A great childrens museum in Naperville. It has reasonable rates and convenient hours of operation. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially with younger children exploring the exhibits. Not nearly as busy as a lot of the downtown Chicago locations, if youre looking for a place that is good for children with a little less chaos! A worthwhile visit for sure.

Definitely the place to bring kids to when they need to work off some energy. We had brought our children here for many rainy days. Can get a little packed, but its a large facility. They offer semi private party rooms also, and the staff has been consistently friendly, supportive and welcoming.

Weve brought the grandkids here a couple of times over the years and they have always had a good time. Never felt crowded even though the large parking lot was nearly filled because there are sufficient number of hands-on exhibits spread throughout the facility keeping all the kids busy and engaged. Staff continually circulate cleaning and reassembling the components of the play areas to ensure the kids have whats needed to have a good time, whether its buildingblocks, Legos, markers, or multi-colored scarves flying through air infused plastic tubes. Weve taken the kids to the Kohl Childrens museum in Glenview and Chicagos on Navy Pier, but keep asking to come back to the DuPage Childrens Museum and always have fun.

Everyone was so wonderful and this place is amazing! Our son loved it and it was the best choice for a birthday party! Bean Sprouts Café was so great, the food was awesome and affordable! The staff here are so friendly, helpful, great with anything needed. We loved the museum and all the interactive activities the kids can do. We will definitely be back! Cannot recommend enough!

My husband and I took out 6 year old granddaughter and she was bored by most of what was there. In my opinion no child older than 5 may be excited by the exhibits. Several things were not working and that was additionally disappointing. Really one level of things to do. Not sure how we spent two hours there.

I loved my visit so much, I signed up for a membership before I left! The space is clean, visually engaging, and reflects inclusive practices. The museum should especially be proud of its staff. Every volunteer and staff member was helpful, cheerful, and engaged with the kids. Their love of kids really reflected in every interaction I had; from the staff at the front desk, in the cafe, to those engaging kids in the exhibits. My 18 month old enjoyed this space so much! He has the attention span of a caffeinated moth, yet refused to leave one area of the museum for two hours. We barely got through half the museum, and I left with a sleepy and happy toddler.

I’m grateful I called before driving the hour and a half to get there to be denied entry because my 3 year old level 3 autistic son will not stand a mask. My family is vaccinated and I’m not an anti-masker but I’m disappointed because my son doesn’t like many places because of his sensory issues, so I was excited to bring him somewhere made for children like my son. We can go to Walmart with no masks, but 1 child out of 4 people not wearing one is forbidden in a children’s museum? Bizarre.

The children’s museum was the perfect recommendation from one of our friends who lives in the area. Our girl absolutely loved the first floor of interactive hands-on exhibits. Museum is large enough where no one area felt over-crowded and diverse enough to hold interest of our young ones. Ihighly recommend this museum.

I had a great experience with my son who turn one when we went today. It was quite easy to figure out how to order tickets and to get our tickets and how much it was going to cost per person and what time that you could go in and its a great bonus that you can stay from the time you get there all day long until they close. For $15 a person if you dont have the membership its a great activity to do for the family. We will definitely be back soon!

My 18 month old had the absolute best time!! We were there for 2 hours and hadn’t even exhausted the main level. Stroller friendly for younger kids too. The cafe was amazing as well. Gluten free friendly! We will certainly be back. And like another review said, it was very helpful to bring a change of clothes for after playing in the splash area.

If it weren’t for my 3 kids and ruining their excitement about coming here, we would have been in the parking lot faster than the guy finished telling me they still require masks. Absurd. I love the other comments though, lots of Naperville housewives that are really proud of this stance so I’m not surprised they’ve gotten away with it.

First of this is a great place to explore and learn with your children, and a lot of fun for them.At this time I rate the experience with 1 star because after the plandemic hysteria suddenly vanished they still enforce masks.

Have brought my daughter here at least 10 times and she always loves it. Its a great place to bring young kids to get some energy out and let them be creative, especially in the winter when its hard to go outside. However, I have to say that as of my most recent visit in April 2022, the exhibits on the 2nd floor seemed messy, unorganized, and confusing. I could not understand the theme of what was going on on the 2nd floor and neither could my daughter...we got off the elevator and it was chaos, with kids jumping on foam pillows of some sort right in front of the elevator doors. My 6 year-old actually said, "its loud and messy up here, and theres nothing for me to do. Lets go downstairs". I heard another mom say, "I have no idea whats going on up here."The 2nd floor used to have kids artwork, musical instruments, a see-saw, and an interactive screen where it looked like the kids were playing in a band. My daughter loved that and it was much more organized and easy for kids to find something to do. Id recommend that they go back to something like that on the 2nd floor, instead of the confusing mess that exists up there now.

Found out after promising my son a trip today that they are still requiring masks. I am not an anti masker. I have had COVID myself and lost my mother to COVID.I understand when masks were necessary and dealt with the limits to where we could take my son at that time. However, my son has autism and with the requirements being lifted everywhere, even school, he no longer will tolerate putting a mask on. I called to ask when the requirement would be lifted and it was explained that one day a month children like my son can come without wearing a mask. If my son was in a wheelchair and could only come once a month due to the museum being unable to accommodate him in a wheelchair, they would be all over the news. But its autism, so I guess no one cares. So one day a month, during a specialized time for children with autism he is welcome, otherwise my five year old son isnt welcome because of an inability to tolerate a mask. If the mandates were still in place, I would understand. But at this point, this is obviously discrimination. But thats ok. The Field, Museum of Science and Industry, the Shedd, Enchanted Castle, Funflatables, the Art Institute, nd the Chicago Childrens Museum do not require them. We will simply take our business to where my child wont have to deal with staff enacting extra rules that make it impossible for children with autism to participate.

