Taproom of San Leandro brewery for house beer plus wood-fired pizza & more in former auto-shop digs.
This is the best place to chill with your friends, get a lil buzzed, and enjoy great music. So many drink options and the food is AMAZING!
Burger was cold. Pizza was excellent BUT we had a terrible experience on September 11,2022 for dinner with our pizza. I dont want to divulge the issue. It was DANGEROUS and surely the Management/servers will know the issue being referred to.I want to clarify that my earlier review comment picked up the THE HIVE!!My comments here are specifically addressed to Drakes Dealership.Hope this clarifies the matter with The Hive Management.
Whether its Oakland or Sacramento, Drakes excels at creating a great space to have a beer, eat and catch up with your friends outdoors. Tucked away in the city landscape of Oakland, youll find this gem. They have a good selection of beers, different types of food, and plenty of seating. The space is dog friendly, which Ive enjoyed bringing my dog to several times. Youll see a good mix of people gathered here with friends and family. Parking in the area is a little tricky but Ive usually found some street parking when visiting on the weekends. Everything is ordered through a QR code and their website app which makes everything super easy to transact and close out when youre ready to go.
The fire pits in the open seating area had such a nice touch to the Autumn air.
Great beer, great atmosphere, good food, seems like a really great spot to bring all your kids for lunch on a Saturday
Let me start off by saying that were not from the US. We were a little upset that we had to use the QR code to see the menu and order. Especially because there was no free wifi, and we would have to use roaming data to order. This made it very difficult for us. When we went to pre-authorize our credit card to order our food, it wouldnt work because we didnt have any other option than to enter a zip code. We dont have zip codes at home, and our postal code (which isnt just numbersis necessary to pre-authorize our payment. We had to find someone to ask for help and by this time we were very frustrated. The waitress tried to pre-authorize our card manually and that didnt work either. We ended up just paying for the order rather than pre-authorizing.The food came out fine and the beer was really good. However, not once did an employee come around and ask if we needed anything. It sort of seems like the QR code system is used so that they dont have to have any staff paying attention to their customers. Our entire experience was frustrating and not worth it. I dont know how this place is popular; maybe its just a local thing.
The accessibility of the ordering app is atrocious. I spent most of my time at this venue with my head down on my phone trying to get the menu to work so I could order. Didnt end up ordering because the system was too hard to use, kitchen then closed...Some of us actually go to hospitality venues to get away from our phones... they kill the vibe at a table.
Great place for group lunch, everyone can order on separate tabs and settle up by phone. Super easy and great menu!
Great beer selection which 4 ounce to pint pours. The food was just as good! Eating outside on the beer garden was super cozy, especially with the fire places and heat lamps.
Hosted a big (13pplunch for a strategic planning meeting. Took orders on my phone, a bit DIY, but a flawless and quick experience. The food was excellent, and the lush outdoor space was a complete refresher. Lovely to offer my team such a variety of nonalcoholic bevs too! Very elevated “convening” moment. Thank you Drake’s for finding a way to keep your staff safe and make our lives easier!
Drinks are okay, others beers on tap were nice. Im old school, the online menu etc wasnt cool. If you dont close out, they take a 20$?! It doesnt even taste that good! Set to rob and the servers dont ask you anything and barely clean the tables right smh.
This place was fantastic! Great vibe, dog friendly, solid beer and delicious pizza. We went on a whim, but will definitely be back!
Really cool vibe...Awesome burgers and pizza from a real wood oven. The house beer is great also!
You in Oakland or just generally east bay? Need a place to take a date? Or impress visiting family? Or maybe you need to prove to your friends oakland is worth seeing in a trip from socal? For all of the above AND MORE, Drakes is the move my dudes. Take an evening to enjoy their flavourful fire roasted pizzas. From classics to wild combinations. This place will have you coming back for more. The ambiance is cutesy af, enough to turn any hard hearted hater of the East BAY into a soft pizza eating goop. The staff is hella chill so please be chill back and tip em! And the pizzas, oh boy the pies. Like ok In Side Out keep making fun of SF for its funky pizzas but over here in Oakland we got stuff that’s gonna razzle dazzle you. Try the Ex, creamy garlic oozing all over and out. Or be wild with the Joey and get fricken plums (or figs idron your pizza and be blown away. Be wild, enjoy, and consume responsibly.
Fun place with a cool outdoor area. Good beers and some nice bar food.
My favorite pizza spot in Oakland. Great food, amazing outdoor seating with fire pits as well as ample indoor seating. It’s in a great location around other restaurants and bars and has a great vibe.
Delicious gastropub. The ambience is the by far the best outdoor eating setting I’ve seen with beautiful trees, climbing floral vines, 50% shade and fire pits, too. It’s a great meeting place for large groups.Parking is hard. The lot is worth it to pay but often full. You can find spots in the neighborhood with perseverance.
The food looked good, the beer was meh. Nice atmosphere outside seating is nice. Tons of dogs.... Thats why they got 4 stars from me
Great old building, indoor and outdoor spaces. Very good beer. Seems their pizza is their signature food. But get the Irish cheese fries with corned beef. Yum
Good beer and good food. Cant go wrong with most of their pizzas. Plenty of outdoor seating. Waits can get long on weekends.
