On a palm-fringed Indian Ocean beach, this quirky ecolodge, built from local materials, is less than a kilometre from the Sainte Marie airstrip.The colourful, wood-panelled rooms have mosquito nets (no air-conditioning), plus shared bathrooms with solar-heated water, and a communal living room and terrace. Beachfront cabins with thatched roofs add fans, private bathrooms, patios and 4-poster beds; some are bi-level. There's also a treehouse with an ocean-view balcony.A breakfast buffet and lunch or dinner are included, and served in the airy restaurant. Private beachfront dining is available, and there's a bar. Massages are also offered.
