Ecotrust - Non-profit organisation in Portland, United States
Great facility and very helpful event staff.
They support Saudi Arabia. No ethical person would patron Ecotrust.
I had my small wedding here in October of 2020. In the midst of all the regulations and setbacks, the staff at Ecotrust were so helpful, flexible and easy to work with. We used their rooftop for the ceremony and the Billy Frank Jr Room for the reception, both beautiful spaces. I especially loved the rooftop which has an urban, yet cozy and intimate feel. Highly recommend!
For starters, the venue was beautiful. All three options they had were amazing. I would give the venue itself a 5 star review if it were only about that, but it’s not.My cousins got married beginning of June in the Billy Frank center of Eco trust. I cannot express how unprofessional their staff are, from the venue coordinator to whatever their day off coordinator and/or staff members were.Nia Coleman was the one who toured the couple the first time they saw it, the second time they scheduled another walk through when they finalized it with their family & Nia was a no show & blamed it on her calendar messing up. She was unresponsive via text and by phone when the couple called to meet for the tour. Come to find out, she went home for the day & had the security guard give the tour, when he had no business doing so, as the questions the couple came in with were catered for the coordinator. As time went on, the couple tried to keep contact with Nia for multiple things I.e floor plans, rentals, layouts etc. The delays in response & the lack of communication from her only grew further an further apart. The couple attempted to contact her via email, text & by phone. Only until I then found the name of her manager & reached out to her directly due to the lack of response we were getting from Nia weeks before the wedding for planning purposes. We finally received an answer from Nias manager Shauna & that lit some fire & we finally received the communication we were wanting. At this point the couple AND I were already frustrated with her, but there was nothing to be done as the wedding was only weeks away. The day of the wedding, they had 2 other people there staffing the building during the wedding for questions regarding the venue and the rentals that were provided by them. One of the staff were super kind & helpful. The other, not so much- had it not been such a busy day, I would’ve taken the time to write down their names somewhere for me to remember, but being it was the wedding day, there were more important things to be thought of. First off, the doors were locked 30-40 minutes after the couples rental time. Vendors & family were not able to enter at the scheduled time & panic was instilled in everyone as we had such a small window to dress up the venue before guests began to arrive. One of the two staff member also had the audacity to be rude about everything that was being asked, like- the doors continuously being locked when guests were entering, the amount of the rentals that WERE NOT out on the layout as the couple had them & random questions regarding the venue itself.Overall, I give the venue for what it is a 5 star review, but working with the staff of Eco trust is a negative 5 if I could.
Fun and Simple place
The venue, Irving Street Studio, was absolutely stunning. Our venue host, Heather, and her team were a pleasure to work with. We had an amazing wedding day!
Brittanie has been amazing and super helpful during a very difficult time for our family & friends. Thank you for answering all my calls, all my questions and just making it a smooth and easy process! Appreciate YOU.
We hosted our wedding on the terrace last September. The space is absolutely spectacular. You get the natural beauty of the outdoors with an urban feel. There was more than enough space for our guests (approx. 130). We also loved that there was little we need to do to "decorate" since the deck is filled with planters on casters that can be rearranged in whatever way you choose. We ordered some sweet flower arrangements for the bistro tables, rented string lights, and nothing more was needed. Its important to note that, because there is only one elevator, you will need to give the caterer PLENTY of time to set up before the event.Onto the less than wonderful now...the "planner" assigned to us for our wedding was a bit of a disaster. She was new to the job, but even taking that into consideration, she was ill-suited for the position. We found ourselves managing her instead of the other way around. To be fair, she was well-meaning and was single-handedly trying to take on work that should have been done by three people - minimum. (How can one person fold, stack, and move 130 chairs from a ceremony down to the basement while simultaneously rearranging bistro tables and moving 100+ lb. umbrellas? She ended up enlisting some of our wedding guests and our caterers and photographers to assist. (Not their job.We did let the management know what a challenge it was to work with her and they assured us that they would be making changes, so I hope others will have a better experience. Its a magical venue and we would love to see it succeed!
The building itself is nice and thats the only thing commendable about it. The Pearl Health Center is in this building though and I have been getting the best care I have had in a very long time
We hosted our wedding at Ecotrust because so many of our values aligned with theirs. We were so pleased with the Irving Street Studio for such a beautiful and easy indoor venue. It is an added bonus that the industrial beauty of the building allowed us to feel confident in having minimal decor and therefore less waste! The accessibility was such a great factor to offer to our guests, the ability to host the ceremony in one room and an immediate appetizer hour in between our dinner reception made our day and our guests day such a breeze. The coordinators are professional and easy to work with. We had lots of communication back and forth all the way up until the last day. We appreciated the beautiful and open space to host our wedding so much and will always remember this space so fondly now that it has had such a big part in our lives.
Amazing !!!!! So well layed out for any event.
Lovely evening at an event on the rooftop. This is a special place.
If you are looking for a beautiful rooftop in Portland for your wedding, look no further. As a wedding photographer, I can be picky about aesthetics and flow of a space, and this rooftop is just dreamy. Stunning 180 degree views of historic NW Portland with the hills of Forest Park in the distance. There is a huge gorgeous fireplace as well as cafe lighting, which provides a soft glow for evening festivities. All around a wonderful option for a couple looking for a location for a modern downtown Portland wedding.
