Dumna Nature Reserve Park in Dindori

Cool place to visit if you like cycling in the wild. Dont expect animals as you wont find any. Also, do check cycle breaks and chain before going all in for cycling as it might stop working half way. The entry charge per person is ₹20 and youll need guide for cycling which costs around ₹100 per group as well as ₹100 for cycle per person

The Dumna Nature Reserve (DNR) of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation is spread over nearly 1800 acres of forested land on a plateau, about 40 meters above Jabalpur town. It was transferred to the Municipal Committee of Jubbulpore by the provincial government to act as the catchment area for the Khandari lake. The construction of Khandari Dam materialized in February 1883 under J.H. Morris, Chief Commissioner of the Central Provinces and Berar. Since then, the forested area provides rainwater to feed the Khandari Reservoir. The place, along with Lower Gaur forest, is described in Captain James Forsyth’s ‘Highlands of Central India’ as a favored place for tiger shoots for British officers.Mammals are the most adaptive species on the planet. They are found on every continent and in every ocean, on land, water and air. There are 5.500 species of mammals found globally, which includes The Blue Whale (Largest), Carnivores like Tiger, leopard etc., Bats, Shrews and so on. Dumna is home to 57 of the 422 mammal species found in Indian Subcontinent, i.e. 13.5% of the total species. As per the evolutionary history, these mammals are classified under 7 ORDER

Best time to visit this place is during rainy season.. and if you want to see the fall then go from Gorabazar side rather than going from Damuna side

In my opinion for couples and for group of friends there in no such place in entire jabalpur.Its a Nature park if you are going solo Dont worry, youll fall in love with nature...so its worth visit for everyone from any age group. its exactly what you looking for.

Good place to be in when the weather is good. Nothing much to do but stroll around . There is a small lake, a restaurant, and a small train which is just a 10 rupee rider. Overall, can visit on a day with good weather , and keep your expections low. End it with a good lunch at the Indian coffee house just at the entry

Good place to roam around, specially in the morning and evening. Dont expect to see animals like a zoo. Monkeys and Langoors are everywhere. The toy train ia a must. Overall you would enjoy the serenity of nature.

I thought this nature park have the osm view points but there is none of places that attracts U .....but serene nd calm environment of park will surely attracts U.....I Think 🤔 The Name of Nature park should be like--- *The Lovers park* 🤣This park isnt good to travel 😕 with family

Lovely place, serene, peaceful and like always, we humans “shit” wherever we go. And it is going through the same problem.If you are lucky you may find “deer” looking at you. Snakes and other animals. Always carry a water bottle (which you can take back), as you will have to do lot of walking. Also if you visit in the morning you will have the option to rent cycles, which you can use to explore the nature reserve.The ticket prices are ₹20 (as of 21-06-22per person, and you will be charged parking of ₹20 (2 wheelerand ₹60 for 4 wheeler.There is also a “Toy Train” inside the reserve area, ₹50/ adult ₹10 for child below 12 years.Please do not throw garbage while in the nature park, and also eat as much as you want before visiting the place, so that you don’t bring “Chips” or other “Snacks”, inside the nature reserve.

Amazing Nature reserve on the banks of river Narmada. The forest coverage on either side was refreshingly speckled with orange- coral flowered trees......thr Palash flowers....these flowers are used for making saffron colour for Holi. This region is known for its week long Holi celebration, the place itself looked festive with a burst of floral colours.The massive Narmada flowing through it...seems quiet and placid, but has an unmatchable gusto a few kms away at the Duadhar Falls. All fauna line up on the banks for a drink at different times of the day. We were lucky to see many spotted deers, peacocks and owls...few lucky ones spotted the lazy large reptiles toasting themselves on the river bank.Land right out of Jungle Book!

Dumna Nature Reserve located airport road. The route from Sadar to Dumna is 8 - 10 kilometers. Best place for nature lovers. Apart from this, the river is the most amazing view there..Picnic spot and best place to hangout with family, friends.

