We arrived at the castle at 2pm and from the time we arrived the gentleman at the door took our car put it on charge and then parked it up .The receptionist was so cheerful and helpful. The bar men/woman were fantastic we went to the gallery for lunch .We went to room the linchquinn state room was incredible everything was catered for ,way more than 5 star .We had dinner in the dinning room and was met by the manager who was so nice and attention to detail listened to us as we were there for anniversary and at the end of a delicious tasting menu which was incredible and well worth it he produced a cake which we took home and devoured.Breakfast next morning was fabulous everything you could think of .I really could go on about this most wonderful place and the staff made it exceptional .If I could go away once in the year it would be here .Martina and colum fox
Everything was absolutely amazing! The room was immaculate and had everything you could ever ask for or need. We order room service for dinner and breakfast, the food was fantastic. I loved the scones, the best I have ever had. (Something so simple but so good!We took a morning walk around the grounds and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I cant wait to come again next year.
Very very beautiful hotel inside and out. Good for picture. I highly recommended.👌
Had afternoon tea. Very attentive & helpfull staff. Highly recommend.
This hotel has to be in the top five Irish hotels. Beautiful castle set on superb gardens with adjacent golf course. Food, staff and entertainment all top class
Lovely place. Beautiful view and very family friendly people.
My husband and I stayed here one night on our trip in Ireland and are upset we couldn’t stay longer! The room was comfortable - the bed was incredibly comfortable. We had dinner at the Earl of Thomond restaurant and the food and service was amazing! Hugh was so kind and friendly with us and we really enjoyed the sommelier as well. We had a cute carriage ride around the gardens in the morning after a huge breakfast spread! Afternoon tea was the highlight of our stay by far! Highly recommend all of it!!
My husband and I stayed here recently, and we ate in the clubhouse restaurant, main restaurant, and had afternoon tea.Overall, the stay was excellent. The room was fantastic, and as it was my birthday, they left a little treat in the room with a note to say happy birthday. The first night, we ate at the clubhouse. As I was pregnant, I made it clear repeatedly that I couldnt eat any undercooked meat. Even after this, I was served a very pink burger. While it did get rectified and I was given a new burger, my husband had to eat without me or his food wouldve gone cold, and then i had to eat alone after. However the staff were incredibly apologetic and did their best to sort it all out.The next night, we ate in the main restaurant. The meal was absolutely exceptional. The setting of the restaurant was very sophisticated, and the food itself was delicious. After the meal, the harpist played happy birthday, and the staff brought out a surprise cake. It was so large, we couldnt finish it and had to bring it back to the fridge in the room. The afternoon tea is one of the better ones. You can have as many teas as youd like, and can ask for more of anything, not that you need it. The afternoon tea is very generous, and you can take any leftovers home. I also like that the scones are kept aside until youre ready, so theyre nice and warm. The setting of the room is very nice too.We also availed of breakfast, and it was very well managed and again, plenty of food. There was another minor issue with oir room service order but again, it was fixed immediately.Even with the small issues we had, Im giving the hotel 5 stars. The staff went above and beyond to fix the issues for us and really couldnt do enough to make it up to us. Emma in particular really looked after us.Well definitely be back again.
Is there globally a better venue anywhere? Just completed our 3rd visit and stay @ Dromoland Castle and this time for our wedding! Mark and his team should be immensely proud of the entire estate. Just want to pop some extra thanks out to Margret from the Weddings team and Eamonn at the Golf club for giving us some extra special help over the last two years. Thanks all
Beautiful Castle, brilliant service, Afternoon Tea was a hit with everyone in attendance. We all left contented.
We went for afternoon tea here in June! What a gorgeous place. We were waited on by lovely people and given scrumptious food and drink. I wish we could have stayed but we were on a schedule!
My recent stay at Dromoland Castle was a wonderful and amazing experience. The grounds are magnificent and the food and accommodations are outstanding. The staff are so nice, too: professional but not stuffy.I highly recommend!!
Spa was amazing. Staff lovely and friendly, treatments very luxurious, would definitely recommend. Unfortunately restaurant in golf club was very disappointing. Poor service, no toilet paper in ladies, food that was ordered not received, tried to pass off spaghetti as chinese noodles! Unfortunately we were the wrong nationality. If youre an American tourist youll get excellent service as did the other american restaurant patrons.
Still one of my favorite places to stay in Ireland. Beautiful property all around with great amenities for the whole family. We usually put this at the end of our trip because of its proximity to Shannon Airport.
