Echo Caves - Tourist attraction in Tzaneen, South Africa
It was nice, but not worth the stop as compared to the other places that the Graskop area has to offer
Exciting, hiking inside the cave experience. Learning curve.
A very good place to visit
Great look back in history..enjoyed coffee on the terrace afterwards.
I have definitely seen some caves before, but this cave blew my mind. I really did not expect such a huge cave there. It is approximately 1km long and will take you 50 min to complete. Our guide was well informed and also showed us some bigger side caves.100% advisable to visit.
Its scary and has a bit of adventure in it. Its a pity my daughter cried cause she was scared. Great for taking memorable pictures
Loved it. Perfect place to visit on a weekend. The place is very calm.
A great experience. The tour guide was very friendly and explained everything in detail. We enjoyed a lot
Just loved it .Amazing experience, kids were super in to it (.10yo and 5yo ).Guide was knowledgeable and very interesting tour .
It was very educational, entertaining and I would like to come again for more
A lovely place to visit. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, as well as patient and humourous. So much to see and learn. I highly recommend!
3rd time visiting the caves and still amazing! Can highly recommend the tour, so many interesting facts and natural wonders! We stayed in the Marlothi self catering unit - beautiful and comfortable accommodation.
An amazing cave system if you are seeking casual adventure. Guides are extremely friendly and have a great knowledge of the caves. Beautiful and majestic features and a truly enjoyable experience.
What a nice experience.Garden is very well kept and all nice old items takes you back in time. The cave tour is well planned and the tour guide was very well prepared and the information was very entertaining and presented for everyone to understand. Very interesting stories about the cave and area around the area. Tour are given through out the day and worth the cost. Tour takes about an hour. If I can recommend take a flashlight with. There is lights inside but with a good flashlight you can see so much more.Restaurant outside caters for some quick meals.Staff is very friendly and helpful.I can highly recommend Echo Caves.
Historical place the guide his is excellent
The cave tour was great ,The horseshoe bats are in the cave here and there unless you do the crystal chamber which was unfortunately not open on the 9th june as they are cleaning the bat droppings (they are toxic to humans )You can see the natural beauty of the cave most way through (the entrence is built closed which is a shame in my opinion)the guide was professional, friendly and very informativeThey were extremely short staffed as we waited 30 +min for the guide to finish with a bus of primary school children as he was the only guide there and one lady was there to run the restaurant, cave entrance and the kiosk .The restaurant and kiosk was closed as a result of the lack off staff available.
Much better cave experience. We literally walked on our hands and feet in some places to get through. The bats was amazing to see. After the heavy rains yesterday, the cave was dripping with water everywhere and it was amazing.
Nice tour, definitely worth the slight detour. Personally, the cave shape and flow is more interesting than the Sudwala caves, although the comparative dryness removed some spectacle. The scenery in the area is tré spectacular! The curio shop is much more bare-bones, but the restaurant looked nice (we did not order). Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly.
There is soo much to learn about the history of Pedi people who were once the occupants of the Caves in the early era. It was such an experience with a tour guider explaining different formation of rocks, very educational indeed
It was beautiful, most cars got stuck in their when we were leaving. Thanks to the management who brought a tractor to come help. Big up
R80 entrance fee. Very interesting caves, a lot of steps and a few low-ceiling crawling tunnels. Guide had very good knowledge and was very entertaining!
The place was very interesting. Our tour guide, Michael, was excellent. The value for money is good. The tour we went on lasted about two hours and was truly eye opening.I would highly recommend
This womans are from Elim. Vha fumakadzi vhavho, van Tonder, kuke moer, lol
Excellent, groups just to big. A must go see.
An unexpected great place to visit. The history and the nature of the caves were interesting and fascinating. The guide were informative, enthusiastic and friendly. You just couldnt imagine what happened there without their instruction. Its close to the famous Three Rondavels, which makes it good as a spot in one trip. There is a restaurant tho we didnt try it.
