Early Bird Restaurant in Waterville

Bright and clean . Any breakfast place that has giant homemade biscuits , that are delicious, AND hash browns starts off with 5 stars! Everything I had was excellent. The eggs were done the way I asked (over medium). This place also had great service , friendly staff and did I mention the biscuits? 💕

Breakfast was delicious. I had the French toast. I wish they were open for lunch.

I am bummed that the Early Bird is reducing hours again. They are only open for breakfast 6-11:30. Still closed Tuesday and Wednesday. I liked their lunches.

Ive always enjoyed coming here when I visited family friends in the area. Very fast service, friendly staff, but just typical diner food. I wouldnt say the food is amazing, but its good. I got the strawberry pancakes, bacon, and home fries. The home fries were amazing!!

If you have an appetite that you cant fill this is a good place proportions are huge staff is super friendly home cooking at a quick pace even when its busy they do a good job putting food out!

Still the best breakfast ever . If your in oakland ,maine this is the best breakfast place everything is home made fresh daily ,large portions ,friendly staff. Always busy. Its a seat your self. And you can if your only 2 seat at a table for 4 or 6 if you want . But be polite set at the end if theres only 2 of you so 2 more people can set at the other end or 4 . People share the tables no problem. You get to meet new people. Everyone in maine is friendly. So get use to it. Its great.

Horrible experience. I have gone here at least once a week & every time with a 1 1/2 year old golden retriever service dog and today I was approached and told I was not allowed to let people pet my dog because he is a service dog. I was told he is not a service dog because service dogs are not allowed to be touched. We asked if we were not welcome here to tell me and we will never return. That’s what I was told. He always lays under the table and does not move. We bring him into every restaurant we go and have never been unwelcome, he did alert and bark once on the way in but immediately laid under the table when we arrived at the booth and did not move as he ALWAYS does. I called after I left to speak with the manager or owner about what happened and how unwelcome I felt and she told me I needed to have something marking him as a service dog. As I tried to explain her legally that is not the case I was hung up on.The owner needs to educate herself and her staff.

Nice place for breakfast if you’re in the area or a local. Service was fast and friendly.

Food is always amazing. Fast service. Wait time to sit can be a little long but so worth the wait. Would give 5 stars but parking is a little tight. I recommend parking in the back whenever possible. Not too far of a walk and more space to maneuver.

As always, a great place for breakfast. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesday due to shortage of workers.

They were super busy and we got a table right away. Super friendly staff great food in what felt like no time. Even though they were busy they didnt make us feel rushed to leave at all cant wait to go back

Great breakfast, but its always super crowded, and they dont take cards. Cash only. Taking a star for that. Its 2022; they should accept all forms of payment. I can understand a small business wanting not to pay fees, but they cant be doing that bad.

The food was great and our server was amazing. She was very nice, quick, and she didnt even let my coffee get below half. Hopefully the tip made her smile, she deserves it.

I have tried Early Bird 5 times before making this review. So brief summary of each visit. Me and my boyfriend ate here about two times during Covid. Food was awful and bland. Waitresses didn’t bother asking us how everything was so we couldn’t bother asking to remake it or a refund. The ladies by the register never smiled. We ordered pancakes on the next time. The pancakes had too much flour or mix in it as we both got sick. I went alone for the next two times. Same situation. I ordered French Toast and home fries. Home fries were bland even after adding salt, pepper, and ketchup. French toasts was soggy and still wait staff didn’t ask how everything was. Now I waited a good year before returning and figured it was Covid that’s why it was bad. Wrong. My hot cocoa had oil in it, want to say butter. Wasn’t terrible be nice to know they put butter in it. My boyfriend’s meal was bland. I took the waitress advice to get French toast over pancakes. My French toast had raw egg and were soggy. My hasbrowns tasted like they were boiled then on fried. Making them completely bland. I gotten food poisoning and the wait staff didn’t seem to care. If I could do a lower than one star review I would.

The food there as always was Top Notch! And the wait staff there are the cherry on the top.

Solid breakfast place. Just the basics...eggs,toast pancakes etc. Nothing fancy or creative. Waitstaff is very good and kitchen is quick.

A great stop in the early morning for my breakfast sandwich and coffee. Everything was just as it should be and I drove away feeling fine. How much more can you ask for in a country dinner? Dont forget to leave a nice tip and say, "PapaJoe sent me."

Strawberry pancake is too good to miss. Friendly, efficient, accurate service even with the shortage of staff during a pandemic. The muffins are wonderful, especially on the grill. This is my go-to place for breakfast on the Waterville area! Lunch is great, too.