Best place to visit dumna nature park is in the early morning. Nature never disappoint us, you can easily spot some spotted dear, monkeys, peacocks. There is an cafeteria too (ICH).I recommend you bike ride because some parts of it you can only explore by cycling its worth to take ride by far my experience, whole track is about 8-10 km so you can take breaks at view points and enjoy that view. Only concern is the ticket cost it charges 100/- per person with guide 100/- so go in groups. Must visit place near jabalpur

Well maintained place.I spotted a lot of monkeys and a few deers.Entry fee is ₹20 (as on Feb 2022)In the morning you can even rent a bicycle over there at ₹100.Inside there is a restaurant for refreshments. Then there is children’s play park, mini train, dam, large water body, place to relax, photogenic surroundings.It is en route Jabalpur Airport. Lot of parking place is available for 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler as well.You can spend around 30-60min over there. If you take a full round of the premises then it might take you around 90min.

Mini train! Deers! Monkeys! You can go and sit by the water! Its serene. Its romantic if thats what youre looking for. Lots of benches in secluded places, if you want more privacy, but this is a family place, so keep that in mind. Good place for photoshoots too.

Beautiful place with greenery and also if u are lucky u will see some animals. Can go for picnic on a good weather day. Have cafes also for food. Parking also available and toy train also. Parking and entrance is chargeable also toy train ride is chargeable.

Park is located adjacent to jungle area and give you feeling of jungle with Lake and Small toy train ...Well maintained restaurant and garden is ok ...If you are a nature loving person then come and have a visit here ...You can find Deer 🦌 also near by you ...Place that is must to visit for one time or can be a good picnic destination ...

I went here for the first time and really enjoyed it. Nice place to visit if you want to enjoy forest and Lake around. You will see deer, Jackal and Monkeys. Food court options are also good here that one can try. I loved everything here - lots of greenery and fresh air.There is one drawback here. The train that they are running inside the park causing a lot of pollution in the area which could have been avoided.

Amazing place!! If you are a naturelover you must visit as there are deers, peacocks, monkeys and so on and even many different sites for clicking pictures of yourself and your fellows, for kids there are different types of swings too lastly I would say GO AHEAD AND COME ACROSS TO THE REAL BEAUTY OF NATURE

Nice place to spend weekend time..Cafeteria provides good meal which is at the entrance of the reserve. Cycling is very famous activity here,but the Cycles provided at the reserve are not good as you can see in the picture hence this place looses one star from me.There are variuos track ranging from 5 km to 13km stretch.You can bring your own cylce if you have it.The lake is home of around 350 crocodiles as told by the guide.

Peaceful, serene lap of nature. With 9 leopards, 2000 deer and about 300 species of birds, Dumna is a botanical and wildlife hotspot sitting next to a bustling urban area.

Visit this nature reserve park in monsoon and enjoy the lush green forest along with few wild animals. You need serious luck to get a sight of crocodile and leopard. One can also go for cycling in the park. Special cycling trail is present. Kindly note this option is only available till 2pm. If visiting this place in the evening explore via walking rather than any vehicle. Definitely worth it.

A serene and calm getaway from the busy city life, while still being within city limits. Mornings are specially preferred and visitors can witness good fauna during these hours.The interior trail is accessible only using a bicycle and a guide is mandatory to be hired. Visitors can bring their own cycles.The staff is well behaved and guides give ample time while patrons roam in the park.Timing: 6 AM to 6 PM. Monday closed.Vehicle parking fee, park entry fee and bicycle rentals applicable.

You can take cycle ride but you cannot bring your they provides on rent, well maintained cycle track of 12 KM.Theres a restaurant also where you can enjoy several food.5.5 KM from Jabalpur Railway station and it is on the way to airport.You can spot dear, Birds, Crocodiles too. Childrens will love this place.Total area of this Nature Reserve is nearby 1800 acres (as per authorities, which is Jabalpur Municipal Corporationand as per source of govt. this place started to establish from 1883.So overall it is best place to visit and spend your whole day in the lap of nature and the monsoon session is the best time to visit.(all the pictures are clicked in April 2017)

