Duck Village - Park and Garden in Mosta, Malta
Very cute. Ducks seem to enjoy it and sometimes other animals :)
Don’t come! It’s not here anymore. Just a construction site now. So sad as was looking forward to seeing this!!
very nice place with many animals that can relax in peace. It is not possible to enter it, but from the dock you can observe the ducks in their private beach
Verynice and clean and all of the animals looks well cared for. They need our donations to keep it up.
A fun little duck village to visit with kids.Theres not any interaction with the villagers as its only observable over a chain-link fence.Besides the ducks, there are other animals such as guinea pigs and rabbits running free among the birds (theres geese, chicken and guineafowl as well).
Honestly one of my favorite offbeat tourist attractions I have ever seen, I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I took some photos, but they arent high enough quality so I am going back for better shots. This place is basically a small animal shelter for ducks, geese, guinea pigs, and cats who are living together in seeming harmony in the idyllic island of Manoel right off the shores of Sliema. Its a hodge podge collection of many small buildings and shelters for all the creatures that call it home.
If your close by - it’s worth a little visit - remember ducks love bread
Its a very small and rather run down duck shelter or something of the sort. I think its a good initiative from the local authorities, but wouldnt call it a tourist attraction.
This place is just very fun to visit, the ducks are also friendly and you can also encounter some other animals.
Really cute place with many Animals. Looks like a palace for ducks
Ducks, pigeons, cats, guinea pigs, goose, rabbits everything is living together! We went here 3 times because its so much fun to see all the animals living together!
Nice place to see different type of animals live together
Well... I wouldnt define this as an attraction of any sort. Its cute... Thats for sure. Dont go out of your way to see this really, bit if you happen to be in the area, you can just take a short detour and have a quick look.
Build with love. It is what it is. A little village for ducks and a few other small animals like rabbits etc. Nice to look at and a must-visit on Malta.
Animal lovers could find it interesting. Nothing professional, just an informal space for ducks taken care of by the locals. Still, very interesting and can be fun for the kids.
Its a must see with kids, and bird/animal lovers. Not a large place, just a small section of the marina as you walk to Manoel Island but very unique, and fun sight.
Good too see Ducks abd other livestock
A lot of different birds and ducks... A little bit disorganised and dirty... But its nice to see all the ducks swimming on the sea
Despite what people says about this place, the Animals are followed almost everyday by the owner. We see him during lunch-break taking care and clean the place. If you think you can do better, you can ask Joe to give him an hand to clean the place and feed the Animals. He will be more than happy!
Not really accessible for people with mobility problems. Its very small not very well kept. Good for children if they want to see the odd goose and/or duck
Interesting place in the open air for both adults and kids. Free of charge, but donations are welcome in a special box. There are not only ducks, but also many pigeons, a couple of cats and even some small fluffy friends looking like mouses. If you have some old bread or lettuce - the animals will be grateful for your visit.
Great place to visit. Surprisingly interesting. You can see not only ducks, but goose, cats and guinea pigs all living together. The best is price- free.
a simple magic place ✨. Joe started to build this little corner of paradise four his cute fluffy friends 35years ago and without any economic support.Go to meet them and enjoy! Not only birds but also some adorable Guinea Pigs! You can even bring some food like past, rice etc you are going to throw away. You will make them very happy ! ♥️♥️
Perfect area for the sunrise before the area gets crowded with tourists.
Created by locals to look after local birds, but also includes other birds, rabbits, Guinea pigs and cats. All fed and and cared for with the help of donations by passers-by. All of them peacefully co existing together ❤️
This place is so unique and interesting but also quite run down. It’s filled with geese, ducks, chickens, cats, guinea pigs and other assortment of birds. Because of the nature of the attraction, it also brings pigeons about too. There is also a donation box that helps keep duck village going but judging by the state of the village, I’m wary about it’s authenticity. The village is in need of a major revamping with many signs, decor and structure in need of some TLC, but I can imagine the costs for this probably aren’t covered by the donation box alone. The cats are especially lovely if you’re able to stroke them near the gate. Overall it’s a beauteous place but could incur a higher rating if some renovation is done. Definitely worth a visit as it’s very unique!
Duck village is a cute place for ducks and cats and guinea pig/hamsters can live. I find that it is so lovely that they’ve created this safe haven for them. It is made of old parts of things and what they have. If they had more donations they could make it a lot better and improve the village. Overall I am impressed with their creativity and what they’ve done for the ducks and cats and guinea pigs/hamsters.They are a lot of ducks and pigeons in the first two pens. In the second pen a guinea pig/hamster. In the third pen there are 3 cats, a ginger and white cat, and two brown cats. Unfortunately you can’t enter the pens and touch them or feed them, but if a cat is next to you on I guess you could touch it....
