Dzyga Art Center - Art cafe in L'viv, Ukraine
A nice joint putting a gallery, a bar/restaurant, a gift shop under the same roof. Art and drinks - what else do you need? Great as a waypoint for your touristy day, because there are a few more galleries and artist workshops right around it.
Food is good and prices are reasonable. But more importantly, the live music was better than anything Ive ever heard.
Renewed Dzyga is really good. Enjoy the atmosphere of 90’s in Lviv and nice music. Food is also good and drinks from Fest Lokal. Keep in mind, there are 2 different cafes - Kvartyra 35 and Pid Klepsydroy. So enough space for everyone including the terrace. Also don’t miss the art gallery on the first floor. Enjoy the iconic Place in Lviv!
Nice quite place to sit, sip tea and work for an hour.
Good music, nice surroundings, good vibes - beer, wine tastes better here. Been here on Monday but still it was pretty alive place to be.
This place is a part of my life from 2005. Iam not a barfly, and it is not a bar. Its history.
Nice art cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee surrounded by paintings and enjoying music.Inside there is an art shop and an art gallery. Totally recommended 👌
Jazz was wonderful, nice place and cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed music and beer.
We sat outside and ordered beer and cold cuts. The place was empty, just two tables. The server took about 20 minutes to get us our order. It was ridiculous but I understand it sometimes could be the problem with the kitchen. However when we paid, left her 15% tip and said thank you, she just took our money and left. Its really not that hard to be polite in the service business. If you dont like your job, just leave. The food and beer was good however.
This place is epic ART location in Lviv. Cafe, foods, fortune cookies, souvenirs, exhibitions, live concerts, nice interior and cozy yard. All is here. And history of this location is very interesting - worth learning about.
A great place to visit
Nice place for drink. I strongly recommend cherry cider!
Great place to dine and drink. At the enterance, there is temporary gallery. Nice place for creative minds.
my favorite place to work during the day, and hangout in the evening. Great music, chill vibes.
(replying to the owner)I use a rating rule to assign five stars to special places only. As a cafe, your place is ordinary. Lets start with the fact that some menu items are not available for ordering.
Nice cozy interesting place for art people!
The place is great and has a unique vibe to it, but the tuna from my sandwich was misplaced with mackerel :d
This is a perfect place to work. Its a combined art gallery and restaurant/cafe. Plenty of space and not much people. They have several rooms to sit in both downstairs and upstairs. Great WiFi and good beer.
Dzyga Art Center consists of a gallery of contemporary art (land art, graphics, sculpture, photographyand conceptual café. They serve such rare for Ukraine dish as smørrebrød - traditional Scandinavian open-faced sandwich. Although its ok to have there just coffee and desserts, it is highly recommended to attend the café during some live music event which is quite common there - jazz, blues, ethnic, electronic music, etc.
For sure it would be 5 stars, if only it wasnt for some drunk dude disturbing the visitors, and no one seemed to care about. The place is great though, as it always was. You should definitely visit during a busier hour, and try their beer plate (non vegetarian).
How can an experience from otherwise great place be ruined by staff’s behaviour.. the girls in the bar were really nice but their colleague in the gallery shop has given me such faces that one was hesitating a lot whether to even go upstairs. All of that only because I tried to speak Ukrainian and didnt understand right away to what she replied. More respect wouldnt hurt her.
Good for drinks and live jazz music (from 20:30 when we were there on a Thursday night).Bad for food, frankly.Very friendly service.
Wonderful combination of the art center, bar and jazz music! Worth to visit!
That the iconic place if you like jazz and want to feel some art vibes in the air. Is a great stop for a coffee or drink. Love it!
Friendly staff, tasty food, charming music! It was a great time of evening in Lviv)
They play very good calm and jazz music, matching the ambience. Not big choice of drinks but the craft beer I tried was perfect.
Cozy place to listen life jazz
Loved this place. Especially great when the bands are playing in the evening. Staff is attentive and friendly. My only "eek" is the fact that the food is served in cans and it looks like cat food. Edgy but looks a bit weird and doesnt go well with the rest of the vibe tbh.
A very special atmosphere with a cute terras squeezed between the buildings it is ideal for a late summer evening as there is no wind and it doesnt come down early. The food are mostly traditional/historic dishes which is great to experience.