It is a good place near jabalpur, from railway station it is 5.5km, it is on the way to airport, in morning here many cyclist comehere, u can njoi cycling trail here,which is amidst jungle, sightings of deer, wolf is common, on sundays you can njoi, picnic, a mini toy train ticketing 10 rs is wrth, entry ticket is 20 rs for nature resrve, they have cafe called kalchuri cafe, opens at 8.30 am, for children they have, swinging arms, slides etc, soon they have indian coffee house. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great place to have a family picnics along with good food at kalchuri hotel.Dumna nature reserve offers a spectacular view of dumna lake along with great build up of gardens and child play areas all ng with a toy train whose ride is only at 10 rs, your kid will surely love this place.If you are nature lover you can opt for nature trek in bicycle which is around 8 kms trek a guide is also provided since its a pure jungle trek you can hope to see lots of wild animal.Overall a beautiful place to spend your weekdays.

Nothing that impressive. Have a huge lake. You will get some good photographs. We didnt see even a monkey or crow in that total area.But one best thing is, there is a Bicycle track around the entire park. You can get a Bicycle on rent and roam around the entire area on your own following the cycle track.There is entry fees and parking charges.

Recently I have visited here with my college friends. I personally dont like the places however I enjoyed just because of my friends company. If you are planning to visit here with two or three peoples than believe me you will not feel happy at all.Here is nothing to see. Even deer are rare to see. And for summers this place is worst. The grasses are also not maintained wisely. In summer tree are completely leave less which will not give you good feeling.Yes but still if you are planning to visit here than also make a plan to have a trip to Maggi Point which is situated near to Dumna Nature care.For Bike they charge 20 rupees and 10 rupees per person. No Idea for four wheelers.

As per name Nature Park is a natural beauty park, But it looks dry forest. It is good for personal group parties also good for couples. Having 10 rupees entry fee. And extra 100 rupees for cycling if you are interested.

It is a good location for spending some leisure time but work is going on for renovation so there is lot of sound and dust around. Mostly college going couples are frequent visitors to the spark and rarely we see family groups. There is a restaurant where we can have some food. Plastic bags and other food items with plastic are not allowed inside the premises.

Nice forest and nature reserve near city. However animals are rarely seen, bicycle riding is great fun and khandari lake is awesome view. Must visit for all Jabalpur citizens.

Just a fine nature park to be at, i could spot inly monkeys here. Nice place to take loads of pictures and cycling is also available here.Great scenic view near the lake and stairs. Too bug to take a good round, walk around , see different kind of trees and shrubs.Canteen / restaurant also available here, and a small park for kids.

Very nice place for hanging out in the nature or for a forest bath with some friends company or otherwise. You can get entry at a very low price of about 10-20 indian rupees. However if you want to cycle, it charges about 100 bucks per person. I really suggest to do cycling there once, there is a 11 km track with rocky terrain. There are ponds and bridges in the way. One can easily spot a deer, monkey and several birds on the way. Although try that only if you have substantial physical fitness. Because there are varied inclinations in the cycle track. Another thing to mention is that you will be asked to get a guide with you which will charge another hundred bucks per group. There are restrooms inside and a canteen. You are not allowed to take food items inside and if you do they might fine you for five hundred bucks. There is butterfly reserve near the canteen but I am told it is no good. In the term that there are no butterflies there whatsoever. Talking of which, I would recommend to visit dumna in the golden hours of sunrise and sunset because that is the time of least traffic and you can get the best pictures in the best lighting. You might wanna take care of the timing though.

If youre planning to visit Dumna then you will go early around 6am and check outcrocodiles there other wise if you are lucky you see Dear and all. We had great time there. Good for photography and peaceful place. One Good restaurant with cheap rates also inside the Dumna

Perfect place for nature lover where you can see variety of tree, plants, flowers and animals like monkey, deer, crocodile etc. There is separate track for cycling. You can get cycle on rent of 100/-. Whole forest is situated around Khandari lake.

Awesome place to hangout with friends, family or with your loving one. Very big in area and there is a beautiful lake also. So much of greenery and the entry fee is just Rs.10 per person.Views are awesome and it is next to airport so you can also see planes landings & takeoffs so near.