Afternoon tea there, absolutely fabulous. Totally enjoyed and made more enjoyable by the attitude of the staff who were so friendly and courteous. Top marks
Dromoland Castle exceeded my expectations. They have a beautiful location staffed with the nicest, most helpful people. I saw a pretty bride while checking in so I knew my luck was good! The Hawk Walk was so interesting and enjoyable. The aviary staff was knowledgeable and the short hike was just lovely. The pond we saw during that Hawk Walk is a magical gem. Thank you for a memorable visit. Highly recommend.
Best experience we had in our entire 10 days trip in Ireland. Incredible service, place, quality of the food. We’ll come back.
Wow! What a truly amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience!! I stayed 4 nights to attend friends wedding. If there is one place you want to splurge on in Ireland, this should be it. The staff really make the experience special and are willing to bend over backward to accommodate you.A big shout out to Noreen (one of the managersfor all her excellent help. If I were hiring, Id try to hire her away!!
This hotel was the most amazing experiences Ive had at any hotel. Also, its a castle from the 1500s. I cant even explain it, its one of those things that you have to be there to experience. If you can make it, do it and dont worry about the money. When you leave, that experience will be with you forever and overtake any cost by far. If you cant, you will always wish you had gone.
This place is up there with all the best 5 star hotels. The character and the warm welcome from the staff make it stand out from other luxury hotels I have stayed at. The history tour brought the castle to life. I’m not interested in history and usually find it quite dull but this was different. It felt like Ireland’s history was so interlinked with this castle. Amazing. My wife and I stayed all weekend and didn’t feel the need to leave once. Afternoon tea is wonderful. We could not eat for the rest of the day after it. I talked baking with one of the staff and ended up getting the recipe for the scones. I have since cooked them at home and they work a treat every time even if they are not as pro as at Dromoland. We jogged and cycled the grounds. The gym is well equipped and we relaxed in the thermal suite. Dinner was such an elegant affair. A harpist in the corner and the room was dimly lit with lots of candles everywhere making it so atmospheric. Food was divine and fancy without being overly pretentious. I was on Cloud 9. I would give this 10 stars if I could. I enjoyed every second and much of that was driven by hard working staff who really do try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Well done Dromoland and thank you for such an enjoyable time.
Very very nice place, friendly helpfull staff, I picked up some guests from here, they were delighted with the service and would definately be staying again.
Dromoland is one of the nicest places to stay in Limerick if not on a budget. The grounds of Dromoland are beautiful well a gold course within the castle grounds. Also loads of fantastic opportunities for photos.
This is a beautiful estate with walled gardens, a small pond and gorgeous rooms. An old world style castle with beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and lavash bathrooms. Their dining was exquisite and opened us up to trying different things. Even their morning breakfast was extraordinary. The staff made the stay even more delightful with their knowledge, smiles and kindness. I would definitely stay again.
If I could give Dromoland castle more than 5 stars I would. We stayed for two evenings with our children. We had connecting rooms close to the main entrance. The rooms were spotless & had the most comfortable beds. The bathrooms and the rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The estate itself is stunning with a golf course and walking path. They also have complimentary bikes for use along with other activities that you can book in advance for an extra fee. We unfortunately did not realize we needed to schedule ahead of time but you can experience archery, falconry, etc. The breakfast was incredible with a variety of choices. The individuals that work here are so attentive to details and are very friendly. One of the evenings we spent in the drawing rooms while a gentleman sang and played guitar. The fireplaces were lit and we had a delicious chocolate dessert and evening tea. The location was close enough to The Cliffs of Moher that we drove our rental car there for the day and back. These two nights were our favorite part of our two weeks in Ireland and Scotland. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have spent my entire week at this castle instead of moving to other areas. If you have the opportunity to stay here don’t think twice just hit the book button.
Dromoland Hotel is in a league of its own. 5 stars does not cover it and if you ever get the opportunity to experience it you will understand. Everything is exceptional, it is over and above top class. Ive stayed in many 5 star hotels and I can honestly tell you that nowhere comes anywhere close to Dromoland Castle Hotel. Not even close! The staff absolutely make it, they are all truly amazing humans and amazing at what they do. We have stayed in several different types of rooms at Dromoland Castle, and all have been exceptional. We also did a Hawk Walk and Clay Pigeon Shooting, both of which were so fun, with the loveliest and most informative instructors. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We got married here in May of 2022 so my wedding review is below. Dromoland is the most beautiful wedding location with stunning views for photographs and interior spaces for drinks and dinner. I cannot thank the entire wedding team at Dromoland enough. After having to postpone our wedding several times due to the pandemic, we finally got our day and the sun shone for us, as did the entire Dromoland team! Every little detail was looked after so well.We planned our wedding with Susan and Margaret. I have two young children so was not on top of the wedding planning but there was really no need for me to be because Susan and Margaret are amazing! No small detail was overlooked and they were the best communicators. Emails were replied to within hours. They made wedding planning an absolute breeze. On our day, I asked my bridesmaids to take care of some last minute details on some of the tables but when they arrived to the hall, it was all already done. I felt like I had a fairy godmother quietly looking after us through the day.One of our sons was unfortunately sick on the day, he came down with a bug which started to make him feel ill during the ceremony. As soon as we arrived at Dromoland, all of the staff were there caring for him, making sure he was ok, calling the doctor for us etc. He stayed in our suite during the dinner with our babysitter and the wedding team checked in with him periodically to let us know how he was doing as we were tied up with all the wedding things. It really was such peace of mind for me and I truly felt like we were taken care of by the most genuine and sweet people. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart for everything you do, you truly make a difference and you made our day a wonderful one.
