It is a beautiful place well worth a visit
The best. Most beautiful. ❤️
Saona Island is absolutely a Caribbean paradise for those who want to visit the Dominican Republic, with wild and clean beaches, crystal clear water, wide white beaches, tall coconut trees. There is a village originally inhabited by Mano Juan fishermen on the island, but there are no accommodation facilities. A trip includes a stop at the "natural pools", an area where the water reaches up to the knees and you can see starfish and snorkel. The morning continues on the beach: a corner of paradise, the enchanting and fantastic wild beach Canto de la Playa, a long beach, kilometers of fine white and pink coral sand absolutely unoccupied by deckchairs or umbrellas, crystal clear water where you can dive surrounded by fish of various species and colors, a coral-rich seabed, palm plantations stretching across the bay. Lunch and return in the afternoon on a slow catamaran with music, dance and good vibes🌴🥥🍍🐠🐳🦑☀️🌺🍹🏝️👙
MoreBeautiful place apart every local trying to sell you something.
Paradise! Saona is the most iconic caribbean island.
Beautiful spot, but remember your sunscreen and mossy spray, dont expect any comforts.
MoreBeautiful scenic beach. We took a day trip from Dominican Republic resort. Tourguide was nice.Boat ride was bit long and loud constant Spanish music during boat ride put me off.All in all it was a great trip.
MoreFantastic place , like in heaven
Beautiful place, clean and warm sea.
Beatyfull beach suberb view, magic color of water. Must be seen.
Beautiful. But vendors are so aggressive wont take no & distract from relaxation & chairs are broken. Food was good. Water was gorgeous.
MoreAbsolutely the most gorgeous place I have ever seen. The water is clear , the sand is literally like baby powder. Will definitely be back every year if not twice a year
MoreThis place is awesome, the locals are really cool and the food is fine. Now the coolest part of this has to be how pristine and picturesque the landscape is. Would recommend this excursion to anyone staying in Dominican Republic
MoreBeautiful white sand beach, clear emerald waters, and relaxing atmosphere. This is a place not to be miss when traveling to Dominican Republic!
MoreLovely excursion for the day. Loved every minute
Unbelievable beautiful island in the Caribbean absolutely superb been here twice would recommend it to all
MoreNice experience and allot of sea stars for pictures!!
Very natural and beautiful island. However I wish that more could be done with cleaning up the litter and reducing the rubbish thrown carelessly. Apart from that unfortunate circumstance it is a amazing place and would love to see it thrive and grow.
MoreIts the best place to enjoy a beautiful day in the east cost the Dominican Republic, the Saona beach is beautiful
MoreThe beach is gorgeous. Careful when going in as there is coral and shells. Looks exactly like what was depicted in the movie Blue Lagoon. Lunch was simple but nice. Friendly service. Naturally beautiful.
MoreLocated on Catalina island be sure to visit it as part of a SCUBA diving tour. The water is amazing and the sea life is fantastic.
MoreThe beaches at Isla Saona are beautiful w cristal water, they have a buffet, they also offer massages n braiding. And the natural pool is the most beautiful place you can see the star fish..is just a wonderful experience to get away from the everyday routine.
MoreThe beach is beautiful and the suveniers very cheap. You can get a massage or beautiful braids also. The food was amazing. I wish there was something else to do over there, I got bored at one point.
MoreIsla Saona is one of the best and most beautiful places not only in the Caribbean but in my opinion in the entire world! The food, the drinks and all the staff are beyond amazing and entertaining.
MoreBeautiful beach and good food
An amazingly beautiful place. An unforgettable experience. Take a trip to Saona Island, get there with a fast motorboat. On the way to the island you will stop at this amazingly beautiful place. The ice will stop you in the Caribbean where the water is shallow and amazingly blue and you will have the opportunity to swim, see and shoot with sea stars, try Dominican rum inside the sea by a floating bar. Returning back will return with a crew catamaran to create a unique mood with lots of music dancing and drink I would definitely come back again.
