Eagle view - Restaurant in Chumphon, Thailand
So good! The place is owned by a family of Fishermen, so there is always fresh catch of the day.Had ours barbecued and it was just delicious.Cocktails and other Thai dishes were great too.The service was very nice - and the view of Shark bay from up there... Perfect.

The food was amazing and for a very good value. The place had the best view of the island, and staff is also very friendly, totally recommend it!
A unique spot with a breathtaking view!Food is super fresh and really good and the team is very friendly! We had some nice cocktails, the pad thai, fried chicken with rice and the fish.We will come back! :-)
Awesome view, even better food. Very friendly service and fair prices. Highly recommend!
The bbq fish we had with a lemon and garlic sauce was delicious! The rice was a bit dry. The view was absolutely amazing and just for that you should go there. While we were there there wasnt much going on and no other people were around. Maybe because you have to take the stairs all the way up through a house that looks abandoned. But its worth it, even if you just have a tea up there. Lovely servers who told me the recipie for the tasty lemon garlic sauce.
Beautiful view on Shark bay by sunset! Food was great too. They have Thai food and sandwiches.
Delicious food, gorgeous views and friendly staff ๐
Interessante Location und super essen! Die Preise sind super, vor allem im Vergleich zu den Alternativen in der Gegend. Drei mal hier gegessen und drei mal gut gespeist. Auch wenn der Weg mรผhsam ist warโs das wert :)
flying with eagledine good local food@reasonable price
Lovely place with fresh fish straight from the fisherman, who is the staffs husband. It is presented to you before cooking and it was delicious. Not to mention the incredible view!
Do not miss this place if you want an authentic thai experience! The food is beyond amazing, and very fairly priced, and we loved the drinks as well.Due to being on the top of a building, the views are breathtaking!
Amazing food, Cheap, run by a super cute family, I really recommend and loved the service. Super tasty. Only maybe bad point they are a bit slow but its because they make good food.
Not open.
The best view, hosts and dining experience in Thailand
all delicious foods with good service by the owner. grill fish and fried squid were very fresh and tasty. good view up there.
Nice place. Staff very friendly. There were dogs up top in the restaurant when we went during the day so felt a bit intimidated as one was barking! Staff noticed and took them away. Decided to walk from coral view resort where we are staying and see the sunset the next evening. Took about 20mins to get there as a bit uphill. Sunset was a bit cloudy because of weather. Food was lovely. We had the barbecue calamari and a chicken salad to share and was just enough for two of us. One beer five glasses of wine plus the food. total cost 1150 baht. Was quite busy but the one staff taking orders coped really well. Would highly recommend. Service out of 10 a 10. Food out of 10 a 10. Views 10 out of 10. Only downside for us was the dogs as mentioned earlier.
Very(!hidden gem. After a step climb you are in front of a ghostly construction site. Be brave and climb the funny stairs up into the 3rd storey to enjoy friendly staff, very reasonable prices for good local food and a breathtaking view. Absolutely must see whilst on Koh Tao.
Chill place! Delicious food! Perfect host!
Great restaurant at the top of the mountain. Lovely view to sunset and even better food.
Catch of the day with this view plus a nice strong cocktail. Worth 5 stars! From the Jamakirih Resort its just a bit up, follow the signs.
Good food, reasonably priced, awesome views!!
Beautiful view but very steep road on the scooter
Amazing experience! The server was kind and talkative and had a lovely chat with out group. Drinks were served strong which is a rare find in Thailand and the food was amazing! Highly recommend, but be ready for a bit of an uphill hike!
Great view spot, tasty fresh coconuts!
Hidden on the roof of an unfinished building!!!Amazing view! Funny and talkative service :-the owner is a fisherman and catches every day his fresh fish. As for it and they will explain you everything:-we went there 2x and it was always worth the steep stairs ๐ฌ
Outstanding authentic Thai seafood. The owner is a fisherman by trade and brings back his daily catch for the chef. Is there anything more to say??IMPORTANT: it is kind of difficult to find. You have to keep plodding up the concrete stairs of what seems like an abandoned building, until you hit the top floor and find... Seafood Nirvana.
Great fresh seafood
Really lovely hostess, made our family feel very welcome. BBQ fish was excellent. Good food for kids
Best dinner weve had on the island. Ordered garlic pepper seafood and fried fish in chili oil. My wife and I agree, it was the best fish weve ever eaten. The fish is caught day of and they let you choose which one you want. The restaurant is on the third floor and has beautiful views of the island. One tip however is its a bit of an adventure to get there and if your a novice biker, like me walk up the last little bit once you get to the last hill there... Youll see a security booth on your right and the hill is the next left.
