We had a lovely weeklong stay at Dreamsea. Although it’s not very close to anything you stay so busy it doesn’t matter! Great surf instruction, learned a lot from surf theory. Yummy food, although they did struggle a bit with our dietary restrictions (celiac). WONDERFUL staff, they are the kindest. Really beautiful atmosphere and SO CLEAN.

It was like a beautiful dream staying at Dreamsea.I wanted to learn something new so I decided to attend surf camp at Dreamsea and it exceeded my expectation. The property was well kept and very clean. The landscaping was beautiful. It was so nice to be surrounded by trees, plants and animals. I usually dont stay in dorms but the dorm rooms were spacious, well decorated and clean.I signed up for the weekly package which included surf lessons, surf theory, yoga lessons and a meal plan (breakfast and dinner). Prior to arriving at Dreamsea, I have never been on a surf board and I left with a strong foundation and knowledge of the sport. The instructors were all very knowledgeable and fun to learn from. The yoga lessons were perfect after a day of surfing. The food at Dreamsea was some of the best food I ever had at a resort.Dreamsea organized daily activities so you are never left bored. However, if you want some alone time, there was plenty of space on the property for you to chill out and have some me time.The best thing about Dreamsea were the people, they were truly part of the dream team. Thank you Jose, Jose, Fran, Miguel, Barney and the rest of the staff at Dreamsea for an unforgettable experience.

I stayed here for two weeks and I absolutely loved it. I feel like I learnt and improved a lot thanks to the surf classes. Now I feel a lot more confident in the water and would love to keep on surfing (big thanks to all of the surf instructors). The shared dorm was very nice and it was spacious enough, the meals were delicious and the staff are super nice. As Dreamsea isn’t too big, you knew everyone, which gives a homely feeling.Hernan, thank you for all the activities and your kind smile. Fran, even though I was always tired in yoga class (oops haha), I loved being there and having you as a yoga instructor. A big thanks to the staff too!!Last but not least: Dreamsea has the cutest animals walking around: Maya the cat + Negrito and Alma the dogs. Big plus for me and my friend haha.Hope to be back one day :-)

We loved the place, the vibe, the food, the staff and the surfing!Hernan was the best activity manager you could ask for, he welcomes you every day with a smile and tries to make the best out of your stay: no matter if surfing, bonfires at the beach, drinks and live music or surf skating.Fran was a lovely yoga teacher! I loved her lessons and she teaches with all her heart. She also does the massages and the crystal healing and I absolutely loved both - it was definitely worth the money!Surfing was really nice too - you get good waves in Jan / Feb for both beginners and intermediates. Be aware of the cold wind and water though. If you can - bring a thin wetsuit. Jose, Miguel and the crew are really nice surf instructors and they support you in improving your surfing by offering surf theory and also tell you what to improve in the water.Food is amazing, you get a starter, main course and dessert.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We are coming back :)

The place is pretty on the outside but disastrous on the inside. We very much looked forward to our stay in yet another dreamsea surf resort but were greatly disappointed. The resort can claim to have a pretty nice style but unfortunately it comes with bad management. Despite highlighting our allergies the staff was unable to deliver the food accurately.If you order something, be aware that half of the menu is not available (even coffee?!and you will have to wait 45mins for a smoothie. Sometimes you may encounter staff working but most of the time nobody seems to feel responsible.Furthermore, the private cabañas turn into a nightmare because of the strong winds all year long. You might consider sleeping in a hurricane - same experience, way cheaper.As if that wasnt enough, they ran out of running water for several hours so you couldnt even flush the toilet.To sum up, we paid $80 per night for wild camping and inexistent staff. Youll find better places for less money.

Really enjoyable surf canmp. We were on the weekly package and stayed in a cabana with a private bathroom. Upside was people were great, food was good and decent portions most of the time. The head surf coach Jose was one of the best i have had, very technical and dedicated, Walter was also great. The camp is a wee bit out of town and away from the surf beach so we hired a car so we could move around easier but the camp does put on transfers. All in all was a great week and good value.

I cannot say enough good things about dreamsea. This has been the highlight of our four months traveling. We booked a weekly package in a private suite and included surf lessons, yoga and 2 meals daily.The staff is extremely welcoming and makes you feel at home. The food is delicious and multiple options for vegetarians and meat eaters. The surf instructors are passionate and incredible attentive and helpful. The yoga is designed to sort you out and relax you after a day of surf. It’s fantastic that they offer a number of other add on activities as well.It was also a great vibe with the guests and staff - we have made friends for life and will absolutely be visiting other Dreamsea locations in our travels.

