Econo Lodge On Historic Route 66 in Barstow

To start the door to our room wouldnt lock, no hot water, the fridge didnt get cold, the blanket on the bed was paper thin, crack heads yelling an screaming all night, and people slamming doors all night, dope heads reving there junky motorcycle throughout the night, me my wife an my 4 month old baby where woke up several times and the staff wouldnt do anything about any of it i asked for my money back an they denied me my refund. Worst experience we have ever had at any hotel i would leave 0 stars if i could!!!

Our family stayed here while on a road trip with our three kids. Its dingy and dated but it was ok for one night. There are a lot of permanent residents here so if youre bothered by that you should stay somewhere else. It was definitely noisier than we would have liked and people smoke right outside the room doors so it stinks. Also, when we first arrived we were given a room on the second floor next to a room with a non-stop barking dog. Upon request they moved us down a few doors but instead of acknowledging the dog in the room the woman at the front desk lied to us and said a person in that room was watching a 24 hour dog documentary. Its a pet friendly motel so the dog wasnt the problem, just the constant barking. But the dishonesty was what bothered us the most. We used the pool along with others who clearly werent staying there (friends of the motel employees brought kids there to swim but they were nice kids, well-behavedand used the washer and dryer (by the poolto do laundry. While I was outside at night waiting for our laundry to dry the maintenance guy rudely told me the pool area was closed and I had to leave. There was nowhere else to wait except by the pool. The ice machine was broken and the "breakfast" was fruit loops. Staff are unprofessional and care more about serving the permanent residents than other guests.

Had a good stay in a hot Saturday night in June. This hotel is older but they’re doing a good job keeping it up. The pool area was super popular. The guests are diverse. Parking was easy. Walls are a little thin. It’s a classic cheap hotel experience. If you want somewhere silent and spotless, this isn’t the motel for you.