Were staying at the Jamahkiri hotel just round the corner and had seen some reviews of Eagle View that looked positive so we thought we would visit for some dinner. As with everywhere in Koh Tao the stairs were a nightmare but it was definitely worth it!They brought out the fish for the day and you could tell it was amazingly fresh and tasted incredible and the family that run the restaurant were so welcoming, seeming genuinely interested in having a conversation with us.Others have said that the view was amazing- we went quite late at night so it was dark but you could tell being that high up mustve been amazing during the day or at sunset.
Great place to enjoy evening sunset and fresh fish for dinner.
the view is nice but the restaurant is awful, waiting for a common pad thai 90 minutes and we did not get them
View is good but theres not much else obvious there that would attract you. A concrete building site mostly. Didnt try the food.
Great views, perfect spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset. Worth the trip up the hill and stairs!Food was mediocre and a bit expensive.
No cover so quite hot at lunchtime. Very nice green curry and kind staff.
get past the ground floor which looks a bit like a construction site and climb up the steep stairs and you will be rewarded with a stunning view and great thai food cooked and served by a lovely family operated restaurant. highly recommended ๐
Great views, restaurant is nice, take in consideration that it takes a quiet a while before order is ready.
Nice restaurant on the hill with great view over sharkbay and sunset. Prices are higher than usual but still ok. The View itself is worth to go there - best before sunset
Lovely view for sunset
If youre staying at the Jamahkiri like us, I strongly recommend giving this place a go for dinner. We stayed at the Jamahkiri 4 nights and weve tried resort Thai food, touristy downtown Koh Tao Thai food, white people friendly restaurant Thai food, but nothing like this little family run homemade-this-is-as-close-to-Thai-as-it-gets Thai food. So disclaimer first: 1. Its not wheel-chair accessible. You have to go up a near 45 degree steep slope, then some big stairs. If youve been staying at the Jamahkiri then stairs shouldnt be a problem for you. 2. Its a family-run restaurant. The father catches the fish, the mother and daughter cook all the food. Its not fast food, but they do serve the whole table together, which I appreciate. We had the vegetable pad Thai. Best pad Thai Ive had in Koh Tao. Something about it just tastes homemade and strangely comforting. Husband had his dream green curry here. He said its just as creamy as hes ever dreamt. Even the fresh coconut tastes locally grown, like they probably got it from their the backyard. The BBQ mackerel by itself wasnt as good as the Seafood By Pawn fish, but when you dip the fish in the green curry... honestly that was the best dish. The view at Eagle view was something else. Theyre not on the second floor anymore, so dont think youre going to be sitting on some straw house if you saw old pictures. Now its ok the 3rd floor and its all cement and stone and the view is spectacular. It gets a bit windy, I would bring a jacket and a hair tie. If I had known this was here, I wouldve come here on my first night instead of Jamahkiri restaurant for dinner.
Its a good place for a sunset and a drink. If you wanna eat there just be there before sunset. It takes a lot of time until the food is ready. Overall though an amazing place.
This restaurant has been totally changed. All previous pictures are outdated and not existing anymore. The old wood structure has been abandoned. Concrete building has been finished and the Restaurant has been moved to the roof top. Over 60 meters above sea level, the Eagle View is even more spectacular. We stayed at Jamahkiri and explored this restaurant first night of our stay. At the beginning, we thought it was out of business as the steps could be discouraging. Finally we insist to go to the top floor and found the roof top restaurant. The owners are nice and professional though you have to be patient if it is a busy night. It is the traditional situation in Thailand of family restaurant. We were lucky the first night as we were the first only table and the owner just returned from fishing with lot of fresh catches. The other night was not so lucky. We have to wait for an hour for our food. Of course, we consume more Beer while waiting, ha ha!
Food is served at a low table. .you are sitting on the floor. You are actually on the terrace of a family house . The family who runs this live there and serve guest as they drop by. Some days no guests and some days full (4 tables ).Very simple place but wonderful food cooked by the mother (sometimes with some help from other family members The father is a fisherman. You should try their fish dishes! No fancy place but we love it! And the family is lovely!Update: The last time we were there they had started to build a new building. Now it might be different than from what I describe above.
Beautiful view and friendly staff
I like and recommand it! The name is choosen right - nice scenary from the top just like from a eagles nest!It can get windy up there sometimes.
Looks like closed but they are open at daytime and even until late night. Amazing food with an amazing view and super friendly staff.
Nice small (basicrestaurant with great view. More than 4 tables and on top of a building which is still being build / under construction. Not expensive, quality of food is ok.