Amazing staff - super friendly & helpful. had a great time getting to know them. Helped us track down mobile antigen tests so that we could get out of the country on our flight - huge help.Great food - the breakfast is worth every penny.Transport - the camp is not on the beach, probably a 7 min ride to maderas (best surf beach). they help you get to the beaches & to san juanOverall, very familial style hostel & great place to stay + surf for a bit. Would come back!

What an amazing experience! The staff, the surf instructors, the activities, the aesthetic, the rooms, the vibe, the people, the food and more - all excellent! By far the highlight of our trip. After 6 days of surfing we went from having barely surfed to catching our own green waves at the line up, completely hooked on surfing now. Awesome quality and amazing value. Thank you very much to the whole team, you’ve created something really special here.

Honestly I don’t know where to start! I had the most amazing experience with Dreamsea Nicaragua!I booked the weekly package which is the best alternative if you don’t want to think to much during your holiday as everything will be taking care of. The staff is just so lovely, helpful and attentive. The food is tasty and fresh. For breakfast you can choose from one of the 5 options they have and for dinner, a 3 courses adapting to your special dietry. The surf lessons are 10/10 and the surf instructors are patients and giving you plenty of tips! One of the best part it the 3rd floor of this impressive bamboo structure where you can practice yoga or do your personal training.Even though the resort is located a few kilometers to the beach/town, you won’t fill you are missing out since they organize everyday beach and town shuttle for free. Plus, you don’t have to carry your surfboard ;)Regarding the room, I had a private room with private bathroom which was really comfortable! They had buildwalls to all the cabañas as previously they were made with a tent’s fabric material. A/C is not necessary as there are big windows with a ceiling fan which constantly being fresh breeze. In the morning you don’t need any alarm as mother nature will woke you up haha!I absolutely recommend this place for your next holiday!

Dreamy, beautiful

Place was beautiful but all that glitters is not gold.Rooms are essentially giant tents which let in every single sound including the 3 or 4 roosters which start incessantly crowing at 5am. Yes, this is a hostel and you expect some noise but what with the roosters and the insane wind flapping through the tent so hard that it displaced furniture, sleep was not a thing that any of our group were able to get at this hostel. It was so bad we considered moving for 2 nights even though we couldnt get a refund. The bed was also so saggy that I had to move my mattress to the floor to try to get a decent nights sleep. Ive stayed in probably 50 or so hostels in my day and can safely say my 4 nights at dreamsea were some of the most sleepless of all my experiences.The pool was also closed, and the entire place seemed a little neglected.Staff were nice and food was good but this place was a serious case of pretty on the surface but with zero substance. Its away from town so secluded but no convenient at all for any beach or activities. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Desde el primer pie que puse en Dreamsea Surf, la atención fue excelente, la habitación estaba impecable. En la mayoría de los sitios las fotos mejora la realidad, considero que en este caso es lo contrario, en verdad el lugar es mucho más bello que lo que se aprecia en sus fotografías. Durante mi estancia conocí a gente increíble con quienes aún me llevo, en un día de estar allí me sentía como estar en una gran familia. Gracias por todo, espero que tengáis mucho éxito

I had the loveliest stay & experience at Dreamsea. 100% recommend to anyone in Nicaragua. I was new to Yoga & surfing & all the teachers were amazing and super encouraging (as I fell repetitively). The rooms and amenities look like an Instagram picture.- Amazing food - very accommodating to my dietary restrictions- Easy shuttles to town & beaches- Jake was sure to have daily suggestions of local activities and sight to see- The staff was amazingVery sad to leave at the end of the week.

Best hostel ever! The reason why you come to Nicaragua

Added another week to my surf and yoga package as it was incredible chilled and nice. Great vibes, good food, friendliest staff ever and well expirienced surf teachers! Felt always very safe and calm.

I had the most beautiful experience at Dreamsea Resort. I was welcomed with a smoothie drink and a beautiful smile from the lady at the front desk. Everything was on point, my room was very clean, the food was excellent. The staff was always on time for activities and provided with a fun experience all the time. I made good friends during the few days I spent at the resort and could have all the rest I needed. It is a quiet and peaceful environment and I recommend it to anybody who wants to spend a good time in San Juan Del sur.A security guard is there pretty much all the time so I felt safe the whole time. The swimming pool was also very clean and being cleaned very often. Thank you for everything.

Best place to learn to surf in Nicaragua

Dreamsea was the best place we stayed on our travels through latin america. We couldnt leave after one week and had to book a second. The staff are all amazing and helpful. Spending the day surfing was only made better by the amazing dinner waiting for us. I would recommend Dreamsea to everyone.

Excelente lugar para quedarse, pasar el día, asistir a algún en evento en ese sitio, sea cual sea la razón es una buena opción. Las personas encargadas son demasiado alegres, te demuestran confianza y quieren que uno pase un buen rato. Las instalaciones están en muy buenas condiciones y es un lugar accesible.

