EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh

Big...its a little overwhelming for the first time. Went for space day. Great event. Lots of activities. Would go again and would reccomend. Personally I was excited to see the scale version of spaceship two. Be prepared to spend the day. A couple small videos were broken but it was a minor detail

I attended a wedding here and loved the atmosphere! Learned all about the planes AND got some great pictures while celebrating!

World class museum, great for flying enthusiasts and novices! Friendly, knowledgeable staff, fun displays and great activities!

Self guided tours with staff walking around to answer questions. Friendly staff, nice gift shop area. Even if you dont have kids, go to the kid zone and go up to the 3rd floor Control Tower. Have your picture taken with you in the Raptor (Maverick not included 😄). Really a cool place for kids and adults. Plan to spend minimum 3 hours if you enjoy reading about the planes. The only negative was many of the hands on activities were out of order (most of them, actually). Great museum...Highly recommend!

Great museum for kids and adults! Well thought out layout.

Went to EAA Museum for the specific event of the EAA Speaker Series. Have been attending for year and a half or so. Every speaker provides a moving and informational presentation. Usually take time before or after to wander around to admire the displays. Experience is well worth a small entrance fee for non-members to the Speaker series. Members are free to the Speaker Series. Highly encourage visiting the EAA.

Wow!!!! This blew me away! The amount of different planes they have on display is amazing! They have done a wonderful job making it all flow together! My kids enjoyed running around seeing all of the different planes and loved the kids zone!

The museum was very interesting. The docent greeted us at the entrance and was great. A couple of us got rides in historic open cockpit biplanes. Entire experience was awesome!

This place is really awesome beyond words, especially for someone that loves airplanes in history like myself. The price is are also very very accommodating for a family of 4+. Even gift shop has a very reasonable price, but just the history of every single airplane or aircraft in that building alone will blow you out of this world

Visited museum as part of EAA Airventure 2022. Great exhibits and lectures, both inside museum and outside in the pavilions. If you like anything aircraft related, Airventure is definitely the place to go each year! Over 10,000 aircraft and 650,000 attendees this year! Plus daily air shows and 2 night shows with massive fireworks finales.

Great museum, spent an afternoon in there...Even saw a plane I flew in as a child.....the "Breezy".They have a very nice collection!!

Historic aircraft and displays, and free for EAA members. I really enjoyed our short visit while at AirVenture, seeing many historic Homebuilts from the 60s- 80s and all sorts of other beautiful relics. Theres a vast gift shop too.

Fun place to visit for adults and kids. They have lots of interactive exhibits to keep kids entertained and interesting aviation and military history, and rooms of planes to see.

Price was good for the size of the museum. You could spend several hours here reading everything. Seeing all the different planes was so cool! If you like history, you’ll definitely like this place.

It was a fun experience with plenty to look at and learn about. At pioneer airport the workers where nice and where running the young eagles program in which kids where able to go fly In a small plane. They even gave a chance to fly the plane which was thrilling and exciting.

Great airplane show and so many airplanes to see. I had a great time. Its a great event to do.

We did do the museum. We did the EAA air show. So much walking. But the things to see. It is hard to see everything in one day. The air show was fantastic.

Experimental Aircraft Association hosts this great museum in Oshkosh Wisconsin. It is the home to the annual AirVenture Airshow in late July. You can stop by anytime of year. Plan to spend at least two hours. There’s so much to see with historical aircraft and aviation icons.

Went here while at the Airshow in Oshkosh. Admission was Free for attendees of the Show. Lots of Cool Planes and History. I bought a Shirt and a Hat at the Gift Shop.

Amazing museum and Airventure fly in on July. Fun for all.

Not very family friendly. Staff had no idea what was going on, were unable to correctly or safely direct traffic with pedestrians.Staff were generally rude and unhelpful in regards to the confusing layout of the grounds. For first timers, we had absolutely no idea where we were going as there was almost no directions within the facility or grounds themselves.Concessions were just food service companies, youd think maybe theyd open this giant even up to some 3rd party food truck services or similar.With no warning, most of the military craft were gated off and closed while we were standing in line and then let their friends and family onboard instead of paying customers. Would be nice if they provided a schedule for events?The only good part were the aircraft and airshow, the generally grumpy staff and absolute lack of coordination for pedestrian traffic and directions within the grounds were quite pathetic. Golf carts and buses driving fast right next to kids was pretty odd too.Staff tried loading us with a stroller onto a school bus for shuttling TWO times after we waited forever in line and simply could not understand we needed the handicap bus for the stroller which did show up (in an unmarked location so we had to sort of guess where he would park then flag him down when he came, for $54/per adult admission...really EAA?)All-in-all, you couldnt pay us to go back to this cluster**** of an event. I should add that if you are going for the kids aviation events, theres really nothing there for them to do especially if they are under 8.

The air show needs to be captioned or a print out of what is being said about each plane needs to be provided for the people with a hearing loss. The planes were fun to watch, but I could not identify all of them. We want to learn and know what type of plane is being showcased.

I had a good time when I visited here. I would recommend visiting if you enjoy aviation.

If you like airplanes this is a must visit. Also great for the family. Kids scavenger hunt and lots to see! Well worth the visit!

self guided tour of airplanes from the wright brothers to world war ii. and planes that were small racers and experimental. well laid out and has an area for young people to learn and play at the same time. well worth the price but my 7 year old grandson got a little bored before we left.

