Dubravka 1836 Restaurant & Cafe - Restaurant in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Nice spot with bayview and next to the city wall. Very good pizza for lunch!
A bit pricey, but the view is worth it. The staff are friendly and attentive. They also give you a 10% discount coupon for the next time you go there, which I found very nice.
Very nice location combined with excellent food and service! Even without reservation! We took the Squid & the Sea bass which were both excellent! The apple pie and cheese cake were also very good!
Really good food. Centrally located and good views of the city walls. Breakfast ends at 11:30 and for lunch the waiting times might be longer. If you want a picture perfect table then reserving in Advance is a way to go. Staff is polite and helpful. Expect to pay at least 60 euros for a meal for two.
Most spots in Old Town are overrated but not Dubravka. We had an excellent breakfast with the best view ever. We had a vegetable omelette, coffee and orange juice and everything was fresh and delicious. The staff is really nice and accommodating! Best experience ever!
Staying at an AirBnb in the old town of Dubrovnik, we had this restaurant in mind for dinner for at least one evening. Tried a reservation up front which they don’t take (were fullBUT they only leave part of the tables up for reservation. Having got the feedback by mail, we tried “ad hoc” and were seated for 2 persons with an amazing view upon the old town walls. The food is not too expensive and the drinks (we had wineare cheap (in regards to other establishments). Food served was an eye pleaser and delicious. Service was fast and very attentive. Would come again, no remarks.
(Vegetarian personLocated right outside of Pile gate, this restaurant offers plenty of vegetarian options! We ordered the truffle ravioli with a nice creaminess and a lot of shaved truffles to enjoy on top! The vegetable risotto was my favorite with plenty of perfectly cooked vegetables to give it a nice amount of “healthiness.” We also ordered freshly squeezed orange juice which is quite popular in the area and an iced coffee (which includes vanilla ice cream!)We ordered a cheese and olive plate for the table and the cheese was absolutely delicious!
Delicious breakfast served with different kinds fresh baguettes. A bit pricey but justified for the view.
Excellent restaurant , no doubt about it.Amazing view.Staff top professional , they take care about every detail.Menu focused above all on Italian cuisine.Pizza and pasta delicious, it looks like being in Italy.High level quality of every dish.It deserves 5 stars .Reservation guaranteed. One of the best restaurants in town.Well recommended.
Not sure if that is their policy, but when you order 2 scoops you get 4. Their pistachio was amazing and Forrest fruit delicious. Would love to try more!
An absolutely fantastic setting, looking out onto the water and the walls of the old town. It is worth a quick bite at lunch or a coffee for this alone. Service was also excellent - friendly and attentive. We had the chicken salad and the sea bass when we visited and the food was very average hence only 3 stars.
It truly is the best view with very good service and tasty selections. We had grilled squid and sea bass, well made. We had less than an hour for our bus and they were very accommodating. The location is perfect too for the entrance to the old city, the beach or the tower.
Stunning view. We had two nights to spend in Croatia and based off of a friends recommendation, we tried this restaurant on our first night. Service was amazing. Our waiter Ivan was kind, helpful, and very consistent. We had such an amazing time at this restaurant and would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Croatia! Food and drinks were delicious and well worth the price.
Great mussels, with tasty tomato sauce and assorted fish plate with real sea flavours. The cherry on top of the cake: our waiter Ivan was super kind, and of course, the view over old town
A warm welcome, but thats about it. No further service from the staffs....maybe because I was only ordering Drinks...btw, drinks are a bit expensive compared to other place you can find during your OLD Town walk
Good food and lovely views. The portions are a little small but the apple pie desert is amazing.
Not officially labelled as vegan, but the vegetarian breakfast is vegan! It had fruit and roasted vegetables and bread and jam. Suitable for vegans.
We were recommended this place by our host and loved it so much we came twice. Iva the host was so wonderful! We were able to get a table by the water and relish in the stunning views and delicious food. (Over the course of two different dinners …We ordered the feta salad, the salmon with dill dish, the mussels, grilled vegetables).
3 of us visited here last night for dinner. Amazing food and drinks! Atmosphere was brilliant with live chilled music and fans to cool us down! Service was great, our server gave us a good recommendation for an Irish bar! Which was great! Highly recommend visiting here! Many thanks to our server - spotted us Irish straight away! 😂
We were seated straight away and taken to a part of the restaurant with the best view of the old walls. Mario served us and was brilliant. Even took time out to take a photo for us. Food was great. Service was exceptional. Really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend. Ask to be seated near Mario. You won’t regret it
It was good place to see ocean!!Nice view and food♡Staffs of here was so kind as well.
