Amazing architecture with such intricate carvings. Truly a spectacle and provides great insight into the hidden history. We do feel that we are progressive but the carvings here shows how regressive we are contrary to our opinions.

This temple is more beautiful than other some temples because there is also a beautiful park , which is full of nature beauty.

Must visit, most peaceful ancient shiva temple.

I visited these temples many times during 1975 1976 ,and 1977 every time i noticed idols missing or just broke the idols and plundered the Indian history . I feel very sorry about security of these temples , in past muslims rulers destroyed these temples and now days mafia gangs doing same .

Slightly isolated, a lot less crowded, and this temple had a wonderful guide, Ajay Sir. He walked us through the temple and the lives and times of people who made it so beautifully.

Beautiful temple said to celebrate married couples. The gardens here are the best in Khajuraho. The ASI deserves credit here for the work done to lift the experience of the grounds (especially in monsoon). I came close to dusk, but can imagine it would be even more stunning in the morning. Not the grandest or most elaborate temple compared to what is in Western Group but don’t let that stop you. Still incredible architecture and sculptures. But again, the surrounds make it peaceful to stop and enjoy.

Most part of it was ruined by Aurangzeb. It is situated near a small river. The garbh grih of the temple opens on Shivratri. Although locals perform their worship on daily basis from outside. It was built in the shape of rath i.e. chariot. Overall a nice place to see. It would have been wonderful if it was intact.

Dulhadev temple also know as Kunwar math. This shiva temple is the newest among the khajuraho. Slight influence of Deccan and western Indian art can also be seen.

This Shiva temple is traditionally known as Kunwar Matha and notable for being the latest temple of Khajuraho. It belongs to southern group and located at the southern edge of Khajuraho. It consists of a sanctum (without ambulatory vestibule), maha-mandapa and an entrance porch. The temple sikhara is clustered round by three rows of minor sikhara. Its octagonal maha -mandapa shows some peculiarities of design and decoration and it is having the largest span among all the Khajuraho temples, decorated with twenty apsaras-brackets abutting against its corbelled circular ceiling. The original temple can be dated to the early half of the 12th century C.E. and it has been extensively repaired and restore in a later date.

Very Beautiful Temple with Amazing Shiv Lingam.

This east facing Dulhadeo Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Linga.The unique feature of Linga depictions is that it has 999 more Lingas carved all around its surface.It is also known as Kunwar Math, newest temple among the Khajuraho temples.

The temple has intricately carved statues with elaborate details of jewellery. All statues are carved all along this temple of Mahadev. Since it is worshipped by the groom to be, therefore it found itself renamed from shiv temple to DulhaDeo temple. The park around it is a pleasure to the eyes.

1kms from jain temples.Dulhadeo temple is part of the southern group of temples.It is last temple built during chandela period.The main shiv lings have incarved 999 small shivling.Mahamadap is big.Since it is out of the the main western group..people can be seen offering prayers .The temple is on the banks of small river.

Very nice place. Statue linga has minute carvings of shiva linga. There is 100 small shivlinga created in one row of the main linga. And total 11rows . Total 1100+1main shiv linga.Total 1101shiva linga. We get 1101 shiva linga blessings seeing Dulahdev sivalinga

A solitary temple as part of the Southern group of temples in Khajuraho and dated to the 11th Century. The last temple of this group. The architect and sculpture of This temple is not in a good state but archeological Survey of India has tried to maintain it very well...it has a big garden in front. You can get the knowledge of this temple from the guide. But if youre not interested then you can skip this temple .

Khajuraho is one of those places that have to be visited once in life. Has a unique atmosphere and there are many erotic sculptures within the temples. The village is small and cosy and is nice to visit the countryside with a tuk tuk. It gives the idea of how is the Indian rural life

About 2½ km away from the western group of temples. Beside a small stream where human interference is minimal. Not much visitor either. So one can sit here and enjoy both the natural beauty and the architectural wonder

Architecture is awesome but its not mentained perfectly well as its destroying slowly. Its top part is already gone but still good view. Its garden is beautiful and view is good. Its Shiv Temple.

Located about 0.7 km from Jain Temple. The place is quiet and serene by the side of a rivulet. As this temple has recently been taken over by Archaeological Survey of India , maintenance and repair work is still going on but still tourists can visit this temple while visiting the Jain Temples of Khajuraho . This temple is around 900 years old. No worship happens here now. Agarden is being maintained by ASI and is well maintained. Right now entrance to this historic temple is free but in future after all repairs have been done, ASI can impose a nominal entrance fee. ,

Duladeo temple is located south to Jain temple complex. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. Its similar to kandariya mahadev temple and viswanath temple in style. I think this is the biggest temple in eastern group of temples. There is a river which flows nearby and also a well maintained garden around the temple.

In eastern group of temples this is the only temple with a well maintained green lawn.A river flowing beside it makes it more beautiful.Mythology about Shiva and Parvati was married here is popular among local people.Most of the front part of this temple is ruined but a meticulous attempt to make this temple look good is really appreciable. Rear part is bit different than other temples of eastern group and sculpture and statues around temple especially in rear is in good condition and its worth visiting here. Keep exploring.....Happy travelling....

This place was recommended by a local. Clean and calm, also well maintained. Beware of local vendors and also guides they don’t know proper information. I would strongly recommend to visit this place. It contains lots of shivlings. People say like a thousands. It’s well preserved and also a festival is organised once in year.