Went with a small group from work. The ordering experience is unique using your phone but is actually very convenient. We had pizzas and they are amazing, Im from NYC area and have access to a lot of different pizza places, this pizza had good crust, well cooked and excellent sauce, cheese and toppings. The beer selection is also very good.Definitely recommend it and will visit again when Im in the area.
I was excited to try this place out. It was yummy food. They had so many different types of beer, but I dont drink. The names sounded good though.
Great spot! You can order via QR code. Good choice of beer. The pizza/flatbread is great! Delicious. Beautiful setting. Outdoors, yet concealed, plants, and trees. I’ve had groups here, everyone loved it! Open for lunch as well!
If I can summarize my review in 2 things I would say, really great ambiance and amazing pizza 👌🏼but theres definitely more to it. The ordering system is very efficient. You scan the QR code and select what you want from the menu. Multiple people from your table can open up a tab and order and you can leave the tab open in case you need to keep ordering. They bring the food to your table super fast and the servers are very friendly. The pizzas are delicious and a good size. Theres plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, its pet friendly and theres paid parking. Totally recommend it!
Pizza and drinks were good. They have a wide variety of beer choices. The atmosphere was cute. I like the ordering system. Its efficient and effective. We subbed vegan cheese but it was still great pizza.
This was my first visit to Drakes Dealership. I was very happy with the food. The Pizza and Fries are delicious!
I love Drakes, its a great spot with an outdoor patio for some beer and pizza. Fantastic on tap beer and very decent food. Ive been here a lot, although the last time I visited, I was disappointed in the pizza.I ordered a Personal 86 or whatever, that had pepperoni and some other types of peppers and onions on it. Well, when it came out...the peppers and onions were not cooked with the pizza. The pepperoni pizza was cooked in the oven, and then the toppings were thrown on haphazardly afterwards..that is not how you cook a pizza. When you lifted a slice from the plate, all the extra toppings fell off.Get it together Drakes. When someone orders a pizza, make a pizza. Dont use a leftover pepperoni pizza and throw toppings on it. 🤦♂️
Walked in here after spending a few hours in Oakland and we were very pleased. First off, the Watermelon Sour was delicious. For food we tried the Say Cheese and the Baldwin Park Fries. The Say Cheese was very good. It was the perfect size for a snack. However, the Baldwin Park Fries were even better! Perfect fries, tasty toppings, great sauce.Definitely excited to come back!
choose your pizzas carefully. some are good and some arent. I had the mushroom pizza with white sauce I believe and it was good, but my sister had some kind of red sauce pizza that was not good. the crust is flimsy, so youll need a fork and knife to eat it. the Mac and cheese was horrible. watery. flavorless. do not order that. but the ambiance was nice. that beer garden/courtyard would be great in the summer. if they brought in a dj, it would be a real vibe.
Prepare your Vax card and DL to enter. We love everything. We love the vibe. It was a Sunday afternoon and We didn’t make any reservation but still have seats for us. Staff we’re great, very accommodating. And just have to scan the qr code for the menu and order it online and the payment as well, very neat.
-old school [mozz curd, red sauce, basil, pecorino, extra virgin olive oil] ($15)the wait time is definitely pretty long esp during fridays-sunday and personally idk if its worth the wait time (around 45 mins - 1 hrbut since i was with my group of friends - with us talking and catching up it def made the wait time more bearable. i think the concept, food, drinks are pretty creative and fun but at the same time bc i was lowkey waiting for so long my appetite wasn’t at its peak when we finally got seated. id say the near by area is also really fun since there’s an local ice cream spot and the liveliness of the spot was so slpendid!! def a great spot for catching up with friends/dates/family outing (kids friendly)! the pizza was sooo bomb too. the ratio of topping vs crust/body was perfectly balanced!! def would recommend yall to check it out 😌tips: limited parking lot/street parking nearby
Always amazing. The environment here is lively, typically with classic/popular 90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop gracing the airwaves. They have a zillion beers on tap if youre into that. But all their select ciders are the bevys for me. (Ginger Peppercorn FTWIve tried 75% of their pizzas and can safely say, theyre always consistent. My favorite is one called "The Ex!" Any of the appetizers will start you well. Brussel sprouts and their mac & cheese are great. Vegan Chili fries? Impressive.Favorite entrees are both their burgers. Try the spicy or garlic fries on the side. Fire pits are def my fav place to sit.You honestly cant go wrong here.(Pictured is my most recent visit)Y^_^Y 💜
A great spot. They have fire pits and heaters so it was warm during extra cold nights. The ambiance of the beer garden is quiet lovely and warm. Careful not to wear super thin heels due to walking spots with rocks. The drinks were wonderful, but the hot dog was pretty thin / small and relish was sparse. Fires were large and crispy.Wait staff was also a bit cold and unfriendly (but maybe because they had to work on NYE, which would make sense).