Its not very clean but its okay since it is kind of an animal shelter. The place is cute and I really like the signs
Cute lil duck village, gave small donation. Duck pens could look a little cleaner. Very pigeony
Ducks, geese, chickens, guinea fowl, guinea pigs and cats all living together. Guy that feeds them has a gorgeous dog too, and hes really friendly.
Great to see an area where these animals are being cared for and looked after. Well worth a visit and a donation. Sorry to hear it may be pulled down as the island has been sold for development 😢
Hahahha,, really they make a village for ducks ,nice small rooms for all birds for ducks as well and I like the baby ducks when they follow mom, duck village near to ziira malta
Duck Village a sanctuary for the footloose dwellers that live in the open enjoying the sheltered waters. A community that accepted each other were they live, thrive while they are cared for.It is one of the few urbanized places were children can enjoy various species of fowl, birds, cats and guiana bigs sharing a common place cared for by volunteers.
What a cute animal community. Hehe. If you look from far away, it look like some dumping ground but you actually there, it got the weird random character. Which is somehow cute. Hehe. Saw Guinea pig, Guinea fowl I think, duck, goose, chicken.
Thus place looks great, with a lot of ducks and birds, kind of like a sanctuary.Great for kids and adults alike to see nature.Who ever built this and thought of this is a gem, great work, awesome effort fantastic!!!
A little shelter for a sweet bunch of animals.
A very new concept to me. Have never visited such raw and rustic place before. Good thought behind putting up this place. Few and amazing varieties of ducks can be seen and some of which I havent seen before. Varieties of pigeons, hen, I believe they were rats (very cute onesalso have been preserved quite well with food and water arrangements for everyone.
What a sightseeing spot. I love ducks, so this is a great place to see that they have some sort of "home", although they share it with chickens, geese and other birds (and also cats). Bring some food if you can, although when we were there they got plenty of food, or donate a couple of euros for these birbs!
Its a very cute place. Dont forget to bring some food for them. Even tho they have some there but they like fresh one too. But pigeons and chickens only are very active on food. :D and poor guinea pigs in a place full of trash which made me feel sad by how they look. Please take them to a vet :( they dont look very healthy. Or just find them a family to love them
Wonderful idea. So what smelly and messy, which can be expected in such place, but a great wee place nevertheless :)
Very cute place where ducks, chickens and pigeons live in harmony with the local stray cats! In need of a little tlc but overall well maintained.
Interesting little local attraction that seems a bit out of place among the luxury hires condos & touristy restaurants. Kinda cool and I hope it hangs around!
Lovely place run by donations. Enables a safe and secure home for rabbits, Guinea pigs, chickens, ducks and more. Your welcome to take some food along to feed the animals. Its great to see that now Duck Village is being sponsored which means there is more funding available. As a result it is great to see that the animals are getting a upgrade on their home with everything being repainted and new bits being added. It is also lovely to see that duck village has taken in and rescued many chickens from a caged farmed. It was very upsetting seeing the awful state these chickens arrived in with hardly any feathers and cuts and sores, but over time you can see how quickly they are recovering in there new home. They are now regrowing there feathers back and able to enjoy a happy ever after.
What a wonderful project! Joe looks after all these animals living in harmony and depends on donations of pasta from restaurants and the public´s contributions. I wouldn´t have missed it for the world!
A little quaint sanctuary for various water and land fowl as well as other birds and rabbits. One can feed them or donate money to support the duck village.
A tiny complex of animal houses. Completely random but thats what makes it funny. Not only ducks but geese, all kinds of chicken, rabbits, guinea pigs.
Its amazing how animals can live in peace if you just give them food. Why people cant do that? Unrealistic sight of animals, beautiful gardens just for them, you can feed them and donate for the purpose.
Seriously one the cutest places I have ever visited.
Kind of wired but if you are near by, go and have a look! There are mostly ducks, chickens and birds but also guinea pigs and bunnies 🐰It smells a bit bad and is kind of dirty but the animals seems happy so always fun to stop by, there is also a lot of cats 🐈🐇🐓
Not really a hygienic spot. Bread is constantly fed to the ducks and birds, which I understand is really bad for them. Looks like an arty type has lost the plot and put shells on everything and then stuck it all together to make the coops.