Our usual breakfast spot was closed. We decided to try The Early Bird for the first time. The food was excellent and the service as well. Our waitress was superb. Cant remember her name. A young,bubbly redhead. Very kind and professional. We ordered and our food was on the table in like 5 minutes. Highly recommend this establishment. I believe our waitresses name was Erica.

The service was good. French toast was very dry as well as the pancakes. Bacon was on point. Drinks are outrageous 14.68$ for one person.

This was my 1st time eating here.9 am. On a Saturday.Very hungry for a good and filling breakfast.There was no waiting to get in.I had a omelet made my way.( Mushrooms, Broccoli, Sharp cheese). It came with toast.( thick cut, wheat toast)An order of bacon.( I was told there were 4 pieces of bacon to an order. Mine came with 5. Yay Me! ; )Coffee and grapefruit juice.The service was amazingly fast.And the waitress was kind and attentive.I also ordered their grilled Cinnamon Roll To- Go.I had heard that they were delicious.I will save the roll for my desert tonight. Warmed, with a scoop of ice cream.It is 10: am on a Saturday. And I am very happy that The Early Bird has helped to start my weekend off right!!

My first time there today. It was amazing. I will be going back for sure. the service was awesome and the food was great and it was pretty quick from the time we ordered to the time we got our food

Loved this little restaurant! The prices are very reasonable - especially for the amount of delicious food. The taste of food had this "down - home - cooked - small - town" sort of taste, which is good. Also, they do not accept credit cards (which I think is pretty awesome since the restaurant has this "old feel" to it), and one of the best parts is they they dont have TVs plastered all over the place! Not even one TV was discovered in there. Also the speed and service was tremendous, especially during Fathers Day. Highly recommend it.

Nice place and our waitress very nice but the food was not the greatest. The omelet was dry. The home fries where pretty much burnt. Sausage was very salty. Lunch might be better but the breakfast gets 2 stars.

Extremely friendly staff food has great portion size is perfect clean environment and family friendly had a great experience have been coming here for years. Definitely recommend this restaurant. 😊😊😊

Most certainly a down home Maine experience! If youre looking for a great breakfast place with great prices and great service, than youve found it here! The Early Bird in Oakland is the best....I recommend the grilled muffin top to start! If you see a Veteran there, pay for their breakfast, its the least you can do!!

They are fast and efficient! The person I went with loves burnt toast with runny eggs. Believe it or not, it can be difficult to get that combo right yet it was spot on. Mine was also just right. Thanks folks it was great.

Love this restaurant! Food quality is always excellent, prices are very reasonable and service is so fast, that even when there is a line out the door, youll end up being seated & served before you could drive somewhere else!

Best diner for miles. Delicious comfort food. Delightful servers and staff. Each of our foursome ordered something different, and no one was disappointed. We went for lunch, but the breakfast menu was available as well. Great experience.

Usually have a good experience but the service was slower than usual and it wasnt that busy.The waitress never came back and asked us how the food was and my grandsons pancake was burnt. I had to go and hunt her down and ask for my check. My chicken pot pie with excellent though.

Food was filling and not expensive. Comfortable diner style atmosphere. We had breakfast but the lunch menu was up and looked great. No credit cards accepted but atm inside. Plan on going back soon.

The server was the best part of this experience. I think her name was Sherry. My husbands pancakes tasted like they were made from a box mix and my french toast was soggy. The server had my French toast remade and it was still the same. Bland and soggy. The explanation was that they use homemade bread and that might be why theyre soggy. Hmmmm, I really dont think so. I wanted to like this place, but we wont be going back. Instead of making a better effort to make it right Im pretty sure the owner was standing behind the counter talking about me. Again, Sherry was great, but otherwise not a good meal. I wish I had a photo of my French toast.

I love this place. Breakfast comes out hot and quick. Service is always spot on and the food is tasty. My only complaint is that they have crappy sausage, so I usually get bacon. Get there early though because the name holds true, they get super busy past 8:00 on Sat and Sund.

Great food!! Best breakfasts in town!! I wouldnt consider it "healthy" but tasty and homemade. I only visiting Main in the summer and I try to go at least twice. Pancakes and the cinnamon rolls are my favorite

Great food, great service, very nice people. The food comes in under 5 mins at maximum! This is my favourite place to have breakfast. Ive been to a lot of breakfast restaurants, but this is the one I prefer! Definitely stop by sometime, if you want a amazing breakfast!👍

I love this place! Food is awesome at a fair price. The waitresses are very friendly and even though it isnt fast food it arrives at your table in a timely manner. I dont know how they make it so cheap and fast and so good at the same time!
