Echuca Wharf - Historical landmark in Echuca, Australia
This area has been recently rejuvenated with the addition of a new visitor information and experience center. There are many shops and walks and great coffee! I thoroughly recommend this area. Allow a couple of hours if you can
Murray River very full at the moment, control flooding of certain areas, great asset for Echuca / Moama great for the paddle steamers and other house 🏠 boats etc including southern 80,come &enjoy.
This place is very well done, so many things to see and do. Free entry to the discovery centre and wharf is fantastic. Wish we had more time to stay and do the night tour, recommend booking tickets well in advance for the tours to avoid disappointment.
Picturesque place - absolutely stunning
You can take the kid away from the country but you cant take country away from the kid. Love the whole wharf, museum , paddle steamers, such a gone era , thank you to a few , some paddle steamers are still here today . I have worked on Pyap in Swan Hill , no longer steam but still , love of the boats .
Such a stunning spot teeming with history, stunning riverside scenery and free to wander about.
Wonderful paddle steamer journey down the Murray River. Plenty of shops for browsing around.Stopped in at Henrys for lunch.
We walked down underneath the huge historic Warf and looked at the amazing structure and it is beautiful really. The museum is very cool to look at and nice and interactive. Its free to walk through and dogs are welcome, in the shop, museum and on the paddle boats. There is horse and cart rides outside on the dirt rd and lots to look at.Its a great day out.
Such an pretty place to visit and view the Murray. Loved the history lesson and the interactive board walk.
Great place to visit, free entry is an absolute bonus.
Great relaxing 2hour paddle boat cruise well worth the visit , very friendly locals.
Entry to the underground of the wharf is via Discovery Centre. Entry is freem Definitely should visit the underground for great photos.
Twenty years ago this was a wonderful period piece, but sadly the shire has modernised it to the point its no longer really heritage. The wharfside restaurant is no longer, the shire demolished it.Barely anything in the historic precinct is historic anymore... modernisation with a hint of the old days. The nearby pubs are all modern and some "interesting" 21st century designs are springing up in a once heritage listed area.if you go.. spend a couple of days, but go on the paddlesteamers.. they are wonderful.Echuca is home to the worlds largest paddlesteamer fleet. The Port owns many, and there are a lot in private hands. The boats to ride on are The Pevensey and The Alexander Arbuthnot, as these were built from the keel up in the paddlesteamer heyday. Many others were barges, rebuilt 30 years ago into a paddlesteamer, but they too have an amazing history.Book well ahead for accommodation... or stay nearby in Moama, Kyabram or Shepparton.
It has a good view to look and the environment there is well maintained
Very Interesting place
Really great atmosphere. Free picnic bikes at the discovery centre and carriage rides (for a fewfrom the warf. Lots of restaurants and cafes around.
Beautiful place to visit and experience the 19th century river trade.
Has changed to a boarded up money grabbing venue. Fences everywhereEven part of the steam area was boarded up with steel sheeting so you could not view the engine without paying, so not going there again.
Great place for family especially if you own a cabin, otherwise you have to share kitchen and toilet, but all good and clean. 2 swimming pools (indoor and outdoorwith mini water park and big jumping trampoline...
Great little adventure on the Murray RiverAmazing sights and lots of pubs cafes and restaurants to have a bite and drinks
Echuce wharf has been renovated to the 1800s
Absolutely fantastic location! Definitely one of the best places to see in Victoria. Great for photographer and videography, with lots to see and places to explore. The town is beautiful and the whole of Echuca wharf is very unique! Would highly recommend a visit to the wharf when in Echuca.Dogs are welcome in many of the nearby areas too which is great!
Kids loved it, lots to do and see. Beautiful town and location
Great place and plenty of wheelchair access which is essential for my wife
Great place to spend time with the family
A great historical record in a low key easy to enjoy format. Steam locomotives, old machinery and paddle steamers perfect for all boys (and girlsof all ages.
Nice place to visit ,good history and some nice places to eat or have a drink
Looks like it will be fantastic once the renovations are completed.
Loved it! Had the scones, jam and cream on the paddlesteamer. Super relaxing and the kids loved it, too.
A great place to stroll around take in the atmosphere and scenery have a meal or a coffee or take a trip on a paddle steamer and experience a bit of Aussie history.
A good place to visit, rich in history to interest the young and old. A perfect venue too for the annual Winter Blues Festival!
Authentic and interesting, we unwound at a local coffeeshop; while chatting with locals and enjoying some blues music
Great place to walk around or just sit and watch the paddle steamers come and go.
Not as good as it use to be, shops can not offered council rent, first Oscar Ws closed down because council wanted too much rent then Wisteria cafe close down because council wanted too much rent Campaspe council destroying Echuca with their greed, woodsmith had to close because the council rather have shops closed then visitors having connection with the past.
Wonderful history along the Murray river.
Good river cruises, nice place to stay, there is a free river cruise that all they ask you to do is make a purchase for morning T lunch or afternoon T to help cover costs, well worth it.
This is an interesting place. A museum that explains the purpose of the wharf and town. The displays show what was used. The cute little shops that surround the wharf are a compliment, with the paddlesteamers you can take a leisurely hour to enjoy the river on a cruise. Their are plenty of pubs and cute eaterys around the wharf area...enjoyable morning or afternoon activity.l highly recommend....🌝
Very well done a great little hub, lovely restaurants and pubs.take a river cruise on a paddle steamer.
Fabulous experience of life in the 1800 where my grandfather was . The wharf, paddle steamer ride and discovery centre are excellent
Nice calm place, with plenty of options to eat. A must visit
Well worth a visit. Great history. Beautiful place with lots of history and wildlife.
Rather uneventful most of the time, perfect for a night time stroll or a veiwing of the easter fireworks and ferry parade. Very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful scenery, Im glad I can experience this beautiful area every year. River boats and ferrys are a delight to witness and are very relaxing to ride on throughout the river. Lovely area.
Great afternoon exploring the shops along the warf front followed by a paddlesteamer ride along the river
Great restoration of the old port, and trip on the Murray in an old paddle steamer. Very informative commentary.
Fantastic location! As a photographer, I am always on the look out for new spots! I am so glad I had the opportunity to capture a wedding here last year. It was a perfect place for wedding photographs.Photos by Nikko Blue Photography
Nice tourist strip but unless you take one of the great paddleboat rides the icecream shop is the main attraction when its 40 plus degrees!
Beautiful, scenic and its your jumping off point for a paddle wheel cruise of the Murray River.
Must See Place when in Echuca. Take some time to not only walk around the warf area but look around the many shops theres lots of different shops with different things you can buy .very good selection of cafes and restaurants which offer a variety of meals to choose from.Make sure you call into the Lolly shop .you wont be disappointed
Great place to take the family and take in the history or to simply take a stroll. The port, the paddle steamers and the shops make this place an easy day trip.
Great place to visit after recent efforts to update the area. Great to take a Paddle Steamer from or wander amongst the buildings learning how things of yesteryear were done.
