Eddie Burger Bar in Banff

Had the Rocky Mountain Burger, Poutine, and an Original 16. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of burgers…and this one was memorable.One item for consideration: A squirt of BBQ sauce in a tiny cup was $1.50. I get that it is a ski town and #inflation but thought that was a bit much to pass along to customers on a $25 burger.That aside, great food and friendly staff— will definitely come back when I return to Banff.

Very good burgers, feel homemade. Fries are tasty as well. Really quick service!

The place looks small when you first enter but hidden in the back is more of an open space area with a few tables for more comfort. Most of our group ordered burgers and had nothing but compliments. Wings were also excellent. The onions rings were genuinely very good with real onions...not the typical shriveled up hard to find onions that we typically get. Great food, great atmosphere 👌

Great burger joint. Thick, traditional milkshakes (kids loved themand really tasty, well made burgers. Prices were comparable for Banff, the restaurants seem to have an understanding so no one is extreme in their pricing one way or the other.

Second time at this place and still good as before! Would recommend classic with sweet potato! The washroom could be maintained better though.

Arrived into town late from a day of sightseeing and was recommended to go to Eddies for food. It was approximately 9:50 p.m. when I arrived. I was greeted by the hostess and she advised us "the kitchen is closed." I then ask if there were any bar snacks and she re-advised "the kitchen is closed!" Anyways, the place had a good overall vibe minus her and would be great to check out under different circumstances. Cheers

Burgers were good. Any substitutions for any Elk and Bison meat for beef patties is $2.50 extra charge, which was not communicated by the server. We ask for hot sauce and at the end we were charged $1.50. Not that its really important and makes much of a difference, but we felt we should have been informed initially. Overall, food was good, but the ambiance was not that great. Expensive for dinner overall.

For the longest time we wanted to try this place, as it was always busy but this time we were able to find a table ahead of time and outside as we wanted. They were very accommodating as we came with a stroller and we sat outside. Service is top notch, no doubt, the burgers are delicious although overpriced (but that my be everywhere in Banff), the only thing that felt out of place were the fries, as they look, taste and feel like the ones you get at the grocery store. Overall I would recommend it and would definitely come back. May only feedback to them would be to make their own fries.

Busy place obviously!, its summer in Banff. But we got service fairly quick despite how busy it was. Delicious burger options, made fresh and from scratch, drinks 🍸 where also delicious and packed a punch. It was around $20 for a burger and side, but well worth it, decent sized portions and tasted great.

A great burger bar with outside seating to watch the world go by as you have lunch. For a Brit, having the bison burger was a bit adventurous. I can highly recommend. Good service and food was tasty.

Big juicy burgers, and great fries, although the service was really slow until we moved from outside to inside - and that was after a 30+ minute wait for a table that would be "about 15 minutes". (Friendly, but slow.)All of the burgers offer an option to switch to "impossible" meat we cannot recommend doing this on the elk burger, but the main "Eddie burger" was great. Decent set of local beers on tap. This nicely hit the spot for one evening, but we didnt go back.

Hard to get food in Banff when youre traveling alone. Tried to get some dinner here and the hostess mentioned they dont have any seating available for one person and I can be put on a waitlist for bar seating. I would understand this if there was a line, but plenty of empty tables outside. Discouraging as a tourist traveling solo.

This was our first real meal after 3 days camping in Banff. Because we were driving late back to Calgary, we opted out of trying a drink- although they looked delicious. We split a large order of poutine (definitely shareableand some wings (ordered honey garlic and it was mostly honey flavored). Both were satisfying after eating the same food for 3 days straight. Staff was friendly and service quick. Met our needs so I’d recommend!

We ordered the Eddie Classic Burger and Sriracha Wings which were both absolutely amazing! Literally the burger I have tired! I also treated myself their specialty trash can drinks in Peach which was also amazing! Great customer service!!

Really good food and really good atmosphere! They fill up pretty quick during tourist season so book in advance! I had a fried chicken burger and some poutine and couldnt recommend it enough. Staff were very helpful and friendly too.

This spot came recommended so we had to try it out. Service was great. Food was good. Not an exceptional burger but it was really good. Pricey (~$65 for lunch), so I took off a star, but loved trying poutine for the first time.

Good quality food overall but for the price it’s about or below average. This is a pricier burger spot, and the food is good but not everything is worth the price in my experience. The burgers themselves are fine, decently juicy and good portions. The fries are also just fine, but honestly McDonald’s fries are better for the price. The wings are also very pricey and you can find better at most wings spots around. With all that said, the food is still good, just not as good as the price suggests. I still recommend it if you’re looking to dine in at a non fast food restaurant in Banff.

Unique burgers with uncommon patties made from bison, elk, etc. with interesting combinations of flavours. Good service and great views of the village from the patio. Love the milkshake and cocktail selections too!