Iconic place, now transformed and restructured. I wouldnt say the menu is perfect, but they definitely have good coffee, sweet dishes and some interesting stuff like chocolate covered salo (pig fat).So if art, coffee and good atmosphere sounds like something you would like - take a stab at it!
Legendary place, for me also a place of lots of memories. The atmosphere still deserves 5 stars, but (as I heard after the place had been taken overother things have turned to the worse:The selection of drought beer has shrunk to three (blonde, dark, "special"from the new owners own brewery - so no "Mykulunerske", no " Lvivske" etc.We ordered "Holubtsy" and "Bigus" as main dishes. The food was OK - but it came served in tin cans like cat food - not climate friendly, and also not enough to feed a hungry adult. All in all: still a nice place, but for somebody knowing how it used to be its just a shame what the new owners made of it. I know that amongst Lvvians theres quite a bit of controversy about these changes. I hope the new owners get the message and stop ruining the "Dzyga"!
This is an iconic artsy coffee and food venue, mostly unknown (thank Godby tourists, and therefore not overcrowded. Always good coffee and great atmosphere and decor, its frequented by artsy locals and wannabes.
I love this place, so many little areas you can sit and enjoy a drink. There’s two levels and an outdoor area for smokers. Local beers are good and they have basic dishes and desserts. Great place to come for a group. #BeatTheGrind
The menu is very simple, a lot of beer and local liquors in the menu.We had sangria, and a cheese plate. Both were fine
I was there only to see art exhibition but it seems nice, decent art cafe place to just drink coffee and chill.
Prices are fine for Lviv, not bad pleace to visit, good music on a background, warm atmosphere, polite staff
Nice place to experience live music and tasty food. We had really nice patê, hummus, different soups and main dishes and all was beautiful. There was a jazz night during my visit but the place is mainly famous for screening Charlie Chaplins films. Minus point for being a little bit cold inside and for food brought in cans, then openwd and served on plates. It was quite a unique but it not very zero waste friendly unless they re-use all the cans and lids.
It is a cozy cafe, Ive been here 3 years ago and it was my favorite, but now they doesnt really have alot of food option :(
Their menu is soo Limited. Theres nothing to eat but the jazz thing really saving everything. Really cool experience.
Since the new owner the menu and a service got a lot worse. It`s a pity. The waitress ignored us for over an hour, after which she came to our table but seemingly immediately forgot what we ordered. We only waited so long because we were curious about the band. Wont come back to this place.
One of places I go every time I visit Lviv. The coffee is delicious, they always have new exhibition so every time it is new experience.
Some of the best music youll ever hear in a cozy, classic atmosphere. Good wine too
Very cozy place. They hold concerts and events every evening. There are nice choice of food and beverages. I even drank apricot cider.
Its nice cozy place with art displays that you can purchase. Also as everything in downtown is more expensive than other places. It has upstairs that have local bands perform on stage.
Too expensive, but one of my favorite place in the city. It has his own spirit.Sometimes live band plays jazz on evening.Love their ice cream and coffee.
I love this place. It has its own "anturage", special atmosphere. Music, furniture, menu - everything is special and you cannot evaluate them as "ordinary" café. I recommend everyone to go there, sit and enjoy for couple of hours. Try to feel the atmosphere of old Lviv.Recommend, 5*!
Is full off inspiring local authenticity. You might meet there good live music, delicious food, tasty coffee and great folks.
This is the worst place for breakfast in the city, at least in our experience. I took my parents here to impress them with one of the cooler cafes in Lviv, and we were all disappointed. 1. They didnt have eggs Benedict (one of THREE breakfast options). 2. When my mom settled for scrambled eggs, it was undercooked, the potatoes were mixed in and grey, there was VERY little bacon (you literally had to look for it underneath the potatoes), and the general presentation was disgusting. It looked like something a college kid would whip up when theyre late for class.DO NOT GO HERE FOR BREAKFAST. Weve had better experiences at dinner, which is the only reason its getting 2 stars instead of 1.
Legendary place in Lviv. A must see for those who appreciate art and have a good taste. Service, though, could have been better.
The gallery and the cafeteria are always worth to step in. Order a drink and ask for the bonus haiku to accompany it.
