+ minutes for the order to be doneFrustrating there werent busy kids working but never heard any phone ringing at all when I was there waiting either StrangeAlmost dinner time also!!!
Love their lunch specials. Great lunch Express selections, In and out and take out.
Eddie chengs has been a favorite of mine for over three years now. As of lately thier customer service and food quality has hit rock bottom! Didnt even get what I ordered tonight and then was hung up on! Well Ill be taking my business elsewhere and I suggest you do too!
Probably the best Chinese food I’ve had in Minnesota. Highly recommend this place!Food was delicious. Ordered at the counter and didn’t wait too much to get it. You can also call ahead and pick up. Will definitely come back!Great customer service and clean establishment.
This place is on our home’s speed dial for home delivery.
Food was amazing. I had the chicken chow mein fun. Will definitely be having dinner here again.
There food is disgusting there chicken fried rice gave me a headache there sesame chicken is old literally OLD it’s hard and crunchy. If you like this place you gotta be a disgusting person. They don’t even deserve one star.
The service here is poor quality. My girlfriend and I placed an order with them and repeated the order twice. We ordered a house special noodles dish. They gave us the house special without the noodles. We went inside to let them know that the noodles were missing without being upset and the female employee told us we should do better next time to order, but the gentleman who took our order repeated our order back to us perfectly. So who’s fault is it? Then my girlfriend wanted a soda and we were told we would have to pay a $5 minimum, but we just paid $24 for our order. The other employees laughed at us and we left. The owner came out to give us the soda and waved us away like “just leave”. There is a sign on their door saying “wear a mask so we stay in business” but there were 3 chefs without masks. I dont usually get bothered, but coming here really felt like we just didn’t belong there. I would hope no one else experiences this.
I have tried a number of Asian restaurants over the past 5 years. My previous go-to for over 20 years was Kwan’s on 54th & Penn, but their quality and taste declined significantly when taken over by new owners around 2015. I have given them multiple chances over the past years, but no improvement has been made. Cadeo Express on 67th and Penn Ave S has been very good, but their prices have risen higher than competitors and they are not open on weekends. Red Pepper at Southdale Square has also been good, but their prices are also on the higher end. I have now found Eddie Cheng and am very satisfied with their food quality, taste and prices. They currently only support take-out and delivery, but I don’t mind driving over to place / pickup my order. I believe they have the best quality for the price of any other local option.
My shrimp and vegetables had mushy shrimp. I no longer trust this place!!!I am sick to my stomach!!Not cool.....Ive visited this place many times...What is really going on?.
Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the city. I always get beef and broccoli and chicken fried rice, and theres always a lot of the beef and broccoli sauce/gravy which is great for pouring onto the white rice it comes with. The chicken fried rice is occasionally a bit heavy on the oil but I like it more than it being very dry. The potstickers/dumplings are good, the wrap is a bit thick for my personal preference but if youre looking for a tasty thick wrapped dumpling then this place is excellent. These are the only things Ive bought here because Im a creature of habit but my friends and family also come here often and they love everything they order and it always smells and tastes great. The kitchen team is always incredibly fast with cooking the food, delivery is always faster than when I order pizza, and everyone who works here is courteous and very professional.
Ordered 2 entrees and 2 fried rice, and fried dumplings. $70. Received 1 entree and 1 fried rice. Called the restaurant and was told Im wrong, all the food was received, maybe theyd call be back later... Never will go here again. Terrible customer service and they ripped me off for $40.
Very satisfying Chinese stir fry!Price and serving size are cheap and generous. Delivery was prompt food arrived supper hot and fresh.Would recommend for quick and tasty meal.
I ordered lunch special shrimp with veg and sesame chicken. The food was great but they only gave me 1 broccoli and 2 snow peas and 2 shrimps. I called back to let them aware and they told me to drive 15 minutes back to get more!! Not going to that store again! Bad customer service and attitude problems.
This has become my new "go-to" Chinese restaurant. The parking area is difficult to get in and out of, but its worth the effort. I ordered the house chow mien and egg rolls for the first time yesterday (4-20-21), received a huge portion, and will definitely have enough food for 3 meals!
Tried this place on a whim. Was not disappointed!! I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and Sweet n Sour Chicken. So delicious! And fresh! To think I almost ordered Chipotle!? How dare I!! As long as I’m in the area, this will definitely be a weekly thing. 👌🏼
The food is always delicious and delivered quickly. I usually get General Tsos, but last night decided to try the Amazing Chicken. Very good! Prices are comparable to similar restaurants in town.
