Econo Lodge in Bay City

Their pay system is messed up. Charging me for multiple nights 2 separate transactions pending when I only stayed 1 night. 1 for $164 and the other for $214 which then put my account in debt. Hot Tub room TV didnt work in room 240, the ceiling needs to be cleaned and/or repainted, AC/Heater filters need to be cleaned, building POORLY painted and plastic still left on windows and doors. Breakfast wasnt to great. 2 cereal choices, Waffles, oatmeal, and typical bagels. Service desk couldnt help me with the money issue even though its on their end. I dont have pictures, but I definitely wont stay here again or recommend to others. Bathroom downstairs near ice machine doesnt have soap dispensers either. Public BAR soap. Smelt and looked horrible as well.

The hotel is going through renovation so we didnt really mind the outside. We first got to our room and saw our door open. We found we couldnt close/lock our door from the outside without our key.The room was spacious and clean. We really liked the patio. The bed was comfortable. We did find a dirt stained wash cloth and bedsheets. The front desk was very kind and efficient. It was a place to sleep. Nothing great.

We arrived and the outside looked like a disaster especially driving towards the back to where our room was. I do have to say the front desk woman was very very nice. We decide to check out the room and surprisingly the floors were all brand new, the tub with its own room was exciting. Went to go on the balcony and there was blood splattered on the curtains. Caked up bugs for days on the windows .. got spooked , asked for another room and the next room had blood splatter in the sheets !!!! We got our money back and LEFT! It was very sketchy with terribly sketchy vibes. Definitely dissapointed and freaked out. Very eerie seemed this was nothing new…

Very nice beds, Aestheticly please decor and decent breakfast options. Lack of storage (shelves in bathroomsno hair drier and weird dribble spots randomly around room make me give it 4 stars. But definitely worth the price.

Love this place! Good prices, great rooms, and awesome staff! Laura, at the front desk is always very helpful with anything i need! The building looks old from the outisde but all the rooms are updated and look very nice!

We checked in here for one night for our anniversary trip. The outside of the hotel is terrifying. It looks like the stereotypical sleazy motel in every crime movie. Disrepair, the balconies are littered with hundreds of dead bugs, etc. The rooms themselves are a lot nicer. We got the deluxe King suite and were greeted to a room with tall ceilings, a nice King size bed, a jacuzzi room (with armchairs and a television), and a few other perks like a mini fridge and a microwave, The rooms were clean, and although the bathroom was pretty tiny, the shower had good water pressure and everything worked. The jacuzzi was nice, although it is pretty slippery so youll probably want to bring a bath mat. The bed was pretty comfortable-- though it was pretty firm. Downsides to the room include: not having robes or a hairdryer (which were supposed to be included), some extremely nasty curtains COVERED in stains and holes, a gross mattress pad (sweat stains), and a nasty balcony (lots of bugs and dirt, in disrepair). Overall, if were staying on a budget for only a day or two, we will probably come back, but in the chance we stay longer or have a bit more spending money, we will likely go elsewhere.

We loved the beds and the a/c. The rest didnt work so good. No cable tv until we arrived back from our venue around midnight and the remote didnt even go with the TVs so manual only, patio door would lock u out, fridge didnt get cold. We were comped some of our $$ back but I wont stay again.

Outside of the hotel could definitely use some attention. We pulled up and thought no way were staying here. But the Hotel room was nice, Jacuzzi tub actually worked. How ever our mini fridge didnt work. We told the front desk this around 4pm on a Fri. We didnt return to the hotel room until after 12am Saturday morning. Before we left they said theyd get another fridge into the room. That never happened, didnt offer a reason nor comp anything off the room. If you need the few amenities they offer in room, Id definitely check out another option

We arrived to check in at 7pm today. the staff member that checked us in was very kind in telling us they did not have a clean room for us yet. that was okay and we left for about an hour. we came back and were met with dirty toe prints in the bathroom tub and what seemed to be dirty/ stained sheets. the counter tops were not clean and had sticky residue on them. there was also an empty rockstar can that looked to be used for cigarette butts sitting in the ground of the balcony. we went to get a refund and we’re told they would not be giving us one. They told us they were very short staffed which i’m sure everyone can understand nowadays but the quality of the room was not worth the two nights we booked and will not be using.

If there was a -5 option that is where I would place this. I read the reviews thought it would be perfect cause it is close to the svsu campus!! Boy was I wrong! I went back to the door closet to my room upon check in. The trash can has 4 huge garbage bags around it. The rooms on each side of our sliding glass door that were mounded half way up the door with peoples belongings. And when I ask management when I checked out he said the just werent the cleanest people. Now I find my card has been illegally charged twice. Upon the first phone call I was hung up onAnd the second call I was told no manager was availableSo now I am waiting for police to file a report. I went to choice privileges before I called the police. They cant even see the second charge.

Very dated building. You can dress a pig in a tuxedo, but its still a pig. That sums this place up. They have updated some of the interior, but it is still an old building. Cleanliness is also an issue. They do have an excellent yard that of you take your pets, they can go and do their thing.

Do not be fooled bye the looks, this place may look rough an old on the outside. But the the room are well updated almost everything seemed new, and nice and spacious. Also very clean and had a balcony that was extremely convenient. Beds even felt new and extremely soft sheets. Was very skeptical to go for this cheaper hotel but do not regret it one bit walking distance to food and its right off the highway. Will definitely be staying here again next time I stop in extremely surprised. Also very nice staff.
