Dürümzade - Restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey
Dürümzade in Istanbul
Description
Privilege
What more can be said that hasn’t been said about this place. Absolutely Devine food and service. Heard many reviews about this place and we decided to take a walk away from Istiklal and made our way here. Very simple setup but it is worth the wait and walk. Would go far as to say it’s the best sheesh kebabs in the whole of Istanbul 👌We had to have it again before we left, that’s how good it is! Would love to visit again the next time we visit Istanbul 😀
MoreUsually stop by everytime I am in Istanbul, it has been awhile since the pandemic but look forward to making one last visit! Made a trip today (2022); had one Adana & one takeaway with Xtra red onions (yum-yum)!! The polis escort wasn’t for me :(
More10 out of 10. Probably Anthony Bourdain has better words than me to describe, but I found it unique. The softness, the flavour, the packaging. Everything is in order.Ive tried many kebabs in Europe, and Middle East, but this one is by far the best of them.
MoreFirst, theres no doner here (so Google plz fix it). This is a small yet popular fast food restaurant that makes wraps of Mediterranean grills. Though I, like many, were looking for doner, the food here is actually delicious and the staff are nice. This is not exactly a dine-in restaurant despite the few tables on the curb. But you wont regret it anyway.
MoreUnpretentious place serving food worth a lot more money. ♡
Really tasty food my favorite is their Adana Durum best food I tried so far, will definitely come back if I come to Istanbul again
MoreOne of the best kabab in Istanbul, clean, affordable prices and very friendly staff they speak English as well. Highly recommend the cosy place 😊
MoreAmazing kebab, really worth dropping by. If it is good for Anthony Bourdain its good enough for you!
MoreTried this after so many bloggers, youtubers recommended it! And wow it didnt disappoint. We tried their chicken kebab wrap and plate. Amazing taste! Want to eat this everyday
MoreVery very very tasty Durum. This is a top five of places to eat at Istanbul.
Best Adana durum in Istanbul. Don’t go anywhere else. For a more meaty sandwich ask them to put four Adana into one durum. Game changer.
MoreSmall shop, big taste. Best kebab and wrap. Definitely worth visiting.
This is the best, tried others and nothing compares… Amazing food and all the owners are so nice and warming..Been in Istanbul for a week and already ate here 3 times…A must for everyone especially the Adana kebab and the salad..Thanks guys..
MoreAfter eating here I had dreams of the chicken kebab… I came back and tried the Adana! All of it was amazingly delicious. It’s a great place for a quick bite for a decent price. The service was also quick and the servers were also really nice.
MoreBourdains photo in the window. What else can İ say? Five minutes off İstiklal and worth every step.
MoreUndoubtedly one of the best experiencesthat I had in istanbul.I highly recommend it if you want a delicious meal with good price compare to other places in istanbul.the only problem is that sometimes its crowded.
MoreThe bread is crunchy. Go there during the day.. Its the best place to have a grilled wrap. Definately a Turkish Local Delicacy. It is in Taksim but close as well to Tarlabaşı which is a sketchy neighbourhood so try it during the day. The best place I would go for a meat wrap in all around Istanbul after living here for 30+ years. Enjoy
MoreThose was literally THE BEST kebab and chicken shish in Istanbul. The guy who served us was so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!!
Morethe food tasted very nice. But the kabab had some fatty bits inside it. I loved the size of the wrap it was very filling. I order the beef and lamb wrap and it tasted nice but a little to much onions.
Morethis place hits the spot. highly recommended!!!food is fresh and cook by order!!!Only downside was the size, only a few tables but worth the wait!!Service was also very good!!
MoreBest grill local food for a great place.
Amazing, delicious, exactly as Anthony Bourdain described it! Everyone who served us were incredibly sincere and helped us work through the menu even though we did not speak Turkish. A must stop.
MoreLoved it, great food. One the place that Anthony Bourdain visited when he went to Istanbul.I would recommend it 100%
MoreThe best Durum Ive ever eaten. You can tell him to make it extra spicy and double durum (this is the one I always eat). The last time Ive been there was 2017. Missed it very much.
MoreAwesome Adana spicy wrap. Little on the saltier side but when paired with Ayran definitely feels tasty. The lenitel soup was simple and light. The service itself was quick and pleasant. Nice little food joint with no frills ambience.
MoreDelicious food and very cute small Turkish local...
Although the size of the kebab is smaller than the usual Adana kebab, the food is SO SO GOOD. Perfect flavors, extremely tasty and worth it. This humble little restaurant is worth the hype. The chicken was so soft and perfectly cooked. The salad is a mustttt to order with the meats. Been craving it since I tried it. Will be back just for the food. Really lovely owner too ♥️
MoreThe food served here is very good, both the grilled meats, salad and naan bread! But the best thing about this place is the server, Onur, really genuine & great guy, wonderful experience thanks to him.
MoreGreat staff! Excellent food - tiny place so there might be a wait.
4th day in Istanbul and finally found the amazing food we were looking for. Other places were good, but Durumzade is AMAZING. The chicken platter was superb, came with flavoured bread and perfectly cooked chicken. The Adana wrap had juicy meat and was perfectly seasoned. And the Soup is a must try. Highly recommend. One of the best meals I have ever had.