The magnificence of the property is matched only by the pure delight that comes from having the 5 porters take care of your needs during your stay. Two of the porters have combined for more than 70 years of service at this property. Just think about the pride they must have for the service they provide. It is simply hard to imagine. To the entire staff at Dromoland Castle Hotel —well done and thank you.28 June 2022
Weve had two experiences here in the last six months, the first was afternoon tea which was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible, the food was delicious and the room was beautiful. The second was a massage at their spa. Wow, what a treatment! So professional. Felt super relaxed after and so appreciated the extra touches in the changing room of the products to use. Will be back!
We enjoyed a wonderful stay. The service was wonderful, The rooms were great. The grounds were really beautiful. But the castle was really the star of the show.
Visited for Afternoon Tea.The service and food were excellent. Our waitresses were attentive and polite.Room temperature a little cool.
Dromoland was great. Service was excellent and Tara at front desk was a godsend. She helped us with COVID paperwork. Breakfast was great and grounds were gorgeous.
Staff was great. Place is severely overpriced though. Cocktails are priced way to high along with the food. Views are incredible and like I mentioned before the staff is awesome.
My wife and I, and our two young kids stayed at this magnificent castle in April 2022 and it would be impossible for me to fully capture how pleased we were with our experience. We were immediately greeted to a room upgrade overlooking the serene lake on the castle grounds which made for a lovely welcome. My kids thoroughly enjoyed walking the property, observing the wildlife, participating in the falconry, go-karts, archery, and the indoor playroom at the inn. The guides were extremely patient and great about ensuring everyone was included in the activities. My son and I enjoyed walking around the interior of the castle in search of spooky phenomenon, but our imaginations had to suffice because all we encountered was a beautifully decorated, warm and inviting dwelling complete with delicious food, prompt room service, and wonderful staff. My wife and I were even able to secure a babysitter for an evening so that we could sample the cocktail bar offerings and enjoy a fancy meal. Our trip was made complete with a drive to the Cliffs of Moher which resulted in great pictures and memories. All in all, we could not have been happier with this family vacation on the Emerald Isle, and we sincerely hope to return in the not-so-distant future.
Dromoland is probably the most upscale hotel I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive, the staff goes out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and taken care of. We stayed in one of the Queen Anne rooms as we wanted to stay in the oldest section of the castle. The room was beautiful and spacious. We only had time to stay for one night but we tried to make the most of it by scheduling an archery session and hawk walk, which we both really enjoyed. In both cases the trainer/guide was friendly and passionate about what they do. We enjoyed sitting in the drawing room next to the fireplace while listening to the musician in the evening. Definitely an amazing stay!
The Falconry experience was amazing. Davey was informative, friendly and patient. For nature lovers, or people fascinated by birds, it was a wonderful experience.
We had a wonderful afternoon tea, the cakes and sandwiches were delicious, as was the wonderful choice of teas. The staff were polite, friendly and courteous. Had a great time in beautiful surroundings.
Incredible location. Everything was spotless and staff were extremely accommodating.Leave yourself time to do some of their activities, clay shooting and falconry were fantastic.Cocktails at the bar were the unexpected star of the weekend for us!
Dromoland Castle Hotel deserves 7 stars if there was such a category. It is at least two stars above other five star hotels in Ireland. The staff in every area of the hotel are exceptional. The rooms are magnificent. The Spa treatment experience is wonderful. The dining experience from breakfast, Afternoon Tea, and dinner was incredible. The wine pairings, menus, ambiance, and personal touch was flawless. No detail is missed by management and staff. We had a wonderful time and felt like we were in a magical and enchanting other realm. It is a national treasure not to be missed.
I have never been so excited or overwhelmed by a hotel stay. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the bedrooms are modern and comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay at Dromoland to anyone! Cant wait until I return to Ireland again!