Heard about this place from a friend, totally lived up to the hype, the Bison burger was incredible, I also got a strawberry milkshake which was great. We ate at the bar and our server was friendly and funny, had a great chat with him. Definitely recommend for a good burger.

Bison burger was very good, the Eddie Classic..not so much which is ironic for a burger named after the place. We sat inside on the left and waited almost 15 minutes before someone took our order. We watched others get service within a few minutes. Probably wont come back here. Giving two stars for the bison burger. One and done!

Quality meat. The burgers are delicious. We waited 45 minutes and I was not disappointed. The meat was quality and the ingredients seemed fresh. They do take reservations

Good stuff here. The place has meats like bison and elk. Pretty good taste. The trashcan drink was pretty good too.

Unfortunately the restaurant was full and we were not able to be seated until 11pm. They no longer served items from the regular menu but had a late night menu. We ordered the single, double burger, and poutine after a long day of hiking. The burgers were delicious. The poutine was a large portion but we did not realize the gravy was a vegetarian gravy until after the order came. We found the gravy too salty but otherwise the burgers were delicious!!

This is not an Asian friendly restaurant, please avoid if you’re Asian and don’t want your mood ruin for the day! The food is ok, burger is similar to any other burger places. The Caesar salad was really good. I love the ambience and music they played. However, our server was extremely unfriendly and gave us attitude. We had a few of our popcorn while looking at the menu and she said we couldn’t have outside food. We totally got it and put it away right away. But she didn’t do the same thing to other table who also had outside food?! Then she didn’t say anything to us for the whole meal including when she gave us our foods and take our dishes; except for when she slamed our drink in the middle and said “to whoever ordered this”. She is more attentive to other table making me think this is racism or she is just mean? She really made us feel uncomfortable having our meal and totally ruined our mood for the day. I wouldn’t think in Banff - a popular tourist attraction, there are people like that. I’m a 20% tipper usually but today I gave 10% - for all the other people working that shift. #stopAsianhate

Had the real Hawaiian burger and tropical trashcan. The burger tasted great. The trashcan seems like a lot, but they put a lot of ice in there. Would come here again.

I had the Hawaiian( not sure thats the right name but I nicknamed it that cos it has pineapples)...its the best, most juicy burger Ive had yet.. Lordy Lord! Enjoyed my meal.

We had the chicken burger with jalapeño mayo, and the red/white/blue beef burger, both VERY good! After the fact figured adding hot sauce to the chicken burgerwould have been killer. Great friendly service. It is a small space though so some people had to wait, we sat at the bar for faster service. Mondays is double Caesars for $8, cant go wrong! Next time would be keen to try a milkshake and a cocktail with local spirits or a local beer as well! They currently have an outdoor patio for summer so a little bit more seating too. Overall highly recommend!

Was in town for work and wanted to try something new in the area. Even though they where quite busy they happened to get me a seat! Good atmosphere and nice people working there. Only thing that was kind of a let down was the salad but the juicy burger really made up for it

I hate to be this person and give this place 1 star, as historically The Eddie was my absolute favorite restaurant. So much so that I would even take trips from Calgary to Banff literally just to eat here. Over the years Ive introduced dozens of friends and relatives to this hidden treasure within Banff and have always enjoyed their positive reactions to the food and service.Yet the reason for my one star review is centered around the disheartening fact that every time I seem to visit, the menu only becomes more and more limited and each and every time something I once loved about the restaurant becomes history. The Eddie sliders, gone. The home cooked kettle chips, gone. The amazing build your own burger option, gone??? And not only did I have to find this out the hard way, but the news was presented to me very rudely by my server through means of passive aggressive statements; which only instensified when I inquired about the build-a-burger option and then asked if I could still modify items on the menu. This behavior and attitude had continued until I paid and left.Please keep your staff nice to your customers, and please stop changing the menu and removing staples of the restaurant. Between the horrendous service I received, and the amount of things Ive loved about the menu that have been removed, Im not only disinclined to continue bringing new customers but I am also disinclined to return myself. I realize your kitchen is the size of a mop closet, and that it can be difficult to have lots of options... But I fail to understand how you seemingly once had the capacity for these options and now no longer do.

First time experience. Gave a 3 star because the food was good! We ordered take out from a host/waitress who seemed like she did not want to be there. Our side was forgotten in our take out, went back to correct it. The new host/waitress was very nice and apologetic about it, and gave us a fresh side :)Finally came to eat and the extra toppings I paid for weren’t even in the burger 😂I’ll just order in next time 🤙🏻

Killer burgers and even better service. Elk was v good and wasnt too gamey. The traditional Eddie burg was good as well. Crinkle cut Fries are the best and v crispy! Came here on a Wednesday afternoon (2pmishand they had $6 all draught pints. Got a few for good measure

This is a great burger. Honestly. A great, juicy, big, meaty burger. We went with the Eddie Classic. Not complicated, just right. I would 100% go there again, the beer was cold. What more could you ask for? The sweet potato fries were super crispy and the regular fries not too shabby. 10/10 would recommend.

