This casual hotel is 5.7 km from University College and 6.6 km from Cork Airport. The 10 simply furnished rooms have balconies, Internet access and TVs.Continental and full Irish breakfast is complimentary. A lively bar with a terrace and a deck offers live music on Friday nights. The restaurant features an international menu, including Tex-Mex and Thai choices.
It’s dark, there’s no room, there’s no music. Go somewhere else.
This restaurant superseded our expectations. The food had fabulous, unique flavors and the service was exceptional.
Strong drinks, good ambiance and prices.
Good food for 3 AM. Wish the burger had at least a small amount of fries for 14$
10/10 food11/10 drinksIncredible service and stunning ambiance.Love it.
Great date spot during the week. Can get busy at weekend. Great pints and fried chicken
Great place day or night to grab a drink with friends. Highly recommend the fried cheese curds and pickle martinis!
Delicious food and great atmosphere!
Been here twice and the food is so well made. Ambiance is fire and the serving size is bigggg. Recommend the fried rice and pad Kee mao, a lil sweet for the latter but rly good if ur down for that
Favorite Thai spot in UES! Food and drinks are so yummy! The service is super quick and everyone is very nice. Definitely recommend :)
Really nice food! And great service!
First time visiting this bar. Was treated like a regular. Fantastic Guinness pour. Erin was amazing. Ask for the banana bread shot, it’s worth it!
We were looking forward to the experience since the bouncer was very pleasant outside. The place did not have the best climate controlled space. It was only relying on fans on a very humid day. Offered typical bar food that was limited. Not a place that I would choose again in the future.
Gem and a half - amazing service and amazing food. Wait time was 3 minutes, great outdoor dining experience, and loved the Khao Mun Gai I ordered, especially the sauces. Definitely a recommend.
Solid bar in EV. Went for a Thursday night drink with some friends
Nice atmosphere, service and great location, but lacking in summer appropriate aperitifs and quality beer options. Would definitely come again
Great service! Fish tacos so good!
Finished off a phenomenal night at this great location. The weather was good, so the giant windows were up and it felt like we were sitting outside. Asked for the best drink the bar tender could make and had a delightful espresso martini.
Really nice, good sound. Solid bar, enjoyed our stay.
Thank you to Peters, the manager tonight. He was professional and cordial. Keep him as long as you can.
Bua burger was meh. Burgers like smashburger, shake shack, fiveguys can be considered better. And for the size of the burger frys should be included. Drinks were good and tasty. The outside sitting area is nice.
Good drinks, great staff, the cheese curds are a must.
It was a good Sunday funday with friends here a few weeks ago... we only intended to be here for an hour or two but ended up staying for 5 hours in good company. I also think Ive found my favorite martini here... Dirty Pickle Martini!
Update:Don’t be fooled, I have still received no response to my emails (plus two further emailsdespite the businesses response to my review.Went here for a couple of drinks one afternoon on our trip after exploring the east village, nice setting a good range of drinks in the happy hour deal and the bartender seemed nice.Except when it came to pay we wrote down the 20% option for the tip ($6.80however the bartended charged my card an extra $20. Not impressed as our drinks only came to $37 that’s nearly a 50% tip!! So BEWARE only leave cash tips.Have tried to contact the bar to rectify this and had no luck.
Always a great time and place to go with a couple friends!Great fresh and easy going place for drinks and they definitely have some good food getting pumped out of their kitchen!Dont sleep on the grilled cheese and dont forget to add bacon! When the weather is better they have fun outdoor seating as well.
Worst bar tender ever. I was there just for a drink while waiting for a reservation but the bartenders were pretty occupied talking with other people. When they finally decided to get me a drink they had the worst attitude. Left the bar and went to the wild son.
Nice cocktails, very rude bouncer. He literally kicked me out for no reason — had vaccination proof, wasn’t drunk. I understand these guys are doing their job, but sometimes if feels like a power flex. Def not coming back, that was a weird, uncomfortable experience.
Not what I expected. I orginally came here because I needed to use the bathroom and I hoped I would be able to stay and enjoy myself. I definitely did stay. The staff is kind and saw to it that my niece and myself were situated to get home. (Not intoxicated but uber prices were unusually high and our phone died). The service here was ppl lovely and I look forward to my next visit with them!
Came here for happy hour drinks. The service was great, they were able to seat us immediately and the drinks were delicious. I got the agave Fresca which I enjoyed but my friend got the mocha joe which I thought was especially delicious. If you love a sweet iced coffee, that’s the drink for you!
Went there for early food and drinks with friend. The place is nice and the music wasnt too loud. The food was good, we had the chicken strips and fried cheese curds. The service was very slow. They had only one bartender on and he was making drinks for the bar and for the dining tables. While I do think the bartender was trying his best he wasnt the fastest mixer. I hope they start adjusting to the people coming back and add more staff on busy shift times.
Stopped by to seek refuge from a rain storm and found this cozy place. Great drinks with interesting combinations. Friendly staff and great ambiance for an evening night cap. St. Mark’s neighborhood has a lot of good options but this should definitely be on the list.