Am amazing venue and local beer garden. Ordering and paying from the QR Code was super easy. Great selection of drafts and a very tasty menu. Pets permitted on leash.
Great environment for some beers and food! Real cool outdoor patio thats easy to get to and close to an ice cream spot and other good post-dinner locations. Plus there is great variety in the pizza menu and the service was great!
good vibes, but slightly noisier than i would expect for a beer garden. might be because the space is enclosed by brick walls. got beer and fries, both solid. one nice thing was that ordering and checking out is quick and easy via toast
Surprisingly not that busy on a warm Sunday afternoon. It appears they only offer outdoor service or everyone was sitting outside? New QR ordering is fast, but impersonal. We snacked on the shishito peppers (perfectly cooked& fries. The mango smoothie seltzer is a must try while it lasts (although I forgot to get a pic!)
We had a member in our party which is vegan and they saw something that indicated such. We overlooked another item which had dairy and they came out to ask and verify if we wanted to keep those items on our food. Really went the extra mile to ensure our order was correct. Food was delicious and quick. Besides having to pay for parking. All was great.
They open at 12 and waited outside for a bit. The wait wasnt too long. They put us on the waitlist because they were understaffed until more staff came in, they put a limit on seating. Totally understand and was not gonna go all karen on them so I took the opportunity to take my doggies around until they called. For the actual experience, we sat outside and they had a qr code for their menu. Ordered via app and we put what table we were in. Totally seamless. Beer was good as well as the pizza. They even gave us water bowls for my puppers.Ordered 2 beers and 3 pizzas as mains and got the Brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts were delicious. We got the pepperoni, the mushroom and onion as well as the elote pizza. The mushroom and onion was my favorite. Pepperoni was nothing to write home about the the elote was delicious.
The great and the bad. Beers great,Great, good the short cake bad. The ice cream on the short cake good, nice ripe strawberriesThe biscuit on it was bad like card board bad, like expired cheap store bad. Really wanted to love itHopefully they either step up game in that or just drop it because it does NOT match up to quality of the rest of the food. The Mac and cheese was creamy with a little spice definitely would recommend that.
Good ambience, pizza was great, the short rib avocado fries were great too. They have enough heaters to make it comfortable if its a little cold out which was nice.
Love Drakes! Delicious food and beer/wine/cider.They have plenty of gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options (the menu is coded for easy ordering). They have also adjusted wonderful amidst COVID, you order directly from your phone at the table to minimize contact.
Drakes was pretty decent. Lots of food and beer selection. I wasn’t a big fan of the vibe though. The servers were pretty abrupt, and in general the restaurant is too noisy to have an easy conversation. The pizza I ordered came out great though & I always enjoy a Drakes brew.
One of my favorite places in uptown. You kinda have to navigate yourself to the back of the inlet. The pizzas are well sized. Being thin-crust, I find it to be just right. For a party of two or more, its even better. This place is a great place to have lunch, and maybe even better to have dinner and a drink. The open seating in the large wooden chairs is convenient just to hang out and have a drink. And the large arm rests are still wide enough to grab appetizers.
The atmosphere outside is awesome. The service is stellar and everyone seems to love what they do. The food was tasty AF anddd they allow dogs! 5 stars from me.I dont drink so I cant rate the beer for you, but I got the Irish Nachos and they were phenomenal.
Very nice atmosphere, friendly servers, we had a trainee, very well trained. Hood food excellent beer. Nice evening with our child. Family oriented business. Tucked away on a beautiful spot, fire pits and heat lamps for those chilliy days/night. Will come again. Great place for groups/friends/coworkers also.
Came here for a work happy hour. Had a really great time! Really fun vibe for all ages. The beer menu is really extensive and even though we had a large party they were able to serve us very quickly. Food is very artisan but affordable. Definitely recommend!
Great place to go with friends! Drink selection is very nice. I ordered the Here and the Pilsner, both were great. My group also ordered a couple of pizzas, which were also very good ( they have quite the number of options in the pizza department ). The service was good. At one point we ordered some mead and they were out so keep that in mind if for some reason you are going there for the mead.
Awesome place to meet with friends for a beer. Definitely recommend grabbing a seat in their outdoor seating area. If it is cold they have fire pits and heating lamps ready to go! They also have indoor seating with TVs in the bar area for watching sports.
Perfect place to hang out with a group of friends. I booked Drake on Friday for Saturday night out and reserved table for 10+. Booking was easy considering it was last minute. We got a table at 8:30. When we got there we were 10min late but we still had to wait about 15 more min to get our table which wasnt a big deal for us. Place was packed and happening!Good selections of house brewed beers, pizza and other type food. We sat outside and it was such a lovely set up - like a typical beer garden place with community tables. They had put nice heaters all around the place so that was nice because they kept us warm through the night.Service was efficient and friendly. Loved the 89 pizza and Hop Vice IPA!!! Their pineapple & Sausage as well as fig pizza are scrumptious too! Everyone really enjoyed themselves, the drinks and the food. Will definitely return back to this lovely place! Highly recommend! Book in advance for large groups ;)