MoreIts beautiful to see and be surrounded by the different types of forest and flora the Dominican has. Spoiler alert: the best part was the lagoon inside the cave😍
MoreThs place is amazing and the water is crystal clear. The only issue is waves could be strong at times according to the locals. It was certainly strong when we were there, and I lost my sunglasses in the waves. (ಥ﹏ಥ)
MoreWe went there with the excursion offered by our hotel. The island was really nice with beach and views of caves. People are extremely friendly and are rich with local cultures. Local food was also nice. The sea was impressive, very shallow until very far away from the beach and full of sea stars
MoreExcellent!! You must have to come to this place
This tour was fabulous, 1/2 a day at the Saona Island was extremely pleasant, crystalline water beach, the guide people on point.
MoreThe water was amazing, the 3ft sandbar was just awesome, plus the catamaran we booked to get us there was super fun wonderful experience.
MoreWonder er refill place to buy is it. Excellent food.
It is 1 of the most beautiful places on EARTH!! This is where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean and Blue Lagoon!! No photoshop!
MoreIf you ever have a chance to visit this place I highly recommend it. Its just absolutely beautiful. The water was so warm, calm and the sand was so soft. We took a catamaran Excursion for the day and had a blast. The beach was not crowded at all which was very nice.
MoreBeautiful places. Its worth seeing
Nice trip for tourists. Corral reefs are fake. They blasted reefs from some other places around the island and transported it there. Even if its full of fishes, the reefs are dead. That is really sad to destroy environmental beauty for this! Food was great and sea was wonderfull.
MoreGorgeous place. For those looking for national park- and reserve-visits, can be disappointing, unless you go to Mano Juan, the endemic village on the south shore of the island. Tropical beach paradise.
MoreAbsolutely beautiful and breathtaking in some spots. Many your operators will take you on a catamaran in the morning and return you on a fast boat in the afternoon. The trip typically includes a stop at a natural open ocean pool, lunch, music and 3 hour stay on Saona island is worth the $70 to $95 par person cost. The only downside is that there are many tour operators and the east side beach can get really full. Look for an operator that has guaranteed spots on the west, or Caribbean side of the island. The waters are tranquil and less congested.
MoreThe park itself is probably amazing however the boat tour was more of a party boat with music in excess of 100 decibels.. we swim at a sandbar for about 20 minutes then spent 2 hours in the park for lunch but it seemed like a tourist trap..Lots of vendors and beach chairs
MoreI LOVED our time in the Dominican. 10 Wonderful days!! Soana Island was AMAZING. The blue water, white sandy beaches, the laid back atmosphere.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
MoreI was in Saona Island, you take a boat from La Romana. Very nice day tour, the island has its tourist facilities. Normally the offer all you can drink (open barduring the whole trip. Be ware! 😁🥂
MoreBeautiful sandy beaches with shallow slope far out into the Caribbean Sea. Turquoise blue waters are where I was told The Blue Lagoon was filmed in the early 1980s. The beach experience was nice. Grilled seafood and other Dominican fare was pretty good. The included beverages was more limited than I had hoped.
MoreAmazing place to spend one day. The sand, the view, the water, the colors.... We went with Capitan Gringo, which served Lobster, and took us to Canto de la Playa
MoreWe went to Soana island and were very happy we did. It was a full day of being shuttled around between snorkeling in the morning, going to a sand bar with starfish, then getting to the island for several hours. They fed us a Dominican lunch that was some of the best food I had while on the island before taking us on a catamaran with dancing for another couple of hours. This park is beautiful.
MoreWater is super warm! The Barcelona hotels have food ready fit lunch! White sandy beach! Magnificent!!
MoreTurquoise water, staff was great, open bar during the excursion
A beautiful natural reserve. It seems well managed to keep development in check while accommodating tourists.
MoreWe did a Caribbean cruise for the first time and visited the private beach which was amazing. Crystal clear sea which is great for snorkeling and seeing the tropical fish and starfish.
MoreWe visited Saono Island, Del Este National Park La Altagracia ProvinceDominican Republic (June 2015). The crystal blue waters, sandy beaches, and cool ocean breeze made our brief stay very comfortable. We docked at Mano de Juan on the Caribbean side of the Island and were served lunch of grilled seafood. This trip is well worth the time and money.
