Dunnet Beach - Tourist attraction in Kirkwall, United Kingdom
Dunnet Beach in Kirkwall
Description
Privilege
Nice beach that looked good even in cold December. I would like to see it again in warmer weather when it probably looks even better.
MoreLovely wide open sandy beach, car park right by it. Gentle slope into the sea, didnt get deep too quickly - clean, clear water and the sea wasnt as cold as you might expect!
MoreNice beach!
Stunning arc of white sandy beach backed by rolling sand dunes 😍 Stretching for over 2 miles, the bay is fairly sheltered from the view what creates the atmosphere of inclusive privacy.Facilities on site - carpark, motorhome park, toilets with showers - all nice and tidy! 🤗Perfect place for the whole family or a romantic walk 🥰
MoreVery nice beach and spotlessly clean, toilets close by and rubbish bins, good phone signal
MoreWe enjoyed our stop here. Lovely beach and big waves!
Lovely beach, ideal for walks and dogs.
Sehr schöner Strand mit erfrischenden Wasser
Wide, amazing sunset view, car parking
Wide and clean with easy to park spaces and beautiful views
I love it here. Very scenic with Dunnet head rising in to the distance at the north end. Good spot for a (reasonablydark sky. Nice sandy beach. There is a car park at either end of the bay.
MoreThis glorious beach stretches for about a mile around the sides of a sheltered bay. Car parking is available at various spots but the main car park is towards the Northern end where toilets are also available (at the entrance to the C&MC club site). The dunes are big enough to present a challenge to clamber up. We visited several times in June and there was only ever a handful of people present so the dog could run around excitedly without upsetting anyone. A visit to the community owned forest on the other side of the road is also highly recommended.
MoreLovely beach,great for dog walks
Beautiful and picturesque sandy beach.
Gorgeous beach, great facilities such as parking and toilets. Has a small museum to learn about wildlife. Lovely big ocean, plenty sand for walking, horse riding, etc. Great sand dunes for climbing on. In summer there are large patches of purple flowers. Very nice place to go a walk for a few hours.
MoreClean and usually empty beach with some nice waves, perfect for surfing amateurs
Beautiful sandy beach, glorious weather, perfect place for a paddle, swim or surf (if youre brave enoughor just to walk the dog on the golden sand!
MoreLovely sandy beach perfect for walking the dogs. Sea not too rough and quite shallow. Some pebbles but not all over. Long and peaceful. Only one other walker on it. A must if you are in the area. Free parking too. Recommended
MoreGorgeous beach, expansive at low tide with stunning sunsets.

Lovely long white sandy beach. Well worth a visit. Decent sized carpark just after or before Castletown (pending which direction you are travelling inalso another one in the middle that you can cut across the dunes to the beach. There are a lot of jelly fish just now so just keep an eye if you have a dog

Excellent beach- not much sand left at high water. Long walks through the dunes or paddle in the waves. Great for dogs.

A hidden gem.
Beautiful scenery
Huippuluokan hiekkaranta. Vähän tuli mieleen kuin olisi Californiassa
Beautiful beach, which is large enough to lose the few that visit. Not been in the height of summer, but it is pretty good when its warm. Can be windswept at times, but that doesnt matter to some.
MoreA world class beach in a world class location.