Echo caves is fantastic. Over a kilometer of underground walking and the guide gives you alot of information regarding the past of these caves. Never experienced being underground for so long its amazing. The staff and guide were awesome and had humor to his lessons. The staff were great and would suggest you give it a try.
absolutely beautiful!! Staff is very friendly. Will definitely go again
Everything was good and the caves was well presented by the person that was presenting them and its chambers.
I took my kids there, very educational and exciting. They strictly comply with Covid-19 regulations. However you need to be ready to move in the cave.
What a beautiful wonder Echo Caves is. Nature truly is something else. We learned a lot on the day, this is a great place to go as a family or as a group of friends. Entrance for 1 person is R80 and you get a guided tour around. I can say a mouthful about Echo Caves, it was quite an experience. You wont regret it.
What an amazing experience. Unfortunately the crystal palace was closed due to bats, I wouldve loved to go there😩
Great hosts, Awesome place and very interesting attraction, the caves are a must see if you are in this area. Marloti room very luxurious and comfortable, I can highly recommend
This is the place to go if you are looking for an adventure and want to learn about bapedi history 😉I really enjoyed the tour especially that part when they made echoing sound with the white stone ....the bestI cant wait to visit the place again 😍 ☺
I enjoyed the experience. It was fun, educational and interesting. It is not advisable to bring very young kids and pensioners. Some of the passages are too low to pass and the stairs when you get out are too many.
Very informative. Enjoyed the trip through the caves. Some tight squeezes, but all in all a great experience
Very interesting and nice in scenery set cave walk. Definitely worth a visit.
Great tour!Has a restaurant and overnight facilities, haven’t tried it. Only did the tour.Must be noted on the tour you will have to crouch on the short route and on the long route you crouch even lower and more.Tour guide is very informative, he has great knowledge about caves and the history of the land/area. Seen some bats, he made good music inside. Well worth the tour!
Pretty garden at the entrance. Has facilities to stay at over night. Generally clean and service was good at paying for the entrance fee to go through the tour. Tour guide was informative and good sense of humor.
The tour guide (Evansknows his story and makes it very fun. Place is well looked after and its nice and cool down there.
Lovely experience walking the cave. The guides are very informative and knowledgeable about the history of the caves
We were the only ones there so it was great to explore by ourselves. The guide was fantastic and explained everything with great detail. The road to get here is a little rough but any SUV or Bakkie will have no trouble getting here. Please go and support them as its been done up wonderfuly
Amazing tour with an amazing guide. Really beautiful and worth the visit. You literally climb and walk through this natural gem. Dont miss out on this adventure.
Awesome caves.very nteresting and well maintained. We had a well informed and friendly guide, hes open and answered every questions we asked, nothing he couldnt answer.he knows the history so well and can guide very good as well...coming here was an amazing experience, we enjoyed and learnt a lot ,it was really interesting..
I loved the history lesson I got here, it was amazing to hear about how smart the Bapedi people were and how they stayed here as their place of safety. I tried the sacred water as well and it tasted like mineral water. The stairs at the entrance and exit will leave u breathless but it was all worth it!! Definitely not wheelchair friendly.
We had a very amazing guide, Phillip, he was so well informed and taught us so much history we didnt know... He took our time and made sure we want to come back next time for the longer tour
Had the best tour guide, started at the Madonna caves exiting at the Echo Caves which have 3 chambers( Elephant Chamber, Ostrich Chamber and Samson’s Chamberthe tour guide advised that there’s a 4th Chamber that’ll be opened which will need oxygen tanks and crawling.
Loved this place. Our guide was knowledgeable and fascinating. The Tea room quaint and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. All in all well worth the visit. Definitely recommended.Worth noting we started in the undeveloped section which was far more interesting than the shorter developed "tourist" section.
Did a tour with Phillip who was a great guide. He shared nice information about the Ba Pedi tribe who inhabited the caves and from which he stems. The Caves are also accessible and the tour does not take too long so it makes for a nice stop if youre on your way past.
Great cave experience with a guided tour. Lots of low areas where a to person had to bend down quite a bit. Well with the R60/adult & R30/kids cost.
Great caves with a great tour! The guide was very good and knew a lot about the caves and some funny stories. Worth a visit and on top its cool inside ;)