I only had appetizers, which were tasty! Exactly as IG describes. Limited cocktail and wine menu, but you can BYOB!!
Only had drinks and apps here but I would 100% go back. Probably one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had, and their fried cheese curds were so good. The wait staff is super friendly and accommodating and the tables outside are nicely separated with very good heater set up (would still bring a light jacket though for extra cold days).
I appreciated the cocktail options they had for happy hour—the gin and tonic with lavender was really good! It’s a clean non-divey bar with good food and a cozy atmosphere. They had table service after a certain hour and until then, you order everything at the bar.
Cocktails were great. Service was friendly. Its a beautiful space. Our grilled cheese sandwich was a bit undercooked so the cheese hadnt fully melted which is the best part of a grilled cheese. We didnt get our order of sliders though werent charged. There are no lights in the restrooms.
What a terrible time...TLDR: Awful Service (they activated the fraud on our cards), terrible food (especially for the price), and mediocre drinks. 0/5My friends and I were trying to enjoy someones 21st birthday, we were bar Hopping and showing him the ropes of NYC. We stumbled upon Bua with high hopes, those hopes being that it would be a bar. We werent prepared for how dramatic and unorganized the place would be. We ordered fish tacos and a burger, and what came out were middle school cafeteria level dishes at NYC prices. The wine came in tiny 6oz cups for 10 ea. And the bouncer was incredibly rude to us the entire time because we looked younger. Our waitress messed up the bill not once, or twice, but three times!!! She swiped our cards so many times that our banks all flared up with fraud alerts, and when I tried to leave to call my bank to sort it out the bouncer wouldnt even let me outside until I dragged dhim over to the bartender to explain (ludicrous I know). The whole staff was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and incompetent. The drinks were subpar. And the food was downright disgraceful. DO NOT COME HERE.
Stumbled upon this place while walking around the east village and, oh man, was I in for a nice surprise! Lovely quaint spot with excellent atmosphere and detailed interior. Awesome vibes! Great drink and food selection. I did not have any food but others seemed to enjoy it! Bartender was awesome and generous with the pours! Decently priced as well—for nyc that is. Anyway, I will definitely be going back here. Good place to grab a drink especially for a date.
Fun vibe and a nice place for drinks which are reasonably priced!
Really rude staff. Our group closed the tab and we needed a minute to finish our drinks and the waitress was incredibly rude telling us we needed to go. I understand she wants to bring in the next people to the table to keep the money flowing, but forcing people out mid-drink is a really unfriendly way of doing it.
Good craft beers and good food. Our waitress was exceptionally nice, helping us move three times to get better seats to watch the dance parade going down St Marks Place. I will definitely stop in again.
came here on a blisteringly freezing night. great cocktails and the irish bartender kept an eye and ear on the guys congregated around myself and friend and made sure to check in on us. mind you he was the only one behind the busy bar, making complex cocktails. i didnt get a chance to thank him.recommend!
I used to work in the kitchen, the food is delicious but they need better food presentation. This is a great place to watch sports with a nice Bua burger and a nice cold beer. Personally I recommend the bua burger and if you are a cheese lover the grill cheese sandwich it has lots of cheese. The staff is super friendly I really miss working there.
Simply the best bar in the east village. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. Definitely try the grilled cheese (with gruyereor the burger. They source there pickles from McLures so the pickle martinis and the pickles on sandwiches are amazing.
Stopped by this solid establishment with a friend during happy hour. Our waitress, Andee, was very pleasant and super attentive throughout the night(even after the place filled up with people).Ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was tasty and the fries were great too. Everything is well priced for the area. My only suggestion is for them to include jalapeños with their smoked and spicy margarita. It wasnt spicy enough. Had a really great time here and will definitely be returning.
The bartender was a little stand offish, but the food and drinks were mostly delicious!!! The fried pickles were a bit on the soft breaded side, chicken tenders were really yummy, as well as the fries. Try the adult sno cone, you will regret it if you dont!!!
Super busy restaurant with a club vibe on the weekend. Cocktails and food. A little too young of a crowd for my taste but great if youre looking for a party. Bathroom is pretty interesting.
This place has a classy vibe that sets it apart from its neighbors.this is ok spot, service is usually pretty good, but a little too crowded, get there early if you really want a spot.
One of my favourite bars in East Village! Dont forget to grab some finger food and claim some space on the outside patio.
Had an incredibly disappointing experience here. The blood mary was the worst one Ive ever had. It tasted like bitter clam juice and had strange white chunks floating in it. The bartender focused all of his attention flirting with one customer and at no point ever inquired as to why my drink was completely full. Made no offer to comp it and all but ignored the guests the entire time we were there. I cant speak to their food since the cocktail/service was enough to get us to leave. Will not be returning.
Cool place to check out with friends. This is a nice bar that has 2 rooms and an outside seating area. The bar itself is not very big, and the main room is rather narrow, but fun nonetheless. The back room has several tables, but be sure to get here early if you want to sit at one of them - people snag tables early and stay for quite a while. Outside is perfect for good weather and watching the hustle and bustle of the East Village. Overall, nice addition to St. Marks.