We booked tickets online the night before and it is worth getting there on time, parking lot gets full and takes time to find a spot. Once inside, the only challenge is keeping up with the child! We really appreciated the little respite room where we could take a break from the sensory overload. If your child is on the spectrum and is a sensory seeker then this place has a lot to offer. The cafe is now open and offers fresh cooked healthy meals, they even cut the grilled cheese to look like a monster.. With cold weather this place seems to be very popular and will be busy so come ready. They have a big coat and stroller room as you enter. A separate area for kids under 2.. The water play area is a toddler magnet so bring a change of clothes if your little one likes to splash. They have two big birthday party rooms in the cafe area.. Over all a great place to bring little ones!

I will no longer bring my children here. We do not believe in discrimination and/or segregation. How dare you mandate children to be vaccinated to enter your facility? This place is beyond hypocritical and absolutely disgusting. Even when this mandate is lifted I will not be returning. Not to mention the last time I came to this location before this vaccination mandate took place, it was extremely dirty and a lot of the attractions were broken or had missing items. Extremely disappointed and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Great museum for younger kids. Membership is extremely worth it. My 2 yr old comes almost every week and always finds something new to do. He can spend all morning here. The museum is more geared for younger children. I’d say by age 8 - 9, most of the play areas and concepts are too simple. It would probably get boring fast for those older kids.Since our family and our nanny are vaccinated like sane people who don’t use vaccines as a political statement, we are able to continue to enjoy coming here every week :great museum

Its one of the bigger children museums in the suburban area which is great. Wonderful place that I take my son to in order to get out of the house. I was able to get membership now especially because I want to visit weekly with him. He loves it and gives him a chance to put around other toddlers/parents and in a safe environment which gives me a peace of mind. I am thankful when organizations look to the health and future of humanity more than monetary gains they might lose. My family and I appreciate it.

My son absolutely loved it here, we can’t wait to go back soon. Such a kid centric environment, and absolutely so much fun for kids of all ages! Also, I’m so happy to hear that all the antivaxxers are no longer being allowed to spread their sicknesses all over the place. Makes me want to go there again even more.

My son loves the Childrens Museum! We have a membership, which saves us a lot of money since we go regularly. His absolute favorite spot is the water and bubbles area. (Bring a change of clothes if youre little loves water play as much as mine does! The Young Explorers areas (for babies & toddlershave been redone recently, and they did a wonderful job. The rotating exhibits upstairs are always fantastic. We havent gotten to check out the new Questioneers exhibit, but were excited to see it. Im so grateful we have such a fantastic place for kids to play and learn nearby!

Well with a doctors note and a documented medical condition, we were asked to leave because he can only wear a face shield. We made sure to go early so there were limited people there. After speaking to the president of the Dupage Childrens museum, I was told I didnt have to come if I didnt want to and that they can refuse to allow us with the shield. She said we can use the adaptive day which is once a month. Try telling that to a 5 year old who has already been on lock down for 2 years. I have five kids so were usually flying by the seat of our pants. We try and go when we can. I hope they realize that healthy children includes mental health also. We will be letting friends and family know how we were treated.

The first floor is filled with scientific entertainment that my children, 7 - 13 enjoyed immensely. The second floor seemed to be an all out bust. My kids spent about 15 minutes, shoulders and heads drooping, searching for entertainment value or anything if interest. In total, they got about 1.75 hours of entertainment. I guess I had higher expectations for the price. Im happy we went once but Im basing my rating on:1: it would never occur to us to go again2: it would never occur to me to recommend to a friend.

Plenty of activities appropriate for kids ages ranging from 10 months to 8 years old. Our 9 year participated but worked through the stations quickly. Love the art connections, theming, and gallery of paintings/sculptures. My 5 year old loved it! Her favorite part was scrubbing the floor near the water station. The menu at the cafe was fun and thoughtful regarding allergies.

This is the best children’s museum in the Chicagoland area. We belong to the Kohls children’s museum in Glenview but it is very dated. Our membership granted us access for 1/2 off to Dupage. Our two year old loved it so much, and I even think our 11 year old liked it too, though he would never admit it. 😊

Came here on a Friday morning which we were actually able to park this time. Tried to come here previously but couldnt find parking anywhere!! After we got here we noticed school buses so realized there was a field trip going on which was disappointing. Once we got inside we only had to wait a minute to be helped so we thought maybe it wont be too busy inside. We were wrong!!! The kids that were there with their parents were well behaved and played nicely. BUT the kids there on the field trip were running around everywhere and jumping all over everything. If they werent there I think we would have had a better longer experience. About after 2 hours our son asked to leave, which was disappointing because we didnt even go to all the levels. Everything in there was nice, clean, and updated so we appreciated that. Well most likely be back, just hopefully when there isnt a field trip going on.

Best money spent! We got the membership after visiting one time. If you do the calculation, you break even after 3 visits. Not only that, but you get reciprocal entree to other local museums which we used to our benefit. But back to DCM, it is so cute and fun for families with little. Everything is interactive and at the kids eye level. My kids disperse the moment we go inside. Remember to bring extra clothes if you go to the water station!