Seriously amazing burgers!! Got the Eddie Double Mac and it was delicious! Portion was great and the fries were really good! I was scared when I saw crinkle fries as I was scarred from my childhood but these were super tasty! Honestly a great burger and way better than its name sake.

A really great burger! The meat was excellent! Classic crinkle cut fries bring above average taste and old school nostalgia.Had the milkshake for desert. Best milkshake in a long time comparing many cities. Real fruit in the shake just made it above awesome.Our waiter Tyler was on point to our eating needs! Superb service

Tried the Elk meat burger as per our servers recommendation and it was so good! First time having elk and it was surprisingly very yummy. The place is small but very cute. Service is good. Definitely grab a bit to eat here if you’re in town.

Tried their burgers and a whole bunch of sides. The burger was decent, but the Eddie sauce in the burger is flavourful. Id recommend their deep fried pickles as well.

Cute little burger place in Banff. A bit expensive for a no frills restaurant but that’s expected given the location. Service was friendly and quick despite being packed. Food was good. Would go back !

Went in for a take away and was pleasantly surprised by the hostess as she brought sunshine to my evening. It’s so nice to be greeted and welcomed. Being vegetarian and Indian I ordered the spicy veg burger. The wait time was decent being a Friday night of about 15 minutes or so.The Burger was a bit disappointing as for $20 odd bucks it was very small and not one bit spicy. The fries were infact delicious. Eddie burger mentions about vegan options but when I asked if they could substitute the regular cheese for vegan, they couldn’t as they don’t keep it. Just wondering why they put up about vegan ? Still was hungry and the burger went down fast.In general food in Banff is expensive.

Delicious burgers! Dined in on a Friday night and was worried about the size of the restaurant but there were some additional tables just around the back corner. Ordered the Rocky Mountain and the Stampeder (elk and bison burger respectively). I had the Rocky Mountain which was elk with blueberry jam and was so wonderful. Great balance of sweet and savoury. Upgraded to sweet potato fries that came with chipotle mayo, super crisp and yummy. My friend got the onion rings upgrade and loved the dill sauce it came with. It always feels a bit steep when paying $20+ for a burger but I think it was worth it. It had such fresh ingredients and was very filling with generous patty and sides. I think also given this is in Banff this is probably one of our cheaper meals and it did not disappoint.

By far the BEST burger place in Banff!! We were served by Tyler, the nicest guy youll ever meet. The burgers were so incredibly fresh, and by far the best burgers Ive ever had. DEFINITELY worth the visit if youre in town!!!

Absolutely loved my meal here.I had the Eddie double mac with fries and my partner had the buttermilk fried chicken burger with poutine. Both of them were AWESOME.The music + the vibe here is great too.I would highly recommend their Sunsetter Peach Ale if you enjoy subtle peach flavours.The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The service too was quick.Would definitely be back when I visit Banff again.

One of the best Elk burgers I have ever had!! I am not a fan of McDonalds Big Mac, but the Big Mac at Eddies is amazing!! The wait staff was amazing, had an amazing experience from start to finish. We will be returning the first chance we get and we strongly recommend Eddies for anyone who loves a good burger!!

A tiny spot but has comfortable food and nice burgers. Limited menu, they could have more variety in the menu very easily and upscale their burgers a bit. Pricey being in downtown banff but overall a good meal and experience.

Burgers are Fantastic. We had the "Stampeder" ( Bison and "The Rocky Mountain" ( Elk burgers.The kids meals were a reasonable size but they charged extra for toppings.Fried and onion rings were also good.Space is small if you are going to stay so maybe a wait for tables.

Excellent little burger spot with patio seating. Best bison burger I’ve ever had (The Stampeder). Everything was quality. For an epic burger, come here.

The Rocky mountains burger aka Elk burger was my favourite. You can pair it with Three Bear pils. Delicious!

Would return.Great sized 5oz patties, crispy fries and absolutely amazing onion rings.Patties were meaty and filling, with a slight char for smokey goodness. Good sauce to bun ratio. Bacon was fried perfectly with crunchy and fatty streaks.I definitely recommend upgrading to the onion rings. The sauce it comes with is very yummy. Might want to ask for seconds.Decent tap, typical pricing for beer, good feed overall.

Amazing burgers! I had the spiced veggie which was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had! My husband tried the red, white and blue which he loved! The poutine was also delicious and vegetarian based. Staff are very nice!!

Burgers where amazing! Sweet potato fries where crispy and cooked just perfectly! Cold beers! Our server Dan and the team was very friendly and service was great! Overall excellent experience! Will definitely be recommending this place!