This is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant. We have been ordering from them for years. It is located in a strip mall. They have some tables (closed now due to covid), but the dine-in experience would be very basic. A utilitarian place to sit and eat. Really no ambiance, and you order your food at the counter, so no service. It is best to just get your food to go. It is relable and tasty at a very reasonable price. I evaluate Chinese restaurants based on their hot & sour soup. Eddie Cheng makes decent hot & sour soup. I deducted a star because they really dont provide table service and the surroundings are not lovely, but if you are hungry and want decent food at a reasonable price and you want it fast, Eddie Cheng is a good choice.
I frequently order for delivery. I usually order the chicken with cashews and several wonton soups - so good. The soups are good for reheating for later meals. Just the right seasoning. Delivery is always on time and the food is warm. I highly recommend Eddie Cheng.
This establishment is wonderful. Their food always arrives fast, fresh, and hot. And its tasty. They have the best General Tsos Chicken. The batter is crispy, the chicken is chunky and tender, and the sauce sticks to and covers the chicken pieces completely. However, be sure to try other items on their (extensivemenu as well. Or youll be missing out.
Ordered online - food was delivered. Another home run for Eddie.Sesame chicken, pork lo mein and egg foo young. A family feast.Prices very reasonable for the amount of food. Love the service.Waiting for the day we can go back in to eat. Until then we order at least once a week. Delivery always on time, food hot. Go Eddie.
Delicious food & good amount for reasonable price.*I can eat 2 dominos medium pizzas in one meal, and the food here fill me up.Sweet & Sour pork - under $10Egg drop soup - little over $2Cream puff (10- under $5
My beef mooshu smelled like it was in a fire before I opened the container. Upon opening and tasting I confirmed that it was indeed burnt, the kind of burn from scortching the pan and its contents. The pork fried rice was under done with more than the occasional crunchy grain of rice. These 2 items in my order were totally inedible and I received a refund on my Grub Hub order. The rest of the order was just ok, nothing really fantastic. Maybe it was due the taste of burnt mooshoo and crunchy rice in my mouth.I am more than disappointed.
The food is delicious and reasonable. I backed up to the door and they put the takeout on my trunk so It was contactless. I really appreciated that as not going in establishments right now.
I ordered chicken chow Mein and was not a fan of the flavor. It was bland and had stringy vegetables and overall just not what I had expected. After reading reviews, people were stating it is like what you get on the East Coast...maybe I just do not like that method of preparation. Otherwise, the food delivery was hot and the portions would have been what I had expected.
Very reasonable prices and great food. I had egg rolls and lo mein special, about $10 for the whole meal. It had a taste like Chinese food takeouts from the East Coast, that I hadnt been able to find in the Twin Cities area until now.
Finally a Chinese restaurant that comes close to CO and CA quality and flavor. Had lunch via take out, ordered egg rolls, wonton soup, chicken fried, chicken lo mein, and Mongolian beef. The egg rolls were crispy with a balance of filling. The wontons in the soup were huge but much better than those tiny ones you see in most places. The chicken fried rice was a hit with my kiddo with the exception of a bit heavy on the onion but she still had two helpings. The chicken lo mein was delicious other than my wife having to pick out mushrooms but half expected as it is 50/50 on places that include mushrooms in their lo mein. Both chicken dishes were white meat which is awesome. The Mongolian beef was like no other Ive had, good size beef pieces and a sauce that has a bit of spice. While not near my house this is definitely where well have to get our Chinese food from going forward.
You walk in and have the lunch options in front of you, which I loved. You can sample, which I also loved. The lunch special is so cheap and it is so much food. You can either get two options plus rice or noodles, or three options plus rice or noodles. Will be back if we are ever in the area again!
I ate the garlic sauce and scallops and fried rice with shrimp. It was all delicious and it was enough food for a second full meal. Go visit this place! I spent less than 16 bucks for the 2 meals 😳👍🏾
The lunch special is $5 and change and its enough food to feed a lumberjack. Service is quick and the food is fresh. If youre expecting anything better for the money from anywhere youre setting yourself up for disappointment in life.
I love Eddie Cheng Bloomington, MN. Their food is delicious because the sauces are not too sweet, and you can get them as spicy and garlicky as you want. They have a daily lunch special menu every day of the week and those prices are less expensive than a meal at a fast food drive through. We get carryout at least once a week. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, keto or paleo, you can get something to eat here.
By far this is the BEST place of its type in the area. The prices are fair, the portions are huge, and the food is always up quick and DELICIOUS!We moved 10 miles away and still make it a point to go there a couple times a month.