This place is very beautiful, the food is amazing, and the service is decent. The reason however I gave this place two stars was as follows. The first and greatest reason is despite having very good and friendly drivers their vehicles are something left to be desired. They are extremely old, do not have a/c and may not always be safe. These vehicles are used to get you to the beach which despite claims of walking distance, the beach, although close by car, is not very close to walk to. The shuttle to and from the airport is good though and is safer and has a/c. This place is fairly new it seems and may improve upon this however very soon. Also be aware that this place is not as vegan friendly as they claim. If you book here you will still enjoy it, but choose the couples room because the other room does not have a bathroom and you will find yourself having to walk to a shared bathroom halfway across the place in pitch darkness at night or end up peeing outside.

Dream surf was so nice!Such a relaxed and boho vibes.Staff was nice, especially that guy Victor which was nicer than everyone else.I just wished that the transportation/shuttle to the beach and town was nicer, cleaner, etc.For a place that nice and pricey they should have their OWNED trucks with AC that has dream surf in it with phone numbers etc...More professional cause the shuttles were old and smelly.Besides that it was good.

This place is a scam. Spent 1 night here in March and then run away - losing all the money paid for 3 more nights, inclusive of surf lessons and airport transfer which we didn’t use and they didn’t reimburse!The place looks amazing at first sight but don’t be fooled• The cabanas are made of tent and net and there are no solid walls. This is a place that claims to have 344 days of offshore wind, so you’ll be sleeping in a tornado. In our room the wind managed to move the furniture and spread our clothes on the floor from the luggage. The wind speed was 42km/h• The cabanas are made of white tent and with a thin white curtain - if you are lucky enough to experience a night of calm wind, you’ll wake up at sunrise with the light!• There is no management: everyone that “works” here either disappears the next day or is a volunteer on a free holiday rotation. We wanted to discuss changing room or getting reimbursed for the services we did not use / the nights we did not spend there and until 10am no one showed up at reception. We only managed to speak to a guy claiming he was on his day off, which erroneously told us we would get reimbursed but then changed version a week later by emailDon’t waste time or money here, there are many other nicer and better organised surf camps!

This resort is absolutely incredible. Somehow they have pulled off the luxury of a resort but managed to keep the friendly welcoming vibe that solo travelers crave. I booked the week surf package but ended up staying 4 extra days because I loved it so much. The surf coaches José, Wesley, John and Sebastian are not only excellent teachers they also became great friends. Victor and Silviana were always around to organize shuttles or just to chat. Wilmur makes fabulous cocktails (try his hibiscus mojito!and Jose will always crack you a cold beer and a huge smile. Brenda and Corinna were always around to call you by name and make you feel at ease. And Eric will take you anywhere!All in all the grounds and rooms are beautiful, the staff are amazing, the food is to die for, and all the activities are so fun and well designed to bring everyone together.I arrived at dreamsea alone and left with a Nicafamily.THANK YOU Dreamsea Nicaragua! I will be back and I will send everyone I meet your way.

Dreamsea is awesome and affordable! I love the communal vibe and the staff is excellent. I was debating staying in San Juan Del Sur and I’m so glad we stayed at Dreamsea instead, just a little out of town. Really loved being surrounded by the chickens and monkeys (no matter how loud they were). The rooms are beautiful and the staff does a great job taking care of you. There were a couple of days we had to leave in the morning and the staff would pack our breakfast which was so sweet. This is a great surf camp for chill, fun people.

Amazing place!! Just entering to the resort you feel a nice vibe. The feeling of sleeping in the jungle with all the sounds from the monkeys, birds and other animals is unique.The rooms are stilish and comfortable and the dinning area eco-bamboo building is one of a kind.Totally recomended

Amazing place to stay! The vibe at this resort was great, the food was delicious and the decor in the reception/chilling area and in the bamboo huts was perfect! The people working there are extremely friendly and helpful. We did 2 nights "all-inclusive" with the yoga, surf lesson and food; it was a great deal. The surf instructor was sooo patient which was great for our beginner group (3 people). There was a party one of the nights where everyone mingled and danced, it was so fun!Only negatives for this place were that the wifi wasnt working properly (but apparently it usually doesand if you have a suitcase, you might have to carry it because theres no smooth path to the rooms.Would totally recommend :)

I would normally never give 5 stars to a place that does not have AC but this place is beyond amazing. You have to take a ride up a very bumpy road to get to this beautiful place but it is well worth it. We did not stay here but we were invited by the people who were staying there and the guy running the place, when we met them on a boating excursion. Guest get daily surfing lessons, every other day yoga, free breakfast, and a 3 course dinner. All of the travers, staying there said that this is one of the best places they ever stayed at.