We had dinner here on our recent trip to Dubrovnik. We had previously had dinners here when last time we visited so this time we booked well in advance. It’s a spectacular place to watch the sun going down over the old city walls while enjoying your dinner and drinks. Amazing customer service and I can’t recommend this place enough.
Wonder breakfast omelette with asparagus and prosciutto and a delightful espresso lungo “come in Italia”! Exceptional service, attentive and friendly, lovely atmosphere and stunning views of Lovrjenac Fortress. Oh and they give a 10% discount for those with a Dubrovnik card, though for full disclosure I didn’t know about that when I decided to have breakfast there. Come before 9am to beat the morning rush though;)
The location and atmosphere are amazing, as well as staff - they were really nice and professional. We had an octopus salad which was good and a pizza which was solid, but the crust was too much bread-like and not what you would expect taste-wise and texture-wise when eating a typical pizza. But overall, it is a really good restaurant and definitely worth a visit and coming back!
Had a really lovely time here and the food was absolutely delicious! Portions are a bit on the smaller side for a big guy like my partner, but was filling enough for me. Fish was very fresh and tasty and the wine as well. Super busy, but moves very fast so you can easily find a table even as a walk in. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Prices are also very reasonable. Would highly recommend!
I went for lunch straight from the beach which is just beside. One of the waiters was totally disrespectful to me in the second I stepped in, he didn’t even say “hi” or “welcome”, he was just starring at my body and asking in a very rude way to cover my bust (I was wearing a loose long dress). To add injury to insult, the food was totally overpriced. Tiny portions and absolutely tasteless. It was my only bad experience in Dubrovnik, but it was another level of a bad experience: the worst!!
Quick and tasty breakfast with excellent service and gorgeous surroundings. We got the mozzarella and tomato & vegetable omelettes - both great. These came with bread and a selection of jams and spreads. The fresh orange juice is delicious and the coffee is very good too. I got a baileys coffee, which was perfect!
My boyfriend had salmon with dill sauce with a side dish of potato/ spinach and an apple pie desert, and I had a tomato soup and a greek salad. They got 4 stars because of the greek salad which I do not recommend. The rest was very delicious and we recommend them, and the service was very good as well.
Great cocktails! Probably the best spot in town, an altogether excellent dining experience. Good service, great food, stunning views. Lots of variety for everyone! Well be back for sure.
Very nice restaurant with a large outdoor patio area with great views of old town Dubrovnik. The food was very good even though I was only there for lunch.
I love a surprise. Perhaps with the exception on a first date, or most birthday presents. In fact, I guess I dont really like them much. But this place is by the bus stop and smells of tourist trap, from the stiff waiters outfits, all the way down to the service style which is about half as old as the fort city itself. Thing is, all the food is really good. And the veg sides are the best in town. Service is trés bistro manic, and the prices high, but not enough to give pain where pleasure is deserved.
Unfortunately a very weak restaurant. A place based on typical mass tourism, where the location compensates for the quality of the food. Poor serving, tasteless food (slightly salty). There was little Aperol in Aperol spritz, the mussels were salty, the squid cold. Very far from fine dinning.
Beautiful view and nice location, went twice service was great both times! Last occasion we were served by Nikola he was very kind and friendly, explained local cuisine and explained in detail about the wine. Food very good.
Amazing view, service and food! Loved it, been there two times and will definitely go again when visiting Dubrovnik!
Nice and fast breakfast, great view, and good service! We had a nice breakfast here. The view was amazing. Sunny side-up eggs and the omelette were cooked perfectly. Service was also very good.
The food was delicious to say the least. The views were amazing, and the service was great! The employees were very friendly and attentive. We went for dinner the first time, and we had:- Seafood risotto for starter (delicious)- spaghetti bolognese- grilled beefsteak with grilled veggies- chef’s beefsteak with gratinated potatoes- Dubrovnik creme caramel for dessert (delicious!)Everything was so good, we went the next day and had breakfast:- ham and cheese omelette- mozzarella and tomatoes omelette- iced coffeeDefinitely recommend eating here if you’re not on a budget. Don’t expect low prices, as you are paying for quality food :)
Located near the entrance of the Pile gate where all the busses from the cruises stop to drop off the people. That should have given me a clue but it was recommended by one of our guides so gave it the benefit of the doubt. Should have listened to my intuition, the food looks great but not tasty. Made more for the masses. The Napolitano pizza looks great but had no flavor. The seafood tagliatelle was the same. I mean its ok to eat but dont expect flavorful food. Service was good though for being a busy place. Prime location with a view. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Clean bathrooms. Best for a drink or coffee than food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menu at this location.