Eddie Cheng serves some of the best Chinese food in the area. Monday through Friday from 11 to 2 they set up a lunch Express line where you han get two or three items and rice for five bucks and change or 6 bucks and change. The food is always fresh and delicious and everyone who works here is super friendly. I pick up lunch from here at least twice a month.
Ordered two nights during our stay. Absolutely delicious food. The Sesame Chicken dish the best I have ever had anywhere. Egg rolls where hand made and crispy. Everything is fresh and piping hot, even delivered to the LaQuinta Hotel. Super fast Delivery! Will look forward to eating here anytime I am in Bloomington. Great prices as well. Huge portions.
Dropped in to get something in between classes, and the lunch special is pretty amazing. Online it says it ends at 3, actually ends at 2 but there was some left overs so he was nice enough to still give us a deal. :)Everything was delicious, and the portions were nice. Ive ordered online too, and even then everything was super flavorful and the pricing was right. :)
I looooovvveeeeee Eddie Cheng and Ive had different Chinese dishes from all different places here in the cities and I want to say that they are the BEST out of fast food delivery!! The food is always hot and packed to the brim, the food tastes clean and always has white meat. Very fresh!! If youre staying in this area I would definitely order from this location and now my boyfriend will only eat from here. 10/10 on prices and delivery time.
A standard cheap Chinese lunch place. The food was good (I had half sweet and sour chicken and half general Tso’s chicken), the service was quick and the staff was nice. Bathrooms were clean also. It seems efficiently laid out; there isn’t a huge selection of stuff but you go from arriving at the place to getting your food in less than 3 minutes. It got a lot of foot traffic in the 30 minutes my wife and I ate there. Lots of Asian people coming here, also (I’ve noticed the good Chinese restaurants are ones that you see Chinese people go to). If you’re in the mood for American-iced Chinese food, this is a good choice I think.
I work close by and order delivery, take out or dine-in at least once a week for lunch. This is the best quick serve Chinese food I have ever had. They always get the order right. When I order delivery there is no delivery charge and the delivery is quick. Plus, the portions are large and inexpensive. My staple is the Sweet & Sour Chicken. At most places the Sweet & Sour Chicken is hit or miss with each bite. Not at Eddies! 100% white, tender meat with every bite! Also, always get the pork fried rice. Add some complementary hot sauce and you are ready to tackle the rest of the work day. Love this place; highly recommend!
Cynthia took my order today and she was wonderful. Her customer service reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants. Pure grace and smiles and just good old plain courtesy. I was thinking the whole time she is so nice wow..... oh and the food is good also.
I went here the first time with my boyfriend and we ordered beef and broccoli. We dined-in and when I tasted the food it was SUPER SALTY. It was so gross all I could taste was salt. We took a few bites trying to over pass the saltyness but it just got more gross. So we asked them to see if we could get something else because it was too salty, they told us we could not get anything else of we would have to pay for it. They offered to wash the beef and broccoli in water and reheat it. I was like the fudge?! We talked to the manager and she offered to give us a small beef and broccoli with less sauce. This is my first and definitely Last visit here.
I have normally am not one to complain but the cashier at the restaurant was so rude that I was compelled to write a review. My wife order food and sent me with the cash to pay for it. When I got there she insisted I give her a coupon which is posted on their website for cream cheese wontons. She insisted I have the printed copy and them added the cost of the items without the coupon. I stated please leave them off. I had only brought enough cash for what they quoted us on the price. Any other restaurant would have honored this coupon regardless if I had printed it off. if nothing else off my phone screen. But to then be rude about it in attitude and words is inexcusable. There are to many Chinese restaurants in this area to provide such terrible service. I will not be returning ever.
I ordered from them this week and got the wrong order, I was asked to bring the food back (kind of a pain), then I was given the right order and I came home to find that the other part if my order was dry and not good as well as the egg rolls given to us. I was given a replacement exact dish for the bad meal so I call and asked for a slightly different plate and "the owner argued over the details instead of be customer focused. I dont complain to companies unless something is wrong and I believe in helping businesses with Q/A. I was not happy with the response of the owner when I went in to get my replacement meal I told the owner this is my last order and he didnt care. Good bye Eddie chengs! Hello golden wok
The food is good and the taste is alright. The rate is good. But the person at the cashier is just very disrespectful. Just simply put he is arrogant and i wont eat there any more. A stranger ...i think a student walked in a asked "Whats your suggestion on what to eat..The reply was..."everything is good and a blank arrogant face". The person walked away..SMILE MORE and be respectful...Ask the guest what he wants and pls do seat him..All these things look like an afterthought...Good Luck!