MoreThis is one of the stops where Anthony Bourdain ate when he visited Turkey (RIP 😣Anywho, food is excellent and very normal-priced. Literally, a must eat!
MoreExcellent local spot - had three different options all of which were great! Cheap, tasty and local. Definitely recommend!
MoreNot the best kebab I had in Istanbul/Taksim but for the price, it’s excellent value for money!
MoreBEST DONER PLACE IN ISTANBUL AND BEST SERVICEthey were able to accommodate all 18 of my family membersthe platter, wrap and house salad are amust
MoreOne of my favourite spots in the city. Every option on the menu is an incredible choice. The meat is so juicy and flavourful, my personal favourites are the spicy kebab and the beef and lamb options. Very affordable too!
MoreYou must try this place if you’re in Istanbul. Very humble and friendly staff.Order the Adana, it was amazing!
MoreThis is the best grill meat in Istanbul. We ordered the lamb liver and spicy lamb&beef mix with a small salad. Liver is not dry but very juicy and hot, so does the spicy meat on the stick! They sold out chicken today, we definitely will come back again! Highly recommended!
MoreSmall shop made famous by Anthony :)Came on a rainy day and no wait at dinner time.Very solid kebab, full of spice and charcoal flavor. Portion is quite big and one wrap serves the whole meal. Not the most juicy adana in town but one of most flavorful I had!
MoreHere is my favorite restaurant in Istanbul; I will go there every time I go to Istanbul. They give you special Salad and bread with your kebab. really water mouthing
MoreOne of the Best meat dishes around i tastes today. Recommended!Staff friendly and fast delivery.
MoreWe had an amazing meal at Durumzade. We got the adana durum, which was spiced and cooked to perfection, they serve it with two skewers which is more meat than a lot of other places, so it was really packed! The small mixed platter was the real winner, big enough for two people and all the meat was very tender and super tasty, and a good price too at 125TL. If youre interested to watch a video of my experience, check out my channel Hungry Two Travel.
MoreThis is a really simple low key shop serving good kebabs on a charcoal grill.Good quality Adana Spicy Wrap. We needed a bit more spice so added some pickled chillies on the side. The wrap was fresh and really good. They put 2 skewers inside but I felt they were too thin.Overall, great for Turkey standards but I’ve had better wraps in other countries.
MoreThis place was amazing. The food is cheap and the quality and taste is very much worth the price. It’s a small neighborhood corner shop that serves doner kebaps (chicken and a Lamb/beef mixserved fresh. One we were done eating we noticed an article and couple of pictures in the wall and it seemed like Anthony Bourdain had visited this place at some point. After some research it turns out he had.I would recommend this place regardless.
MoreWent here at night on a weekday and there was no wait. Small little spot which is surprising given Anthony Bourdain stopped by. I got the Adana beef wrap which was a pretty good portion size. The food was decent and the service was good. This place is worth checking out if you want a wrap
MoreThe best Kebap around town. I tried the Adana Kebabs. If you dont like the meat to be extremly fatty like most places, this would be your place. Meat is just tender, cooked to perfection and served hot with bread and a spread of hot sauce. Its a spicy dish but not too much, its just right. Amazing seasoning, magnificent simple salad and the best Lentil soup you would ever taste. Excellent place, one of the best street foods in Istanbul. The shop is on a corner, there is little seating area inside. The outdoor seating area is on the walkway and mainly on a street, expect to wait for a table to be free at busy times. Service is great, price is superb, and the quality is just perfect.
MoreTo begin with, the food is extremely fresh and delicious, however there are some things i didnt like, the portions are very small compared to other restaurants and the prices should be bit less as a value to the portions! Also they dont accept international credit cards which is very weird, it was written anyway so i cant complain here! All in all i like it but i would go to nearby restaurants that have larger portions and the credit card is not cool too! But again the food is Delicious!! Service is super fast! If you try it once you wont regret!
MoreThe best kebab I’ve had whilst in Istanbul. If you want authentic food I 100% recommend. We ordered Mercimek Corba (lentil soup, kanat (wings& adana (kofteand WOWW boy am I going to miss this food.Amazing!
MoreThis place needs no introduction. You can see a big poster of Anthony Bourdain as you walk by. It’s a whole in the wall spot where you can get really good kebab wrap/ plate. It is cash only.
MoreFamous kebabs of Istanbul, Antony Bourdain filmed his documentary about the city here. Adana kebab is good, though not the best I’ve tried. The bread served with it is spicier than kebab itself. With the plate they serve a really nice salad with pomegranate sauce. Kebab is 35 liras, which is usual. Service is good but they don’t accept foreign bank cards for some stupid reason.
MoreDurumzade is a MUST visit while in Istanbul. I remember watching Tony Bourdain eat here and I made it a point to stop here for lunch. Nothing fancy just good food all around. I don’t know what they do differently than the competition but their meat tastes better than all the other places we ate. We got mixed platter so we got to try variety of different meats.