Way, it is am amazing place. Delicious food. Very fresh food. Not first time here. Tried different options (pizzas, soups, salads, pastas, risotto, coffee, fresh juices, wines- all is excellent. Also good desserts.Very friendly waiters, always smile. The personal gives a lot of attention, can gives recommndethions. We will come again. Here you can really relax in the centre of old town of Dubrovnik. And the view of the sea is also beautiful! Have a tasty food in soo gorgeous place....thank you!
We had a nice time at this restaurant. The food was a little overrated especially for the price but the views at this restaurant are amazing. I recommend eating here at night because the walls are lit up and theres a great view from any table outside. We had a variety of items from the menu and it was all ok but the beef steak I ordered was over cooked and really tough. Disappointed because its one the most expensive items on the menu. Server was nice and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our dinner here.
Its a nice place with a beautiful ocean view. But the price is kind of expensive...every restaurants in Dubrovnik. However, the food was good. We tried seafood risotto and grilled squid. If you like seafood, and risotto, try this out.
Very nice restaurant with amazing view over stone walls of Dubrovnik. Seafood risotto was great. Would come again for this dish alone. Our main courses were grilled squid and fish platter. It was very nice. We had baked potato and cooked chard with potato as our side dishes. The second side dish is very typical for Dalmatia and it goes amazing with seafood. Add a little bit of olive oil and it tastes even better. House wine Plavac was nice as well. Apple pie with ice cream rounded our entire experience :)
Location, location, location. Amazing views of the city walls. Food is just ok, at best. Salty and overcooked. Mussels were decent but not great. Chef Beefsteak was over cooked but the pepper sauce was tasty. Order the house white by the liter, it’s dry, tasty, and well priced. Service is attentive.
Great terrace, waiters were nice and professional. Ive tried Mussels Buzzara Style, very tasty meal (I ordered rice to eat with cause shells are huge and finally there isnt so much to eat). Chocolate and nuts cake was amazing.
What a nice place! Friendly service and high quality food. While there are many tourists, it does not feel as crowded as some of the other places. Priced a bit higher, but you sure get the value in return! Can highly recommend.
Amazing food. This was the best squid I’ve had in my life. Very impressive view as well, and wonderful wait staff. We went here twice with large groups, and they were able to accommodate us, no problem.
I start with fact that I was very dissapointed with Croatian cuisine - it`s nothing in comparsion with Greek or Italian cuisine, of course. This restaurant aspires to be very elegant and has professional and kind service (and very long queues in the evening after 19.30 so if you want to find a table be there at 19.00 not later), BUT... The food was good but not so exceptional or special in this restaurant. The portions are ridicolously small - every time I ordered more expensive main dish I received much smaller portion than my wife, who ordered appetizer risotto or pasta. Waiter said it`s whole grilled calmari with tentacles - no it wasn`t. Like on photo below only heads without tentacles, portion ridicolously small. Bread and dessert saved me and I didn`t walk away hungry. Very good cheese cake! Sea bass fillet - again portion ridicolously small. Risotto with sea food good and enough for main dish for lady. Generally the food is good but nothng exceptional and portions are very small. Good and polite service. Advantages: beautiful view and it`s calm place not so crowded with turists.
Very nice restaurant just outside the main walls of old town. Ate there twice. Early and late dinners. Everything was very good. The service was efficient and very friendly. The views are spectacular. There’s a sea view from the terrace. The apple pie with ice cream was amazing.
Great place in the middle of the action, great atmosphere, we stop by to get a coffee and we end up with a lot more, ordered pasta to try but we found an amazing dessert, if you are an apple pie lover you MUST try this delicious apple pie. Great view with an mazing service as well
We had a lovely lunch on top of the docks here. Great ambience, professional and kind service and of course: great food.We had the Botanico di Dalmatia. A gin based cocktail with a very botanical and fruity taste, very good!We had the seafood risotto as a starter. The portion was a bit too much for my girlfriend as a starter, but it delivered on the flavors. Wow! One of the best risottos Ive eaten, and Ive been in Italy many times. After that we had the king prawns. Four big shrimps in their shell, swimming in this deep tomato and capers sauce, just amazing! Our waiter gave us a discount card to use at their other restaurants, which was a real thoughtful gesture!Definitely a place to eat in Dubrovnik!
Excellent food, very high quality. Restaurant is overlooking the sea. Romantic atmosphere. Very attentive & friendly waiters. We didnt have any reservation but were immediately shown to a very nice table next to the sea. We will definitely come again.
