Went there for the restaurant. My vegetarian pizza was a bit disappointing with not enough cheese and the tomatoes where added after the pizza was ready. Only desserts they had was ice cream although it was a very cold day. Its a pleasant place overall.

The Dutchess Hotel was a convenient one night stop in Fort Portal. The rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is very good. We enjoyed the location of the hotel that made it easy to walk around town, yet was very quiet. We would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Fort Portal !

A very quiet place with the best pizza & its deliveries around town. Juices were wow.

Great food and service. Reasonably priced

Overall the food is good and the place is peaceful. We were pretty disappointed by the pizzas (Bombay crustbecause it was too dry, and had not enough toppings to compensate the dry huge crust.The rest of the food was veryyyy good (lasagne, Korean beef...and the waiters are nice.

Very nice place to eat around Fortportal city at affordable prices

We staid here for two nights when we were in Fort Portal. I really like the rooms we were given (spacious / clean/ well equippedbut even more so the food. Every morning there were fresh breads to accompany the breakfast. For dinner one night we had the pizza (the Italian crust was perfectly done), the other night the lasagna and cordon Bleu. Had some nice local craft beers as well and good seating area in the back. Only downside (During Covidwas that they already took your orders at 5:30 for food and served you at 6:30. This was the only place during our visit that was pretty inflexible for when you could eat.

The place is well curated and serves good food but it doesnt have a place for people in a wheel chair and the prices of food are Abit high compared to other places

The place is good, environment Serene, pizza so yummy. In need for a quiet place to do some after office work or catching up with a friend or family day out or come on a date its the right place to come to. Its also easily accessible as its few meters away from the heart of Fortportal city. Bravo as you enjoy your visit anytime you happen to be there✌🏿

Zero vegan options, very unhelpful staff, and they do not offer any discounts for removing dairy products. Didnt even have any bread without milk. Very disappointed and would not recommend to anyone.

Excellent food and reasonably priced. The staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. They also have a great bakery where fresh European bread and self-made Gouda cheese can be purchased. Well worth a visit

The aerial view of a Royal Cheeseburger doesn’t do it justice. This is quite a burger! Home made burgers, tasty beef, well cooked with cheese and bacon (bacon portion on the small side), nicely cooked onions and tomato slice. Comes with Thousand Island dressing inside burger (I wouldn’t have wanted it, if asked). Buns, breads and more baked on site. Chips are priced separately and today I wanted to FINISH the burger...! And I did 😋The Dutchess Restaurant in Fort Portal is arguably the go-to place for local expats, volunteers and a good number of visitors. It’s in a back street meaning it is quiet. It deserves to be busier as the extensive menu is great, with daily specials such as nsenene (grasshopper!omelette when in season and crocodile dishes. (Perhaps the slightly higher prices put some visitors off?)Pizzas are amazing; unique take-home items include bread, coffee, chocolate, cheese, cream, homemade muesli.Management have invested in training staff and are constantly innovating. They are always receptive to feedback. The gardens are lovely. Overall, highly recommended!

The waiters were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. The food was excellent and the portions were very good! Easily the best food Ive had in this city.

Best pizza in Fort Portal (& so far anywhere in Uganda that I have tried), had a very nice after dinner coffee as well. I would highly reccomenda stop here for lunch or diner

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to the crater lakes. Upon arrival first a little shocked, but once you walk down to the property from the parking lot it is very nice. Beautiful garden, lots of space, nice terrace outside. With a bit of luck the clouds will reveal the Mountains. The room was perfect, big bed, lots of space in the room, a nice little bathroom with hot water and small details like a welcome drink, free water in the room and a mosquito repellent lamp.There is satellite TV And WiFi in the room, also WiFi is not the strongest, connection is better in the restaurant. The breakfast is also served in the restaurant and was very nice with fruit, fresh herbal tea and a good selection of eggs, pancakes and musli.We had a dinner at the restaurant which is open to the public, and that ist the reason I can only give a 4 star rating. despite the long introduction page about how the owners love good food and source everything locally I had canned mushroom on my pizza. The pizza itself was good, thin crispy base nice seasoning but the topping a little disappointed. My husband ordered a local beef dish and we wanted to replace the rice with chips. According to the waitress impossible, not even at an extra charge, which seemed very unbelievable. Once the dish arrived we had a hard time finding the three little beef cubes in the sauce even though it was priced the same as a 200g steak. It is probably still one of the best restaurants in town, but we were a little disappointed about these little issues. Even though we informed the waitress there was no apology at all.

The best dining experience in Fort Portal. I would even consider it a top choice if it were in Kampala. Staff is very courteous and the hotel is impeccable, but not luxurious.

Only been there to eat. The food is lovely, only small portion for a big price. The pizzas are good and enough.Cosy garden, nice to have dinner. The staff is friendly even after a reproach off the owner. The bread is also lovely.

Food and service was food the first time. We didnt like crocodrile, I think was not fresh. Second time we tried to take dinner they were closing, I think they runned out of food otherwise I cant understand it

Restaurant service could improve. Last couple of visits we waited around 40 to 45min to get served with something to drink from the time we placed order. Other than that, great place to visit.

Dutchess is the best place in town for pizzas and the like. If youre wanting to eat food more like you had at home as an expat, this is the place to go. Also, they are the best place in Fort Portal to find a Wifi connection without using a modem.

Great food. Very welcoming staff, aww the internet is pretty fast. One exceptional thing I loved at dutchess was the pizza. A wide range of pizzas which are a bit highly priced but probably the best Ive had in Fort! And of late they do deliver. You can always order on phone and find your order ready!

Their accommodations are really nice. The food is a bit pricey. We ordered the croc? Alligator? Burger and it was pretty tough. And for a place that sells cheese, their pizza barely had any cheese on it. I was super excited after reading the reviews but was honestly disappointed with the food. On the flip side, their cheese, bread, cookies and yogurt are amazing!

Cute little place in fortportal town, with delicious little dishes. Totally recommend trying the chicken cordon bleu while you are there. In terms of quantity, they could could better. 😀 also you gotta pay for the WiFi separately, I found that alittle odd.All in all, nice place to grab a bite and chill.

Great little hotel, with perhaps the best resturant in fort portal. The prices for the rooms are very reasonable (single rooms with a shared bathroom or bigger family rooms with attached ones).Safe area not far from the town center, clean and safe. Will be definitely where I spend my next visit to fort portal.

Full range of great food with wine and drinks. Personable, efficient and welcoming staff. Menu indicates length of time for preparation of dishes. Nice outside venue. Great place to watch the sunset.

I have visited restaurant. Food is special and delicious. Also mood is good. If u visit fortpotal and want to try to eat special place, try it. However they wanted over charge for celebriting birthday and eating cake. But we ordered our menu each and add more pizza for sharing. Anyway its good place. Enjoy ur time in fortpotal!

Excellent food, clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff and excellent service. The food is very healthy, cheese is made on site. Excellent desserts and the juices are fresh.

An inviting restraunt, with a large assortment of healthy menu selections. Our order for 10 people came out within 20 min. Presentation was chef elegance. Staff was courteous and attentive. The desserts options span from a decadent chocolate mousse to a lively passion fruit glazed fried plantain. Once we had a meal, we couldnt go anywhere else in z Fort Portal.