My Dr office is in the building, semi restoration, artsy floors, open visuals of pipes, coffee stand and a pizza parlor, elevator to upper levels. Lovely old brick building. Worth a view of your into that sort of thing.
I get my Csa here, always clean and the pizza ain’t bad either.
This is an amazing venue to have a wedding or other events at.
This was my first time at an EcoTrust hosted event, but my company had a dinner party with them, and it was a great experience! Despite the crowded venue, there were plenty of bathrooms for the many patrons. The food they catered was delicious, and overall, I had a great time!
Great of them to support nonprofit organizations with such a nice venue
I actually go to this building for the Pearl health center.. The staff is amazing, friendly and never make you feel that your questions are burden to them. Always willing to help you. Never long waits .. the Doctors and councilors are always on time..when they say the doctor will be in , in just a min. They mean just a min not 15-20 mins later. The place is clean & relaxing.. drive well out of my way , cause its hard to find a place that has exceptional staff, clean always on time, I can see my primary care physician and my therapist in the same place, same day, they have free parking and take OHP .
This is one of my favorite buildings in Portland. Theres multiple places to eat inside, and the architecture is stunning. Worth a visit.
Someone that knows all that transpires in this building should explain it. It does have food, coffee, and character.
We were there for a co-op membership meeting, seemed like a pleasant place.
Great open modern venue for activism meetings. Wish there was more free parking downtown. Centrally located. Nice place to meet then go out.
This place is absolutely amazing!! Ive only been here the 1 time but I felt right at home!!!! Beautiful surroundings, very caring, thoughtful, attentive, well-trained/knowledgeable staff!!!! !!!! I cant wait to go to another fundraiser or what have you again in the future!!!!
Dont set a wine tasting up with the sun facing you. Hot hot hot cool spot
Friends had there wedding here such a great location
Wow. This place is beautiful. Great venue for a conference.
I’ve been here 2 times. This a great space for events. Just next door to a couple restaurants. 💯
Daughter had her prom here and really loved it
Trustworthy organization working towards underappreciated goals. Highly skilled team that cares about our community.
Attended a Gala Fundraiser for Profile Theater on Friday evening (as a volunteer & a guestin the newly opened Irving Street event space. The space is amazing and I throughly enjoyed myself (even though I was volunteering my time & energyand I highly recommend this location for any nonprofit (or any organization for that matter). The room is great and there was plenty of room for our catering staff and our 140+ guests. Located on the NS Street Car line, there is also plenty of street parking. Ecotrust is a great company to work with!
Beautiful building with Hot Lips Pizza and Laughing Planet in the bottom. Whats not to like?
Great place for an event and the staff made sure we were taken care of. The balcony has a nice view and great for a big event.
Nice place to stop for lunch. Choices include laughing planet for healthy eclectic bowls and burritos. Generous servings of fresh healthy selections. Also Hot Lips Pizza for delicious slice or full size pizza, bread sticks and salads. Nice communal seating area!
We have our choir performance there every year and I loved it and the audience loved it to
Wonderful venue for events. I personally believe the mission statement of the place is wonderful, and that they truly uphold it. (Photo from We The Dreamers: An Art Show to Support DACA)
I cant say enough about the good and important work Ecotrust does. They have earned and deserve everyones support.
I went to the rooftop for a beer garden event and it was a beautiful view!
Roof top was a beautiful venue and about the right size for our event of just over 100 people. Long and skinny space, but that really encouraged many small group conversations. Perfect for our 20 year reunion.
fairly comfortable and modern, responsible with waste and recycling, great spaces offered.
We planned our wedding at Ecotrust, and everything was wonderful! Lauren and the rest of the staff did an awesome job and were super flexible with last minute changes. We would highly recommend them to our friends and family looking to host an event here!
We had a good party there for KNOW YOUR CITY 1st annual gala fundraiser
Went here for a wedding reception. Awesome venue. Nice modern but classic look. Kind of interesting. Highly recommended.
A great building, if you have an interest in architecture and/or saving the planet this is a great spot to visit!
Most people dont realize there is a significant amount of no charge meeting space you can just pop in to at Ecotrust, including the fabulous roof.
The venue was a great place to hold an alumni get together for our college. I imagine no matter the occasion, it is a great venue. For people not familiar with the area, it can be confusing and does require street parking.
Awesome building. The nonprofit has done a great job of perusing there mission by embedding themselves in the heart of Portland. The building not only creates wonderful office space, but provides Portland with view of a company that lives and operates in a sustainable way.
Beautifully restored warehouse. Great place to hold an event - friendly staff, well equipped and convenient location.
Neat building, nice architecture, great use of vintage/original building materials. A couple of caveats. The staircases are monotone grey and potentially hazardous since the stairs visually "blend" together. Second, the urinals are "waterless" to be eco friendly and thus smell similar (to be fair, a little less soto a pit latrine. 2 very good restaurants anchor the place. Plentiful seating indoors & out, and free parking in the convenient lot if youre a customer.
I like that I can go here for lunch and get a burrito from Laughing Planet and some wine from Hotlips. Ive been to a view banquet events here and its pretty nice. The building restricts the use of plastic cups, so I had to go find some compostable ones, and it was sort of frustrating because when I got there this restriction was definitely not being enforced.