This was a place to visit on my bucket list! It did not disappoint! I could have spent even more time than I did. I still want to get back for the EAA AirAdventure. Until then I was in awe of all the amazing skills of the experimental aircraft that had been hand build in their own workshops. Starting with the Wright Brothers Flyer, to a nice selection of famous WWII Warbirds, to AirRacing legends, to state of the art cutting edge aircraft! American ingenuity and craftsmanship was on display everywhere you turn. The EAA Aviation Museum was such an amazing place to visit. EVERYONE needs to see it at least once in their lifetime!

Really really good museum. Went in kinda not feeling one way or another about planes, came out stoked to tell everyone wholl listen cool aviation trivia. More than once I felt so emotional learning about these marvels of human ingenuity throughout the ages.The space is smaller than some museums Ive been to but the exhibits are so dense we spent about four hours exploring. The Kidventure exhibit is very hands on and fun.

Simply terrific. Took our granddaughters and they loved it (ages 6 and 12so much to see and plenty for the youngsters to interact with many exhibits. The aircraft were spectacular.Highly recommended!

World-class museum and very knowledgeable docents. There were numerous really well-done, wonderful exhibits. There was military and civilian aviation history, and it was all fascinating to me. I could’ve easily spent ALL day there, open to close, and maybe part of the next. It was not very crowded on Tuesday at mid-day. We stayed at HickoryOaks RV park nearby, and it was a nice easy in and out sort of park.

Wonderful museum with well done, beautifully presented exhibits. My husband was a pilot and weve visited many aviation museums. This one is really a cut above. I especially appreciated the good lighting and COLOR in the exhibits - too many museums are dark, drab, and uninviting...and consequently turn something that should be interesting into something boring. Not here. If youre interested in aviation, visit this place. Youll enjoy it.

World class aviation museum that is free to members. Maybe nice displays covering a wide range of aviation history. Be sure to check out pioneer airport via the tram on the back side of the museum. Also open year round and better to visit not during the annual Airshow. Gift shop is also well stocked for the aviation lover in your life.

It helps when you get the opportunity to land at Pioneer Field, but these museum is one of the greatest tributes to aviation!

We visited for a 5th and 6th grade field trip. The kids had a lot of fun, the interactive exhibits on the second level were more interesting for them. They have a scavenger hunt to keep the kids engaged. It was overall good for a 2 hour visit, anything longer and they would have lost interest.

Absolutely fantastic museum to visit if youre interested in aviation! They have dozens of exhibits dedicated to the history and science of flight, vintage aircraft and replicas of historically significant planes, and a kids corner with all kinds of activities to keep children entertained. Staff Ive spoken to on my visits are always friendly and passionate about aviation. Always a great museum to spend the afternoon!

I love this museum! There is a collection of airplanes here that will excite and satisfy anyone curious about the origins of flight and personal homebuilt aircraft. They have exhibits that cover everything from the Wright Brothers up to modern space flight. Very cool and worthwhile if youre in the Oshkosh area.

A great experience for the whole family. There is a lot of history to learn about. The facility was extremely clean and well maintained! We will definitely go again!

There is tons of things to see, watch, playland explore. From old to new and all between. Space exploration to military, there is something for everyone. Flight simulators and many other things await you at EAA!

My children always have so much fun here at this museum. So many things to do. Lots of hands on experiments. Great gift shop as well!

The EAA museum is a wonderful experience. You can literally spend a whole day roaming through the many exhibits. Today, I chose a different way. I did the scavenger hunt, which I was able to complete is about an hour. Bonus: When the scavenger hunt is completed, there is a super secret message to decode. Decode the super secret message to get a prize from the gift shop.

Great place to learn and see all types of planes. The childrens spot is cool for everyone and you can sit in a jet! If you live in the area and havent gone, I suggest a trip. In the summer its better because they open the outside hangers and you can take a trolley and see even more planes.

I took our grandsons and family there during Christmas and had a fun visit. There are a lot of hands on activities for the youngsters. My favorite was to sit in a hang glider and try to maneuver to a spot pictured on the screen. Needless to say, I didnt make it. The atmosphere is very welcoming and educational for old and young minds. The gift shop is an aviation delight and the employees were most helpful. Clean restrooms and handicap accessibility made for a pleasant visit.

Highly recommended for all. Plan to spend a couple hours to tour the museum. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing museum of historical aircraft, ranging from early home built aircraft to the latest cutting edge composite planes. I wish I could have taken the flight in their working biplane but the weather wasnt cooperating. Id definitely go back if Im ever in the area again.

We visit the museum every year during Airventure, but if we were in Oshkosh any other time, wed stop. The kids area is interactive and fun, the museum is nice layout, full of history, and aviation.

Attended the Oshkosh Air Show. Many, many times friends have told me to go, but this was my first time. They were right- its an amazing show! Like the Chicago Auto show, but with planes! You dont need to be a pilot to enjoy it. Lots of cool concept planes, as well as military. Great fun, but youll need more than 1 day to see the major sights, and a week to see everything.

Such a great day for the 8yo! She was reluctant at first to do a Young Eagle flight but came off wanting to be a pilot. Great place for kids and adults alike. Lots of interesting history.

Fantastic day! You will need all the 7 hours they are open to see it all. Going to the 1920/30 hangers with all the old tools and planes. The main museum with War birds, experimental and exotic all point to the EAA thought process. Walked with my grandson and had a great time. Remember to eat a good breakfast as there is no food court just snacks.