Fabulous parkland golf course. The boating Lake has been cleared recently which leaves a very open vista. Beautiful wooded walks. I saw falconry in progress. A wedding party. Golf . And I could hear clay pigeon shooting. There was also archery.
Without a doubt, this was one of the greatest hotel stays we have experienced. The service was top notch. The property is beautiful and rooms are wonderful. 10/10 for every aspect of the stay.
What an amazing experience! The castle is beautiful and elegant in how it has been renovated. The rooms were lovely with comfortable beds. We stayed in the main castle and enjoyed a lake view with sunsets. The grounds are gorgeous and have several hidden treasures. Within the gardens you will find fairies, statues, and more. The wooded trails you will find ponds, rock houses, a gazebo, etc. Plus, there are outdoor activities you can sign up for.Food: breakfast was great with a buffet as well as a menu full of options. We ate dinner at The Earl and the food was prepared very well. We had an appetizer, two main course entrees and desert. Everything was delicious and we would rank our meal as a 5 starsI did enjoy an 1-hr facial spa experience. However, even though it was done well and it is the only item I would not give a full 5 stars to but instead a 4-star. It was still a nice experience.I do believe what sets this venue apart from others, is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and nice. They seem to go out of their way to help you. I felt like they enjoyed working for the castle and that made it more enjoyable. People remembered your name or what you liked to eat or drink. It was within those little details that set this apart. Well done. We will definitely be back!!
Dromoland has more than earned its stellar reputation as a truly unique getaway. The grounds and castle are breath-taking (a term often overused but completely fair in this case). The estate offers a wide range of activities and the ambience is unparalleled.Staff are the standard in hospitality and anyone in the industry (whatever their business modelcould appreciate the level of professionalism and attentiveness each brings to their role.
We stayed in Dromoland Castle recently and it was an amazing experience. The castle grounds are lovely to walk around, even in the rain! The food could not be faulted and staff were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend Dromoland Castle Hotel.
Amazing experience. The castle/hotel is beautiful and a real treat. The staff was outstanding and friendly and the service was definitely 5 stars. The food and afternoon tea were a great time and shouldn’t be missed. There are many great things to do at the castle, nice walking trails, golf, and the Falcon experience are all a wonderful way to spend a day.
We had the pleasure of having afternoon tea at the castle on Saturday. It was an incredible experience as the food was amazing my niece and nephew are both coeliac and they were so happy with all the treats on offer. The professional staff were fantastic and so friendly and treated us like royalty. It was just so relaxing and I would highly recommend a visit.
A fabulous Hotel and definitely deserves 5 Stars. It was our 3rd times staying there and we definitely will be back again. Staff on all levels are so friendly and its the most relaxing place to stay. They have lovely walks around the Garden and Golf Club, also a choice of dining in the Castle, the Golf Club or The Dromoland Inn, all serve lovely food.
Well situated with plenty of scenic walks around the hotel itself. Great dining options in the restaurant, drawing room(!or down at the golf club. I had a soufflé there that was like a warm hug! The staff made every effort to provide 5 star service, would definitely recommend it for a stay
Two friends and I recently had Afternoon Tea in Dromoland. It was the first day of their festive menu. It was one of the most pleasant and relaxing afternoons we experienced in a long time. The menu was wonderful. When booking I asked that onions would be excluded from my savoury section. True to their word they did and II was able to relax even more. The glasses of punch were the nicest we had ever tasted. The food could not be surpassed. Sandwiches were just divine. The scones, well I want the recipe!! And the desert section was all perfect with some amazing flavours. The tea menus was a treat for me as I am a tea person. But it was the staff who really made our afternoon so special. There were so lovely and thankfully had a great sense of humour. Thank you to front of House and kitchen stafffor a very special afternoon.Anna
We had a great time, the staff where friendly, the grounds where magnificent. We really enjoyed clay pigeon shooting with David. Hotel was clean and our room was fabulous. We truly were treated like royalty. Deduction of the 2 stars is due to lack of innovation with the food and menu. There was not an abundance of choice on the menu. My wife and I had booked a spa treatment for a couple but the spa only booked one of us in and had no more availability. We did not find out until checking in for the treatment. I thought this to be very poor on drumolands end especially since we are on honeymoon and had discussed it during booking.
This really was something else. The level of service we received was as good as anything we could remember and the staff couldn’t have been nicer/better. The grounds and main hotel were fantastic, as was breakfast and the tasting menu we had on one of the nights. For completeness, the pool and gym weren’t to the same standard as the rest of the hotel (though still nice and the whole experience was nonetheless fantastic). Thanks!
